HS and I were in the Waiarapa on a road trip to find some of the Swifty series. However, driving through Masterton, we stopped to find a few trads. HS got very excited spying a "Little Library" near GZ. Alas, it was all facade! We are not sure what the structure is for. Anyway, no time to stop and read books. Thanks ThatDarnBear for placing this cache.
A cute little track between the roads . At first we thought the structure there was a little library Yea We thought ! but no it is just empty ! cache was soon located .and we were on our way .What a day and it was only half of the series plus the math journey puzzle caches and we had wonderful weather for the whole day . We left Palmerston North at 8.00 a.m. visited Eketahuna on the way and then onto Masterton for another 4 caches before heading to the Maths journey cache around Dalefield area etc. we found all of these plus a couple of others but some were full of water or very rusty. We had lunch at Dalefield school before heading down to Greytown for several more caches and then we set out on the bigger run with these Nifty Swifty caches that we had solved . We had not solved them all but had plenty of caches to do for the afternoon before we started on the return thro Gladstone , Masterton and Home to Palmerston North . All of these Nifty swifty caches were well put together using double or even triple containers to keep the log dry . Thank you to these C O that constructed this series and the time spent working together and to collect the set of outside containers used for these caches. We found all we set out to locate except one Do Shush Up # 33 which i am sure has fallen from its perch. Thank you .
#14,632. Park, walk and grab on this park-like street in Masterton. Fortunately, the GZ was relatively quiet at the time of our visit. Quick find. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside.Took Happy Holidays Tag 13 (laminated copy)Left nothing, signed log.*Thanks for the geocache placement, and for bringing us to this site, and **.T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e.**.M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.*

18 June 2023 15:56 TFTC LL113 for placing this cache, number 12709 for me. Another much appreciated QEF.
Quick find as me + Infoferret clear Masterton of the caches neither of us have found. Thanks LL113
In the area today with time to score a few unfound caches. A quick find here, all in good condition. Signed log, TFTC
After taking part in an orienteering event at Henley Lake, I had time to find a few caches before heading home. I was quite surprised at how the number of unfound (for me anyway) Masterton caches had grown. I do recall visiting this location previously to find a cache but I have no idea where and how that one had been hidden. I never actually noticed the hint item but I quickly found what I was after. TFTC, LL113
Easter weekend, and with the paradox that only family can create, I both need to be in Wanganui and not in Wanganui at the same time. Having navigated that conundrum earlier in the weekend and also having completed this months Wheel of Challenges: Seeking Smileys challenge, today was all about making my way home to a comfortable bed, and collecting a few geocaches along the way.
All quiet here this morning, which made for a short search and the cache was found safe and well without any problems.
Thanks to LL113 for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.
[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.

#12,609. I decided this weekend I would head up to Pongaroa - Dannevirke area to work on finding some of the Viking series I have been solving over the past month. Its quite a long haul up Route 52 and I didn't start finding any of the geoart until after lunch. But I did stop in Masterton on the way through to pick up several caches. This was one of them. Can't remember if I have been through The Crossing before. I did park nearby and soon spied the cache hiding spot. But had no sooner opened the container when I heard a latch opening nearby and I got back on the path before a local started her morning walk. After exchanging pleasantries I was back to business and soon had the logbook signed. Replaced as found. Thanks LL113 for the cache.
Interesting spot with a walkthrough but also houses and people's driveways.
Nice spot though, enjoyed finding the cache here
Thanks for placing the cache LL113.

Today is the EtherGrandParents' 45th wedding anniversary and the extended Clan are meeting for a celebratory lunch in Masterton.
After an excellent meal, it's time to head back to Palmy, but it'd be rude not to find a cache while outside of my normal hunting grounds!
Looking on the map a day or so before our trip, I saw this one near the restaurant and noted who the CO is, our good friend LL113. This definitely increased the [W.A.F.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wife_acceptance_factor) of finding a cache during a family outing from to
Arriving at the nearest road access point, I rested at a likely host but the compass told me to keep going.
Spotting another likely host, I put my phone away and soon had the container in hand.
I took it back to the car to sign and for the EtherSprogs to swap some super swag! ... only to find that **none** of them had brought any with them like I had suggested. Oh well, I guess all the cool toys will have to stay there for the next person?
Thanks for the smile, and the smiley

