Reperio 11:25Day 4 of our trip to Wagga Wagga, and Master Vitruvius and I headed out early this morning to round up a few more caches before heading for home. Our goal for the morning was to find the caches around Albert Lake, but not before going for a bush stroll for a couple. By mid morning we were headed for home stopping by and picking up a few along the way. I missed getting to Jugiong last caching trip, so we visited the series along the old road. Perfect day to be out and about.Gratias Sui_001As a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV

A beautiful sunny Spring day out-and-about picking up a string of caches all while targeting rope climbing caches. It took a long time to locate the cache. After climbing two trees on either side of the road with GZ in the middle of the road. It was finally spotted in the leaves below the very bushy lower tree but only just visible after moving the barrel in desperation to make the find. We have replaced the cache firmly between two branches at hip height to keep it out of the ground. The container is still in good condition although the hanging mechanism is broken. TFTC Sui_001!

Cache # 11364 on 28 Jul 2024Out to Bookham on a very cold and windy morning with Aquilus1 and TikvaNZ to collect some caches that none of us had found (mostly). Decided to grab the ones along Bodkins Road, except for the first one which we will have to come back for with reinforcements. All the rest were pretty easy finds with a mix of containers and terrains. We tried to minimise our time outside the car, it was bitter outside! And of course it was still and blue skies in the bra! Will have to come back to get some more numbers another day! Quick find unless otherwise stated! Thank you Sui_001 for the cache and the fun!

28-Jul-24
A bit of a plan hatched for some caching out past Bookham this morning. With AngelG and Tikva we set of at a leisurely morning time with the warmth of the car perfect for this cool and windy day. Staying close to the car for our caches worked nicely and a good selection of different types through the time we were out. The icy wind blew through, so thankfully most caches were quick, the car seats warmed and waiting for the return back inside!!! Caches were signed as our names or initials. A nice morning out and I was introduced to a little shop this day, that I'm sure will see me return. Thanks for the cache!Last of this side road, all good here. Onwards!

In the area with woolwood9 today. Wasn't expecting much rain as the area looked really dry - sure the farmers were pleased to get it.However for us it caused some frustration with rain off and on again today.*We managed to get the container found here!* SL *tm/ww NZ*Thanks for the reason to stop and appreciate the effort in setting up these caches!Took a bit of searching before finding this one.

A nice side-drive along the freeway - glad we decided to take the old Highway road. Some fun caches along here. Smile*The generic bit* On our way to the GeoBash Mega in Canberra. We started geocaching just before the Easter Mega event in Rutherglen last year and will celebrate our 1000th find at this Mega. Thanks to the organisers, sponsors, volunteers and all the COs who make these events a great success.

TFTC Sui_001 your cache Benangaroo that we found today. We are slowly making our way to the Canberra Geobash. We arrived in Jugiong mid-morning with the intention of only caching as far as Bookham. As it turned out we ended upon chasing caches to Bowning. No point in sitting around the Motorhome when there are plenty of caches to be found. An afternoon of frogs, turtles, snakes and a hand series up the old Hume highway. 42 finds for the day.Find Count: 19174

The Drovers asked me if I wanted to join them for a Geocaching trip around the Yass area with the main focus of higher D/T ratings. There were a few nast I mean difficult caches, creative hides/containers and a couple of P&Gs to add to the find list. We both found a mixture of caches I found but they hadnt, caches they had found but I hadnt and ones and one neither of us had found. We started with the caches down south part of the Yass area and slowly made our way back, and got back to Yass for lunch. Off we went again and found some caches round the centre of Yass and off for some back road driving. We finished up around 5:30pm and went our separate ways. I headed off and found three more caches before heading home. TB visit. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. Big Grin TFTCs Big Grin

I am heading to Cape York in a month - I am flying up but a friend from Canberra is driving to Cairns and I am meeting him there got the last haul. He has offered to take some gear up, so after driving to Yass last night and collecting quite a few caches I headed to Canberra this morning to drop it off. Plenty of time for caches on the way and a nice little run down the old highway on the way home.Last one on this stretch of road. No need for the step that has been left for me - I am tall enough to reach this one.TFTC Sui_001

I decided to collect a few caches on the way to Wollongong today. I looked at this series and despite having the ladder in the boot, I thought I had better not collect any high ones today while on my own. Sorry for the generic log on some of these finds.

Catching up with late logs

We formulated a plan a month ago to meet up with alansee, mclookers, maccamob micaparamedic, moonb1, muzza and pprass to try our luck at some challenges and also any other series and other random caches that were around before heading to the rutherglen Mega event.

