Logs
Today was to mainly work on the Barossa series and others in between. All caches found in good condition unless mention in log. TFTC
Enjoyed solving the Barossa caches and had the chance of looking for them. Thanks SpotemGotem.
Claiming the find as a beta tester as I was present when the cache was placed.Well done to team SG on placement. Hope this series provides a bit of a challenge and everyone enjoys.
Suscoe and Phetlern headed out to this area today for a bit of GeoArt trail fun and other cache finds as we went along. We certainly had lots of fun and we were lucky that the weather held out ok even though it rained lightly a few times.Great views, delightful countryside and great company. Thanks to SpotemGotem for this hide.
13:48Today we thought we'd go grape picking as the weather was conducive based on previous logs regarding road conditions. Lite showers during the morning made the roads a bit sticky, but did not impeded our progress and as we picked our way around this series. Our thanks to 'SpotemGotem' for adding this cache to the geo-gameboard.37588*This log composed and published using Geocaching Swiss Army Knife (GSAK).*
Found as a group called QANVT - Qld ACT NT Victoria Tasmanian group - during the mega celebration. Organisation credit goes to DavidWazza for organizing car pool, logistics etc. Our group was Kolour, Grumpy Bump - who apparently has done this geo- art before but the kind sir did not mind the drive around, myself and 007. Good team work.I volunteered my skills as the monkey up the trees. I really truly love this geo art! Thank you so much for placing. Tftc(Sorry for copying and paste. I do not like it but sadly must do the evil to log many wonderful caches).
We visit Swan Hill, Mildura, Renmark, Barossa Valley, Victor Harbour, Tailem Bend and the last night at Ballarat. We had a lot of fun travelling these roads and seeing the farms and wildlife along the way. Thank you for the puzzles really enjoyed this series.
Left the van at the Greenock Park and headed out caching the Barossa. Quick find Tftc
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state WA. Spending a few days in Nuriootpa to cache the surrounds. Tackling the Geo-Art today on a beautiful autumn day. Thanks for the hide.
Found with richlink as part of our Annual Caravan Geocaching Trip. We are staying in Nuri for a few days and making a start on the geoart today. Thanks for the cache series. SpotemGotem.
Out doing my two favourite things Driving and caching with my geosister H432LStaying at a beautiful spot in Towitta to do the Barossa series. First one down Coordinate Accuracy: excellent Cache Condition: goodTook: nothing Left: nothing TFTC
After working through the puzzles it was off to find as many as we could this week. Out caching with Hellyonfire and Tonka. TFTC
Now that the bike series was completed we continued onto the Barossa series. LB bid us a fond farewell at Swan Reach so now the convoy consisted of feathertop, GoodLook,Rapidlywild, TheDame and The Drovers. All puzzles were solved awhile before the journey as we were looking at doing them at SA mega time but decided wait until now. All caches were signed as The Mob and all were also found without any issues. The trail was a little all over the place but we got that sorted soon enough. Thanks for the hide and series SpotemGotem and thanks for a fun adventure Rapidlywild.
Plans have been in place for a little while now about a convoy from the Canberra Mega to head over to SA and finish off what currently stands of the On Your Bike series. Today being day 4 of the trip away, todays convoy consisted of GoodLook, TheDame, feathertop, The Drovers, FurfacesLL and myself.Today's primary target was the Barossa Grapes series of caches. Having them all solved not long after they were released, I managed to score 2 FTF's on this series with friends as I was in SA at the time. I was keen to return and finish these off, so we made sure it was part of the SA invasion plan. All caches were found and stamped as "The Mob" consisting of the above mentioned teams. We enjoyed the day using a range of TOTT's across multiple kinds of hides. Thanks for the cache placement and maintenance SpotemGotem and thanks FurfacesLL for another fun trip away
Day 3 of 3. After completing the nearby bike series, we drove to Nuriootpa. The plan today was to complete the Barossa trail. LB parted ways with us, as she had previously done them.We stamped the log as 'The Mob' to save space and time.'The Mob' this time included:- FurfacesLL, Rapidlywild, feathertop, GoodLook, TheDame, and ourselves.Signed and replaced as found. Many thanks for placing this cache, SpotemGotem, for us and others to find.
