I dont recall exactly but it must be about 4 months ago at an event when OZGrumpy, Jlly and I had a chat about riding the Reisling and Rattler Trails for caches.Today is the day and as the weather gods would have it, its going to be a 35deg day Cache quickly found and log stamped TFTC
As this was along the way, we stopped to make a quick find.Today I left home reasonably early, with my bike on the ute, to meet up with Chezle and OZGrumpy in Riverton. We left my ute in Riverton, threw my bike on Chezles chariot and headed to Clare.A big day on our bikes riding both The Riesling Trail and The Rattler Trail to find caches while enjoying some country fresh air, a bit of sunshine, get some exercise and find a couple of DNFs of mine from a previous visit. All up a fun day, even if Im going to be a bit saddle sore tomorrow TFTC TheKellyGangKeep smiling
GPS was jumping all over the place creating all sorts of dilemmas for me. Nearly had me stumped but then I figured out what was going on headed in the right direction. All is good.
What a great way to hide a cache. Test group 1 loves it what great time had by all in clate oshc. Go the swans.
Found at 11:27 AM in the company of The Morris.A nice clear and sunny day on the bikes - maybe just a bit cool when hurtling along under the shade of the trees. Worked out the co-ords and spotted the cache after abandoning the first idea of where we thought it would be Thanks to TheKellyGang
We are travelling with Pprass and have set up in Blyth where we will camp for a few days.Today we jumped on the bikes to do bits of the bike trails. Sadly we lost Mr Morris along the way when his bike suffered a catastrophic failure. Thanks for the trail TheKellyGang

