I am back in Tauranga to sign off the completion of the P2P caches and the REALLY Side Tracked series in the Western Bay area plus a few others that might get in the way.It wasn't me, your honour, I was framed!Cheers for the cache, Geckoh.
Working on finding all the geocaches on this segment of track up until the closed section. Number 3 for today done and dusted. TFTC
Thanks for your amazing cache Geckoh. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches.Found with Fisha1288 Cheers, Cympull.
Have replaced the Bison container, has a nice clean dry log sheet for the next finder!
We initially looked in slightly the wrong spot after making an assumption based on previous finds in the series. But suddenly Mrs Coblet spotted it literally right in front of her nose. The log was quite wet on this one but signable with care. Time for just one more. TFTC
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit & doing the things that we want to do we are currently parked up at the Welcome Bay (Tauranga) NZMCA Campsite we decided that we would take our bikes out to the Kaituna Wetland & park up there ride from there to Papamoa & back, have some lunch then walk the Kaituna Wetland Track the cache was easily found, log book completed & replaced had to be a bit careful with lots of muggle cyclists zipping past on a regular basis pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #4,730 for us!
Heading north with tmann421 for a few days. This was day three with plenty of miles for us to cover.Enjoyed the hide hereGreat trail along hereSigned log tm/ww NZTFTC
Good find with woolwood9 on a few days away.*This was the main area for us today - we got a shock with the signs at start (or finish) by P2P 25 where there were barriers and signs saying cycleway CLOSED. However detour took us to access near P2P 11 so we started there. Track is blocked off heading towards the higher number caches on the trail as well.*We enjoyed the trail and good caches for us to visit!SL *tm/ww NZ*Thanks for the cache.
Have been meaning to tackle these two series for ages, and was hoping to knock them off before the end of 2023 to hit our 500, but just didn't quite get there. So, did the next best thing and hit them up on the first day of 2024 instead!Number 16 on the hit list today. Cache is in reasonable condition. A bit tricky to retrieve for those of us on the shorter side, leaning over, but was able to get it and return it. Log was very wet so I took a bit of time to try and dry it in the sun while having a drink. Not sure that it will last long though and CO may want to replace with some waterproof paper...Anyway, thanks again for the placement. Yay! Another smiley!
Out and about with the shoebs family.Another nice quick, easy, find, grab, sign, and flee.TFTC
Nice bit of camo work on this cache....
In the area today with junior cacher and Mrs stik-a-crane for some RNR, and luckily the weather decided to play ball for the time we were visiting.
Spotted this trail and managed to lock in accommodation reasonably close by, but still decided to drive closer to the trail start......was going to park at the boat ramp, but due to recent heavy rain, that option had been flooded, and no longer an option, so went a little further down the road, set up the bikes, and set off along the trail.....
The cache was all good.
TFTC.

Luckily I’ve got some long arms, kiwitrecker1 left this retrieval to me. TFTC!!
I needed a decent bike ride today and I could not ignore this trail any longer.
Bit of a difficult reach for this one.

With the Geotour coming to and end soon Yvettetb and I decided to go on a road trip to collect Tahi and Rua. Of course I had some puzzles at various places to collect and a few special types were added to the list too.
Today's plan was to get a few caches around Rotorua with high favourite points. We then wanted to head up to Tauranga via a few PWGT caches. As it turned out we only got one cache in Rotorua this morning as it was drizzling so we headed north to avoid the rain.
Our initial plan was only grabbing a couple of puzzles. With the nice weather we enjoyed a walk along this cycleway. Liking the hides and the titles on this series of caches, thankyou

Bit hard to reach if vertically challenged but managed in the end. Log is very full
A nice quick find. I found most of the caches on the trail, but not all. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off on our annual pilgrimage to Auckland to visit family. Today we cruised from Whakatane to Cambridge.. The weather was fine and warm, and the Christmas traffic is stating to build!
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

Spotted quickly just after the gps beeped, good timing. Log is full, had none on us
Got off work at lunchtime and headed out to enjoy the sunny winters day. Cold but not a cloud in the sky. Returned to complete this P2P series. Have driven past so many times and imagined I would return here with a bike but instead had to walk it. Still enjoyable with all the varied hides to break up the walk. Wasn’t looking forward to the flax hides however with the clear hints they were no problem. Took 2 hours to collect the remaining 18 caches. Cache and log all fine here. Nicely tucked away. Thanks Geckoh for all your effort in setting up the series.
Khonig and I have been talking about doing the Papamoa to Paengaroa trail series for a while now... and with the added bonus of completing some puzzle caches along the trail we decided that today was the day. Weather was brilliant... no rain and just enough cloud to keep us from over heating. Between us we had two cars so decided to be strategic about placement of the cars so we only had to do the trail once... thank goodness because we had tired feet by the time we were finished. Thanks so much for all the caches along the trail... a very well maintained and enjoyable experience.
By the time we got here we'd really started to get into the flow of the caches and started guessing where we might find them... happy to say we were mostly right

5 June 2022 17:20 tricky spot to reach and retrieve in the fading light. Eventually I Mcgyvered guy something that worked to grab and replace. TFTC
Plan was to walk and cache this power trail until I needed to be heading to mt Maunganui. Found most but not all. .
Out walking the P2P trail in reverse numerical order from south to north this morning.
Quickly spotted the cache here but had to wait for some cyclists to go past before making the retrieval. Thanks.

