Logs
Up in Orewa for a few days with ABCDF4Some great caches up here Thanks to the CO for a enjoyable time in Orewa
With rebel98, on the bikes plus muggle. Plan to cycle around the estuary finding a couple of caches along the way At a Cito last year the co had a devilish hide, today thought back to that hide, and looked, and there it was. Rebel98 liked it too
Oh yes we got it!!!! We were really struggling with this one and even had text Gorby to see if he had any clues for us. While we were waiting for him to reply Mr KBclan listened to my advice from previous logs and started looking for the attachment rather than the cache and then suddenly he saw it. Def deserved a FP from us. We all enjoyed it. TFTC
We figured what this one would likely be, but the previous dnfs had me giving up the hunt pretty quickly and I decided to PAF. The oldest kid, however, does not like to give up, so he spotted while I was busy getting help! TFTC
After picking up a vinyl in Millwater, this was a very logical next pickup. I was puzzled for a while, until I realised a key distinction that was likely to make the cache stand out, and once I started searching for that, I was quickly rewarded with the wonderfully constructed cache - FP added. TFTC!
Was looking in all the wrong spots, then changed my thought pattern and spotted it straight away, very very coolTFTC
**20,776**We had brought the bike for such a pathway as this. Set off with the intention of finding a few and hopeful not to DNF any as we currently already had a DNF along this pathway. This cache required quite a search but was pleased to make the find in the end. Yet another very clever cache container worthy of another favourite point. TFTC
From Pretoria South Africa.TFTC.Found with VinnigeVoete.This one took some time but clever hiding place.Already found caches in the following countries:1 South Africa, 2 New Zealand, 3 Australia, 4 USA, 5 Spain, 6 Portugal, 7 Latvia, 8 Estonia, 9 Finland, 10 Andorra,11 Antigua and Barbuda, 12 Saint Lucia, 13 St Kitts, 14 Netherlands Antilles, 15 Qatar, 16 Mozambique, 17 Swaziland, 18 France,19 Belgium, 20 Italy, 21 Croatia, 22 Montenegro, 23 Greece, 24 Slovenia, 25 Netherlands 26 Botswana, 27 Namibia, 28 Russia, 29 Turkey, 30 Zambia, 31 Tanzania, 32 Kenya,, 33 Rwanda, 34 Uganda, 35 Malawi, 36 Zimbabwe,37 Singapore , 38 UK England, 39 Ireland, 40 Germany, 41 Zchekia, 42 Poland, 43 Austria, 44 Hungary, 45 Slovakia, 46 Liechtenstein, 47 Switzerland, 48 Luxembourg 49 Mexico 50 Egypt, 51 Israel, 52 Jordan
On our journey through New Zealand today of course a search in Orewa, but we are overwhelmed by the offer here. Thank you very much to CO for laying this cache. With warm geocache greetings from the Netherlands
Heading north to Whangarei with rattll. Stopped in Orewa for lunch, and to get some caches. Our final cache along this walkway, and it was the toughest one of them all. For twenty minutes, rattll and I went around and around this tree, hunting for any evidence of a hide. Pausing to reconsider, I changed my point of focus, looking not for an obvious container, but how a not so obvious container could be attached. This was a rather more successful strategy, and I soon had the cleverly camouflaged cache in hand. FP from me. All good in the container. Signed, and returned as found. Tftc!
We're on our way north and decided to enjoy a leisurely walk to grab some caches after we'd had a coffee and a bit of lunch. From reading the previous logs, we knew this one was going to be challenging and it didn't disappoint. Despite having a good idea what we'd be looking for, it took a long time before matagouri finally spotted the clever little hide. Thanks for setting this up
This had us baffled for quite a while. We thought we had worked out what we were looking for, and reading previous logs confirmed this and redirected our thinking slightly. It still took us quite a few laps and looking from just the right angle to make the find. Definite Fav.
Awesome little find, took me a while to find it though the name gave away what I was trying to find!
Saw there were plenty of fav points on this one so had to come for a visit. Looked in a few spots then Mr B had a light bulb moment and then cache was spotted quickly. A great Camo job here and we will add to the favs.Ooh look how close we are to 5000 finds!!Thank you G-2 for placing this cache.Log signed as B&PFind number 4999
Very punny. Not sure we got all of them but thanks to previous log we avoided the fir and mr j had spotted one in the hint which made for a quite quick find without too much head banging. Getting to the log required head scratching NINO TFTC
After a few minutes with the lovely smelling fir tree, we took a closer look at the neighbour and made an easy find. Tftc
A trip to Orewa to collect the information for the adventure lab and any other caches that we passed on our walk. Arrived at GZ and quickly had an idea what we might be looking for. I wasnt wrong. Another very well camoed cache. Glad to have found this one after the previous DNF.
We went round and round the tree so many times it almost turned into a mulberry bush, but came up empty handed.
So we went back to the drawing board (what were we thinking bringing that thing with us on a walk?) and refined our search parameters.
The cache then quickly revealed itself much to our relief.
This is such a great hide, very well done, it blends in so well.
Absolutely perfect placement and a favourite point for sure.