Once upon a time, in the quaint town of Shadowvale, there existed a peculiar tradition known only to the most adventurous souls. It was whispered among locals that the shadows themselves held secrets, and those brave enough to seek them out were in for a thrill beyond their wildest imaginations.Enter our intrepid geocacher, Max, a lover of mysteries and an aficionado of the obscure. Armed with his trusty GPS device and a heart full of curiosity, Max set out one dusky evening to uncover the enigma of the Silhouette Cache.Legend had it that hidden within the silhouette of an ancient tree lay the coordinates to a cache that promised untold treasures. As Max wandered through the dimly lit forest, he couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. But undeterred, he pressed on, following the faint outline of the looming tree against the twilight sky. Finally, he reached the designated spot, and there it was - a silhouette etched into the bark, illuminated by the glow of the moon. With bated breath, Max deciphered the cryptic message hidden within the lines and curves of the shadow. Coordinates!Excitement coursing through his veins, Max embarked on a journey deeper into the heart of the forest, guided only by the flickering light of fireflies and the rustle of leaves. At long last, he stumbled upon a hidden alcove, obscured by the dense foliage.Within the alcove lay the cache, nestled amidst a bed of moss and ancient relics. But the true treasure wasn't the trinkets inside; it was the thrill of the chase, the adrenaline rush of unraveling a mystery woven into the very fabric of the night. As Max made his way back home, he couldn't help but smile, knowing that he had added another chapter to the legend of Shadowvale. And though the shadows may hold countless secrets, he vowed to return, ready to uncover each and every one. For in the world of geocaching, adventure knows no bounds, and the silhouette of possibility stretches far beyond the horizon.a fun day of e-bike riding in the Clare region with Martini.989, total of 23 smilies for the day for me. and back to droop our bikes off just before the rain hit.Come visit SA's longest running annual event -GCAK1D5- keep the weekend free - 7th - 10th June 2024 Can't wait!!2405
In the area today to catch up with some friends and collect some caches. This one wasn't here last time we visited but was a nice simple multi with a quick find. tftc#8604
A fun (though super hot) visit to the area. Thanks for the cache! .Day 13 of our Great Leap Forward leap year Mega trip of 2024. Caching today with GLISS! Always wonderful to be travelling across the country enjoying the amazing scenery and caching along the way. Main focus for this trip has been to tidy up the last couple of counties needed in Victoria and make a serious dent in the South Australian ones. Plus a few days in Adelaide enjoying the mega fun. A hot dry trip this time around. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining these caches so we can enjoy the game.
Day 13 of my Leap Year Mega trip. Today, the plan is to find lots of counties. Found with Nibletricecakes. TFTC.
Over to attend the Great Leap Forward Mega Event with tmann421.Have done a few km collecting caches and have enjoyed the tour aroundThanks to all the cache owners for their efforts in placing and maintaining these for us to findSigned log tm/ww NZ??????
*Another nice find with woolwood9 today.* Thanks for putting this multi-cache out for us to visit. SL *tm/ww NZ*Soon located.
TFTC...We were in Clare to have lunch with some old friends and couldn't resist the opportunity to hunt down a few caches.
We had travelled up from Adelaide to catch up with school friends of 'and_me'. Whilst we waited for them to arrive we spent the time caching. TNLN. TFTC.
I was staying in Clare and it was such a hot night I decided to go for a long walk along the old rail trail.....this was one of the finds, though I couldnt find it on the night....so I stopped by the next morning and there it was!---------------------Quick trip to SA for the leap year mega, just spent one night in SA but managed to get everything I was after. I focused on my missing counties, oldies, challenges and virtuals, though I did also stop for some Wherigo's and Letterboxes on the way, despite these types being massively cheapened by the massing spamming of them.
It was the nearby Virtual cache that attracted us to this location, and as [gridge98](https://coord.info/PRGKDMY) had previously found this cache, he assisted with pointing out where he found the cache (as I was initially searching another spot). No issues with working through the required digits substitution, with the checksum agreeing with my first attempt of the GZ equation. Furthermore, the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks [TheKellyGang](https://coord.info/PR57CNQ) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------A trip visiting Adelaide from Brisbane for the [The Great Leap Forward](http://coord.info/GCA1DNA) Mega event!I arrived Wednesday 28/02/2024 evening ready for Leap Day on Thursday, and stayed with family across the weekend, before returning on Monday 4/03/2024 morning. Previous Adelaide trips are spent with family and friends, but targeted geocaching was this trip's objective, and I attempted to target unique cache types (virtuals, EarthCaches, Wherigos and letterbox hybrids), attractive D-T combinations, high Favourite Point caches, and the occasional pre-2003 oldie, acknowledging that I had found many cherished oldies whilst residing in Adelaide. In addition to Mega central in Beverley/Hindmarsh, my trip included visits as north as Clare, to Aldinga and Sellicks Beach to the south, and the Adelaide Hills (Hahndorf, Uraidla) to the west. In true South Australian style, I ticked off the three closest wine areas to Adelaide (Barossa, Clare Valley, and McLaren Vale). Additional highlights included Barossa vineyard meanderings, boating to Adventure Island in Outer Harbor, drain exploration via [The Shadowlands](https://coord.info/GC18AZY), beach walks of Port Willunga and Sellicks Beach, enjoying a beer at Willunga, and experiencing the Fringe Festival in Adelaide's east end.Today on 29/02/2024 Leap Day, it was an extremely early start joining [gridge98](https://coord.info/PRGKDMY) to drive north to attend Clare's morning event. As the sun rose, we meandered back to Adelaide via Auburn, Saddleworth, Peters Hill, Tarlee, and Gawler, and I then proceeded solo visiting targeted geocaches in Adelaide's north around Mawson Lakes. A couple of targeted geocaches in North Adelaide's park lands with [gridge98](https://coord.info/PRGKDMY), and I then headed east to Stepney and Toorak Gardens, before visiting Mega HQ. The day's remainder was spent catching up with old geocaching friends, geocaching, gadget caching, and closing-out the day with [The Side Event](http://coord.info/GCAH07T) dinner.Adventure Labs visited included: [Adelaide Icon Tour with Neobatrachus Pictus](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/e4e6daf2-4904-4f32-9a49-3308a1d7a075); [Hidden History of Charles Sturt Council](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/f1f49ce0-0345-4bb0-9cf6-f1ff813d80d9); [Sporting Adelaide](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/746734fb-eab7-4058-8072-922a43bdc332); [The Great Leap Forward Gadget Caches](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/a2d616d0-5583-4663-a70c-605c6a88c956); and [Visiting South Australia's Special Places](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/44b6d461-0b3b-43b5-adf1-1c29f61766b7).
Found it! Starting off a day of caching in Clare. A nice quick solve and find here along the Riesling Trail. TFTC!
Had a ball in this area on NYD - i was out and about celebrating new year in a way i wanted to and ended up here - so, along with a few other caches in the area, I inched my yellow tally up and had more adventures along the way - met up with another geocacher along the way and we just kept chugging down smiles! this was a wonderfully easy cache for me to do and soon I found a suitable receptacle - TYFTC SL TN LN
Nice little multi, I worked the numbers but skuzzybear was ultra quick with the find. TFTC The KellyGang, hard to believe there was a railway line here, the track well in use with bike riders today.
While wandering around Clare doing an Adventure Lab we looked for any other caches we passed by.Many thanks for this multi TheKellyGang
Found on a trip to Clare with pineapplegoldy! Thanks to the CO for including lots of info in the description. Was interesting to read while Goldy Jr found the cache.TFTC!
MotherGoldy and pineapplegoldy are driving to Saddleworth and the surrounding areas today for a day trip together. It isn't going to be a massive day for finding caches but I need one for my streak, as well as an EarthCache for EarthCache weekend.A shout out to all EarthCache owners who contribute to teaching geology in our game! I'm also targeting virtuals as I love them. I got 3 for the day which is very exciting.A good day was had. We read a lot of local history and spent lots of time looking in stores. We laughed about a lot of things and enjoyed the adventure labs (MotherGoldy's favourite). We ended up with a total of 11 caches and 10 adventure lab locations. I am now at 337 days straight. Only 29 days left!Mum and I were doing the adventure lab nearby when I noticed the multi here.I did some number crunching and then set off. The cache was quickly located and signed. The cache and contents are in good condition. I did find it exposed, so I put a rock on top to keep it in place.A nice spot for a cache. Well done.Lots of interesting signs to read. I liked the one about the British Oak Tree nearby. Thanks TheKellyGang for this multi cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 3644 on the 7th of October 2023.CITO's are a brilliant way to help keep our community area's clean. The Earth is our playing field and we need to protect it! Always be sure to cache the "leave no trace" way!**South Australia is the place be for GCA1DNA - February 29th, 2024 in Adelaide! Hope to see you at The Great Leap Forward!**
Third multi of five today, and this is just what I needed - quick and easy with a bonus Virtual in the mix too. The cache is well. Thanks for this multi Kelly Gang.
I plopped down in my easy chair and turned on Channel Two
A bad gunslinger called Salty Sam was chasin' poor Sweet Sue
Salty Sam was tryin' to stuff Sweet Sue in a burlap sack, he said
"If you don't give me the deed to your ranch, I'm gonna throw you on the railroad tracks!"
And then he grabbed her (and then?)
He tied her up (and then?)
He threw her on the railroad tracks (and then?)
A train started comin' (and then, and then?)
And then along came Jones
Tall, thin Jones
Slow-walkin' Jones
Slow-talkin' Jones

