### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUESTED PLEASE** ###

----------

Hi there ScoopsJam2,

It looks like this cache might need some attention, as one or more seekers have indicated there is some sort of issue. The recent logs may contain more details about what sort of issues are evident.

The cache has been [**temporarily disabled**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=235), so as to remove it from search listings and discourage people from visiting this location, until the issues/s can be addressed.

**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days,** so others know you are on top of it, as well as indicating exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication scuttle this listing.

#What you need to do:-#
You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-

- **Check On The Cache**

- **Place A Write Note Log**

- **Adopt Out or Archive**

Full details for each of the above choices can be found at [**GEOCACHE MAINTENANCE**]( https://wiki.groundspeak.com/display/GEO/Victoria) on the Regional Policies page.

You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of the above. Well, when the cache is next checked by a Reviewer, if the issue has not been addressed, or there is no acknowledgment as requested above, it will be assumed the cache has been abandoned. Twisted

It would be far better if you decide, so please do something before then. Please don't send an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.

Thanks for your cooperation,

Bunjil (Pete & Helen)

Doing a few days around Canberra and Yass. TFTC.
A cold and wet day but caches must be found.

01-Apr-23
Log book totally saturated - needs to be replaced.

01-Apr-23
Found at 11:40 AM GAFF3 at a distance of around 15 metres.
We have been down here in 2017 when there was a very troubled cache at the boat ramp, so we were hoping that this one was going to be a lot easier - but it was not to be so (: As mentioned the co-ords were way out and the hint was totally wrong and the container let in water.
On the bright side - a nice location where men owning whippets seem to meet!
Thanks ScoopsJam2.

#17299 - 11:24:00 AM; Out on a mission with albida33, smittengranny and Barb2e today in and around Yass with a focus on the "stick" series. All up 11 finds and 3 DNFs for the morning. Nice to get a few of these of a growing "to do" list in the area! The coords were a bit out here and we started the hunt some way from GZ. albida33 expanded the search in an area more closely aligned with the cache name and located the cache soon after! Monday has rolled around again and I joined a group to head out past Yass for some interesting and challenging caches. We did fail on a few, but I am sure we will get another chance to search there again in the future. The morning warmed up and finished with a nice morning tea before heading home.

Our next destination were the caches down this road and despite the GPS sending us all to the wrong area first, we soon moved to a more likely spot. The hint seemed a bit off, but the cache was found and the water tipped out.

Thanks for the cache ScoopsJam2

Today's Monday trip had a new member as LL joined Barb2e, Albida33 and SG. Our sights were again set on a few of the Stick series as well as some miscellaneous ones around Yass. Not all were, found but those that were found now carry our signatures. TFTC ScoopsJam2

Fitzy_1965 and I took a detour on the way home today.

We both needed a numbers for our self-imposed calendar challenges and had a bit of time up our sleeves.

Nice easy find here today.

29,794. Found with minniek during our typical detour on the way home to Goulburn to fill in our Calendars.

To continue on with one of our self-imposed challenges filling in our calendar days, we headed to Yass on the way home from Canberra for a few caches today. We found a mixture of Frogs of the World, Sausages of the World, Rocky Movies, Mixed Grills and some neatly camo'd caches. This one took quite a bit of wandering around until we read some previous logs, which sent us straight to the correct GZ. Stamped the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.

Thanks ScoopJam2 !!

I only found one container but admittedly, I stopped looking after I found it. Thanks ScoopsJam2 and happy caching

29-Aug-22
Is that a container that has the same stuff as the mark one?

27-Aug-22
Found it! Please read the previous logs as it’s not at the listed coordinates

27-Aug-22
We actually found 2 containers about a metre from each other!

21-Aug-22
Found this one in its hiding place and another one very close by. We think it might be the cache from further down the hill as the recent flood may have necessitated the owners to relocate the other one up out of the floodwaters. Thanks for the swap

Early morning start for a long day of caching in and around Yass. A nice mix of challenging caches and all good quality as expected. Just in time to get the numbers up a little so I can celebrate my milestone overseas next week. Always enjoy the company of J+J.AU.

We had planned a caching trip with Wilbert67, We started caching in the dark and ended the day in the dark. We travelled Yass and surrounding areas, so many caches have popped up since our last visit here,
The morning looked promising however it changed as the day went. sunny, windy, drizzling, The chilled went straight true us. The roads were quite muddy and some of the way the the road had big rutts, caution was taken not to get stuck along the way.
We did traditional, multis, wherigo letter boxes, mystery and challenge caches.
We always have a great day with Wilbert,
Thanks for you company,
Thanks to all the COs for their hides

Nice quick find!