It was Day 3 and our large group of cachers known collectively as The Mob were ready to tackle the Barossa caches. Members included The Drovers, Rapidlywild, Lib, Goodlook, FurfacesLL The Dame and myself. We had a Mob stamp. This is a pretty series of bunches of grapes which once solved produced a less attractive picture on the map. This wass going to be hard to negotiate. However the series is well maintained and the Terrain ratings reflect the hides. A lot of trees were climbed, pole fishing was the go too. As a result it took us ages to do the lot but we got there. Very nice views amongst the grapes and even a field of stubble set on fire too.Logs stamped as The MobThank you so much for the series!
After tackling the '50' series, thought I'd get a few numbers from the grapes. All caches in great condition but there's been a few finds of late. TFTC SpotemGotem. Unfortunately a dead Skippy nearby.
Another day forecast to be a scorcher so we decided to keep local to our accommodation so we could pop back to refresh our drinks when needed. As we had started the Barossa Geoart yesterday, it was decided to have a go at finishing it off today. All caches and a few extras were found using a multitude of tools including ladder and fishing pole and some tree climbing thrown in for good measure. Thanks for the caches.#9126
And off we go to complete the last of the Barossa grape series.A few more scratches add to the ones from the last few days. More lovely scented trees and more wineries along the way. Was good today as only stopped once to get my caching buddy home in WA a bottle of Shiraz , we are actually wondering how many bottles she needs .Finished the grapes off then time to drive elsewhere for the odd cache.TFTC
3 March 2024 15:44 TFTC SpotemGotem for placing this cache, number 13563 for me. GSEL and I headed across the Tasman for the Leap day event in Adelaide. We are having a lot of fun, and trying to find as many interesting caches as we can as we head back to Melbourne over a few days. Logs signed as GI if full names not present. Many, many, thanks SpotemGotem for setting this cache up. Your work is truly appreciated by this crazy Kiwi! TFTC.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.
#14,219. Infoferret and I came over to Adelaide to attend the Leap Day mega event. After spending the morning geocaching around north Adelaide and picking up some adlabs in Gawler we headed up to do some caches in the Barossa Valley region. Its got very warm up here today. I solved some of these mystery caches in this region. Then Infoferret got enthused and solved the rest. So hanging off her coat-tails for many of these today. Sorry for the generic logs but it was too hot to take individual notes but really appreciate the effort made in preparing this geoart and hiding and maintaining the caches in this series. A very picturesque setting even if some of the "roads" were actually no better than goat tracks. Thanks SpotemGotem for hiding the cache here.
Late last night fitzy_1965 and I were trying to work out our plan F or G or goodness know where we were up to. We eventually decided on the Barossa series as we had solved all the puzzles before heading over for the Mega.We were surprised that we didn't come across any other cachers today. All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned. The day was ended with a campsite in Nuriootpa so that we could finish the trail in the morning.
34,408. Found with minniek during our trip to The Great Leap Forward Mega Event in Adelaide on 29th February 2024.Day 5 : After staying overnight at minniek's cousin's place again, we chose Plan H to fill in the rest of our time over here. This means attempting to do the Barossa Grapevine GeoArt series which we had pre-solved before this trip, plus a few bonus caches along the way. We had a lot of fun doing this series, many different types of hides, some challenging tree climbs, ladder climbs, fishing pole caches, all while enjoying the drive around the wine region. All caches were found without issue unless stated. This one was a quick find once we were at GZ. Stamped the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one. Thanks SpotemGotem !! We appreciate the time and effort put into a GeoArt series like this.
Only a short day of caching today together with goingplaces2, but it was a good day with a variety of hides found. All logs had plenty of room and containers were in good condition. TFTC.
Started out to find some more grapes with ilook4geo before heading into Adelaide for the CITO and the following event. No problems with the ones we picked and all logs were marked with our initials. Thanks for this part of the series go to SpotemGotem.
Attended the Leap Year event in Adelaide yesterday and today was the day set aside to visit the Barossa region to collect the grape geoart, visit Anna Tommy and also a few other interesting caches along the way. Our caching group for the day was Team QANVT.Thanks to all the COs whose caches we visited today and showing us around this lovely region.
Found with SPINBNZ Team Nice easy find thanks for this cache in this gorgeous valley SpotemGotem
We set aside the first of March to do the Barossa Puzzle Series and had a great, but exhausting day. We found every one of them and enjoyed the variety of hides. It was nice catching up with various teams at different caches, and even the odd curious land owner too. Thanks for the puzzle and series! The usual trio of myself, stainless steel rat and Budgietas was joined by Tassie Trekkers for The Great Leap Forward trip. We decided to cache down south around Goolwa, Victor Harbour and extended reaches for a few days, before basing ourselves in Glenelg for the second half of the trip where we cached around the city, the hills and the Barossa Valley with a highlight being a couple of hours on Adventure Island. Many thanks to the Mega Committee, all the helpers and many local COs who kept up busy and entertained. Most logs were stamped with Team Tassie.
