Find# 11956Nice quick find.Favourite point awarded for the sneaky cache.TFTC tassietan 9 September 2024
The whole family was out in caching territory today, with twelve on the itinerary. After finishing the Adventure Lab we were happy to find that this was on our way back to the car. After arriving at GZ and finding a likely spot, we were stumped (haha) to find no cache. After checking the hint we went back for another look and Bro found the truly amazing container - no chance of muggle damage here! Father had actually already picked it up and put it back not even realising! A favourite point from us - TFTC Tassietan!
Today we arrived in Dunalley, it was a huge drive day from Primrose Sands . After setting up camp and heading out for a fabulous coffee we did a nice walk around the town. We collected a few caches and did the AL. We loved watching the seals by the bridge and seeing the swing bridge in action. We really enjoyed the AL and even more so as there was a bonus cache to be found. Another nicely crafted piece from the tassietan workshop. TFTC
Keeping my stats in order.I have run out of time to do full logs.FLTF.Thanks tassietan TFTC.
Cache up and running again. Very wild and woolly in Dunalley today so hopefully finders wont get blown away. Happy caching!
A nice bonus after completing the AL. An easy find with the clue although the log was quite damp as the cache was missing its lid. TFTC!Cheers,The Hancock Clan
Enjoyed the lab did if from the car since it's a wet, miserable day. Cache is a very clever camo. Tftc
After completing the AdLab had the require info and headed to GZ. After what seemed he obvious spot no cache, So inspected a little harder and located a clever sneaky cache.Enjoy the effort put into the hide (as per beachcombing) so another reward for effort
Taking some time off to explore more of the apple isle with Roaming Howie. Day Three: Dunalley, Coal Mines, Port Arthur and various caches & AdLabs along the way.
A lovely peaceful spot for a cache, right before some bakery goodness.
Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, tassietan

It was time for a return trip to Tassie to explore the southern part of the state. I paired up with OzHockeyChick for a 5 day caching blitz with some sightseeing in between. Today was Day 3 and it was time to head east towards Port Arthur.
A lovely journey along the waterway ending with this cache. Time for lunch at the bakery.
Thanks tassietan for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

Weak sunshine greeted us on arrival, very different conditions to yesterday. We enjoyed completing the Adventure Lab - even saw the bridge open to allow a yacht to sail through. With the final coordinates, we went to GZ where accurate coordinates led to a quick find of a good cache. The cache and contents were in good condition. The real bonuses for us were a pair of green parrots very close to GZ and a pair of herons in the shallows. Thanks tassietan for the Adventure Lab and the Nonus Cache.
We enjoyed doing the AdLab and a it was a bonus being able to find this cache. It took us a little while to find but eventually we came up with the goods
Another cache that can go towards a challenge I’m working on.
Today the plan was to head off to the Port Arthur area and find a few caches, some on a list and some random ones. A find is a find

After 3 years without any substantial travel, using a trip to Tazzie as a dry run in preparation for overseas travel - travel packing, airline protocols, hire car arrangements, accommodation foibles and of course, geocaching without all our usual gear.
Certainly different to the Peninsula (Bellarine) we are used to, we had a great day on the Tasman, learning more history of the area than we learnt in school, as we found a variety of caches, such as this one.
After completing the Dunalley Foreshore Walkway Ad Lab, it was a real Bonus to add our name to the log here.
Thanks to tassietan for adding this cache to the gameboard.

Our last cache of the day was this Dunalley Walkway bonus. The rather strong cold wind that was blowing meant that we had done the Ad Lab by car as much as possible. Then, armed with the bonus cache co-ordinates, we headed for GZ. We looked closely at the object there, then touched something that fitted the hint. Very nicely done. Thanks.
Zozetta and I headed down to Dunalley this morning with the aim of finding a few caches. A great day out with good a total of 21 finds and some new locations discovered. We started with a solved puzzle before moving onto the new series on Blackman Bay road then heading back towards town, via the scenic lookout, then detoured to Forcett on the way home to quickly grab a multi.
I enjoyed doing the ad lab and learning about Dunalley’s history and this cache was a nice bonus at the end. A quick find was made at GZ.
Thanks for the ad lab and cache tassietan!

What a lovely container! Quick find, peaceful day out! Thank you so much for the cache.
We decided to tackle a few caches that have been published since our last visit and this was one of them.
Having collected all the required information for this Adlab we made a quick find, cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks tassietan for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

After doing the adv lab with The X-Trailers we found this cache . Very clever hide a fav point for lab and cache.
63ROOS take me drive around the place to country find few caches and Beautiful place... Im go back to canberra tomorrow ...thank you 63ROOs let me stay her house/drive everywhere for week.. tks
Found while visiting the area while we tagged along with muggle brother who had some commitments in Hobart, and we managed to have a short holiday, we had some time to explore, after completing the Ad Lab and gaining the required information we managed to make the find, TFTC and the fun
After commitments in Hobart I decided to look for caches on the Tasman Peninsular. This was the last find for today, thankfully because a very cold breeze was starting to make things a bit unpleasant. A great Ad/Lab followed up by an unusual cache deserves a favourite point.

