Maintenance and repairs complete. But just to reassure future cachers, while hard to see and retrieve, this container is definitely in place. It should be noted that to find the initial hiding place is NOT enough to claim the find. The Cache must be found and log book must be signed. All part of the adventure. But this is quite achievable if you follow the suggestions. Have fun

24-May-24
CO needs to perform some minor maintenance on this cache due to exposure to elements over time. Back soon.

We're assuming we found it, but without TOTT there's no way of knowing.

Spent 20 mins and couldnt find it. Nor did two geofriends with me. Leaving a DNF and shall come back with extra TOTTs in a few years or so

# 9143 Day 2 of the Adelaide Lap Day Mega tour. Flying solo at this stage as others make their way over at a more leisurely pace. It was busy for me however. I started the day by heading into the city by tram during peak hour to:1. Get coffee2. Get the two webcam cachesAnd any others I happen to cross. I had to pick up the hire car back at the airport at some stage, but no hurry.I spent the afternoon around Grange and Westpark grabbing all sorts of caches. I focused on those with good Fav points and I was not disappointed. Finally headed back around dinner time.I used my claw grabber efficiently here. Thanks Contact Zero for the Traditional Cache

I'm here from the USA and very happy to have brought a clothes hanger from where I'm staying. This wouldn't work in the NE USA because of more rain and snow and frozen ice. TFTC

Heading down to Adelaide for our regular caching day, caught up with Mattycat and Sebastbat in the Barossa enroute, been a while since we have cached around here and enjoyed revisiting the area, cache was found after a short search, once we spotted the hide could just make out a possibility fortunately the right tool confirmed our suspicions as the cat extracted the hide, another clever hide and a fav pointTFTC Contact Zero Wink

June Wheel of Challenges under way and getting my daily cache for an SFE Challenge, two birds one stone!

The weather wasn't going to put me off! I parked, walked to GZ and from the beach I saw it immediately. Before I went Tomb Raider I used PAF to make sure. After nearly being lead on a wild goose chase I stuck with my gut instinct and commenced the climb to a successful find.

Water inside the cache, used my stamp which didn't go well lol, so wrote over in pen as the paper is a waterproof type material.

Another well earnt for CO Contact Zero

South Australia is the place be for GCA1DNA - February 29th, 2024 in Adelaide! Let's show the rest of the Geocaching world what Australia is made of at The Great Leap Forward!

surprised ourselves and found this one instantly! very very cool hide, rewarded a favourite point
unfortunately log is absolutely soaked must be the storm we just had TFTC Very very cool

Amazing cache, was looking for almost 20 minutes and walked past it 6 times. So sneaky and clever.

One of the best caches ever <3

We rocked up, we climbed rocks, but no luck for us today. I think we'll have to rock up another day with a rock solid friend.

So we PAF and got some help from the CO and went back for another look. We can't believe how many times we looked at that and didn't move it. It reminds me of Dustins Cache and how I held the cache in my hand while searching for the cache. This one is almost as embarrassing. We read the logs and assumed we knew what we were looking for. Wrong. Should have trusted geo senses. TFTC and the help Contact Zero

Yet another fantastic cache camouflaged to blend in and not be found easily. Smile Another favourite point from me. [:X]

A quick maintenance visit to check on this favourite cache of mine due to it’s rather exposed position. All is well and even better still now that the plug has been replaced. Go get it folks. But don’t forget you’ll need your TOTTs for this one

14-Apr-23
Can see it but no retrieval equipment today. Will be back.
Love the hide though.

14-Apr-23
Found it TFTC

12-Mar-23
This cache has been repaired and is back in position. What the CO has learnt as a tip re access to this hide is that it is best tackled on a cooler day, when sunbathing folk are fewer Or early morning / end of a beach day.
Or if very patient, wait till Summer weather is well behind us. Happy caching

07-Mar-23
We took a quick look and think we found the cache location, but not 100% sure. Being that CO has temporarily removed will log as note.

Greeting from BC, .

21-Jan-23
CO has done a maintenance check today and found that it is mostly in order and can still function as intended. *Thanks to Michelles&hound, the covering rock has been found and replaced. However, the rubber plug has gone missing. This was a cute feature and somewhat useful but is not essential as water proofing has been addressed in several ways. It may be replaced in time. Happy hunting.