Found with the Nelson crew. Staying in the Barossa for next few days so off to find caches
Adelaide day two: Teamed up with RoamingHowie, Papi4506 & Geoturtle37 to tackle a bunch of grapes and assorted others along the way. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, SpotemGotem ??~????????~
Oh My, not sure what day number it is or what caches I did yesterday, been caching for a while and the days and the caches run into each other. We started early today and had the Grapes in mind along with some special caches. It will be nice to hopefully have an art completed without any holes. To save space on log sheets we signed as BOLD 9. I like this area and the caches were different in parts. Some nice puzzles to solve and some good placements. We thought we were going to be short on one cache but we ended up finding the bison on the ground. A quick tie up and all good to go. Thanks for the caches and the hides, sorry for the generic logs.
TFTC smile 18591 ?? out and about on a lovely day ?? having a great time finding a few caches in Adelaide heading to cache at Barossa today signing as 5 for Qld Hatzofff?? Snickersallan ? RoddyC?? Imbunda ,? what a great team we made and lots of laughter and fun Thank you SpotemGotem for placing this cache for our enjoyment ????
This was our big day with us targeting the Barossa puzzle series and a couple of others along the way, we crossed paths with a number of other cachers, sometimes we helped and sometimes we just got out of their way. This was a great day out. This was the first trip to the mainland for this group of Tasmanians in a while, we flew over on the 24th and left early on the 3rd. With 4 days in Goolwa followed by 4 in Glenelg we managed to get some caching done in different areas and pull in a select list of caches we all almost all needed, old caches were on the list as normal but also some different D/Ts with some high fav pointed cache making up the remainder. The trip didn't start well with Qantus losing a bag which made us rearrange a couple of days but we got some 4WDing in and a even some driving on the beach to get a couple of different caches, boat trip to Adventure Island was a great start on the day of the Mega too.All caches were stamped "Team Tassie" which consisted of myself, gooseandegg, Budgietas and Tassie TrekkersFound on 01/03/2024 at 13:43:00 thanks to SpotemGotem for placing this cache for me to find. (9720) Today the primary goal was to get a number of the Barossa geo art series. Out with NZ_B and Marchwood. Didn't finish them today due to starting at 11.30 am and stopping at 5 pm to get a drink and a feed. Signed the log as NW.Thanks SpotemGotem for taking the time to place this and for bringing me here.
I was in Adelaide for the Great Leap Forward Mega, and a group of us (BOLD9) hit this trail. We could find many of these fairly quickly, with some being spotted from the car as we drove up to them. A few were quite challenging, and they needed extra work to locate.I enjoyed the challenges of the hides and the puzzles - with a few needing help from the CO, who was more than willing to assist. All caches were found in good condition unless noted. Sorry for the bulk logs, but we found so many in one day it's challenging to write something different for all of them. Thanks for the excellent series and the ongoing maintenance.
Out on a geocaching adventure today with Muzza, maccamob, Alansee, moonb1, Team Crackers, McLookers and ThePacman. The Great Leap Forward MEGA has been a blast.Plenty of hands and almost as many TOTTs made for light and quick work of this series. Thanks for placing the cache SpotemGotem.
