Tasmania Trip Day 7. I only stayed in Queenstown overnight, but I got a great feel for the place and would love to spend more time here. My target today was Hobart, but although the total distance did not seem too high, the nature of some of the roads and the lack of towns made for a longer sparser trip than I had expected. There were plenty of great nature spots along the way and when I did at last reach a bigger spot, New Norfolk, I had an enjoyable time exploring the town. I had expected more in Hamilton, but alas did not even get lunch there. After getting into Hobart I checked into my motel in Battery point and headed out on foot. I visited the coastal section of the pint end finished in Salamanca place for dinner and a few virtual caches before heading back up the hill to my accommodation. This is such a small frontage that I did not see where to go until I had driven past twice. I made the short walk up to the old site and was happy to locate this cache without any problems. Thanks for the cache thehunnybunnys45958.27 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2013 Compass Rose Quetzalcoatl A#271**Albida**
Lots of interesting bones, mainly rabbits, some that are very clearly much bigger than rabbits. Some spooky energy
Accurate coordinates made this a quick find , all's good at gz . Thanks thehunnybunnys
Yay, Found it.
parkrun, disc golf, BBQ lunch, and now a few geocaches - I'm happy with that.
Thanks thehunnybunnys, for the cache and the adventure.

Cache was out in the open (see previous log which explains why). Cache needs maintenance and is currently hidden under a rock to protect it from brush cutting.
Maintenance recommended. Cache is out in the open, magnets are missing, neighbour reported risk of even more damage or complete loss. See previous logs for more information.
Today Zozetta and I headed out to the Claremont area with the aim of finding a few caches. We started the day at Windermere bay then drove towards Granton finding some good caches along the way. We discovered some places that we had never been to before found a good variety of container sizes and types. It was good to be out caching again after two weeks without attempting one.
We parked across the road from GZ and made our way up to the cache. We got to GZ and began searching the only magnetic structure we could see to no avail. After a while we were considering giving up as the cache didn’t seem to be there anymore and previous finders had commented that it needed maintenance. As we were about to leave, a man walked up to us with an eclipse tin in his hand and asked if that was what we were looking for, he said that he had found it on the ground yesterday and was going to look up geocaching to see what it was and whether or not the container belonged to someone. We explained to him what it was and showed him the log book inside before signing it. We had a good conversation with him about the graveyard and chapel before he went back to his house. We replaced the cache under the metal structure (it didn’t have a magnet) though it probably won’t last long there. The guy also warned us as we were leaving that someone regularly cuts the grass at GZ and might hit the cache with his brush cutter.
Cache definitely needs maintenance and possibly archiving.
Thanks for the cache thehunnybunnys!

Strange happening - a very nice muggle from next door brought the cache to us, he found it and took it to look up what geocaching was, then saw us and thought we might be looking for it. Not sure if you want to return to hide it better (did it once have a magnet?)? Compromised now. Great spot with fascinating history. The gentleman seemed pretty keen to get rid of it as he’s concerned the man who brush-cuts might hit it with his whippersnipper… I suspect it may disappear soon!
Found the cache on the ground, signed and replaced, needs maintainance. Not able to go where hint indiates and in danger of water damage.

Second finder for today with this one.
I grew up near here and would have travelled past thousands of times… and… I had no idea this was here.

Wasn't to sure about the location of this one, felt like we were going on to someone's property to start with.
Has sparked an interest, bit of research to follow I think

Clever hide and wonderful location. A hidden gem of a spot. Never knew it was an old church here. Thanks for the story and cache.
Another bit of interesting information associated with this cache. A quick find was made.
was about to give up and then my boyfriend found it just as we were about to leave and then we felt real dumb tftc! ️
Decided to take a chance with the weather and also take small grandson on a treasure hunt.
The weather actually turned out to be very good, clear, windless and pleasant even in the mountains as we made our way between Huonville and New Norfolk.
On the way home decided (at last) to pick this one up - had been so close on a number of occasions. An interesting spot and a little different. Pity there is no historical sign to give us more info.

Moved from Brighton to Hobart showground today out this afternoon for a few caches, TFTC.
So I guess this site can never be built on if there are unmarked graves here. Interesting history.
Another location I didnt know about before, it's a bit of an odd one this one with so little left I can understand why I have never spotted it before, cache was found after a few minutes.
A day out caching with Goose today as Budgietas was just out of ISO and wanted to see the real world, so Goose and I grabbed a few I had missed and a few Goose had missed when I was out with Budgie.
Thanks for the cache.

An interesting location that I never know about. We both missed the cache on our first look but eventually a proper look by SSR reveled the treasure!
I was going to take as photo as we left but Mrs whitewebbs rang me and I totally forgot to take it.
Thanks thehunnybunnys
After a couple of weekends doing other things (ISO due to being a close contact after being away the long weekend previous), it was good to get out again. Budgie had just been released and had exciting adventures planned for himself (you know, the Supermarket and that kind of thing) so stainless steel rat and I decided in what we call a 'clean up run' where we go and find the new suburban hides that have been published, or one of us had found without the other.
It was a day out caching.

In the area today, so found some time to stop and have a look for this cache. My, there is a house very close! Anyway, no sign of anyone, so it was a quick find, sign the log and return.

After a stressful day at work, I decided I should blow of some steam by a little geocaching. So decided that the caches around New Norfolk would be a good area to target. Found 6 caches, and fairly quickly, with only one taking a little searching.
Lovely modern church that I have often seen driving past on the highway. This cache took a little to find, compared to the others for the day, it was the second place we looked.
Thank you for the cache

A sneaky spot here... the grave site up there confirmed it for me that the land isn't private as i tend to be nervous in this situation.
The find was made in the 2nd place i looked
The cache and contents are in great condition and dry.

Found this one pretty quickly. Kids didn't see me locate it, so I left for them to find. After asking them a few questions to provoke thought about how they might conceal something, my daughter very quickly had it in hand. TFTC.
How in the heck did you even find this place. So sad how it's been abandoned to the rabbits and the headstone left behind

Hi thehunnybunnys, thank you for this cache in a place I wouldn't have known about, that is why we love it. Wandered in the paddock and found the remnants of the Mansfield Family Vault along with the cache which was nicely hidden away from view. Had a great time finding your caches today thank you for all your hides.
Like the COs, we had no idea that there had been a church and cemetery at this location. Today we went to look for the cache. Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks thehunnybunnys for the cache.
