Unfortunately my repair of this cache did not go to plan and I have decided its been long enough that I will just archive this one.
Sorry everyone for this taking its time to be fixed. I have now received all the needed materials to get this cache up and running again. Australia Day weekend (27th or 28th) I will have all in place ready to be found again.
Unfortunately this is taking me longer than I would like to get back up and running. I am going to over haul this and create a new cache in the same spot. I aim to have it back up by Christmas. Thank you for your patience.

Replaced with a temporary log until CO able to replace as its a nice little cache and sad to see if it doesnt attract more finds. Hoping the CO approves! Thanks ThaKraken for placing this cache, for bringing me here and contributing to this great game for others to enjoy. Happy trails, Deanside
Having attended a recent event in Brisbane where a fellow cacher brought my attention to the geo tour in Ballarat and its up coming finish in February, i knew this was something I had to make an effort to get to.I also quickly realised that the attribute for the geo tour is the last one I need to achieve a personal challenge so the planning began.Today is day two of the mission and Im down to only two more caches to complete the tour and have the local geo art on the radar. I. Also hoping to squeeze a CITO and an event in if time is on my side lets see how we go.I jumped in The geowagon and ventured off the o soon find a nice parking spot. A short stroll later soon found me at ground zero. It wasnt long before cache was found but unfortunately the log was impossible to extract as it was out of shape, this may need some maintenance. Hopefully its ok to log this cache on that basis. I returned the cache to its hiding space and made my way back to the car. Ready to head to the next adventureA big thanks to the cache owners of Ballarat for making this cache available to be found.Cheers
Neat little cache and similar to one I found the other day. No-one else around, so the cache was a quick find. A neat little cache with a great little name. Thanks ThaKraken
Took a bit to get log out of cache but got it out and stamped. Got 5 days off from work so I decided to come to Ballarat and do the Geo Tour before its gone, also grabbing random caches and Adventures labs along my journey. So thanks to all who have placed caches. Sl cache replaced.
What a lovely memento and an easy find. Unfortunately the log book was on the ground and all wet so couldn't make my mark in it. Needs some maintenance
Log book wet needing a replacement, it appears that the threading around the lid has deteriorated
Up visiting some family for the weekend so I thought if grab a couple over the weekend
Not sure I'd it is meant to be hanging or not as I found it on the ground. I have placed it directly under the hanging part. Log is also damp.

We headed for Melbourne today on a day out and I thought for sure I could easily grab a cache on our way home. It got to 5pm on our way back and the dark started to set in… uh oh two DNFs in Baccus Marsh and I’m stressing, worrying that I won’t get a cache today to earn my streak challenge on the wheel of challenges. I arrived at Billy Butterfly and found it pretty quickly… phew… followed by oh sh…t as I realised the log was swollen in the container and I wouldn’t be able to sign… luckily I now travel with tweezers for this reason so the log was extracted and signed. Returned in place, hopefully a little easier for the next person to extract. Such a beautiful cache, favourite point given.
Thank you for telling us about the story about Billy go to the GZ zone and found it very quickly. It was actually more of a challenge to try and get the logbook out.
Our first evening in Ballarat before we go to Christmas in July at Sovereign Hill tomorrow.
We took an evening stroll to the bottle shop, with a small detour past this cache. Found by torchlight.
Cute ️
Thanks for the cache ThaKraken

Thankyou so much for the story about Billy. It is wonderful how sometimes a community can really look after the less fortunate. The Butterfy was beautiful and very tame as it didn't fly away when I was near it. The cache was a little tricky to get the log out of thankyou Mr Leatherman, and the lid is getting very loose.
Thank you TheKraken for sharing this cache with us all.

Found it. Could not sign as the scroll has swollen inside the cache and would not come out.
Away in Ballarat for a few days with Happy pants. Now the Geo tour has been conquered, we have the opportunity to grab some other caches around the area.
This was one of the hides that we found while out this area. It was a challenge to extract log and sign, as very wet. Sorry didn't have a new log to replace it.
Thanks for placing this hide and doing the maintenance, so we can make this find.

Found on Holy Saturday. Log is stuck, unable to sign. May require attention from the custodian.
Once we got to GZ, we searched for a bit in the wrong spot before finally laying eyes on the find, which honestly, was quite magical!