Didn't have to be told twice where this guy was I saw this one as I approached it as it was sticking out in the open,so signed the log and tucked away from muggle view.
Thanks for the placement and the smiley

The retrieval is not for short arses. Well I guess the frame is just right! Thanks for the cache geckoh
Thats small....the GPS had me very close here I leaned my bike against the said post ..how cool or lucky is. that..if I had known I wouldn't have left the bike seat so to speak thanks Geckho
Needing some fresh air and exercise after a few days if inclement weather and a break from the computer (trying to solve a geckho puzzle), teamed up with Dee+ME. Armed with our bikes and fingers crossed it won’t rain off we went. Bit tricky to retrieve.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Logged with permission. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

Today is the day, regardless of the rain, that McJandals and I are doing this trail. Thanks for placing these caches.

A great day for biking this trail and gathering some smileys as we go. Started at the Gordon Spratt Reserve, morning tea at the Kaituna wetlands - they're looking fabulous - lunch at Makatu then caching again on our way back. 49km all up, 32 caches and no DNFs. Cache is all good. TFTC
Ooooh how exciting, a new trail of caches on a cycle path, and in the direction we're going!
Having joined up with mr rattll again, we left Kawerau and headed here. Mrs rattll headed off on the bike and this time it was mr rattlls time to do the dog sitting.
It took a little dexterity to conquer this one.
Thanks for putting all these caches on this cycleway

Finally we had a weekend free and this new trail gave us the opportunity to get back out on the bikes and dependent on the number of successful finds, also gain the final summit challenge souvenir which we had almost given up on.
ROS had been on this cycleway several times before but at a much faster pace than today.
There were a lot of passing muggles who offered help thinking we had lost something and the occasional runner who must have wondered why we made such slow progress when he passed us on his return!
We had been expecting someone to set this trail up so it wasn’t a complete surprise when the caches were published. Enjoyable trail TFTC.

7924 After seeing this trail pop up over the weekend I decide to get on my bike and collect them. Parked at the northern end and took me just over 3hrs to do the round trip. with only 1 DNF. Will have to comeback for that one. Enjoyed the trail with interesting hides some of which I found a challenge to find. Thank you for all the effort in creating these caches.
Cache quickly spotted but the challenge was retrieving and then replacing the lid Got there in the end.

This was our 2nd cache of the day. We loved the view from here to the cows on the opposite side of the highway. Decided to take a photo - but had to laugh when Mrs L's first attempt included a great shot of a big truck in the background.
Found it

Time to get the bikes out and tackle this trail. The first challenge was to navigate our way through all the new housing down Papamoa. We parked down the end of Te Okuroa Drive and hopped on.
Nice easy start out around the pond and on to the trail We have been waiting a long time for someone to set up a trail along here and really looking forward to it
Loved this picture but it was a bit high for me to get at this little cutie but with Richards help it was done TFTC

Off with ABCDF4 for the weekend, sat ended up with the Squirrel and Davidson Clan on the trail from Papamoa south boardering the motorway. Neat walk, good hides and a beer at he end compliments of Fap & Gap.Thanks to Cos for placements, Highly recommend.
Off on a weekend awayHeading for the Beachgot a call from squirrel Nutcase to see if we wanted to join him, there is New P2P trail.Didn't take to much persuasionAwesome Trek, hints spot on Nice hide a bit differentThanks to the CO Lots of time gone into this trail
With (Mr) Davidson Clan, ABCDF4 and eyespyben… Our Huntly friends responded to our invite to walk the P2P trail, and we were able to park a vehicle at either end…
A quick cache to locate, but a tricky one to retrieve. My approach wasn’t the best. I stepped aside and (Mr) Davidson Clan took over. He’s either got better reach or has had more practice. Thanks Geckoh and TFTC.

Ahh yes, the smell of dairy farms...not too stinky but enough to know we're away from the city...although probably not too long given the growth of paps.
Didnt know bisons came in that size all good. Why did I choose the hottest part of the day for this.
Excellent to see a power trail taking shape along this walkway - it's something we'd long talked about but lacked motivation. I made my way over to gz 3 hours after publication unsure if the [FTF]s were still there - but happy to find that they were. It was pretty close though considering I met Grifter13, kimbathelion and buzzybb on my wander... This was the first fifteen publications of the series and all the hides were all straight forward with good hints, accurate coords and reliable containers. We expect nothing less from the 14 year geocaching veterans - Team Geckoh. TFTC Jeepers that's small too - will the next one be a nano? Lets go see. **Early 2015 a group of Tauranga based cachers started a [BOP Geocaching Facebook Page](https://www.facebook.com/groups/GeocachingBOP/).240 cachers currently make up this [Closed](https://www.facebook.com/help/220336891328465#What-are-the-privacy-options-for-groups) group where we organise various geocaching events and excursions as well as share information and friendly banter.