Travelling with iluvtrekking up the WA coast to Darwin, down the Centre and in the Flinders. After spending some time in Peterbough and Minlaton we moved to Moonta to grab finds in Moonta and surrounds. Out on wet and misty day run to Clare and caching en route. Found 6 mts from calculated gz. Thanks TheKellyGang
The Silhouette is certainly a very apt inclusion along side the rail trail. Data collection was straightforward and we soon had coordinates which were consistent with the checksums. It took a while to locate this cache. The first complication was the excessive weed growth in the area which made searching difficult. Secondly we didn't find the cache where our GPS was pointing and had to widen the search area. We eventually located the cache about 6m from where the coordinates were taking us. The cache and contents were in reasonable condition - the log was a little damp. Thanks TheKellyGang for this multi cache.
On our first pass our daughter rang us with some important yet unimportant news. My wife and I were crunching the numbers as an inseparable team until she rang and when her phone is buzzing or jumping I know I’m on my own.
So I crunched a GZ that on the walk didn’t seem right. I read the description and realised my mistake. On the return walk we were able to walk out in the wet grass to make the find. tftc

Spending a few days exploring and caching around the Clare Valley. Visiting some towns that I haven’t been before so lots of unfound geocaches up for grabs.
Day two was Spring Conservation Park, Clare and Auburn.
After grabbing some lunch in Clare, it was time to grab a few geocaches.
Thanks for the cache TheKellyGang.

Back in Ardrossan for harvest work. Still very little work with all the wet weather that has been around so we decided to head to Clare for a caching run. Sunday all went to plan until about 3pm when the sky got black then the wind picked up and the hail and rain tried to blow us off a hill. Not to mention during the day a pigeon crapped where we'd rather forget [xx(] and Mr Felix got a very large splinter in his arm which took a bit of retrieval.
Monday we woke to the fact that it had continued to rain all night and was now freezing having gone from 22degrees yesterday to 10 this morning. [8] So we decided to tackle a few previously solved puzzles before heading directly back to Ardrossan.
We managed to find your cache on our sojourn. Picture to be added of Mr Felix and 'Ardy' bear.