A good set of puzzles, and there was only one type that I hadn't seen before that I needed to get help with. The CO was kind to provide a prompt reply, and otherwise it was a friendly series of puzzles.I reached out to a few Qld-ers to attempt this geoart together, and word must have spread as we had many vehicles heading around this series. We crammed four people per car to maximise efficiency and reduce vehicles along these back tracks, and then headed around the caches accordingly. We arrived at GZ, and it wasn't long before the cache was found. The cache container and logbook were in good shape, and we signed as Team QANVT i.e. Geocachers from Qld, ACT, NT, NSW, Vic and Tas; Perhaps it would have been better to be Team Central-Eastern Australia, and the team consisted of barb2E, Bellahappychappy, contesta, Cybergran V, [E_Smiley](https://coord.info/PREYGEN), [FlutterBeryl](https://coord.info/PRN5QPK), [Geo Johns](https://coord.info/PR3CXYA), [grannysmith1947](https://coord.info/PR8VQX7), [hatzofff](https://coord.info/PRW1PY8), icybeetas, [joojoo57](https://coord.info/PR81QV1), [kolour](https://coord.info/PRDR6H9), [patrol14](https://coord.info/PR39FN6), [Richmond Lad](https://coord.info/PR84NZ4), Riddell, [RoddyC](https://coord.info/PRC80AY), [Snickersallan](https://coord.info/PR9Y97F), weirdobiker, [Willis007](https://coord.info/PR70EP3). Thanks [SpotemGotem](https://coord.info/PR1C4P32) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------A trip visiting Adelaide from Brisbane for the [The Great Leap Forward](http://coord.info/GCA1DNA) Mega event!I arrived Wednesday 28/02/2024 evening ready for Leap Day on Thursday, and stayed with family across the weekend, before returning on Monday 4/03/2024 morning. Previous Adelaide trips are spent with family and friends, but targeted geocaching was this trip's objective, and I attempted to target unique cache types (virtuals, EarthCaches, Wherigos and letterbox hybrids), attractive D-T combinations, high Favourite Point caches, and the occasional pre-2003 oldie, acknowledging that I had found many cherished oldies whilst residing in Adelaide. In addition to Mega central in Beverley/Hindmarsh, my trip included visits as north as Clare, to Aldinga and Sellicks Beach to the south, and the Adelaide Hills (Hahndorf, Uraidla) to the west. In true South Australian style, I ticked off the three closest wine areas to Adelaide (Barossa, Clare Valley, and McLaren Vale). Additional highlights included Barossa vineyard meanderings, boating to Adventure Island in Outer Harbor, drain exploration via [The Shadowlands](https://coord.info/GC18AZY), beach walks of Port Willunga and Sellicks Beach, enjoying a beer at Willunga, and experiencing the Fringe Festival in Adelaide's east end.Today, the plan was the completion of the Barossa grapes geoart, and then return back from north-east of Adelaide via targeted D-T caches within the vicinity. After attending the morning's [Meet and Greet Walkerville Memorial Gardens](https://coord.info/GCAJ4H9) event, we proceeded north to join others, and completed the Barossa grapes geoart, before having an early lunch at Tanunda. [E_Smiley](https://coord.info/PREYGEN) and I then took the scenic (geocache) way back to Adelaide via Gawler, One Tree Hill, Golden Grove, Athelstone, and traversing the Black Hill gorges of Gorge Road Montacute Road. Highlights included the 1837 Barossa vineyard, many repurposed (Used 2B) churches, upper Torrens River scenic walks, and enjoying wild blackberries spotted by [E_Smiley](https://coord.info/PREYGEN).Following a pizza dinner refuel and returning [E_Smiley](https://coord.info/PREYGEN) to her vehicle, I called past a couple of Adelaide's south park lands geocaches utilising various TOTTs, before returning back to the family base well into the night.
GC9QYCW Barossa #034A group of us are down from Darwin and Brisbane for the leap year mega event. This is my last full day in Adelaide so we decided to tackle all those grapes we had solved and pick up various other caches in the area. To save space in the logs we have signed as BOLD7. Was meant to be BDLD7 but something got lost in translation. However 2 more have joined our team. So BOLD9 today it is.I have had a great time caching down here and will need to return with the family to explore the area (& caches) some more.TFTC SpotemGotem
RoamingHowie, OzHockeyChick, Geoturtle37 and myself set off today to find some high scoring favourites with the Barossa Trail as our main target for the day.We have finally arrived only to find that there are so many vehicles around and the dust is stifling. We chose to move on and start further into the trail which proved to work well as we only met a few other teams. All caches were found and had had maintenance performed on them before we arrived, should they need it so there were only a couple that we did first aid on.Thank you for the time and effort that has gone into constructing this trail and now maintaining it for all to enjoy.
With the Adelaide mega event now a mild hangover past, it was time to collect interesting geo-art and cache types while the BOLD09 are based in Adelaide. Today's focus was the Barossa and to pick the grape geo-art.This is my second trip to the Barossa in the last 9 months. On my first visit I had a few grapes earmarked for picking however the dirt roads had the consistency of jelly and looked undrivable in a conventual vehicle. So I looked at a few road entries from the bitumen only to see a few 4WDs reversed out after 10 or so metres. Mud ruts came to axle height so I tried walking. All I did was gain inches of height from the accumulated mud. I gave up and went to drink myself sillier at Clare.Today with a coordinated attack plan, the BOLD09 were out to finish the grape picking, which we did. Apologies on the generic logs. I'll elaborate on specific cache finds that have left me with memories of this great trip with geo-friends. Thanks SpotemGotem for a trip round the Barossa back blocks.
