Did a short walk early this afternoon and picked up the first five of these caches. Great views at times. Spotted this one almost straightaway. That doesnt always happen for me with this sort! #8166. TFTC.
It took me a while to spot this one. The camo'd bison is in good shape, but the paper inside is wet, and the logs got blurred
Good little find. Looked right at it more than once. Found the trail was busy today though, who knew good weather would bring out the hikers.
Together with Birba68 we had a wonderful walk and found some of the Caches. Thank you
TOGETHER WITH SCHATOH68 I MADE A TOUT TO THE SEA, THIS TOUR WAS NICE, THE OVERVIEWS WERE STUNNING. THANKS!
Okay Google : What is this tree ? And hop, cache foundThis one is so cute, well hidden
Had to figure out what tree to look for, then it was an easy find. Logbook was very wet. TFTC.
Took a few minutes to find but we got there. A very pleasant walk with friends. TFTC
habe den bei meiner Rckkehr gemacht, war wahrscheinlich etwas zu dunkel und ich habe ihn einfach bersehen
Three people staring at the same spot, no contest for the cache really. This is where we started signing logs with our initials, MLS. Thanks for the hide.
️ Trouvée ! / Found it ! ️
Une petite randonnée sympa qui fut plus courte que prévue à cause d'un impératif horaire. Ce n'est pas grave, les points de vue sont magnifiques. Merci pour ces belles caches.
4038ème cache trouvée.
Merci Geckoh pour la cache
A nice little hike that was shorter than expected because of an hourly imperative. It doesn't matter, the views are magnificent. Thank you for these beautiful caches.
4038th cache found.

Enjoying our walk in the bush and especially all the birdsong. Cache is all good. TFTC
A fine Saturday needs a day outside caching and this trail was ideal. Did the first 14 (forgot about 5.5) and have tired legs to prove it... but the scenery was amazing! Plenty of photo opps today. A muggle was approaching as we got to GZ but that was the perfect opportunity to look without looking... and yes spotted this one without too much effort. TFTC
Needed the hint for this one but then quickly in hand. That big tree is a monster. TTTC
Once again M finds this after I had almost given up. Lovely little cache very good.
Thanks
Thanks
Summer Geocaching Road Trip - Day 5 - Gisborne to Whakatane. It's been a while since I've been off on a road trip and this one has been on the cards for quite a while. I plan to visit some parts of the country where I've done very little caching before and hope to complete the qualification for a challenge cache in Nelson. I don't usually like to cut and paste logs but will make an exception for a "power trail" like this one. I've been fortunate with good weather on this trip up to now. Today was a bit more challenging but I was very lucky that the worst of the weather seemed to be over by the time I hit the trail. I really enjoyed the walk - as far as I had time and energy for today - from #1 to #15 - and the nice variety in containers and hides. I searched the wrong hint object for a bit before I checked the right one. Thanks for your efforts in placing and maintaining these and TFTC, Biggles.
Another evil Geckho camo...sadly the aqua has ingressed I have
.checked the O ring seal and it is all good maybe the previous finder did not tighten it sufficiently..dried it out as best possible but the log was still damp ..thanks

That "big tree" leaning over making several "bridges" was incredible to study. Very cool. The cache was well camoed. We found it full of water, and the log was very slimey - yuk. It was quite difficult to sign. We could hear noises like thunder and wondered if we would get drenched, but it must have been something else. Thanks for the placement, Geckoh
Had to look up the tree name from the hint (only arrived in NZ 3 weeks ago but after that it was a quick find!
That was a very great hike except the weather. I did all the Caches from #2 to #17
But don't found #15. #3 and 5 is wet inside.
A drawback is that nothing is written about the tide, so I could not make all the Caches and must go all the way back. I nedet about 4 hours.
Thanks and one point by 1 and 17.

