Hi there coral.sea.cat, we found your cache Half Tide Turtle Park today. Its day 19 of our geocaching trip to Mackay. We are definitely enjoying the country geocaches more than the city ones. So today were doing another rural cache run. Last time we were here, we attempted a very difficult multi. Its probably a good thing that it has since been archived.Coordinate Accuracy: We found this cache near where our GPS said we should be looking. Cache Condition: Good. Regards Ian & Penny (Found and logged using Cachly).
We are enjoying the drive along the beach and the may different sea views around here. This a well maintained park area here. Cache easily found .
After QOGM 2023 in Longreach, TBU went on a round trip via Mount Isa, Burketown, Karumba, Ravenshoe, Atherton Tablelands down to Innisfail to Townsville. Now we are heading towards South back home, still refreshing our memories and collecting smileys. It was a nice variety of hides and we bumped into couple of cachers on the way. Thanks for this cache,Coral.sea.cat
After having spent couple of weeks up North in Queensland, we are now heading back home - but still looking for smileys! We found this cache and signed the log.Tftc
Left the car at the memorial and decided to walk to this series of caches.

Out this morning with a plan. Hay Point, Salonica Beach and Louisa Bay. It was hot and humid, Mr D was my driver and sat with the doggies while I did the searching, which is not much fun on your own. The thought of snakes and spiders always in the back of my mind as I enter these beach side areas. However, we did manage 11 out of 16 (yes, I know that is 5 DNFs, but I may go back again sometime.
Yet another DNF. Left Mr D in the car with the doggies, and walked into this lovely park. Close enough to GZ, but obviosly not enough. Could not find this cache today. But I was not looking in the right place, was guided by my GPS.

Found a different cache container in the car, not quite the right size, but will see how long this one lasts.
Cache is missing. Didn't have the right size/shape container with me to replace today.

Mackay to Sarina
Having an overnight stay to find some of the caches in the Sarina & Hay Point area.
This was a good way to tour the are and we found a good variety of caches some in places we had not visited before.
Thankyou coral.sea.cat for placing this cache.
This is the second day of the drive from Brisbane to Townsville and today I, along with Fangsoki, Crew 153 and 1MinnieMoo are doing the Rockhampton to Mackay leg. I've never driven north of Rocky, so this is all new to me. But, I'm in the backseat today, meaning even the notorious Marlborough stretch went by quickly as I read and wrote.
After a lunch stop in Sarina, we press a bit farther north, and head east towards Hay Point. I think I never realised this is such a township! On our itinerary was another geocache nearby and truly I don't argue all that much and am happy to roll out to whichever icon is next. While we sorted that out, it became apparent we were within a short walk of this geocache. Looks interesting, why not!?
On the walk I found a traffic cone which I donned as a hat for a laugh. We arrived at GZ and there were a few options presented to us. But thankfully, four sets of eyes really cover ground quickly. After a minute or two Fang found the little hide - probably where two of us had already looked.
Roght about 13:40 the logbook was signed, then all replaced back as found. While in this park, I noticed how the shade structures are far more substantial than at home - both shadier and more cyclone proof! Thanks for this geocache, coral.sea.cat

A 9 day roadtrip to Townsville and back to Brisbane in the Fangsoki Pajero with the usual cast of cachers.
We were in the area tracking down another cache which we had on our list and happened to be close to this one so took the short walk to check it out as a bonus find for us. We spread out to search all the likely spots and the cache was soon in hand.

1MinnieMoo, Captain Terror, Crew 153, and I were in the area grabbing a few caches - this one was on the list.
We all took a look at the general area. I eventually found the well-hidden prize. We signed the log and returned it to its home. A great little cache and area. TFTC coral.sea.cat

Now I've been here several times searching without any luck searching for turtles, counting turtles, getting a different answer again and no cache again. Was happy when Marg found this one where I have glanced.

It was day two of the Trudge to Townsville for Fangsoki, Captain Terror, Crew153 and I, heading from Rockhampton to Mackay. Our goal along the way is to collect particularly older caches, with one or two odd other caches thrown in.
As we were here on another mission, we decided we at had to go that little bit further and grab this cache at the same time.
A spot of searching from all and Fangsoki soon had the prize in hand.
Thanks for the cache coral.sea.cat.