Out and about after the One day Mega and an early morning event we are heading up to the Barossa for a day of adventure in the geoarts.Caching with and signing as the group 'QANVT' and having a great day.TFTGeoart SpotemGotem
Attending the Great Leap Forward Event in Adelaide, we have travelled down from Brisbane Qld and are having a great time caching in and around Adelaide. Logs signed as 6 for Qld to save space.Team members, RoddyC, hatzofff, Snickersallan, grannysmith1947, Imbunda and myself.Today we have ventured out to the Barossa Valley to tackle the GeoArt caches out here. Beautiful countryside and love seeing all the animals. All caches were found in good condition. Many thanks for placing these caches.TFTC SpotemGotem
On a road trip with geo friends from QLD for The Great Leap Year Forward Mega 2024.It was a fun, action-packed day, with many cachers teaming up to gather geo art and various other caches along the trails. Our logs were signed as team QANVT to spare room on the log sheets and to speed up the process among the car pools.A special thank you to all cache owners for placing such good caches and the ongoing maintenance on them. Your efforts are a credit to the geocaching community and gives us many smilie faces on our map ????
I joined up with NZ_B and Mr-Mcgoo this afternoon to work our way through the Grapes GeoArt.Thanks to the SpotemGotem crew for creating this art and maintaining it.Much appreciated.TFTC
Day #10 Leaping Forward AdventuresAnd just like that leap day is done and dusted! As the next 4 years begin, its time to head out to the Barossa with OzHockeyChick, GeoTurtle37 and Papi4506.It was time to go grape picking! Slowly working our way around this rabbit warren of roads. All found in good order unless otherwise commented. Thanks SpotemGotem for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. ----------------------------------------------------------The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! Be sure to find all the caches and earn the souvenir before the tour is archived. The [Farewell Ballarat GeoTour Event - GCAFQ8B](https://coord.info/GCAFQ8B) is on 18 February 2024.Looking for caches to find when visiting Victoria? Why not check out the geocaching lists available on the [Geocaching Victoria Website](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists/). There are plenty to choose from including all of the previous nominees and winners of the Victorian Cache of the Year Awards.
Caching as team SPBINZ: Sidewaze, Paddlechick, Bullertrout, IsisNZ and Nanzie. This trip has been a "game of three thirds" for us. First we visited the Yorke Peninsula, staying at Wallaroo and then at Port Vincent. Then it was a couple of nights in the city, attending the Mega and looking to get the maximum number of cache types we could, a couple of hidden months for members of the team and lots of caches that crossed our paths. Now we're off to tour the Barossa Valley, visit a few trails, find lots of caches and generally have a good look around. One of our missions will be to put that bunch of grapes back together. No-one is really into wine-tasting, well put it this way, we'd all rather be geocaching, so geocaching it is ??, though I'm very pleased to say geocaching took us to several beautiful wineries.I do get a bit side-tracked when I'm caching and take time to enjoy the local flora and fauna. The plants are so obviously adapted to life in a dry climate, the birds are colourful and screechy, and the ants - - well, I've never seen such large ants or had such a vicious bite from an insect. There are lots of scenic views too, some of which attract action from my camera but of course many that just form part of the overall experience.Oh, but of course I also take my turn driving and sometimes I'm first out of the car and into the hunt, though I'm probably number 5 on the success stakes when it comes to finding the slightly elusive hides ??.Thanks for all your wonderful hides and for your contribution to a most wonderful caching experience and tour of the hinterland ??.
Found as part of the SPBINZ team (Sidewaze, Paddle Chick, Bullertrout, IsisNZ, and Nanzie). Now that we have arrived in the Barossa Valley the plan for the rest of the day is to complete as many of this series as we can. So far so good. TFTC SpotemGotem and kia ora from Aotearoa/New Zealand # 21,896Otepoti/Dunedin is the place to be 26-27 October, 2024 for GCA7ZHD - Geo Toroa Mega! Please come and join in the fun, find heaps of caches and experience some wonderful Southern hospitality.