Goldy and Geo4Jimmy are off on another adventure to Ballarat for the GeoTour, we went flat out to complete the whole thing in our short stay.
We made a quick stop before leaving Ballarat for this cache, going out with a bang.
The CO is a legend so I had to find at least one, pity we didn't get to Halloween 2021. Next time!
This was a cool cache and great to finish off with. Thanks for having us at Ballarat!

I heard something about a badge level thingy for writing longer logs... so feel to ignore the words from this point onwards.
Thanks for going to the effort to prepare, hide and submit this geocache for me to find, another smiley for my geomap.
Your cache has been retrieved and the log book has been signed with the trusty stamp or a good old pen on paper, with the exception of virtuals, EarthCaches and webcams of course.

Oooooh, this was my first premium find! Very hard to get but very easy to find. No complaints!
That is a touching story. We were in Ballarat today on a caching trip, and this was one we had on the list. The largely untold story of Chinese people in Australia is fascinating. We were surprised to learn of the Chinese settlement in Ararat. John grew up in Launceston where the museum has a functioning Joss House, the Guan Di Temple. It was gifted to the museum by the last Chinese families in the Derby tin mining area in Tasmania's north-east. A condition of the donation was that it is made available to any Chinese visiting, for worship. Jinky went straight to the cache on onto the log. TFTC
While on my way to the MEGA event in Whittlesea, I had the opportunity to get in a few extra days of caching beforehand. This got me to go to areas I would not have normally seen and to some awesome caches. Today I arranged to meet up with the girls and we would do some caches around Ballarat, fill in some grid spaces, grab some as we passed and look at some labs. We had fun chasing Xmas trees, letterboxes and the odd virtual.
Grabbed this one as we were passing and for no other reason than that. Thanks for placing it here just the same, lol. We signed the log and continued on to the next challenge.

Depending on the log size and who I was with this is signed as nikid1, ND1 or TQ5 (team Queensland).
The group of us from the north decided to spend a day in Ballarat as we were all after different DTs, attributes and a lovely geoart (as I love Christmas) that we could get here.
Ballarat is such a lovely town. Such beautiful gardens and architecture that you don’t find up north.
Grabbed this as we headed into town after grabbing some challenge caches.

TFTC. Another trip into Ballarat for an appointment before we head back home to Queensland. Had to wait for a muggle to leave before we ducked in to locate this one. Great location and container.
After A DNF some time ago I was back to chase this one with Moonb1. It was an easy find this time. An interesting story!
The last cache for the day saw us floating like a butterfly but luckily not stinging like a bee as we made our way into the seclusion, to sign the logbook.
Thanks ThaKraken for the placement.

On an ad hoc day in Ballarat. Don’t have a pen. Didn’t take the trackable. TFTC . the sports field is locked up but there are people in there
Such a pretty wee find. The neighbours dogs were on to us tho, lucky their owners weren't concerned about the noise. TFTC
Managed to stop here as we were out with the chores of daily living, love the hide, TFTC and the interesting info about Billy too

Following the Franklins Bridge Reserve August Planting event we took the opportunity to revisit a few caches, including this one, which we had been unable to find previously.
A most appropriate hide to complement the story of Billy.
Thanks to ThaKraken for placing such interesting caches on the gameboard

This one certainly was a different type of cache container. Found with no problems - just took a while to get the log book out to sign our names but we finally managed it.

We looked high, we looked low, we looked in, we looked out, but today there was no way we could work this one out!
Did find something - think it might have been muggled - CO contacted.
Thanks for the hunt anyway ThaKraken .

We have headed to Ballarat to attend doctor appointments and in our spare time head out to areas that we have not cached in to find the many geocaches that have popped up in the forest areas. Most of the roads were acceptable, some geocachers were on walking/bike riding section which hubby hiked on and I drove the car and would pick him up along the way. All geocaches were found and were in good condition. SL TFTC
A quick find after work today whilst over this side of town (which is rare). Nicely done here. Thanks for the cache
TFTC found with Algae, couldn’t sign the log it was wet. I was the one who had to climb in to get this one.
It’s time for a weekend road trip. After speaking to the bank and remortgaging my house I managed to scrape enough together for half a tank of fuel. So I buddied up with OzHockeyChick for the other half a tank so we could get home again. Definitely won’t be leaving the engine running this weekend .
We got a little dirty for this one, fortunately the smaller of our crew was able to get in to the cache. Log is damp but able to be signed.
Thanks ThaKraken for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

I had to empty water out of the outer container. I was lucky to find the log container in the mud. The log itself is completely sodden. I don't think that the log contain is adequate for the job. Servicing is a must. Thanks for the cache and the story.
In Ballarat for work today so decided to collect a few smiley faces during my lunch break. I've had ThaKraken caches on my list for a while and today was the day.
Parked close to GZ and realised there was a sports carnival on close by. I had to be extra careful going for this cache as there could be heaps of eyes on.
Spotted what I was after and made the crawl in to get the log. Thanks for history lesson and placing this cache F.P as it's a nice place to stop and smell the flowers !!!