My second try here but thanks to an extra hint from CO the cache was found quickly. Not where I was expecting to be, and well camo'd. Tftc
Ha! My fav cache so far! I couldn’t get the log out so didn’t sign. Thanks heaps for all your efforts, keeps us occupied!
I had a couple of missions on my mind today, one was to find a mystery cache for a 'mystery a day challenge' GC9BVFZ (done for the day now) and also because I need to find 100 caches this month for HQ's challenge and you get 3 souvenirs along the way, so numbers are also important.
I have been here before with no luck in finding the cache. So I was thinking.... do I spend more time here today? yes! I have a little bit more insider info granted to me from a previous finder, but I gleaned that after my 2nd search here. At least I made a decent go of it before I relented to the ph call. But even so, my eyes had to be sharp in finding the cache.
But when I did find it, I thought this is very cool! Well worthy of a FP G, and you shall get one, 2 if I was able. Thank you for your efforts.

I am up in Orewa this afternoon to take a walk around the Orewa River Estuary via the Te Ara Tahuna Estuary Cycleway and Walkway. I parked up at the main car park, near the skate park, and started my, better part of, three hour hike and caching expedition. I am heading in the anticlockwise direction. The GPSr was slow to settle around here but I figured out the general GZ of this one. Thought the cache was simply hidden, but a search (or two) of such spots failed to produce the goods. By this time the GPSr had settled and I revised my interpretation of the hint (to the correct one). Now, with bang on coordinates and a clear vision of what I was looking for, the cache was soon tracked down. Having said that, I felt I got lucky as this was a very nicely camoed hide. Easily my favourite cache of the trip; favourite point, therefore, applied. Maybe, this is another one, where D1.5 is a smidge on the low side? Cheers for the great cache placement!
Out and about with the muggle friend I have been staying with. Time to introduce her to geocaching.
This is the second cache a friend Wellington friend recommended for me to find. Knowing his recommendations are always good, it was on my list to find today. And I was, rather, we weren’t disappointed.
Now CD got us confused -yes we were looking for a reflective CD. Instead we found a Munsee tag. However, a friend suggested we look harder and we did. And, of course, we found the cache. Such a fantastic hide. Favourite given with great pleasure.
Kia ora rawa atu for the cache G_2.

Decided at short notice to spend a week in Orewa as our original camping plans had been stymied by the cyclone Gabrielle. Quite a few branches and sticks lying about, but otherwise there doesn't seem to be too much damage here. Lovely weather now and a great geocaching trail around the estuary to explore. Lucky us! This cache earns a fave from us for the fab camo. Cache is all good. TFTC
I came to New Zealand with my wife on honeymoon
It is hard to log all the caches, I found here in New Zealand, so excuse my mass log for caches around Orewa, please
At first i started with caches around Estuary Cycleway, then to Red Beach, Hatfield´s Beach, Millwater and Silverdale. Some of the caches are now disabled as i can see, and some of them were disabled, but were on place.
After consulting with owner I made maintanance on some of disabled and missing caches.
I found many really nice caches...it was awesome, but i think, that some of them (for example Bison caches) have too low D/T combos...but owners are really helpful, so I managed to find each of them. I usually borrowed bike from my brother in law and then in the early morning, or in evening went geocaching. I really liked that routine. So I´m really thankful for all the caches on/near Estuary
I need to write here, that I really like nature in NZ...its a big difference between Europe :/
So – TFTC, guys, and especially The Wonder Stuff for placing and G-2 for placing and hints...and sry for mistakes in my poor English...have a nice day(s) there and u should come to find some caches here in Slovak Republic

This is a very cool find. There is also a QR code there but that seemed to be for a completely different game scavenger hunt called Munzee.com. Seems to be a perfect tree for hiding things in.
Beautiful sunny Boxing Day to do this Orewa to Millwater & back around to Orewa loop.
This was our favourite cache of the day ! Nearly gave up & walked away.....but there it is...great work !