We certainly surrounded gz here and the ones that came in from the correct side were very quick to make a find. Getting the log book took a little bit more effort but wasn't too bad and our name has been added to the log
A team, a cache, a smilie
Many thanks for the cache, we signed as Vic1 to save room in the logs.

Albury to Jugiong, have camped at the sports grounds
After setting up took a run down the side track next to the highway, there was such a variety of cache containers found , some very impressive handy work using the plastic printer. Also various DT ratings.
Some of the higher ones we knew our ladder we not reach so we continued on.
Some took longer to find than expected but we are happy with what we did find.
Thanks for placing your cache.

Spending a few days on the road with Wilbert as we travel to and from the Whittlesea Mega event.
Having a great time finding an array of different types and D/T rated caches.
Thanks to all the CO’s for hiding your particular cache.
Day 4 and it’s home time, but not before we make a few stops along the highway.
My apologies for the boiler style log.

While heading south with ilook4geo we decided to take a detour off the highway and have some fun finding the caches along this stretch of road. Some we left for another time and some of the logs are saturated, so they could not be signed. The rest were OK. Thanks go to Sui_001 for placing this cache.

Perseverance paid off in spite of the sticky weed, feathertop did her koala impression here very effectively.

21-Aug-22
Off for a couple of days caching with BettyBoo3747 and the geo-doggies.
Out through Gundagai and onto Jugiong.
A lovely sunny day today but we could see where there had been heaps of rain in the area.
This meant that a lot of the caches were full of water and could do with some TLC.

This was the last of the series we did today. Probably should have started at this end.
Thanks for these interesting caches.
Thanks, Robmc.

21-Aug-22
#19578. Robmc and I decided to have a couple of days away and we decided the Jugiong area might be the place to go. Unfortunately with so much rain in the area recently it meant that both the land and nearly all of the caches were wet and in need of maintenance checkups.

Finished with the Challenge caches for today and now making our way back to Jugiong. The 3D containers although pretty amazing, unfortunately have still suffered from water damage along with the normal types of containers.

Last one for today and now time for a rest before dinner at Jugiong Motel.

Thanks Sui_001

In the area, and made some time to grab a few caches.
Most caches found in good condition. Signed and replaced.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Sui_001, for us and others to find.

At last there was a partial change in the weather today. Still very cold, but no rain and the wind has dropped off so we took the opportunity to do a loop from Harden down through Bookham and Jugiong and do some caching.
There were a variety of hides and differing terrains, some easy and some beyond our TOTTs capabilities. At least one we had to walk away from because it was too wet and cold for wading.
A nice lunch at Jugiong rounded out a well spent day.

Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Sui_001.

Canberra Day long weekend trip to Wangaratta. After spending the Mega weekend down at Wangaratta, there was so much more to do that a plan was hatched to visit again to do the Warbies Challenges and the Old Coach Road. A team of Joolay, Kitty Katch, FurfacesLL, Fitzy_1965 & MinnieK and I came together for this trip. Day 1. I headed off after work, knowing it was going to be late when I arrived, bit I had a short list of caches to do along the way. It was dark by the last few and then I had to set up camp in amongst a horse weekend in the Oxley Reserve.

I started looking on the wrong side of the road, but soon zeroed in on a like area and found another of these fantastic 3D printed containers.

Thanks for the cache Sui_001

27,007. During a fantastic day of caching out this way we were with the CO and helped him place this cache.

The other day we were out here ticking off all the new caches along here admiring all the 3D printed containers, when the CO - as COs do - wanted to place more out. We picked a few interesting locations that seemed to fit the theme of this road series, and now that it has been found I am claiming my find (although I'm pretty sure we'll be out this way again soon as that's always how caching seems to work!!).

Thanks Sui_001 !! Another fun day out.

19-Feb-22
After having a walk and coffee with my Walking Group, I pondered on how to spend the rest of this beautiful sunny day. I love driving in the country so decided that was the way to go. I knew geofriends had recently found caches around Jugiong so I researched that area. Even though we often travel that way it is usually with the van in tow which understandably discourages Pa from caching along the way. Why not I thought? So after loading up Monty, my GPSr, I headed off.

Getting towards the end now. This was a really quick find but the retrieval was another matter. It would have been funny except that I was getting pretty tired and it was extremely difficult for me to actually reach the cache and get the log out . Then I discovered that I didn't have a pen so had to return to my car but luckily found my original again as I was trying to replace the cache as found. Phew that was draining trying to sign that log. TFTC Sui_001