Another cache found on our 2022 South Australian Adventure and another very chilly, blustery day. We are rugged up well and off hunting down a few caches along the way. This was a nice quick find, perfect for such a day.
We are enjoying our time travelling SA, fantastic towns, ruins, beaches and cliffs. Our thanks to all the COs for taking us on this geo-guided tour.

Day eleven of our short South Australian trip with BettyBoo3747 and the geo-doggies.
A mild to chilly day in Clare. We unloaded the deadly treadlies and hit the bike trails riding north to Barinia. Back to Clare for some lunch then back to base.
It is a nice setup here with the silhouette, a bit of rail, and the old turntable pit.
Made a nice multi too.
Thanks, Robmc.

#19110. Day 11. of our Vic/SA trip with Robmc the geodogs and our bicycles. A supposedly rain-free day forecast and even some sunshine so we got the bicycles sorted, loaded the doggies into their tag-along and headed north up the trail to Barinia. Gale force winds accompanied us in the open farmland areas. We managed a 25km ride and 38 finds. 3 DNF's too, but that is the way it goes sometimes. Did so enjoy getting on the bikes and riding some of this fantastic Riesling Trail.
We worked out some new numbers and wandered over to GZ for a quick find. Added our names and continued on our way.
Thanks TheKellyGang

I headed up to Clare today to go for a walk and do the caches in the Spring Gully Conservation Park with Team Waldron and FeatherWaite. We stopped by to complete this multi on the way.
We collected the required information and calculated GZ without any difficulty. Then it was a quick find a short distance away.

Found with e.gregory1 and Team Waldron on a trip up to Clare with the main aim of hiking around Spring Gully Conservation Park. With an early start we had plenty of time to pick up a variety of Multicaches, Puzzle caches, Traditionals and a Virtual cache as well as attending the CITO in Clare before heading for home. Thanks for the cache TheKellyGang!
Today was my second day of caching around Clare. After the JAMMs team headed out to play the game I got myself organized for the journey home.
I collected some more caches on the way but also had 5 annoying dnfs and was cross with myself for forgetting the new caches published yesterday. Never mind will never clear the map .
Another 10km walked and more smiley faces ticked off the map.
My thanks to all the hiders for your contributions.

Staying in Clare for the JLW caching event, picking up as many caches around the surrounding areas as we can. This cache is one that was found today.
With some daylight left, decided to go for a spin on the bike along the Riesling Trail to find some unfound caches. By the end it was dark which thankfully kept the muggles away bar one. Started at Ne 29 and rode back to the showgrounds. Overall 38 found in 1.25hrs.
Had a bit of a read, collected some coords and off to GZ to make a quick find. Cheers.

The JAMS team (JJ52, allister w, mogni, sir_spectre) along with tallbikestan left home early to head up to Clare for the June Long Weekend and of course we didn't go straight there. We had a few detours along the way which made for an interesting day travelling around stopping at Truro, Eudunda, Worlds End, Burra and Mintaro with the occasional cache in between.
Day 2 and we left our accommodation early to find a few caches before heading to the showgrounds. [^]
We were in the area, quick calculations and a quick find.

After missing the last few June Long Weekends for various reasons an offer was made to make just a day trip to this years event. So I picked up OzGrumpy, then Blackadders and we made yet another trip northwards in search of adventure, laughs and a few caches of course. By the end of another long day and a bit of the night all three tasks were accomplished.

The JAMS team (( JJ52, Allister W, Mogni, and sir_spectre ) plus TallBikeStan for this trip ) are headed off to the 20 th JuneLongWeekend Event in Clare. As you would expect extension poles, blow up kayaks, waders and ladders are in the car. I am sure every one else takes 11 hours to reach Clare from Adelaide, i am also sure via Burra is the logical to Clare . There was many photos taken of the fun times we had, even involving a ladder in the creek and of course many dirt roads ventured down. All caches for the weekend where stamped as JAMS and some more caches where placed on our travels. The missing JAMS member Michells&hound joined us in our B&B in Clare but didn't join with us for the JLWE game. The weather slowly got better over the weekend. It's good to see some gadget and creative caches around Clare that are permeant and not temp game caches.

On a morning stroll to find a few caches, will have to come back for the virtual, need someone to help me for the picture. Coordinates were soon in hand, but with coverage I had to trust my instincts to sign the log. Took the TB to attend JLWE. Left a pathtag. TFTC.

