Logs
It was a bit tricky as the cache appeared to be knocked from its original location
I had visited here previously in the hope of making a quick lunch break find. That didn't happen.Returning on a Sunday seemed a much better idea. I had plenty of time but I sure needed it. There were plenty of potential hiding places and I eventually find what I was after in a place I didn't really expect it to be in.
Kids and I spent about almost an hour but couldn't find it. Will be sure to come back another day and give another try!
Success just as I was about to give up. Cant get the log out to sign but found it Tftc
Success just as we were about to walk away!Dont give up check high, check low, who knows Log book is jammed in cache so couldnt sign but placed backThanks for the cache Found a cache, left a duckAdventure club
A good hiding spot in a quiet part of the gardens. Nice and dry here. Thanks Devluna
Pretty little spot. Tricky to grab on a muggle-heavy sunny Sunday afternoon but we got there in the end. TFTC. Found with Kea_wolf and the geo-family
Have found this before but no pen to log. Came back today with 3 year old and he picked it up before we even started looking! Thank you
Easy find for the mini-geocacher-who-loves-ground-caches! And a quick swing too! TFTC.
Found it lying on the ground. Not sure where it should be. Thought it was a piece of garbage first. Put it into the ground as hard as I could.
Found right by my feet by Nutty Nora. No cap but we searched a bit more and found it. Cache is now back where we think it should go. A really grate cache.
Found it in the open. Re-assembled all the bits we found and placed back. A grate find for me and Squirrel in the Middle down from the North Shore.
Easy find, have tried to hide it better today, until a big gust of wind comes along!
I looked for 10 minutes to no avail then Mrs friwi turns up and found it in less than 10 seconds. Thats why we cache as a family. TFTC
Searched every orifice of a certain tree and around the ground and bushes but didn't dub up
We did search f'r about 20 minutes, howev'r th're wast nay luck. Using the hint, we bethought we hadst an idea of wh're t couldst beest, but still couldst not seeth aught
Had an interesting stroll to and from the GZ, a small area of the park was set up as a movie set - had to wait and watch them film a scene. It's a NZ film coming out in the theatres next year - called Kora (I think?)Back at GZ ... What a pretty setting - Tuis singing in the trees above, Kereru eating tree berries and a heap of baby duckings paddling close by in the slow moving stream.Made a quick find at GZ as saw the log on approach, the lid was sitting next to cache out in the open.Dropped in a replacement waterproof log and double bagged for the CO. All good to go for the next 'sharp eyed' to find. A favourite given - TFTC
Easily found this morning as the coords were spot on. Thanks for the informative cache.
The GPS took us to the wrong side to start with, after searching a number of places we came across the right one. Thanks DevLuna

The name of this cache intrigued me. Walked over from The Dowse and could see the feature from the opposite side of the water - quite neat really. Didn't find it in the obvious spot then we both spotted the cache at the same time from opposite directions. TFTC # 19,821
3rd time back here and searched at GZ. Lots of places to hide a cache here, but none where I looked. Eventually damned if I was going away with a 3rd DNF I called a friend who pointed me in the right direction away from the obvious place to a random spot further up the bank. Lo and behold jammed into the ground I found the cache. Opened the lid (as a previous cacher mentioned with a loud pop) and a soggy mushed up log came out that I couldn't even unfold. Took a photo as proof of find and placed it back in the random spot. For future cachers : Think "long" about the location.
This has been a frustrating one. After combing the area a while back I sought a hint. Quick find today but the damp log was so jammed in there was an audible pop when I finally extracted it. A cache befitting of this July Souvenir streak. Thanks DevLuna, though this be madness, yet there is method in’t.
No find for us here - I should take up knitting, but even at that I would just keep dropping stitches!
I got to Lower Hutt nice and early to prepare for me afternoon and what do you do when you're early somewhere? Find caches of course!
I had a good look here and out but had no joy sadly.

