The river is still running fairly high, but came back today better prepared with my gumboots so I could reach the cache without getting my feet wet. Thanks for the hide, cheers
Today I went for a wee bike ride around the oxbow in the river just to the east of the town.Got it.Cheers for the cache, Natalie247.
After a fun weekend at the Dunedin Mega we're driving to Invercargill today for a few days geocaching down there. I need some Southland finds for a challenge and I'd solved a lot of puzzles down here that are long over due for collection. I'm also working towards a 200 and a 300 South Island minute challenge. We had a full days geocaching planned for the way down but yet again I found another bunch of easily solved puzzle caches. My buddy kindly adjusted our plans and we had a lovely scenic drive down the coastal route. I'd solved this puzzle in October 2022. I watched a lot of these programs and read many books to the kids over the years. We parked up at the bottom of Glasgow Street and I set off in my gumboots to grab the two puzzles on this stretch of the path. With all the recent rain the path was a puddle which didn't bother me in my boots. I soon spotted the hint and signed us in. Thanks for another puzzle
With Gap (of Fap and Gap) Were here for Geo Toroa (Dunedin Mega). Between flight cancellations and re-routing, things could only get better, right? But wait, theres more! Somewhere on our caching escapades, I dropped my wallet (Tuesday) Its still at large, so if anyone finds itOne of us usually drives, the other is the retriever. That works for us. Weve either logged caches with our separate handles, or weve used FANGS to sign the logbook. Using the latter handle is more for mental health and well being. Its tiring having to write 15 + characters on each logbook Taking the rural, scenic route today - From Allanton to Balclutha. When we saw the mass of trads dotted along a network of forestry roads, it was agreed that we would give that trail a whirl. It was definitely excellent for numbers All of the caches were in great shape. We were impressed with spot on coords and caches that were freshly checked. It was encouraging to meet one of those COs performing maintenance on the trailFairly damp down here after recent rain. We were worried that we couldnt find hinted markers, but the coords were good enough Thanks Natalie247. TFTP and TFTC.
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I live full-time in our caravan travelling around NZ, visiting the places we want to visit & doing the things we want to do and fitting in a bit of Geocaching here & there we were passing through Balclutha & decided to stop & stretch our legs by going for a walk Mrs McMike2012 had solved this puzzle a few days ago, so it ended up being a straight forward walk to GZ cache was half full of water but we dried it out as best we could this ended up being an easy find, log book completed & then safely returned to its position were pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN:LN:LS this was #6,209 for us!
I found the cache lying in the open so I put the hint object over it once Id signed it.The attachment between the inner container and Harold has snapped. And I had difficulty screwing the lower part of the inner container onto the upper part. Apart from those three issues, the cache is fine! Thanks for the puzzle Natalie247
Ended up here parked for a different cache that we got the coords wrong. Good to pick up this previously solved puzzle, TftcA day out after mrs said lets go for a drive.
Now we were getting wet. A quick scout around in the grass revealed the hint item, and the cache beneath. A little tricky extricate thee toy with the cache tube. But managed to sign the cache and return it all to the outer container.Tftc.
Took us a bit of wandering about, and almost falling into holes, and Mr D almost collapsing the rubble getting back over it, before P&Vee instructed us not to leave the track and reach... there. And off they went towards lunch, leaving us wondering how on earth it managed to fly into there and how we could get it out to sign it.
Worked this out after i got home. Nice puzzle for kids. Out with the CO to check on the area. TFTC Natalie247
Beautiful day to be by the river. Came to Balclutha today specifically to do the riverside trail loop caches - my first time walking this trail, enjoyable walk, found lots of potential fishing spots for another day. Solved this one ages ago, good to cross it off the to-do list. Walked right past GZ at first as had read hint prior and was keeping an eye out for this structure, checked coordinates instead and found cache easily enough. Good sized container so I left a couple of little swag items .Tftc.
Another quick find here although it took a bit of manipulation to get the log out to sign. Unfortunately last cache today as I have two more hui to attend. TFTC # 20,481
Cache 1307 Headed up this way today to start tackling this months challenge “finding favourites” so it’s a hunt for another 50-100 caches needed before June but I’m always up for a challenge so took a nice Sunday drive
Solved this cache a while ago today it’s time to collect, cute cache guardian T4TC