Sidewaze, Paddle Chick, Bullertrout, IsisNZ and Nanzie are caching our way around the Barossa signing our logs as SPBINZ or some variation on that. TFTC SpotemGotem#16347

Find # 11616Well here it is, time for another MEGA, and an extra special one to. Its a leap year! ?? ??????? ??So before the main event I decided Id head down to Millicent and surrounds to collect some geoart, and some of the all important (to me) SFE challenges?? Day 7 and another not so hot day today. Today is an out and about around Gawler day, mainly for some geoart with puzzles long ago solved in anticipation of the mega time.Quite a group today, a convoy even, so lots of laughs and fun time that these caching events bring. Signing as QANVT as representative of the States and Territories here today. Thanks SpotemGotem for Barossa #034 ??

I have collected the south Australia souviner plus the leap year souviner too YAY!! It has been a big few days enjoying Adelaide and the surrounding areas. .So glad to be here
Today we set aside for the Barossa series and some other caches on the trip to and fro. Some very interesting tree fishing and climbing caches. We managed to complete the series and head back to Adelaide Thank you for cache series.
Adventuring today with Muzza, maccamob, Alansee, moonb1, Team Crackers, micaparamedic and ThePacman. Adelaide has so much to offer. Great Leap Forward MEGA has been a blast. Thanks for placing the cache SpotemGotem.
Im visiting Adelaide for the first time, here for the Mega which is also my first, with Willis007. Today we did a group find on this geoart under the name QANVT. Tftc
How very exciting the big trip has finally arrived! Down from Brisbane with a host of other geo friends with plans aplenty, enough to almost see us needing to extend or make a return visit. Our geonick for the trip is BOLD9 which is guaranteed to save the log paper for the 9 individual members of the team. As we make our way around sadly there wont be time for the usual individual logs and therefore just the old generic log will have to do. With little extra notes here and there if needed. Thank you for your cache which has added to my wonderful caching holiday.
BOLD9 headed out to the Barossa to pick some grapes plus a few others! Thanks for all the fab caches
Out today in the Barossa hitting a power trail with McLookers, ThePacman, Team Crackers, Micaparamedic, Moonb1, Alansee and Maccamob. A wonderful day caching with great company. Many thanks to SpotemGotem for the cache.
Mary and David had a Great Leap Forward yesterday. Today it was the Barossa Geoart, in convoy with McLookers, muzza, micaparamedic, Alansee, moonb1, ThePacman and Team Crackers, collectively signing as VIC 1. A great mix of hides, pole caches and climbs. Our thanks to SpotemGotem for a great day out..
The "BOLD9" group formed a convoy and chased down some grapes. A busy area today post mega with many groups on the road. A good mix of caches to be found TFTC!
Today Mr Mc-goo, Marchwood and I are finding some of the artwork on the in the Barossa valley. We have a plan Stan and are are looking forward to today. Each log we found was signed as WN -Wellington and Nelson, the cities where we live. Mr-Mcgoo and I are visiting Adelaide for the Mega GCA1DNA The Great Leap Forward on the 29 February. We are finding caches for the fun of finding them, or we are targeting specific caches - puzzles we have solved and caches that will help us complete challenges; for me it is finding caches with a D/T of 2.5+/2.5+ for the GC30AD8 DGSC Challenge (West Coast) challenge in NZ. Of course, there will be lots of laughter, no doubt at my expense ??????.Huge thank you to all the COs who have placed the caches we find and log today. Some of the caches will be used to help me meet the challenging module (I need to find 400 caches with caches with a D/T of 2.5+/2.5+) for the [GC30AD8](http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC30AD8) DGSC Challenge (West Coast) challenge in NZ.Kia ora rawa atu for the cache SpotemGotem.
Today is day 7 of our SA Great Leap Forward Mega adventure. Based at Goolwa, Mr T, Gooseandegg , Stainless-Steel-Rat and Budgietas concentrated on finding caches with appropriate D/T 's to fill their Fizzy Grids and this was one of them.We signed the log Team Tassie. This was a great series that traversed around the Barossa Valley area, along many gravel roads and catching up with fellow cachers, a top day out.We found a variety of hides with varying degrees of difficulty.Enjoyed caching in this area, cache and contents were in good condition. Many thanks to all CO's for your cache placement.
