Finally I was able to find this one. Too bad, the spider couldn't prevent the cache from getting wet
TOGETHER WITH SCHATOH68 I MADE A TOUT TO THE SEA, THIS TOUR WAS NICE, THE OVERVIEWS WERE STUNNING. THANKS!
Together with Birba68 we had a wonderful walk and found some of the Caches. Thank you
Second attempt for this one and finally found it. Well guarded cache but e retrieved it from the guard. Log book a little wet. Thanks for the cache. Really nice series!
I have been searching for a tree with holes.Found one ! But it is not the good one.But i knew what to look for. Then easy findI am glad it was a fake one ....(The support it has been standing, broke so i put it on another one, same tree)
This could have taken WAAY longer than it did! Found it with pure luck tftc!
Out with JustLookingOO today and taking a walk on this lovely track. Took us quite a while to find this one, JLOO eventually got the right angle and spied the cache. Thanks for the cache.
Hat nicht lange gedauert so ca 5Min und gleich geloggt. Davor noch ne wunderschne Aussicht genossen
That took a while! And then we found 2 separate log books lying around . Untethered and maybe 5-6m from track. Moved back to approx 8 m and placed in hole.
Today I wanted to do some little hiking. I chose this one in Whatakane. It has some few very nice view to the ocean and good walking. Thanks for the cache. Greetings from Slovakia.
This cache looked like it had become detached from it's original placement as there was a long line beside it yet everything was unattached. So we secured it to it's object with the line and left it carefully replaced where we found it - which was a bit closer than the 8m clue. However, it seems to have been found OK by the following finders (who have done their logging before us) so maybe it's all good where it is. TFTC
A fine Saturday needs a day outside caching and this trail was ideal. Did the first 14 (forgot about 5.5) and have tired legs to prove it... but the scenery was amazing! Plenty of photo opps today. Found this one lying in the open but beside what I assume was GZ... signed and put back in his little home. TFTC
Took a bit of looking and the oyster mushrooms helped us too!! Not exactly what we thought it would be either but another lovely break on the walk. Fit those looking through previous logs it feels closer than 8m TFTC
I didn't have any luck on the way out, but had another look on the way back, stopped to t photo some oyster shrooms, and there was the cache, and log laying out in the open! Maybe it gave someone a fright?! Reattached it to the oyster tree... Not sure it's better right one, as I didn't spy a hole... TFTC!
Summer Geocaching Road Trip - Day 5 - Gisborne to Whakatane. It's been a while since I've been off on a road trip and this one has been on the cards for quite a while. I plan to visit some parts of the country where I've done very little caching before and hope to complete the qualification for a challenge cache in Nelson. I don't usually like to cut and paste logs but will make an exception for a "power trail" like this one. I've been fortunate with good weather on this trip up to now. Today was a bit more challenging but I was very lucky that the worst of the weather seemed to be over by the time I hit the trail. I really enjoyed the walk - as far as I had time and energy for today - from #1 to #15 - and the nice variety in containers and hides. Thanks for your efforts in placing and maintaining these and TFTC, Biggles.
8yr old nephews first find with the biggest fright . No pen and didn't log. Have proof of find.
That was a very great hike except the weather. I did all the Caches from #2 to #17
But don't found #15. #3 and 5 is wet inside.
A drawback is that nothing is written about the tide, so I could not make all the Caches and must go all the way back. I nedet about 4 hours.
Thanks and one point by 1 and 17.

This one took a bit of too & thro-ing with GPS etc but we got it yay. Beautiful day, wonderful walk and caches what more could you want!Over from the UK visiting family in Te Kuiti, exploring the north island and caching! So we're taking trips where we stay for a few days/week at a time before moving on to somewhere else or a few places before going back to spend time with family and back out again on another adventure.(Sorry for the very very late Log, between limited Data, some issues with our travel, some personal issues and a build up meaning the ADHD couldn't cope tackling these but finally getting logged Please forgive)
I decided to tackle some of the Toi trail after work, started some of the original trail years ago, but never finished it before it was archived.. It took me a while to find the tree with the hole and the cache was there. Got spotted by a fellow cacher who I thought was a muggle walking. TFTC
Cache had disappeared again, replaced and natural camo used to hide it.
Please ensure you re-hide well until the annoying muggle who keeps stealing it loses interest!

This one had us stumped. Checked all the insignificant and significant trees but no luck!
logging with permission from cache owner.
good to see replacement so quickly.

Did a check on the DNF's on the trail and they were in fact all missing, this one has been changed from a blue bug to a stingy bug, tethered to the hidey hole in the insignificant tree with a hole in the base
no luck here today.
didn't have my tape measure with me but checked out as far as traps and cliff edge.
even PAF who couldn't help.
fresh tree falls here also so maybe under them.
will have to come back another day.