I bounced in here in a Suzuki swift...I don't think my wife was too impressed. Easy find. Love it
Had solved sometime ago. As in log from previous cache, we had befriended a dog without an owner and when we found the owner, he was waiting for his dog at the co-ords for this cache and he didn't seem in any hurry to move on so we introduced him to the game of geocaching. I'm not sure he understood what we were doing and he certainly didn't understand why.
Solved a while ago.. A decision to head north to knock off a few caches. Dropped in here on the way home to finish the last few on the track. Cache all good tftc
Today from Cathedrals Cave to the Toko Mouth I was busy.
Again lot of Sunshine.
Super Idee, one point.
Thanks.

Down for work so time to cache a bit. Did as many as time allowed.
Did the loop walk around the airfield collecting caches along the way. Thanks for the mix of puzzles and trads to keep things interesting.
Fascinates me how the river turns back on itself.

#22039. Troodles mounted the rescue mission, and I went ahead to look for the next cache (this one was the first of three on a short walk on a warm morning). TFTC.
StreetWalkerNZ was a big Thomas the tank engine as a child so it was no surprise that our two sons followed suit (and it;s just a co-incidence that their names are Thomas and Edward ). So no trouble solving the puzzle and the cache was a quick find too. TFTC.
Solved a few at home to prepare for a loop walk. Beautiful morning down this way. Thanks.
In approaching GZ I thought I must have got the puzzle wrong but once closer saw the hint object. Thank goodness for RITR paper as the log was very wet. Thanks for the placement and the series of puzzles.
Came to offer aid if needed but apart from a bit of dampness all well and good. Another mystery dot day ticked off though.
A nice quick find. How did you arrange the heliocopter to buzz me while I was finding the cache? Fav Point! Thanks for placing your cache.
Time for another road trip for Ms_KR and KR, so we headed south toward Otago. We cruised through from Lawrence to Lake Waihola today, With some biking and some walking too. A day of changeable weather, though not enough rain to slow us down!
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

When it looked like we might see the sun after a week of rain, I suggested a trip to Balclutha to drop off a parcel (and do some caching of course) The wind was too cold to walk the track today so only got this end one and the other end one. Will be back to walk it next time.
Tried a couple of ways at extracting some coordinates before getting a set worth of putting through the checker where they got the green tick. Once at GZ the hint quickly made sense. It was interesting getting a view of the old chicory across the water from this angle.
The puzzle was straightforward, although the hint caused us some initial concern given where we were, but all was well and the nice wee cache was a quick easy find. A favourite from us. TFTC
Re-logging for my purposes.
I took a much-needed caching trip down south with WilbyWarrior today to snag a bunch of caches in Balclutha, and a few elsewhere too. Had some flashbacks of a very familiar voice while I was solving this puzzle... used to love the subject matter of this puzzle. No difficulties at the cache site, except for a little bit of difficulty with extraction... Cheers!

Another quick solve and easily found. Enjoyed the walk around the area. Found with CJ-Curry

Found during a day exploring the Clutha area with my family, really loved the cache container! TFTC
Pleased as I needed the cache to complete a challenge. All good with the cache. Thanks
Napoleon_Solo was able to provide some of the numbers off the top of his head. Personally, I find this story series to have fascist overtones. Just who are the uniformed, blond-haired young men that stand behind the "supreme leader" like some sort of Praetorian Guard? They look awfully like Aryan stormtroopers to me. And let's not forget a certain major historical figure who made the trains run on time, just like the large gentleman who rules with an iron fist in this series. Or maybe I'm just overthinking it - but don't get me started on the sub-text in Paw Patrol! TFTC.
Easter weekend and heading to Gore for a couple of days to get my numbers closer to 5000. First stop Balclutha and a walk around the river. Had solved the puzzles earlier in the week with no problems at all and a nice quick find here TFTC Natalie247
Parked up the camper and decided to walk the track today as strong winds blowing. First cache all good. TFTC
Hovered around for sometime before making a safe landing and rescue. Pleased with a {FTF} today.
Thanks Natalie247 for another neat puzzle and very cool cache