Some good friends had decided to head to Ballarat for a few weeks so I decided I needed a break and joined them, we had a great time out caching as well as sharing stories and laughs around a meal or two. I really love the area of Ballarat there is so much history and I am sure it has the largest population of Oak trees in the Country.

With work encouraging us to take some holidays and Mr SKI having quite a few weeks up his sleeve it was time to take another short break and do some sightseeing and caching in parts of Victoria we seldom visit.
This time we decided it would be Ballarat. There is a wide variety of cache types and quite a number of Adventure Labs to do, so the area is quite attractive. And that doesn't include the historical and interest aspects as well.
We organized to meet up with some friends while there so we would have the opportunity to do some joint as well as solo caching.
We have already had some great adventures on a few challenging caches that generated a lot of fun and as usual always good to find some pre-solved puzzles.
All logs signed as SKI Pair, RASP (Rebel Acts & SKI Pair or SP depending on size of logs and availability of space.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache ThaKraken.

Found it! On a spontaneous trip to Hamilton via Ballarat, we were able to stop and collect this cache. It was the evening so the place was quiet. Had to duck low to make the find. Emptied the container from the remnants of the very recent deluge and re-hid after signing the log. The sky was beautiful. I imagined seeing Butterfly Kites fluttering around. TFTC SL
Out early…ish this morning with Jenno3 doing a quick supermarket dash. We read the cache page last night and really enjoyed the story so this morning it was decided to see if we could make the find. The coast was clear when we arrived so we did what we had to do. Once the log book was signed (first initials) and the cache back in its hiding place we had to wait out old mate who decided to park and eventually open the garage door. While he was at the boot the escape ensued. As we darted back across the road we noticed a silhouette in an upper level window. Tftc and the great story. Fp from me
After all the fun and festive spirits of the day before good old Boxing Day is a little bit of a meh day for me……so kenare and I decided to head here being the closest to home and cross it off the list……bit close to a house which someone decided to come home while we were looking sus and loitering great story tftc

Find #2627 for me. Found at 10:19am with my dog Bonnie while visiting the area from Bendigo. With Little Athletics in full swing at Llanberris Reserve this morning, I thought I might have to pass this one by, so I sat down to read the cache description and logs before poking around GZ. I couldn't spot any obvious clues to help me there, but good coordinates soon had me in the right place where I made the find nicely out-of-sight from the many people in the reserve. What a fantastic tribute to Billy Butterfly! Admittedly, his name and story were unknown to me despite growing up in Ballarat, so thanks for sharing this with the geocaching community ThaKraken and thanks for the cache!
What an interesting little story about a Ballarat character. Great read and a nice hide here in butterfly lane.

Well what an interesting day it was for us.
We decided to head up to Ballarat with our very good friend Bushfire for the first caching trip together in quite a while. It was wonderful to be able to share in a day our with the Red Ant after so long.
The weather forecast suggested a cold morning with showers easing after midday. Who were they kidding, the temperature was around 6 degrees for most of our trip around the Ballarat district. Showers punctuated the morning and early afternoon but luckily we were able to dodge the drops at all but three caches.
Thanks to TheKraken for placing this cache and for letting the geocaching world know about this local character.
It is always good to find out about local history in our travels.
It was raining again and so we decided to head back to Geelong.

Dam COVID-19 for all the problems it has caused and the loss of things that we took for granted, but I think we are emerging out the other side thankfully.
Today for the first time for many months I have been caching with my great friends the suscoe's and headed up to Learmonth, Creswick and then back into Ballarat before heading back to Geelong after a coffee in Buninyong.
With the cold misable weather I think we were game in even thinging about a caching trip but then that is what cachers do.
On arrival it was still miserable but thankfully the cache was found fairly quickly with the small problem of getting the log out to sign but that also was not a large problem and our names were placed in the log and all was good but then we decided to head back to Geleong and dry out.
Thanks for placing this cache with a differance ThaKraken.