Having attended the Leap Year Mega Event an Adelaide an enthusiastic group of cachers from Queensland, New South Wales, ACT, Victoria and Tasmania decided to spend the day after the Barossa, Series. We met at a starting point and decided to sign the logs as QANVT save space and to represent the states from which the group came. Thank you for the wide variety of hides and challenges involved in completing this series.
Joined the expedition to the Barossa today with Contesta, Cybergranny and Icybeetas in the car and joined up with others covering all the eastern states plus NT. Signing caches as QANVT standing for Queensland, ACT, NSW and NT, Victoria and Tasmania. Great company and great fun and some great caching for the day. Started with the Barossa geoart and collected a few other local caches on the way. Tftc SpotemGotem
Joined up with an interstate team of friends to finally get this series sorted. Many hands and TOTTs make light work. An enjoyable series of puzzles and mix of hides.TFTC
Joined the QANVT group to cache around the Barossa area and beyond - searching for geoart as well as nearby other caches. I appreciate the time and effort the many CO's have put into placing and maintaining these caches.
The Leap Day MEGA drew me here to this lovely State, and gave many of us the opportunity of completing the GeoArt trails Id solved months ago in preparation.Participating with the QANVT team we had 4 different States in our car. Thanks to Contesta, our wonderful chauffeur from ACT, plus barb2E representing Queensland, icybeetas from Tasmania and Cybergran V from Victoria, we had a wonderful trip today. All caches logged as QANVT.Thanks for the mammoth effort of placing and maintaining these GeoArt caches. And thanks also for the hours of fun I had solving them in anticipation of this trip.
In Adelaide for the Great Leap Forward MEGA and caching the grape series during a very warm and dusty day. A range of high DT combinations for me. Signed as Vic1. Thanks, SpotemGotem for the fun.
*Barossa #0341.5/1.5 Small Mystery Cache Flew in from Alice Springs. Back in Adelaide after 14 years. Here specifically for The Great Leap Forward Mega and catching up with awesome Qld caching friends and revisiting Adelaide where we lived for 16 beautiful years! Pity I only started caching in 2015.Had a wonderful time reminiscing and admiring wonderful changes in the State, meeting friendly cachers and helpful COs and finding quality caches, high D/Ts, oldies, geoart etc.Signed Team QANVT - cachers from Qld, ACT, NT, NSW, Vic and Tas - to save writing all 30+ caching names.Thank you for the cache SpotemGotem.
Done as part of a group while over there for the MEGA. Signed as VIC1 as we occasonally do. Not one DNF which was a testament to the owners. Thanks very much for the fun.
We had solved the puzzles in this series in preperation for our leaping into SA trip.We headed off straight after this mornings event with McLookers, ThePacman, Muzza, Micaparamedic, Moonb1, Alansee and Maccamob to try our luck with this series. You would not call this a power trail but it was a lot of fun and we had laughs all day.We found all we looked for, some took a while but with this many eyes looking they could not stay hidden for ever.We all enjoyed the varied hides and terrains, happily we had all out TOTTS.We were having too much fun to take individual notes on each cache so are sorry for the cut and place logs, they are not meant to take away the enjoyment this series gave us all.To save room in the logs we signed as VIC 1Many thanks for all your effort setting it up.
A Leap Year Mega drew us to Adelaide. Now that it is over, it's time for some good old group caching This morning's target: The Barossa Grape Bunch Geo Art.We met at the designated launch point, and our Director of Logistics directed us to the Order of Business. We voted on using the Acronym QANVT to cover participant from all states. And so happily I say that the logs were signed and caches replaced as found on this day, 1st March 2024. TFTC, SpotemGotem. I loved being out in the bush and in and around the vineyards.
Another nice find with woolwood9 today. ????*Good to be on the Barossa trail with plenty of good hides and finds, I enjoyed the Tree Fishing caches and our fishing pole was well up to the task!*Found and onto the next one ????*Thanks for the huge effort along the trail. *????