I started a mission to collect as many cache types as possible. This one was my first multi for the day, found with Bubbles8. TFTC!
We decided to load up the camper and run away from home for a week or two. The rain and a domestic water repair made us change our plans a few times but it didn't detract from the fun. We met quite a few people and learnt a lot from them - we were privileged to be shown a dugout at Coober Pedy and station life at Edeowie. We also found time to find a few caches, but we still have many unfound in the areas visited. Looking forward to returning to the upper north of South Australia one day soon.
Thank you to all those who helped make our trip very enjoyable.

Off to Clare for an overnight trip mainly focusing on getting the bikes out for a spin and hitting the rail trails for some adventure and indulging in the local wine culture, whilst finding some caches along the way. A lovely weekend away dodging the weather. Total of 91 finds for the 2 days.

Cache #11535
Headed up to Clare today for a Sunday Saunter with a Rat and the Starman. Main aim were the two new AdLabs, with as many Used 2Bs as we could fit in plus a few that just needed to be found. Dropped into Spring Gully Conservation Park on the way home for a couple of quick saunters for two recently solved puzzles before heading back to the Rat's Den.
The others, who knew where to go, had got there while I was still finding out where to go.
Thanks to TheKellyGang for putting out this cache for us all to find.
*This log composed and published using GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife).*

An unexpected leave pass was granted for a Sunday of caching.
So a few phone calls and small team of cachers went on a Sunday Saunter.
Our team consisted of SA sewer Rats, TTrogg and Team Astro.
We met at the Rat's Den and headed to Clare.
I loved the steel silhouette.
Quickly located the cache.
A fave point.Tftc

Nothing like caching in the shadows. A quick find during our lunch break with SA Sewer Rats and ttrog. Feels like I had been here before. Or was that the ghost nearby?
Thanks to TheKellyGang and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]
Taking the long way home from Cooboeie. Loved this area and a quick work out if no's and cache in hand with The X-Trailers. TFTC
Love the laser cut sculpture here!
The rail trail is awesome too!
Quick solve and find.

Thanks

Fun one. Read the info. Did the numbers and made the find. Bingo bango! Day 6 in SA and it’s more than a chilly brisk! The Riesling Trail was high on the list along with several other random caches so hoping to tick all boxes before heading back to home base. I’m out on trusty treadles aka my mtb to explore the trails and surroundings. I’ve learnt theRE are plenty of quality SA caches - plenty to pique the curiosity and anticipation of another surprise or fun cache. Happy and relieved to record no DNF’s today and on average most were located ‘relatively’ quickly. TFTC AND THE FUN and the effort to contribute to this fave game
TFTC nice find quick drive by out and about with geo wife LynSteNet quick working out and cache in hand

This is a great multi in one of my most favourite spots on the Reisling Trail.
Geo hubby Animal62 & I walk this trail often & love taking a break here.
Once the information was worked out & coordinates were in hand we made our way to the cache where we signed & dated the log before returning it back to its hiding spot.

It was nice to see the train patiently waiting for me rather than me waiting for a train. Used the numbers and soon had the cache in hand. TFTC
Found late in the day with Mattycat, quick calculation and soon had the cache in our hands, nice bit of history here well worth the read

Train meets steamroller = railway flats! The Fat Controller would not say this was a really useful engine. More of a ghostly train of the past, time gone by, used 2B a useful engine, once, lost train heritage Luckily the final was not a train trip away, but an easy walk and hop!
Also doing some recon
Still nice to share a podium place with the frogs [^]
Today Purrfect Di and I met up with Mr and Mrs froghoppin, for some forward planning and a quick cache too! Choo Choo Choo !!!
Much thanks to TheKellyGang for placing and maintaining this cache on our mid north SA geo game map

Always training... finding and signing cache logs alone or with family and friends using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck Plenty of that luck stuff actually!!!
*Logs are composed and published using GSAK of course.*

Caching is a hazardous activity!
Keep a lookout for sand traps, snakes, surprise cliffs, boxing roos, wombats, angry gnomes, bulldust, and floods,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall out of trees...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- but especially lookout for any old bugs from alpha to omega !!! . [xx(]
Try to keep Travel Bugs as the only bugs you share and pass on
Now everything's opening more - even more important to sanitise and safely distance!!!
Really good of all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting
Thanks heaps for reading all this addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere, apparently! You... win a virtual smile for the effort and getting to the end of the log