Knocking off another cache on the trail.
Mrs rattll was too 'soft' to go out in the rain, so mr rattll grabbed this quick cache while he was in town.
Thanks for putting this here

Well we had to look up the tree found log soggy but just managed to sign.Over from the UK visiting family in Te Kuiti, exploring the north island and caching! So we're taking trips where we stay for a few days/week at a time before moving on to somewhere else or a few places before going back to spend time with family and back out again on another adventure.(Sorry for the very very late Log, between limited Data, some issues with our travel, some personal issues and a build up meaning the ADHD couldn't cope tackling these but finally getting logged Please forgive)
I decided to tackle some of the Toi trail after work, started some of the original trail years ago, but never finished it before it was archived.. Hidden in plain site and soon found. TFTC
day a little overcast at moment.
track in good condition even after all the rain we have had.
spotted hint item then good camoed cache.

A beautiful day to get a good start on these caches. Love this walk and many thanks to the COs for setting up this great trail again TFTC
Last time we were in Whakatane we had cleared all the caches in the local area. Was happy to see a lots of new caches which is great as I’ve come here for a few weeks of work. Visited Matata this afternoon and still had a bit of daylight to start the Toi series. Have walked these tracks many time but not with so many smileys to collect. Managed 1-5. Great varied hides and all the cache logs were fine and dry. Thanks
Walked to ohope and back. Was going to do the return by bus but I wasn’t waiting 90 minutes for it so put the foot down and walked back.
I used the hint for most of these to avoid any unnecessary tramping of the plants.
Great views to sea, along the cliffs and some of the pohutakawa are amazing.

The kids and I came over to Whakatane two weekends in a row to complete this trail. Starting at the beginning we walked to Kohi Point and back to start last weekend then this weekend we started at Ohope end and did the other half of trail. Really enjoyed this trail always good camouflage and hints from Team Geckoh makes for enjoyable geocaching I’m going to give each cache a FP either for location or camouflage I will be copying and pasting my logs as I don’t remember each individual cache but they were all good. Thanks Team Geckoh and I look forward to when you complete the Toi Trail
I was asked if I wanted to do the walkway from Whakatane to Ohope and after looking at it on the map it didnt seem to be too far for this 75 year old guy so I said yes I will come with you so me and Mrs Watcache made a plan do take some lunch and get away on the 19th, our driver Mr watcache and his off sider (with a crook hip ) Mrs 2 Bulbars dropped us off part way up the hill and off we went at a slow trot
All caches were still in good condition and most were well hidden but findable.
many thanks for placing these caches along here

Had a look around to see what was in the area.
These ones were not on the List
Lets go and have a look ,lets just go to the point and come back
As we only have the car this end
Nice easy find

Over the bay on a caching weekend with ABCDF4 and decided to look at the first 4 of Gechoes new trail. Parked in Whakatane and started at 9.45am and after a couple of 5 hours on the very well used trail found the last one at Ohope beach, hitched a ride back to Whakatane to get the charoiot. Awsome themed caches, magnificent views, and an awsome trail, thankz to Gechoe for bringing us over this way. Highly recommend.
Nice to come out and get some new smileys. A spur of the moment plan was made over night with Squirrel and a look at tides meant this was possible. Parked car at one end and started the other end.
Great camo
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

With McJandals… Usually, long weekends are for big Team missions, but this one is quite different. Several of our group are either isolating or have their own plans. I put out a tentative enquiry about doing the new Toi’s Track caches last night, and McJandals responded…
We did our pre planning and noted the tide timetable - Low tide was set for 12:40 PM, so if we set off at 10:00 AM, we should be on Otarawairere Beach at that time. Despite some drizzle, the ocean was flat and calm - a good sign. McJandals and I parked a vehicle at either end of the trail and started back for the beginning…
A well camouflaged hide - it blends in nicely with its host. Thanks Geckoh and TFTC.
Post note: We didn’t set any speed records for walking this track, that wasn’t our intention. We enjoyed the moment of arriving at each cache and the scenery in between. I especially appreciated having good company - our chatter helped to take the focus away from the changeable terrain… Thanks McJandals for your company.

I wasn't expecting new caches to be published while I was here visiting.
Decided to open the app this morning and saw 7 new caches nearby.
A nice walk here at a quicker pace than normal had me puffing away up the hill.
A quick find and another blank log for the 3rd [FTF] this morning.
Nice camo.
Thanks again Geckoh
