04-Aug-24
*Found on the 4 Aug 2024 @ 1:49PM.**Cache find # 15701.* Today I headed over this way to tackle a few of the new Ringwood Ramble series of caches.I had got to the end of the Ramble caches in this direction but there were a few other caches which I had not found yet so I continued further along the trail to have a look for this one.I can see that if the grass was long that this one could become difficult to find but today it wasnt that bad, so the cache was found without too much trouble and the log was signed.**Thanks to BernieH for keeping the game going by placing this cache.**

04-Aug-24
Spent a few mins here and eventually found it with the help of other logs.

04-May-24
Out and about with my good mate AdamWickenton on a sunny Saturday morning, making the most of having the bye for footy this week. Parked close to nearby [Maggs Trees](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9GBDY_maggs-trees) so that Adam could collect that find, and then made our way over to this one after collecting [Mainstay](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9GBE3?luid=5a9cf4d5-c52a-4f00-a5b6-7043c00d6880). Had a lot of possible options for this find, however the nearby dog was cheering us on to make the find. After creating a systematic approach, we shortly had the cache in hand and logbook signed. Tftc BernieH

Decide to wander over to Warranwood... Croydon area this afternoon to hunt out enough caches to finish off this months *hard* souvenir... and that turned out to be harder than I expected. This cache was the source of must frustration... two passes along the fence poking around in all the long grass without success... followed by the reading of many logs which confirmed I was on the right track... and it wasn't until my fourth pass along the fence that I finally spotted the cache. Thanks **BernieH** for the cache... although I'm not sure if you had intended to be quite this hard to find.

18-Sep-23
This was really difficult because all the grass was covering it

18-Sep-23
This was difficult as all the grass was over grown found it with natisaac23

10-Sep-23
I have had trouble in the past with Bernie's bisons. This one also had me searching around, scratching my head. The systematic method worked in the end.

30-Jun-23
Super easy find tnx

29-Jun-23
Quick find with Stresspoint and Geodog. TFTC

25-Jun-23
It was way to hard do better

06-Mar-23
Still catching up, sorry about that. This was a nice quick find that we made with no problems. Thanks for placing the cache for us to find.

06-Mar-23
So grateful that you have put out so many new caches so close to home. Certainly helps. Thanks so much for this and all the other caches.

26-Feb-23
Today I had the morning free and thought it was a nice day to go geocaching. Today the plan was to collect a number of geocaches that I needed a challenge, the one where you need 20 geocaches in each Victorian LGA. Turns out I've only ever found 5 geocaches in the Maroondah LGA, so time to fix that.

Certainly smells like the source of the Mullum Mullum River

Thanks for the cache Bernie H

This was incredibly hard I’m so surprised I found it!

03-Feb-23
Very small, but fun

Another easy find.
Thanks for the cache.

A quick find after work. Thankfully the grass had just been mowed. Searched for a while before reading a few logs. A little more searching and finally spotted the sneaky blighter.

Thanks for bringing me here today by placing this cache, BernieH

RedCb and I called by here this afternoon, looking for a quick find. This dream did not come true. We spent a considerable time searching, and reading previous logs, before we stumbled onto the little beast. No neighbourhood animals to entertain us either.
This was a difficult find BernieH. You are a tricky fellow.

21-Sep-22
This was a pleasant walk for Crustyvarmint and but oh my goodness did this one truly have me searching high and low! Just when I was ready to give up Crusty came up with the goods....I feel we should put out a memo to the local animals to not be so absent as we could've done with some friendly assistance as other searchers had had! LOL! Thanks for this tricky one BernieH.

13-Sep-22
Was almost ready to give up when I decided to have another good look, and then I spotted it! So glad I found it! Tftc!

Also appreciated the help of this adorable helper

21-Aug-22
#1336 - Had to navigate the mud to get to GZ but was swiftly visited by a nearby friendly dog saying hello while signing the log. Quite the ominous nearby black fence.

Thanks for the cache - took me a couple of minutes to find!

07-Aug-22
Out for a walk on this lovely sunny winters day and to pick up a couple of caches. This one took way longer than it should have, even with the help of the hint. Away from the main track we were able to search without anyone taking any notice of us and it was Mr Pooky who finally made the find in a place he had already looked. A well camouflaged cache. TFTC and bringing us to this walking track to show us more of the area.

26-Jul-22
This was a little hard for us! We used the hint and quickly found it. It blends it excellently! Thanks BernieH.

17-Jul-22
Thanks Bernie! Gotta look low for this one!

A busy day but a cache was needed in between work, school and basketball… needed a targeted drive by that would give me the smily I needed.

Muddy underfoot and today no cache guardian. An interesting start to the MM! Thanks BernieH

A nice autumn day. Perfect weather to get out and find some caches . A pleasant walk along the mullum mullum Trail. This took quite a bit of poking around to find . Fortunately there were no muggles about . Thanks BernieH

23-Apr-22
Quick and easy find. TFTC

22-Apr-22
A group of seniors came by so we ducked up the trail for some other caches and grabbed this one on the way back the car. Thanks Smile

Didn’t find

16-Apr-22
27 degrees in mid-April, how good isglobalwarming. Thanks BernieH for this low-key cache. Giddy up

01-Apr-22
The council whipper snipper man has been at it again. I found the cache sitting in the grass not where it should’ve been. It’s now back where the clue suggests. TFTC

29-Mar-22
I had an errand to run in Templestowe today, and had time to find a few caches on the way towards home.
Without the apparently helpful local pooch mentioned by others appearing to assist, I had to search the likely spots myself.
A minute or three and I had the little sucker in hand.
Thanks for bringing me to the source of a creek well known for its involvement in the creation of the Eastlink tunnel project.
TFTC BernieH

24-Mar-22
Found with icw after some crawling around and close scrutiny of the fence. Tftc.

