Great view point and container. Harder to find than expected. Definitely not at the expected point

For the Kings Birthday weekend, our daughter rented a house in, Porpunkah, for the entire family. With heaps of activities to entertain the three generations in attendance, we were spoiled by our choices. While the others spent the afternoon in Bright, I took the family shopping car for a short expedition up Goldie Spur Track. On my last two visits to the area, the track had been closed, so I was quite keen to succeed today.Although the car doesnt have high ground clearance, it is an AWD, so I thought Id check out this track. All went well and I was soon at the trig point, and had the log signed. Thanks for enticing me up here Ben. It was a lovely clear day, and I enjoyed the wonderful views. A favourite point, well earned.

Pretty steep pinch up to here but well woth the detour for the views. The cache is pretty well hidden too and I consider myself lucky to have found it pretty quickly. Thanks again.

Out and about today exploring the Buckland Valley with Grannan55 and Geodogs. This is the third time we have looked for this cache. It was damaged by heavy machinery, but the keen eyes of a fellow cacher found the damaged container. This has been replaced. What a beautiful morning to be in the mountains. All good here. Now, onto the next one for the day. Have taken 1 PT. TFTC

No good today. Searched for over an hour, there has been a bit of disturbance. Maybe a fire or earth works.TFTC

As the others have said plenty of eyes and several phone calls later and no luck finding the cache. Still a great spot to stop and enjoy the view though.

Unfortunately this was our second DNF for the day. We had a good look with a group and nothing. But the views were unbelievable!! I would give this a fav point if I could.

Out with the family caching today. Started the morning with picking up a few of the HSS series in Murmungee, then onto Nug Nug, lunch at Lake Buffalo then drove Goldies Spur track and took in the amazing views of the Vic high country. Finished off the loop around Mt Buffalo at Myrtleford.

Drove up to the trig point here and once again took in the views. Began looking for the cache in what seemed like the obvious spot, and looked and looked... was ready to throw the towel in when I noticed something walking back to the car. Sure enough cache was revealed.

TFTC!

Absolutely beautiful part of the Victorian Alpine absolutely love it up here shame I couldn’t spend more time been floating around The Buckland today yes that’s right floating around rivers are up quite high thank you for bringing us to the spot as I’ve been here when I was six years old

I was down in Buckland doing top secret testing 4wd stuff for work, and I decided to duck over Goldie Spur to test out the stuff with a view.
I have often thought about putting a cache here for yonks but never got around to it…so now I get to find instead of hide…win!
Being in the big soccer Mum car, I turned this into a park and grab having parked right next to it (thanks now to a rare functioning Toyota handbrake)
Nice views up here on a nice sunny, but coolish day.

Cheers

Well, well, well what a difference a month makes! Last time we were here (early Dec'21) Mrs B & I couldn't find this one even though we spent a good half-an-hour looking for it back then. This time? Well this time I pinged it in under a minute so I felt like a right pillock - even more so when Mrs B rolled her eyes at me and derisively stated, "You looked around there last time you dill! Why didn't you find it?" Yes dear, I looked but obviously didn't see! "D'oh" would be quite a fitting exclamation upon finding it!

Fantastic views from here to the west and NE overlooking the Buckland Valley. Worthy of a fave from me for that alone!

At last we can log this one after previously missing it, we should have put more trust in our GPS. Great views from the top too.

Arrived at GZ coords were spot on an the cache found quickly. Obligatory pictures taken, then of to Myrte for a bite to eat. Thanks JA for the cache with brilliant view's.
