Sunny Sunday. Check. Ride on Lions train. Check. Collect this geocache. Check. Ice cream on way home. Check. All well with the world and TFTC
#14,948. A nice wander off Awapuni Road in Awapuni, Gisborne. The GZ was fortunately all quiet at the time of our visit. Relatively quick find. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.*Thanks for the geocache placement, and for bringing us to this site, and **.T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e.**.M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.*
Great cache. TFTC. Miss 9 found it in under a min. Love the recycled orange hint. Very creative.
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit & doing the things that we want to do we are currently parked up at the NZMCA Gisborne Park weather was overcast & windy but thought we should go for a bit of a wander to stretch our legs the cache was easily found, log book completed & returned pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #4,796 for us!
Today we had a good drive / wander round the town and picked up several caches - trads, puzzles we had solved and a few multis worked on today too.Parked up and wandered over to this one. Very quiet today, this would certainly be a hard one when the place is buzzing with people but cache found fairly quickly - log signed and all returned TFTC Tim and Viv - ddm
Returning to our holiday base from a bike ride and decided to stop to see if I could find this one. It wasnt difficult. #6901. TFTC.
Checked and couldnt find the cache. Have replaced it and hope that it doesnt disappear again.
Checked the cache which was still there but at a completely different level. Have returned it to its original position.
What a great place for the kids to bike around. Cache quickly located, very quiet here today. TFTC
No one around today. Might be a bit different on the weekend. Quick find. Tftc
Nice quick find after spending time with the grandchildren on Midway Beach. Unsurprisingly busy around here today.
Many thanks for placing.
Many thanks for placing.
We are in the North Island with the main purpose of completing the PWGT Tahi section so we have been to the far north. Along the way we will pick up a few other caches that take our interest such as those with lots of favourites or size large or letterbox caches or some that will just help us to fulfil some of the various challenges we are working on. One of those challenges is to have 25 finds in every county of the country. We were short in Taranaki and in Gisborne - hence we have come here on our way home to ensure we find enough caches to fulfill that challenge in Nelson.
What an amazing facility this is. We were pleased that it was raining when we were here as there was no one making use of the track while we were here. GK made nice short work of finding this one while I was looking in the wrong place. The log was signed and returned as he found it.
We are really enjoying the places we are visiting and the knowledge we are gaining through the tour, we just wish we had more time to explore these areas further. I guess once we retire that wish will come true.
With the new souvenir challenge we need to use the app to log the finds, but as I like to waffle on and write my stories on my laptop I am writing these while back at the campervan.
Thank you for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

#1822. Day 9 of our (GB Leader and I) 12 day Hawkes Bay odyssey to watch grandsons play cricket. Then on Saturday, after grandson #1 finished his tournament, it was off to Gisborne.
First time for me in Gisborne for something like 35 years. Shame my arrival coincided with Cyclone Cody and a tsunami.
I DNF’d this cache last night, but in my defence, I was tired and not thinking straight. Unfair on the CO, especially when he took the trouble this morning to give me a small heads-up. So this morning, before going for a much anticipated boogie board swim at Waikanae Beach, I righted my wrong, and soon had the cache in hand. What was I thinking yesterday? Co-ords were certainly within tolerance. Just that my mind-set wasn’t! DNF deleted!
So, tftc Rubbishparty. It was there all the time!

A great place for children we really liked the idea behind this place.Luckily we had the area pretty much to ourselves this afternoon so we could search properly.Getting down on our hands and knees we spotted what we were after.

What an awesome park, it was a shame no-one was using it. All the local kids must be very knowledgeable in how to use the roads safely. TFTC

Tried yesterday and DNFed. CO said, "try using real eyes and not the ones painted on your face".
Today. FTF 11:22. Not had one of those for a while.
Thanks Rubbishparty.

Found an empty eclipse tin at the coordinates. Difficult to extract without tott. Hint? Hmm.
Thanks for the message. Apologies that we missed out part of the hint. Have now corrected it which should help.