23-Mar-22
The dog gave me the big hint and the little blighter was soon at hand after some great ground level work, TFTC

17-Mar-22
My midday zoom class was cancelled, so what to do with the day? Go geocaching of course! Now this was interesting .. who would have guessed that the source of the Mullum Mullum was so underwhelming .. I would never have guessed without chasing this cache .. thanks BernieH for sharing this information .. after reading the logs I was looking forward to seeing the little dog .. but alas no .. but the cache was soon in hand

09-Mar-22
Success on this second visit. Can’t believe I missed it the first time. Another Bernie the bison king. Thanks for the hide Bernie.

28-Feb-22
Grrrrrr

25-Feb-22
Was definitely expecting something a bit more exciting for the source, but still interesting to see where it all begins.

This was a bit of a tricky hide and took us a little bit longer then expected. However it was too long until the cache was in hand.

Cache is in great shape and logbook is nice and dry. TFTC

25-Feb-22
the source. Interesting, great hide and sweet walk along this trail; enjoyed seeing all the ‍

13-Feb-22
So the source of the Mullum Mullum is basically a drain? Also had some assistance from tbe dog who seems to own this cache. Fortunately didnt take too long to find! Thanks.

11-Feb-22
I had no idea the Mullum Mullum existed, until I began caching. So I was happy to be at the Mullum source, especially as there was a cache involved. I found this little guy after a short search..

04-Feb-22
Beautiful weather this morning and the caches were calling. It was high time I made a start on all these wonderful BernieH hides - and this was the last of the day.

Great name - cheeky!

This took a bit of looking, but as I had time I set to it and after a couple of passes the prize was in hand. I was hoping for the help of the local furry cache owner, but he only presented himself once all the hard work was done. Cute though!

TFTC

Arriving at GZ we checked a few spots without any luck. We widened the search area slightly and Lyn spotted the elusive container. Thanks to BernieH for the cache.

Logged with original account BlackOpal2005. We've now decided we need our own accounts so I'm playing catchup. Smile

30-Jan-22
A tricky little one. Thanks for bringing us to this parkland!

29-Jan-22
Second visit, this time coming in from the short road-side approach with G&J GJMMelb. I just knew this would be a quick find for my caching companions (having failed to find it previously under tight time constraints - ie GF's haircut appointment...) Anyway, our parking wasn't as ideal as hoped so a little extra walk was required to get to GZ. But once there, G almost immediately found the cache - the hide was as expected, as was the all to easy find in company [again... sigh!]... Any find is still welcome though - TFTC BernieH Smile

29-Jan-22
On another BernieH run today with quiet1_au, making the most of the cooler weather today and the fact that I am NOT an Educational Contact this week (after 2 weeks in a row!!) It was fantastic to be out in the fresh air!! q1 had started to look for this one previously when he got a phonecall and had to abandon ship. Today GMelb found it straight away lol

29-Jan-22
Looked around, checked the activity and looked again, nearly muggled by a young couple walking down the north side of the river, checked the hint, looked again, and no luck! I'll have to come back some time.

29-Jan-22
Very well hidden.

29-Jan-22
Nice cache. Great spot.

Out with xambo4u, we were going to have a short day, but we were having far too much success to stop.
On our walk to GZ, we stopped to talk to a contract worker weeding an area around a tree, keeping this park looking good. Quick find, thanks BernieH.

06-Jan-22
Out and about with echidna44 for a short run which developed into a long one, so good. Parked and walked to a couple along the track. This was by far the hardest but no problem for the echidna44. Cache in excellent condition. Noticed the mantainence people clearing things up which we subcontracted by council. Love your work BernieH

06-Jan-22
It was where i had looked before - not well enough obviously. The morning sun did not help! Thanks BernieH

04-Jan-22

26-Dec-21
Out with Spiffy-, his geokid and my geopartner for some evening caches and this patch in the Croydon area had our attention.

We spread out and searched the likely spots, but Spiffy- was the winner here with the guard dog nearby on close watch.

Thanks to BernieH fopr the placement and fun.

26-Dec-21
Found at 7:34 pm.
Out for an evening run with Fleabag- and his partner and my smallest geokid for this new patch of caches that must have kept you busy during lockdown. It was really handy having 4 sets of eyes on some of these especially that nano. It started off easily but later on got quite hilly ... should have done it the other way around. After getting about half of the tally Fleabag- needed to reach 2,000 cache finds for this year we headed to GYG for a well deserved Burrito dinner.
Upon arriving a guard dog stopped me from searching where I wanted to. It got bored after woofing for 20 seconds or so. So I returned to where I wanted to look and immediately spotted the cache.
Thanks BernieH for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

21-Dec-21
Searched all the obvious places with no luck. I'll keep a watch on it to see if other cachers can find it.

11-Dec-21
BernieH, you have had a busy lockdown!

Anyway, last week we got a new bike rack and my wife got a new bike, so we put it to use and made our way out to this trail. It was a great ride, starting with some solved puzzles before moving along to some of the new BernieH Croydon series. I was glad we found this when we did as it will become harder to find when it becomes more overgrown. The kids loved the homemade swings here.

We have now collected four caches from your lockdown 6 series. Would have loved a shot at an FTF but so many people near here! This is our last for this ride. We will find more another day.

Thanks for another cache BernieH and congratulations on your 100 hides (and the rest!)