M24: had me and m13 going around for a moment, and then there it was! Nice and easy find, log all good and signed. TFTC.
This was a tricky find, I almost gave up, but then a slightly wider search and suddenly I spotted something that fitted the hint, far out that is cruel, but all good since I found it, TFTC
Hmmm i thought i was in for a long search but thankfully i spied it in reasonable time. Probably my fave camo of the day. TFTC
We are caching around Orewa today to add a few more finds. Arriving at GZ we began a hunt that soon turned up the nicely camoed cache. Thanks.
Out for a wander around the Orewa Estuary with AliGle this pleasant afternoon. Quickly worked out what style this hide could be, but it wasn't where we initially looked. Extended our search a little bit before spotting something suspicious. Very nice hide... fav point added. TFTC!
Such a cool hide. Little wonder some are struggling to spot this one. Great camo. Like looking for a needle in a haystack. A FP from me for sure.
Had just arrived at GZ and pinpointing the tree I needed to look at when I turned around and saw a couple of guys heading towards me, not behaving at all like the other people I had seen this morning and, besides, one of them looked familiar. Turns out I was meeting Tramyard and Rafajaw, also caching before Tramyard's nearby event. Looking at all the obvious places, Tramyard was ahead of me at looking at the not so obvious and found the nicely camoed hide. It brought to mind another not-too-long-ago hide in Waiwera, although not by this CO surprisingly. Nice to meet you Rafajaw! Not often I meet other cachers when I am caching although this is the second time this year (seeing as the time before that was years ago this is saying something!).
Thanks for the nifty (does anyone say that anymore?) hide G_2! FP from me.

First cache of the day. Arrived here in Orewa with RafaJaw before event "Blue Switch Weekend & Te Muri Regional Park" We just couldn`t skip this one while in the area. Bumped into garball at GZ. We obviously started to examine both tree trunks and then when we expanded our point of view , the sneaky cache was spotted shortly afterwards. Legend!
Great joy and such a nice beginning of funny caching day.
TFTF G!

tramyard had very kindly offered to pick me up on the way to the event in Orewa this morning and we had some great chats about all things caching We had arrived a little early, so a plan was made to pick up a few targeted caches that tramyard had selected with one being this highly favourited new CD cache! We had noted that Gorby had recently posted a DNF which made us a little worried, but this CO's camo is always "That good", that it can fool anyone
Enjoyed a nice stroll down the path and noticed someone looking very suspicious and within a few seconds we could tell it was a fellow geocacher. Garball it was, and it was very nice getting to know her before the event starts After a good "Meet n greet", we began searching for this cache, going round and around in circles. Things weren't looking too good for us, but all of a sudden, tramyard had found the sneaky cache hidden in plain sight! The camo was remarkable and something only G-2 would think of... TFTC G-2 and FP given!
LOVE the title of this cache Very cryptic!

We were about to give up when we remembered some of your hiding mechanism that we saw at the event last weekend. We also found the munzee code tag. Thanks for the great cache
I love how you recycle just about anything! FP given for this one, the great camo had us circling a couple of times before it was spotted
Very cool cache here.....thanks G-2 .
Didn't take me long to spot it as something similar once appeared in Supernannny's Ranui Domain!
Love it....
Favourite Point!

Out for a days caching with a crew of Westie ladies, and we had time for a few more caches before heading home. It took a couple of circuits at gz, before S/N spotted what we were all looking for. Very clever camo here and well deserving of a FP. Thanks for the cache and smilie G2
Down from Whangarei on a caching mission with Team G0LD today to get some numbers in the general Orewa area. After a successful detour at Warkworth for a trail of 8 FTF's, we carried on to Orewa proper. Our plan was to do as many around the estuary as possible. One day I will learn to read the cache titles and descriptions properly. Circled around a bit before Lis came up with the great camo cache, exactly as per the title. Definitely a FP here. TFTC
Team G0LD had planned to cache in Orewa today, get 50 caches and clean up that area. Such a nice surprise to see new caches published just out from Warkworth. We made the short diversion out that way and picked up 8 ftfs as a bonus. What a fantastic way to start the day. Grabbed a couple of other ones enroute to clean areas up before reaching our target area.
Loved this one. I've actually got one of these drilled out at home ready to put out. Will use your cork idea I saw earlier as a waterproof seal as I hadn't figured that bit out yet. My last fav point, TFTC

Out with Team Gold this morning (0B80B8 and Liscrew) to collect a few caches to keep our numbers up. Loving the camo on this one. Thanks for keeping it interesting and challenging. TFTC
Now found with help from Team Welsh. Excellent camouflage yet again G2.
Thank you from Howard and Kath

After getting the FTF just down the path it would have been rude not to carry on along to here. On approach spotted a couple of likely hosts, and one had place that would have matched the hint. But what if the cache fell out in the storm yesterday..................and what is that the geohound is crunching on?
Spotted the cache at the right height but how to get the log out? Took longer to work out how to open the cache than it took to find it.
Log signed and replaced, geohound left his mark and dug a hole. Then time to go home for a cup of tea before it rains again.

Out before the rain comes today and close to home is always good to cache. Parked nearby and went for the obvious tree. Took a few sweeps before I found what I was looking for. Very nicely camoed and a blank log book. Thanks g2 for another local cache.