This one had us clambering around for ages. But a widened search & bug was in hand. Tftc
This one had us searching for a while, GPS jumping all over the place. Widened search and there was the cache in its little hiding spot. A favourite from me. TFTC
Well there are some novel placements along this series ..well thought out keeping ones interest on full ️ alert ️..as coincidence happens I met a fellow geocacher who I hadn't seen in ages..great to catch up and chat Happy Bogan..we chated for a while...KL was oblivious and wondered on in ger own little world eventually the light came on
A quick phone call sorted it thank heavens for modern technology...oh yes the cache...I enjoyed the novel camo..actually blends in well thanjs team Geckho

This fellow has been "in a good paddock" He's had good kai here and is way overweight. Doubt if he could bite or attack anyone! Thanks for the placement geckoh
Now this one had me going around. My GPS was saying one spot but nothing. Figure the bush might be putting me out a bit so eventually tried another spot. And what do you know there it is. Phew I was hoping it wouldn't end up being that annoying green spot on my map today. Lol. Tftc.
A beautiful day to get a good start on these caches. Love this walk and many thanks to the COs for setting up this great trail again Love these caches TFTC
Third attempt at this series and managed to turn 10 more into smiley. Headed off after work with an hour or so of daylight. Got to the furthest point well after the sun had set and the light was failing. It’s interesting how somewhere remote and dark quickly becomes rather creepy if one’s alone. Enjoyed the finds on the way out. Thanks for all the thought and effort put into them. All the caches/logs were dry and in good condition. Thanks Geckoh for the smiley.
Walked to ohope and back. Was going to do the return by bus but I wasn’t waiting 90 minutes for it so put the foot down and walked back.
I used the hint for most of these to avoid any unnecessary tramping of the plants.
Great views to sea, along the cliffs and some of the pohutakawa are amazing.

The kids and I came over to Whakatane two weekends in a row to complete this trail. Starting at the beginning we walked to Kohi Point and back to start last weekend then this weekend we started at Ohope end and did the other half of trail. Really enjoyed this trail always good camouflage and hints from Team Geckoh makes for enjoyable geocaching I’m going to give each cache a FP either for location or camouflage I will be copying and pasting my logs as I don’t remember each individual cache but they were all good. Thanks Team Geckoh and I look forward to when you complete the Toi Trail
I was asked if I wanted to do the walkway from Whakatane to Ohope and after looking at it on the map it didnt seem to be too far for this 75 year old guy so I said yes I will come with you so me and Mrs Watcache made a plan do take some lunch and get away on the 19th, our driver Mr watcache and his off sider (with a crook hip ) Mrs 2 Bulbars dropped us off part way up the hill and off we went at a slow trot
All caches were still in good condition and most were well hidden but findable.
many thanks for placing these caches along here

Over this way for the weekend with EyespyBen {Whakatane}
Had a look around to see what was in the area.
These ones were not on the List
Lets go and have a look ,lets just go to the point and come back
As we only have the car this end
Nice easy find

Over the bay on a caching weekend with ABCDF4 and decided to look at the first 4 of Gechoes new trail. Parked in Whakatane and started at 9.45am, made it to the top so y not carry on to the point and after a couple of 5 hours on the very well used trail found the last one at Ohope beach, hitched a ride back to Whakatane to get the charoiot. Awsome themed caches, magnificent views, and an awsome trail, thankz to Gechoe for bringing us over this way. Highly recommend.
Nice to come out and get some new smileys. A spur of the moment plan was made over night with Squirrel and a look at tides meant this was possible. Parked car at one end and started the other end.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

With McJandals… Usually, long weekends are for big Team missions, but this one is quite different. Several of our group are either isolating or have their own plans. I put out a tentative enquiry about doing the new Toi’s Track caches last night, and McJandals responded…
We did our pre planning and noted the tide timetable - Low tide was set for 12:40 PM, so if we set off at 10:00 AM, we should be on Otarawairere Beach at that time. Despite some drizzle, the ocean was flat and calm - a good sign. McJandals and I parked a vehicle at either end of the trail and started back for the beginning…
We seemed to be cruising along at this stage. Good, explicit hints made finding inevitable. Sometimes we were able to see where we needed to search without navigation tools. No ‘Eww’ here - just a cache! Thanks Geckoh and TFTC.
Post note: We didn’t set any speed records for walking this track, that wasn’t our intention. We enjoyed the moment of arriving at each cache and the scenery in between. I especially appreciated having good company - our chatter helped to take the focus away from the changeable terrain… Thanks McJandals for your company.

I wasn't expecting new caches to be published while I was here visiting.
Decided to open the app this morning and saw 7 new caches nearby.
I couldn't find this one at first so moved along to the 7th and got this one on the way back.
Coords show this as being on the opposite side of the track as it is but the hint clearly states which side to look on, you just have to read the hint lol
Signed for my 7th [FTF] and replaced and now time to head back to the car. I noticed more of this series was published as I was getting back to the car, I was too buggered to turn around so they are still there for ftf rights.
Thanks Geckoh for this series. I don't think I ever did this walk back when I was a kid so it was awesome to experience some of it. Also saw a few groups of Weka birds which was cool.