Finished my wander of Lower Hutt today with a sit in the park with some sushi, then wandered over to this cache. Lovely hide in a beautiful location. Tftc!
An early morning visit to the newer caches around in the Hutt, hopefully lessly muggly (although it is a bit muggy this morning). Spent ages looking around in the obvious places before taking a closer look at the logs which changed my way of thinking. Still not getting anywhere until I spotted something out of place and revealed.....well, let's not get carried away. Signed and carefully rolled back up the log, and replaced. All good here, and TFTC
I was expecting a Salix specimen after all that weeping in the cache notes plus the Dowse being closed with its web site not updated, grrr. Thanks DevLuna
A nice quick find. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off on our annual pilgrimage to Auckland to visit family. Heading home and we are travelling Wellington to Picton today. A beautiful day, though a triffle warm at times! The ferry crossing is calm at this stage!
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

We'd been visiting the Dowse and the library and saw this cache was nearby. Lots of potential hiding spots but reading over previous logs helped us look in the correct place so it was a pretty quick find. Hadn't seen a cache quite like this one before, nice to see something different. TFTC
I popped by last night as I had a wait for my bus back to Wellington, tomorrow avail, came back today and saw that as obvious as it was you'll miss it if you go for all the 'perfect' hideyholes
Lovely day today, but quite a few muggles about. Co-ords kept moving about both sides of the river, under the trees and in the open. With far too many places to search I searched the obvious spots, but after wandering around for 20 minutes I started feeling like I was being watched and called it a day.. Second DNF of the day
Checked cache. Re-rolled log- lid fits nicely. Removed some nasty hunks of glass from around the site. All's well.
We came down to wellington again , this time for Christmas, and went to visit bro in Law at Lower hutt and so once again we went to this park area for another hunt for this elusive cache .
This time was was slightly armed with a loose hint! which although helpful was actually probably not needed as i put my hand on it within sec onds of arriving at GZ.
The lid on the cache is loose and doesn't fit snugly and is likely to be easily knocked off exposing the contents . - so a check on this would be good as it is a great cache and deserves to be kept going .
I took nothing and left nothing . thank you for this cache .

#13,271. Park, walk and grab in Hutt Central, Lower Hutt. Fortunately GZ was pretty quiet at the time of our visit. Found after a short search. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Not my first visit but this time with an extra hint from previous visitors, soon spotted uncovered.
Much difficulty extracting the log as it had been stuffed down in a bunch. Please be more considerate for those following.
Replaced and covered a little.

My early morning ferry was cancelled, so I had to take a later one. I noticed there were several caches close to my motel. What should I do? I have some spare time and nearby caches to be found. Wait. I'm thinking. I'm thinking...
I searched in the usual places for some time before I read the past logs. One of them gave me a renewed hope by telling me to look in a slightly different place. TFTC.

#11,890. I had heard stories about this cache. So I was expecting to search for a while. Well I had helpers today. Four ducklings and the Mum came up to me and nibbled at my toes. I took this as a sign the cache was down low (not wanting to make the same mistake the Earthlings made when they failed to recognise that dolphins leaping upward was a sign to leave the planet before it was blasted to smithereens for the intergalactic bypass). But I digress again. I scratched away the leaf litter and soon spied something a bit different. Yes its the cache. Nicely placed Devluna. Signed and returned where found.
Took a few minutes of checking nooks and crannies before I spotted it next to a strange man-made feature...
Thanks for the history

Search part 2, after part 1 ended without success. My driving student used theogwilding's technique and somehow soon found it! This could be a devillishly difficult find. TFTC.
Macfam41 found it. What's that doing there ?. Very clever. Hidden in plain view. TFTC
Easy find though lots of muggles at the playground. Pretty park in the Spring. Signed log and replaced where found. TFTC.
Me & D went round & round in circles for quite some time, until decided this had defeated us.
My first act was 'A comedy of errors'. where I searched the wildwood to no avail. A prompt from a previous finder convinced me I was making 'Much ado about nothing', so I resumed the search today. Eventually I located the prize, and was able to rejoin 'the merry wives of Windsor' at the quilt symposium. TFTC
i to played the game. How many times can you walk around the tree? Bike is in for a service so i had the time to do a proper search. Nice hide.
Thanks
Thanks
I came here a couple of weeks ago and hunted around for a bit without any luck - the GPSr was pointing me right at the tree and that gave me no joy. Came back this morning after having received a bit of a hint from a previous finder and turned it up pretty quickly. I had been right on top of it last time but hadn't dug deeply enough. Signed log, TFTC