Found with Tankengine, dty73, and youban. The likely tree by the gate made for a quick find. Up in the area for a little caching and a few FTF opportunities with Tankengine, dty73 and Youban. We met up with AngelG27 and TikvaNZ early in the morning also out for the same idea so all continued on together. Lovely sunny day to be out along the trails, although a little chilly to start with earlier! Thanks for the cache!

Found with Tankengine, Aquilus1 and Youban.

What to do on a Saturday? Go for a road trip to pick up a few caches!

Lucky for us we decided to enjoy some lunch in Yass and then decided to pick up a couple of caches before heading home. Tftc!!!

After many complaints about me putting the coordinates to far away from the geocache, I have changed the digital coordinates (Haven’t moved cache). The cache coordinates are now alot closer than what it was.

Thankyou for addressing this

Both the GPSr and the hint led us astray, but persistence won out in the end.

With a poor forecast for weather we decided to stay another day in Yass Rather than travel. We collected a few more caches in town but didn't venture far.
Had a great coffee and cake in a little cafe in town.

Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache ScoopsJam2.

Back in town early this afternoon to pick up some fencing supplies, I ended up with a little time to spare and decided to call by and take a look for this cache.
I noted the comments made in previous logs and soon came up with the goods.

An after work excursion to top up my find numbers and types for this date. This cache took a while to find. Success was achieved after reading the recent logs. TFTC.

Zooming around Yass today and had 30 minutes to take a break! Decided I would come check out this new cache, I always enjoy driving down to this boat ramp and was excited to see yet another cache pop up down here!

The previous log was extremely helpful in finding this cache, but I do agree that the CO could update the listing to improve the coordinates and hint, this would be a fantastic cache with a couple minor adjustments!

The hint could be "Ground level (Tree)" instead, and the coordinates I took at GZ are:
**S34 49.916 E148 55.707**. These coordinates are still far enough away from the cache down at the boat ramp, so if you post a "Update Coordinates" log you should have no issues!

Thanks for bringing me back here, the cache itself was well hidden and in excellent condition! I hope to see more caches from you in the future!

Found it with some help. Thanks Sui.
The hint is incorrect.
GZ is about 15m from coords.
Stand on the coords “0” facing the dam & head rightish & go down, down, dowwmnnn.
A beautiful little container with some great swaps.
When you put it back, please add some protection.
Thanks ScoopJam2 for this awesome geocache.

“I remember it like it was yesterday.
The night was about an hour and a half dark. It was a week out from Easter with No moon, and even if there had been one, there was a heavy cloud layer. The wind had been blowing for the last 24hrs, gusty, and cold. There was a fine misty rain - the type that you could ignore until you suddenly realized how wet and cold you’d become.
I had been sitting at home eating Woolworth iced donuts and drinking cheap, off brand, mineral water when the update came through.
This was the third visit I’d had to this location, and I hoped that I wasn’t about to be fooled again. I’d jumped into my old Ute to head over, and she’s seen better days, the poor gal. Running on her last wisp of fuel, it’d been a bleak, long time since the last service. If things went bad now, there was a long miserable evening’s march ahead of me. I hope the cardboard I used to cover the holes in the soul of my of my shoes would hold up.
As I pulled up, I decided to leave the headlights on, pointing roughly where I thought the cache may be, but the saxophone music shut off as I switched the engine off and opened the door. My car was a mess, I’d been living in it the last few days, and as I stepped out old wrappers and food containers rattled onto the ground at my feet. I quietly sighed to myself as I leant down to pick it all up and tossed it into the passenger footwell.
I turned my head down into the the nights icy bluster, and turned up my collar. If only I still had my hat, but I’d lost it in a card game to some jerk from a few doors up, the guy that still held a grudge Because he suspected I’d ratted him out to the council about his wheels bin. It had been me, and I’d got a perverse sense of low key pleasure from it, but I felt that he didn’t actually know it was me, he just assumed. From that self delusional point of view I returned his grudge and again wished for my hat back.
Quickly I checked around. the rain was starting to make more noise than the breeze, and even though I was totally alone and well isolated from harm, the pervasive darkness gave me the creeps.
the few trees and fence posts yielded nothing, then I honed in a bit more.
I was quiet surprised when the cache revealed itself to me. Proud and on display. I was pleased but concerned at the complete lack of covering. Being too out in the open, things go missing and passerbys and youths have a way of finding things, even when you think it’s out of the way. I signed my name and replaced, covering it back with some of the nearby grass clippings. Just a token amount to make it stand out less. To non catcher types…”

I’ve gone back to check the cache after reports of DNF’s. I have checked the site, and couldn’t find it where I placed it. I think it’s been taken or removed. Lucky I had a spare cache lying around and have replaced it.

Thankyou for logging the DNF’s so I could fix the issue.