Headed over from NZ with tmann421 to attend The Great Leap Forward Mega event.Enjoyed this trail and all the variety of finds.Have been looking at completing these puzzles for quite a while.Signed log... on to the next
13438 Located by baby&Mrs gopher ( Signed also as BMG ) in company with Errant Coyotes team. With 6 sets of eyes, the going was reasonably easy to spot the containers. We had been for a break and to have dinner and are now back with torches to continue the chase. A lot of the containers were much easier to spot in the bright torchlight. Between us, we had the TOTT to SL Tnx SpotemGotem
I am trying to make the Feb29 Mega in Adelaide my 20,000th find, and that means keeping a close eye on my numbers. So this is just a temporary log to help me keep my numbers accurate. I'll expand on this when I get home.Find # 19990
Travelled to SA from Brisbane for the Leap Day Mega event. Whilst we were around the general area, we decided to make a night of it and booked a motel in Angaston. We teamed up with Low1, GayeNT and JOT105 for this event and gave ourselves the team name of Errant Coyotes. All logs were signed as either our full team name or ECoy where the log was smaller. All caches were found reasonably quickly and replaced as found. Some do need some maintenance. Will call this out where noted.
2 days of caching the Barossa Grapes. Team Errant Coyotes from NT - low1 & JOT205, QLD - Simber15 & NSW - GayeNT as well as the ever funny Barry from baby & Mrs gopher, ran around like our team name to find the majority of these fun puzzles.
What a great time our team - Errant Coyotes + BMG had out today caching and team work to make the finds. Happy caching.
Whitepaws9 and I chatted and laughed along the way while we were doing the Barossa Series. Most of them were easy to find, and we managed to find 131 caches out of 158 caches. We did not finish all of them because we are not monkeys. LolLuckily, no snakes were seen. Thanks SpotemGotem for the cache
Hitting the roads with Csaba! and Malco!. Another fun trip with lots of cool caches to be found. Tra La laaa
Another day out with Malco! and SupaOrange. Avoiding the snakes we made over 50 finds. This trail has be fantastic. Really liking the variety of terrain caches. Thanks
Second day out with Csaba! and SupaOrange. This time we brought the big guns to tackle those high terrain, tree climbing, cable tie hanging caches which we couldn't do last time. With a bit of warm weather, the dry weather only roads were no problem and we filled in the gaps made when we were here before. Found another 52 - still plenty to do for next time. Happy to report 100% success rate. Thanks for the cache, SpotemGotem.
TFTC. Found cache on the ground not weighted. I think the wind blew it out. Signed and replaced snugly
In all our travels we would not have even thought to travel to this location.
(HaHa). In your dreams, these cachers do.
[:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort.

Dropped off our caravan at the van park, then straight off to visit Geostuff and SnappyTomCats before attempting a few caches.

I’m on my way to points north and I spot this. I’ve only solved a small number of The Grapes so far; the series is on my “ later” list. But this was one of the few already solved, andwas too convenient to go past without stopping. A quick find once I worked out which side I was meant to be on.
Thanks for the cache and the series SpotemGotem.

Ninth for today. Back to make more inroads on the Barossa grape. Hunting with the Waldos. Cache was on ground so have placed in likely spot.
The puzzle words work well in the Barossa. There are sheep that bleat. Lights Pass. And a family nearby called Plush !
Much thanks for the cache placement and maintenance SpotemGotem .
Another good vintage cache find.

Careful caching always, with Jack, Purrfect Di, and Sebastbat.
It's a dangerous world filled with rusty old mint tins and objects falling from trees
...... but a cache a day still keeps the boredom away
--------
Most of our caches are logged using the resources of gsak, garmin, and androids.
----------
Make sure that Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on (Covid cancels caching!)
Keep a safe distance - clean and cache the countryside
It's awesome of all those placing quality caches out and about around our country areas,
in sensible safe places and containers especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting
Of course we do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, or so we've been told! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where it is I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and perhaps we can put an end to these long logs !!!
[:o)]
The end. For now...
... until next time!

Today was a great day for picking grapes and we used a few different methods, although Mr Frog says it's difficult to fish when it gets a little breezy. If we visited at the right time, we could have picked almonds, figs and olives. We didn't have time to collect all the grapes but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with a mix of finds, and I still have a few puzzles to solve.
Thanks for a great series SpotemGotem

Have been wanting to tackle this series for quite a while and finally today was the day. Did find a couple of trads on the way so it was just after 10 before the first was found. About eight hours later, well after sunset, lack of light made it seem like a good idea to head home. Not sure, yet, how many I found but I'm guessing about a hundred. All were spotted quite quickly but getting to the log was not always as quick. Glad I brought the newish BIG ladder, it came out four times, over doubling the number of caches it's helped find. The pole came out a lot more often, and somewhere in between, were a number of free tree climbs. Looking forward to coming back to get the rest.
Thanks SpotemGotem for this cache and the great geo-art.
Cache #13270 for me.
