After staying in the free camp 8km out of town - we relocated the caravan for a few hours to the lake front here in Kingston. While hubby was working - I wandered the nearby tracks grabbing a few caches and then I jumped on my bike and rode to Lumsden. Bit of a silly idea as it was hot dry and windy. Broke up the trip with a few caches and a quick stop here.TFTC

This day:Shortly before 6am I left the motorhome in Lumsden to set off on an epic mountainbike adventure. First from Lumsden to Garston along the Around the Mountains trail. The up the mountain to do the Welcome Rock single trail experience. Then all the way down again to complete the Around the Mountains trail to Kingston where I arrived shortly after 4pm. Wow, what a day it was! Many kilometers, great mountain views and of course I stopped for some caches along the way. This cache:Quick find at gz, tftc!

I agree what a wonderful resource this cycle trail is - such a great surface and all those well constructed bridges. Sorry to say your cache was muddy but I did my best to make sure the log was dry. T4tc

We are a French couple working at Garston Hops during a month. We h1d a walk in Garston and to the river. Our bosses are used to fish and swin in this river. The cache was easy to find. I forgot to bring a pencil with me so here is a photo of the logbook.
Greetings from France.

A nice quick find. Thanks for placing your cache. Occaisionally signed MK+KR on some of the caches today, and apologies for the generic logs.

Ms_KR and I are heading to Invercargill for a tramping club 75th jubilee, so we left a bit early in hope that the weather would be fine, so we could get a bit of caching in. So far it has been good, fingers crossed for the rest of the time away.

Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches.

On my way home from a Mega event at Rutherglen. It was amazing. Had time to pick one more cache up on my way home.
Quick find. Was wet but waterproof paper saved the log. Tipped all the water out and dried log. Best as I could

Ruru-NZ and I are or have been on Stewart Island doing the Geotour caches as a priority but any others found are a bonus for me.

Walked right to it. Outer covering a bit dusty and second a bit wet but cache log all good

23-Oct-22
Kiwicampnut and I finally managed to coordinate ourselves having been over to the island we have finished my PWGT5 caches and making good progress on hers while finding others along the way.
This is one placed since I was last up here.
How many cycle camps now girls? I was a leader with your current leader on the first and second camps. Mind the dust on the road ahead, esp if you are asthmatic. As support vehicle I had to transport a guide down this track to the bridge on the first camp.
Hope you all had a great time on the water once you reached the end of the cycle part.
Thanks for the cache WindsorGuides

Stopped here with dakotacats on our way home to Dunedin. An easy find and then we spent time looking over the nearby bridge. It's a lovely river. TFTC

22-Oct-22
4Clubs and I were heading home to Dunedin via Kingston so this was a stop on our way. The cache was easily found and then we walked back to the bridge and had a look at the river. We spotted 4 HUGE trout just below the bridge. We saw many fisherman along the river in both directions but none here - and this was where all the fish were! My Dad (fluffyduck38) was a keen fisherman and he would have been in his element here - geocaching and fishing. TFTC

Have had my eye on this one for a while. After getting a hot lamb sandwich and a coffee from The Coffee Bomb I decided to find it. Looks like there has been a flood, but cache safe and dry.
Good cache

Had a quiet Christmas day with my elderly mother but decided to head away for a drive as was a lovely evening. Noticed that this was still unfound despite many tourists driving right by and logg others, so we did a sideways skid off SH 6 to see if we were first! And we are!!
Thanks to the Guides group for placing it here
Found with downsouthinv and Abbykitt

After a quite Christmas day and getting everything done and sorted we pick up and meandered our way up state hyw 6 as we got closer to the one the navigator said let's pick up a cache.
A quick detour and what a surprise (FTF) AT 20.30 . As there have been a few caches loged in the area over the last few days.
This is a cool area and the bridge used to be a road /rail bridge when the Kingston flyer steam train ran between lumsden and Kingston.
But now it's part of the around the mountains trail yay .

Getting out and about in to the out doors is my happy place so any excuse to go caching.

Life is short. Live one foot step at a time.Never say" I'm gonna "- Just do it!!
Thanks for the hide