Find #12954
In Tassie for a few days with beckNmonts and Earthbound Chief. Have been having a ball and continued along our merry way with some fun cache finds.
Day 4, our final day in Tasmania. The plan was to try and do as many earthcaches as we could as well as whatever else we came across.
Our final day in Tassie for now ended up involving quite a bit of driving, a heap of multis, some ad labs and of course the mentioned caches.
Massive thanks go to tassietan for placing this one.
Big things are continuing to happen! *Are you joining the fun again in 2022?*

We have realised that we have nowhere near enough time to find all the puzzles we have solved for this trip. So what will we do? Today we will focus on Multis and Earth caches instead!
Mazda StarBounceSky, the Standard Poodle, and trip mascot, is enjoying her view of the countryside via geocaching. Apparently it was hard when she lived in the Hobart Airport Bookshop.
Earthbound Chief, ahomburg, Mazda and myself started the day at our now “regular” breakfast spot, to caffeinate for the day, then headed off again with our gratefully borrowed fishing pole and ladder. Today we were venturing further from the accommodation with some earth caches in our sights.
Thanks for the caches and puzzles we have had fun solving, tassietan
I’ve added a favourite point as the labs were so fun

Today we found Dunalley Foreshore Walkway - AdLab bonus cache on our travels. We are on a lightening fast visit from Melbourne just because…well, maybe it’s all those puzzles we solved during those many lockdowns! Having the opportunity to sign some actual logs is exciting!
Thanks tassietan for being part of our geocaching fun.

Had our 3year old grandson with us today and he loves going on a treasure hunt. We stopped by the great playground where he had fun on the long slide and on the “excavation” digger.
After that fun we completed the AdLab and then onto this bonus. We pulled up and parked the car and we thought this was going to take some time but luckily lady membsec started her search in the correct area and soon had the very clever container in her hand. Geo grandson was very curious with its design. After signing we replaced how we found it.
Once again another favourite point.

I think I may have had my hand on it before moving onto another tree and then having to retrace my steps. Great camo. TFTC and the AL.

Congrats on receiving an Adventure Lab tassietan, and thank you for this bonus cache.
After spending the afternoon around Murdunna, we stopped in Dunalley to complete the adventure lab, and then search for this bonus cache.
The sun had set by the time we completed this, but we still had just enough light to spot the cache. Another great container. Thank you!

A day out with a Rat and a Goose in the Primrose Sands / Dodges Ferry area looking for caches that had been placed since the last time I was there.
Some really good caches among the caches found today, including a couple that will get favorite points
TFTC
Great Lab Cache with an interesting tour around Dunalley, followed by a brilliant hide for the bonus cache. Favorite point given

We decided there was enough time to detour via Dunalley on our way home so did the adventure lab and then came to find the bonus cache. I had lots of déjà vu moments today, another one here as I'm sure there was an old cache right near here.... maybe I'm just getting old and losing it!
Once we focused on the correct hint, budgie came up with the find. It's a good thing we brought him today, he did well.
Thanks tassietan, for the AL and bonus cache
Back to the city to do some community maintenance now.

The 3 of us didn't have a real plan until about 10 last night, with Budgie coming up with the idea of Dodges Ferry to clean up a few caches before heading back to drop him off as he had a better offer in the afternoon, then myself and Goose could do a maintenance trip to one of the caches we look after.
This turned into another great caching trip with us having a some fun cleaning up an area I'd not been to in a long time, we had one DNF so we'll be back soon anyway.
Thanks for the cache.

Hi tassietan
After an enjoyable Adventure Lab series, it was a pleasure to find this cache quickly
It was Sainted at 1150 hours
A few muggles trundled past while at GZ but they had no idea of why I was studying the surrounds
Following this find, I joined Anne in the Cannery where our FISH CHOUDERS were enjoyed immensely
Thanks for the ALs, this cache and another opportunity to enjoy the great food at the local restaurant
Cheers OldSaint

Thought I would go for a drive around the peninsula today and clean up a few of the new caches. I grew up in Dunalley and haven't moved to far away. Used to ride our bikes along both sides of the canal as kids, jump of the bridge and swim in the canal. Don't see many people doing that these days. Have also been the the actual monument a couple of times. Have attached a pic of the monument and a pano of Dunalley from my drone.
Mrs W thought she would head to Dodges Ferry and around to Dunalley to find a few caches as the forecast wasn't promising but instead the sun shone (only momentarily) and she headed to Dunalley and then onto Murdunna. The lure of caches to find meant she pushed on but the weather was awful. They say you see all 4 seasons in one day in Tassie, but today it was just the "Arctic Blast". You could have surfed into King George Sound! All the caches found today were wonderful creations and found with very accurate coordinates. It was a "tassietan" day of finding creative hides. Thanks for the fun, not the hypothermia! Well done on your first Adventure Lab, it was an interesting tour around Dunalley.

Hi tassietan, well I reckon I might be the only cacher that can walk to this GZ after walking along the canal collecting the information on the Adventure Lab and checking on one of my caches along the way. It was drizzly and cold but couldn't resist a cache so close especially when I need one for my calendar - double bonus. As I was attempting to log the cache 63 ROOS wandered along and after spending an hour looking for it yesterday she was pleased to be with me when we logged our joint FTF at 9.25am. A lovely hide I can understand why it took 63ROOS so long but great coordinates put you at one place and then it was a matter of inspecting everything. Thanks again for the AL and a Joint FTF bonus! Loving your caches.
Very sad to disappoint no FTF for me today…
Sent to CO for hint , reply back with explain hint, absolutely definitely spot area , took me searched everywhere for a hour, still unlucky .. DNF …
Good luck next finder…
Absolutely beautiful LAB … thanks tassietan ..