A nice quick find, in a nice area. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off for a wee break "up north". Today we drove from Masterton to Wellington to catch an early morning ferry. The weather got wetter the closer that we got to Wellington.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

We spent the night very close to this cache so it was our first find for the morning whilst we walked the dogs. A nice quick find in pretty little area. TFTC

Visiting Masterton for work and pleased to have a few more cache to tick off. Quick raid after work and soon signing the log. Thanks for the clear hint and a smiley
Another Wednesday road trip to keep the numbers ticking over. After heading up to Ashhurst I went over the Saddle Road and back down through the Wairarapa. No worries here at all. TFTC
I am spending this weekend in the Wairarapa, in the company of some great caching friends. Having driven over yesterday after work, and spending a wonderful evening of relaxing, drinking, and talking complete nonsense (as you do), we were now having a relaxed afternoon around some of the interesting parts of Masterton.
This was one of a few caches we chose to visit as we collectively made our way towards Henley Lake where we had planned to be around lunchtime. With the CO in our party, how could we not? We were in 2 cars, which somehow contrived to end up at opposite ends of the crossing. The CO insisted that my car had gone to the wrong end (which was really the right end because of the shorter walk to get to the cache lol).
A quick search produced the cache. I was almost expecting to find a Hollandaise Sauce jar :p
No issues at all with the cache or log, which soon had our names added to it.
Thanks for putting this cache out. FP given for the laughs along the way to get this one

Spent a great weekend in the Wairarapa with two carloads of friends. Heading now into Masterton (I keep think it's Hamilton!!) to get the caches on the islands. We're a little early so passed by some caches along the way.
This is rather a nice area. My carload (okay, the car load I was in) had the CO as the driver (which I didn't realise until writing this cache log up)and she recommended we stop on the south end of the Crossing. The other car was in front of us and drove on further to park at the north end of the Crossing. So they were ahead of us, but drove further, to the next street, so that they had less distance to walk. We were behind, drove less, had longer to walk (and anyway, the CO assured us this was nicer. She was right.) And, of course, the two groups arrived at GZ at the same time!
Being two carloads, there is a crowd of us, so I left them to search of there (the sensible place for a cache to be) while I carefully ruled out the places the cache shouldn't be.
Nice area, but incorrectly drawn on the maps. I'll get that fixed tonight.

(# 7314) On a trip up to the Wairarapa to catch up with fellow cachers. A quick find by another member of the team. Such a nice spot for a cache. Thanks for bringing me here.
Time for another Twig Tour, this time to the Wairarapa. 4 cars and 10 of us ready for a fun day out. Down to two cars here parking on each side of the lovely walkway. TwigNZ sent this one flying out of it's spot to the entertainment of the watcher on ers. Thanks for the cache LL113 .
A man in a wheelchair and his partner/friend were enjoying a picnic lunch opposite the seat but fortunately I was not visible to them when I was at GZ. None of the neighbours or other muggles within visible range.
At first I thought the cache wasn't there but it turned out that it was nicely hidden and a refreshing change not to find a pill container at such a location as is so common.
A nice spot.
Giving this a favorite point.

Found it!
Picked up the resident TB, was going to do a swap but the two I had with me were slightly too big!
Felt quite exposed looking for this cache near the houses so I snuck back to the chair with it to sign and retrieve the TB before popping it back

Out finishing the challenge for this month, great day with only 2 dnf, thanks for the placement.
Found on a pretty unpleasant winters day, but a find was well overdue for me. Thanks LL113 for adding another cache to the area, especially such a well organised cache. TNLNSL TFTC

Today is not a good day for caching and not because of the weather. The Nifty Swifty is in being repaired after backing into a big black vehicle whose presence was hidden by the dark trees behind it.
However, whilst I did contemplate biking, when the ViMomobile became available, I was off - not like a bolt of lightning though.
Congratulations LL113 for your first hide (a favourite given) and may there be more, especially in the Wairarapa. Many thanks for bringing me to this lovely place.
