Today I went for a wee bike ride around the oxbow in the river just to the east of the town.Nope, none of those here today.Cheers for the cache, Natalie247.
With Gap (of Fap and Gap) Were here for Geo Toroa (Dunedin Mega). Between flight cancellations and re-routing, things could only get better, right? But wait, theres more! Somewhere on our caching escapades, I dropped my wallet (Tuesday) Its still at large, so if anyone finds itOne of us usually drives, the other is the retriever. That works for us. Weve either logged caches with our separate handles, or weve used FANGS to sign the logbook. Using the latter handle is more for mental health and well being. Its tiring having to write 15 + characters on each logbook Taking the rural, scenic route today - From Allanton to Balclutha. When we saw the mass of trads dotted along a network of forestry roads, it was agreed that we would give that trail a whirl. It was definitely excellent for numbers All of the caches were in great shape. We were impressed with spot on coords and caches that were freshly checked. It was encouraging to meet one of those COs performing maintenance on the trailNot what we were expecting, but interesting. Thanks Natalie247. TFTC.
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I live full-time in our caravan travelling around NZ, visiting the places we want to visit & doing the things we want to do and fitting in a bit of Geocaching here & there we were passing through Balclutha & decided to stop & stretch our legs by going for a walk we followed the track down round & under the railway bridge there has obviously been a bit of flooding down here recently as the track was quite muddy in places this ended up being an easy find, log book completed & then safely returned to its position Mrs McMike2012 decided that this deserved a Favourite Point, so here it is were pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN:LN:LS this was #6,205 for us!
Last time we were in the area, we continued under the railway bridge to see where the river splits into the Matau and Koau branches, with the tip of Inchclutha between. The gulls on the Inchclutha embankment visiting the tip, returning with tidbits, being mobbed by other gulls... no flamingos!
Great container, but not a lot of time to look at it as the clouds are getting darker.
Taking a young geocaching pal out to grab some handy caches this arvo and this was in our path. When I was here several weeks ago this cache was AWOL. I seen CO had fixed it up since then so turned this one into a smiley today. Super cute !.Tftc.
Out and about with the CO checking the caches in this area. Tova had a wee paddle to cool her down. Nice wee cache. TFTC Natalie247
Seems that this cache should have been a stand-out but no sign of it, neither at the post nor in any of the long grass nearby. Lots of empty RTD and beer bottles at the post and neighbouring area though, hopefully it hasn't been disturbed by those that left the litter.
Cache 1311 Headed up this way today to start tackling this months challenge “finding favourites” so it’s a hunt for another 50-100 caches needed before June but I’m always up for a challenge so took a nice Sunday drive
When getting close to GZ I spotted a cache guardian ( not the one actually attached to the cache) but a lovely Charfinch who was refusing to get off the fence post right at GZ, then I got to meet cache guardian 2, guess the birds really do flock to this cache cache is in good condition T4TC

Made me smile on a damp day. A nice walk for me and Winnie. Thanks for cache. All signed and returned
Didn't see any pigeons but we did see a dog walking muggle and a few seagulls plus one flamingo.
This is the last of the caches along the walkway that I had left to find. I had intended to find it several months ago when rain made me decide to turn back without finding the last two. It must be about 52 years ago when the Catchment Board narrowed the entrance to the Matau branch of the river to encourage most of the flow to go down the Kohau which is shorter. They put some structures in the river between the Inch Clutha bank and some Islands in the river near Renton Rd. The river is totally different there from when I was a kid. Even the Matau showed signs of silting up soon after the entrance was narrowed. No trouble finding this cache. Thanks Natalie.
Down for work so time to cache a bit. Did as many as time allowed.
Did the loop walk around the airfield collecting caches along the way. Thanks for the mix of puzzles and trads to keep things interesting.
Fascinates me how the river turns back on itself.

Looks like a flock of seagulls to me. Check out the app Bird nerd. It’s free! Fav point from me.
Solved a few at home to prepare for a loop walk. Beautiful morning down this way. Thanks.
Nice easy find on the walk around the airport. A cool breeze coming off the river. Cache all good. Thanks for the placement.
A nice quick find. Thanks for placing your cache.
Time for another road trip for Ms_KR and KR, so we headed south toward Otago. We cruised through from Lawrence to Lake Waihola today, With some biking and some walking too. A day of changeable weather, though not enough rain to slow us down!
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Tftc, enjoying the riverside walk. Neat railway bridge over there. Have a good day
A quick easy find of this cache which would certainly stand out in a flock of pigeons. A favourite from us. TFTC
Re-logging for my purposes.
I took a much-needed caching trip down south with WilbyWarrior today to snag a bunch of caches in Balclutha, and a few elsewhere too. This was a very quick find given what the cache was, but for some reason I had "flock of seagulls" in my head instead of pigeons. Hm, a bit of music to my ears perhaps? Cheers!

Another quick find on our walk around Balclutha. Found with CJ.

No flamingos but did see the pigeons on the bank having a union meeting by the look of it.
Well ain't that just the cutest thing!
No problems making the find.
Thanks for putting this here

Easter weekend and heading to Gore for a couple of days to get my numbers closer to 5000. First stop Balclutha and a walk around the river. Nice quick find here and what a cool
FTF. Parked at the motocross track and it was about a pleasant and easy 1km round-trip to walk to the cache. I was here doing a cache near the motocross track almost a year ago to the day. Quick find. No birds at all to be seen when I was there. Three FTFs for the morning (I knew the fourth cache back at Henley had already been found so left that for last). A pleasant Sunday morning ride and a big helping of schadenfreude at GC9Q7VW. Thanks for the caches.
Enjoyed a pleasant walk along the river this evening for a new cache. Thanks Natalie247 for placing. Fun cache to find.