Found it, loop is damaged but still reachable

Not sure this one was quite how it was supposed to be so I replaced as I thought it should have been. This is a goodie TFTC

Found on a nice ride along the bike path here with TheCrazyOne1441, caching as we go. Rode down onto the beach and climbed the rocks. A quick find and retrieval once at GZ. Cool little cache here, cheers.

Find #4709 on 5 Dec 2022.

02-Dec-22
The CO has visited the Rock, carried out some minor maintenance and TLC and to restore all components to position. All good to go folks

01-Dec-22
This cache has a “plug” that covers the hiding place but please replace this loosely. If too firmly shoved into place, it becomes hard to retrieve for next person. Despite wet environment, a firm seal is not needed due to water proofing. Thanks.

22-Nov-22
Here from the UK visiting our son who lives just up the road. Took the opportunity to look for this one whilst they took the cat to the Vet, family not catchers and do not appreciate the time it sometimes takes to find hiding places. However relatively quickly spotted obvious rocky anomaly but retrieval was another matter.luckily was carrying a suitable TOTT so cache was eventually to hand, nice dry log (despite container being in water) signed and all replaced as found. TFTC +.

19-Nov-22
Amazing cache! For the people who said they think they saw it, trust me you will know when you see it. And also you don’t need to look ‘under’ the rocks.
Got a favourite point from me.
The spot it was •in• is full of water but the container was surprisingly dry.

Recent stormy weather have impacted the base of this minor rock climb. There is temporarily some contaminated flood water to avoid and other wading may be needed as tide moves. Take care.

I found the hidey hole, but pretty sure no cache in there. Couldn’t see anything
Took pic for CO!

18-Sep-22
Whoops. I logged as Find, but it’s a DNF. I’m confident I have the hiding place but could see anything in there.
What a great spot.

18-Sep-22
Cache owner is fairly confident that cache is indeed in place ... but as outlined, come prepared with a selection of TOTT’s. You will need to extract this cache from “the depths” and yes, it will most likely be out of sight ...

15-Sep-22
Found during a caching tour of the western suburbs. A nicely hidden container was located after an extended search at GZ, then a trip back to the car for multiple extraction devices to extract the container. Got the clever hide eventually! Thanks for the cache Contact Zero!

13-Sep-22
It's a good one! TFTC

After zig-zagging down from the north, we finally made it to the beach Big Grin!
Found our way down to the sand, only to realise the tide was about to lap at the rocks Surprised, so quickly headed south to GZ.
Found in a unique position Wink.

Thanks for one more Contact Zero.

Found the cache and used some TOTTs from the car to retrieve the cache. I have added a boost and there should no problems in the future. Love the closure camo.

Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun.

Rock of ages cleft for me
Let me hide myself in Thee
Rock of ages, cleft for me
Let me hide myself in Thee

Let the water and the blood
From thy riven side which flowed
Oh, be of sin the double cure
Cleanse me from its guilt and power

Nothing in my hand I bring
Simply to Thy cross I cling
Nothin' in my hand I bring
Simply to Thy cross I cling

Naked, come to Thee for dress (come to Thee for dress)
Helpless, look to Thee for grace
(Oh, look to Thee for grace)
Vile, I to the fountain fly
Wash me, Savior, or I die

Rock of ages (ooh, rock of ages)
Cleft for me (cleft for me)
Let me hide myself in Thee
Rock of ages, cleft for me
Let me hide myself in Thee (in Thee)

Spotted something interesting on arrival. Then found something even more interesting, brought my home made tool made today and went fishing. First cast was a winner.
Excellent cache Contact Zero on a windy wild day. Great for geocaching.

04-Sep-22
Found this one but it’s extremely jammed, need better TOTTs then what we have to get this one out

31-Aug-22
Cheeky spot, one rock looked suspicious. Struggled to get it out but some natural TOTT helped. TFTC
P.s. Logs doing well, like the paper!

28-Aug-22
We arrived at GZ and the search began, didn’t take to long for the other half to find the well hidden container, then a natural TOTT took a bit to find till the other half found an appropriate one to get the sucker out. A very nicely hidden cache here

Today we headed out to find the few new caches published since been in the USA, a nice drive around exploring the suburbs once again.

