2593 - After a nice walk around the Kumbartcho Sanctuary, I headed down and along the track beside the South Pine River to hopefully grab another cache or two. The area had changed a lot since I was last down here. I tried to grab this one on my first pass but couldn't find it. But on my return I tried a different and easier spot and found a likely hiding spot where I found a cute container with the cache attached. The paper was a little damp, so I had some trouble making my mark on it. It really needs a few minutes in the sun to dry it out a bit as it hasn't been found in almost 6 months. Replaced as I found it and continued back up to the car through the Sanctuary. Thanks for the cache JACS Team.

1MinnieMoo had brought me home for the week to spend some time joining her on adventures. I was very excited as she promised to introduce me to Geocaching. She also wanted me to enjoy some pretty spots in nature, so brought me to Kumbartcho Sanctuary. While here we saw a few of my kookaburra family, and visited some fun little spots before we went across a suspension bridge and found this cache. He is cute! Thanks for the cache JACS Team. Wait until I tell the kindy kids about this! Kookaakakakakakaka

26/11/2023 Find #6724I was taking Charlie the Kookaburra out for some fun and adventures today, and 1MinnieMooJnr chose to join us for the first time in an eternity. We decided we should let Charlie see Kumbartcho Sanctuary, and as an added bonus could throw in a cache for us all too. First we wandered through Frog Hollow, followed by the Fairytale trail, and then made our way across the suspension bridge and over here where we found a very cute little Leonard. Thanks for the cache JACS Team.

Ive always enjoyed exploring the tracks around Kumbartcho so it was nice to return today. Clue was most helpful here as my GPS couldnt decide where to point. Checking the terrain rating, I chose one area and quickly found Leonard in his home. He is in great condition and seemed happy to see me. Thanks JACS Team

JACS Team I didn’t find your cache Leonard on 11/4/2023, 3:00 pm. Too overgrown and had muggles nearby for a proper search.

I’ve never been to Kumbartcho before, and found the whole experience fascinating…

With time getting away from me I decided I might have time for one… maybe two more…

Geepers wanted me closer to the track than where I found the cache… but the hint made it clear where I needed to be…

Made my mark, patted Leonard on the returned everything as found… thanks JACS Team

I had a brief look for Florence… but time got away from me…

Leonard wasn’t home last time I visited. Probably away at a fairy convention. Today he was home and offered me a drink of butterfly milk. TFTC

Distance from original: 8.3 feet or 2.5 meters.

Found a slightly better cave, which might keep Leonard safer.

After a long search far and wide with some friends, we left with no find. Maybe next time.

13-Jan-23
Finally Leonard has returned to his rocky outcrop. He has put a door on his cave!

31-Jul-22
Found Florence first so we knew what we might be looking for. 2 of us searched for 20 mins and 20mtrs either side of cords.

After searching far and wide were unable to locate!!

He eluded us.

Could not find this or the last fairy. Maybe someone took them ?

03-Jun-22
Bit of bush bashing to get to this one, but that’s another fairy found

03-May-22
Came with my youngest daughter for a play at the park and a walk and play in the fairy garden. Noting there were some newish caches nearby that we hadn't found yet, we kept walking along the path to have a look around. We were too busy looking at the flood damage and walked straight past it but returned to GZ and soon spotted Leonard. Cool little fella he is. TFTC

Well that was the cutest little thing I've found all day. TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF

I had a Sunday afternoon free and live a few hundred metres from this new one, so took a stroll along the path. I haven’t been this way since the big flood, wow what a change. TFTC

10-Apr-22
Found Leonard. I haven’t been down this since the floods, and oh what a mess they made of this beautiful spot. Hopefully Leonard will oversee some good rehabilitation. TFTC

I parked at Kombucha and wandered down here for a quick find. Thanks for the cache

Nice walk from Kumbartcho, and cache was found once the GPS settled into position. Wow, this area has changed after the floods!

02-Apr-22
A bit of a solo drive this morning, taking the route through Bunya and Eaton's Hill to grab a few newish caches.

I had considered taking the walk from Bunya Riverside and crossing the river at the ford but the FTF log from 4 days ago made me reconsider. Not too big a problem really as it's an easy wander from Kumbartcho anyway. I was shocked to see all the pine trees along the river have been pushed over. The track is in good condition and a few folks were swimming in the river.

Both Leonard and Florence came to hand easily and are cute containers [^] After finding the caches I continued on to the ford and discovered it to be high and dry. TFTC, JACS Team.

*FTF*

Out this morning for a walk to grab these two new caches that are just 500 metres from my house. Knowing the area I thought I would take a short walk, cross the river at the crossing and walk up to the caches. I grabbed the dog and off we went for a nice morning walk. However, as we got to the river crossing there was a lot of water and no way across, so back home we went. I then jumped in the car and drove around, which is a 15 minute drive, to the start of the trail from the Kumbartcho end. It was a nice walk around but the recent floods have taken a big chunk out of around here and “cleaned up” a lot of the trees beside the river.

I found both caches nicely positioned and both gave me a smile. It was a nice morning out and a happy moment getting two FTF’s. Thanks for the nice caches and the hides. With both logs signed and caches returned as found I started my way back home. A favourite point for you on each.

Many fond memories walking this track finding various caches that have been here over the last 8 years I've played. There was a particularly tricky one just up the hill from here that helped be in my first DT loop. Cute hide here:)

Find #12267 @ 08:09
Thanks JACS Team for giving us a reason to visit.
