Apologies- this cache appears to have been stolen/removed. Due to unforeseen circumstances I know longer live in town and can not replace the cache.
Looked for this one last year but was unsuccessful. Live nearby so had another look and found it. Great find!

It was the Farewell GeoTour weekend so after a night in Upper Yarra Reservoir on the other side of the state I drove for a few hours to make it in time for the lunch event and some others. In a drive around this afternoon to find a few caches I made it to this quick stop. I was surprised by how in plain sight this one was. Thanks shann2122 for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. ----------------------------------------------------------The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! Be sure to find all the caches and earn the souvenir before the tour is archived. The [Farewell Ballarat GeoTour Event - GCAFQ8B](https://coord.info/GCAFQ8B) is on 18 February 2024.Are you ready to nominate in the 2023 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards? I arrived a bit early for a lunchtime event in Sebastopol, so I completed the local AdLab then tried a few trads around the area. That made me late for lunch, but not very.Sure was a sign! A quick park and grad at a spot with some interesting history. Thanks, Robmc.
Rusted close unfortunately and needs some wd40 or fixing up This week I decided to head to Victoria for a few days to target finishing off the Ballarat Geotour and also find the new series in St Arnaud, anything else was a bonus. I ended up finding a little over 300 caches plus a tonne of ad labs along the way. Thanks for the cache
i knew something here looked out of the ordinary straight away. jumped out of the car and back in. beat the rain!
Got to GZ and found it to be quite rustic.
I wonder how many of these old horse troughs are still around the country as they are not allowed to be removed. I remeber one being near my children's bus stop on the NSW South Coast in the 1990s early 2000s, There were a couple on the trails when I used to horse ride the stock routes of the Darling Downs very close to Toowoomba in the 1980s as well.

It may be a sign, but it's a lot more to our community. Soon had the cache in hand, log signed and I was on my way.
Thanks shann2122....cache is all good.

Also did 10 different cache types in a day, such a satisfying weekend of caching with great caches to find. Thanks for contributing my caching adventures this weekend. TFTC0

### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUIRED PLEASE** ###
----------
Hi there shann2122,
It looks like this cache might need some attention, as one or more seekers have indicated there is an issue. The cache has been temporarily disabled, so as to remove it from search listings and discourage people from visiting this location until the issues/s with this cache can be addressed.
**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days, so others know you are on top of it, as well as indicating exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication scuttle this listing.**
#What should you do now:-#
You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-
- **Check On The Cache:-** Visit the cache and repair and/or replace or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ). Then sit back and wait for the logs of praise to roll in.
- **Place A Write Note Log::-** Reviewers are not mind readers (unfortunately), so without your note on the cache page explaining that the site works are on-going, you have been in hospital, the area is in flood, or some other reason that has prevented attending to the cache, they can't tell what is going on.
So please just post a note to the page (within 14 days) and when a Reviewer next looks at the listing, all will be fine for a little bit longer.
**Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it. If you have a long term unavailable cache (where you don't have an actual date) please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 4 to 6 weeks, so as to keep everyone up to speed.**
- **Adopt/Archive:-** If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56), so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.
You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when a Reviewer next looks at the cache page, it is likely that they will, unfortunately, have to de-list (Archive) on the basis that it has been abandoned.
Honestly, I'd rather you decide so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.
**JUST A TIP:-** Have you checked out the Geocaching Dash Board designed to assist a Cache Owner in managing the caches they own? Have a read about it [**HERE.**](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2020/07/welcome-to-the-cache-owner-dashboard/?newsletter=PM) You will find your very own dash board [**HERE**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/owner?utm_source=geocaching&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=COD).
Thanks for your cooperation,

Nice quick find, I just had to not take the hint into account as it nearly threw me off but we love this whole spot for the geopup runs TFTC
A short search on a sunny Sunday morning in Ballarat. Just a bit windy. Took a few minutes but soon in hand. I suggest ignoring the hint. Log is full as previously mentioned but I managed to make a small entry. Thanks.
On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird (aka Mrs Geo, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird, Angry Bird & occasionally even Love Bird). It’s a great day for caching.

Find #11843
For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria
And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

Out for an afternoon of caching and op shopping with book enthusiast geokid 17 with us. We promised a milkshake if he found one and find this one he did.
Now, you see, this is what happens when you accidentally on purpose turn up to a family function about an hour too early ... fill in time grabbing a few caches. One of our caches used this sort of hide, so no problems. Interesting area, we haven't been down this way before. TFTC.
After a very early start to a Sunday morning, Mr Dromaniax and Ausfox; arrived at the first cacher for the day. It had been a pea-soup fog until Bannockburn, but the sun was shining, and the morning was superb until we neared Beaufort and the cloud descended to ground level.
After a few conversations and some Twisties and Solo at the event, we headed to the lake for the CITO.
Once we finished at the CITO, we headed to Ballarat to find a few caches and drop some items off with family.
We were heading back to the Bellarine Peninsula and decided a few more caches would be a good idea.
The sign did not say long-haired freaky people need not apply.
The cache is in excellent condition.
Thank you for this cache shann2122

The day started in a low mist which continued throughout the cold and windy day.
We were surprised by tje tricky yet obvious hide.
Log signed and replaced as Found.

Felt rather conspicuous here, there was a massive amount of traffic . Once the cache was located we walked away from GZ so as to sign the log without any prying eyes. Was nice and easy to replace unnoticed. Thanks shann2122

We have headed to Ballarat to attend doctor appointments and in our spare time head out to areas that we have not cached in to find the many geocaches that have popped up in the forest areas. Most of the roads were acceptable, some geocachers were on walking/bike riding section which hubby hiked on and I drove the car and would pick him up along the way. All geocaches were found and were in good condition. SL TFTC