Thanks for the cache

25-Aug-22
I had been to have a look for this one previously, so close, but was not confident climbing over the big rocks so today I came back with a helper. I spotted something I had not noticed on my previous visit so allister w was pointed in the right direction and very soon had found the well hidden cache. He did need a TOTT to retrieve the container though. Wink

Log stamped and all replaced as found. Cool

Thanks for the cache Contact Zero a favourite. Smile

Came back today with the required tott and woofing had the cache in hand.

25-Aug-22
Found with JJ52. Great hide. TFTC

23-Aug-22
As it turned out, Mother Nature and changing water levels altered the experience that different finders had. Once at GZ, if you’ve had an easy grab, then that is why. Lucky you! But recent adaptation will ensure that extraction should in most cases require a TOTT. Have fun.

23-Aug-22
TFTC cold and windy today, but determined to get it.geo partner came prepared with tott and biro.no muggles today.

23-Aug-22
After a couple of visits checking out the suitability for mature ladies to climb/scramble over the boulders we finally bit the bullet and found the cache after completing the nearby AL Henley Coastal Mosaics. Previously we had confirmed the location by PAF who confirmed we were sitting on it (which was pretty funny) however we didn't have the correct tools for extraction. Came more prepared this time. TFTC awesome

23-Aug-22
Sounds like it is getting put back in upside down? I just lifted it by its 'handle'.

20-Aug-22
Having already been to GZ before - but at the time I did not have pen on me - finding the cache again was the easy bit. Removing the container was a little harder but with OzGrumpy present at GZ as well we managed to extract the critter.
Nice to find a cache on geocaching day!

Tftc Contact Zero

20-Aug-22
Thanks Contact Zero for this cache and ongoing maintenance. I found the location easily as CoC was there guiding me to the spot, seemingly he had already visited prior, without a writing device. I love the plug, what a super idea, but still the elements have their way, the hole was still moist. I used the phone light to get an idea of what the container might look like, but hard to see, its so bright outside. CoC provided a stick or two, the second was the right shape to extract the item. I did not need to go to the car to get some proper equipment. The cache was moist on the outside, but the inside is dry, the log sheet is in excellent condition, I think you are on a winner here. Cache signed by us both, and returned to the depths and covered as found. Leaving an FP, an ambitious hide that is successful IMO. Well done.

17-Aug-22
@hurtle this is a screenshot of the compass which shows the updated coords.

Not sure why the app doesn't show updated coords

17-Aug-22
?????
Dunno @waldron
I just looked again and the compass does have the corrected, but the waypoints list still has the old...
Maybe another good reason to use a dedicated GPSr and not the phone app? Unless of course you get the coords from the app, like I did, and still got the wrong coords! ??

12-Aug-22
**S34 55.669 E138 29.745**

Easy find... when co-ords are not 14m out! Probably only a 1.5/2, without traversing the 13m of boulders and searching as you go!
Nice hide pity about the DNFs
Addendum.... it seems the app, as of today, still has the old co-ords listed (see screenshot attached)!
TNLNSL
Thanks

Rock on.

05-Aug-22
Following early feedback, it appears my GPS gave me inaccurate coordinates when placing this hide. Sorry folks. An experienced, seasoned campaigner has offered more accurate GZ location. So, I will update with these until I recheck. Cheers

05-Aug-22
DNF today unfortunately. I didn't come prepared with heavy rock moving equipment cameras on poles or explosive devices. I thought that I'm might at least be able to spot something. I did spot what looked like a screw top container and I ventured into a rock crevice. Squatted down and after some difficulty extracted a beer can upside down. Took a fair bit of effort to raise myself out of the tomb. I'm not as strong as I used to be. Suddenly realised the tide was coming in and water was washing up on the rocks. Did a bit of rock hoping and left before I become the Somerton Man. Thanks Contact Zero for the exersize.

Coordinates changed from:
S 34° 55.674 E 138° 29.742

Coordinates changed to:
S 34° 55.666 E 138° 29.745

Distance from original: 50.8 feet or 15.5 meters.

Hi folks. It appears the original coordinates were inaccurate and I have been provided with alternatives that should get you there. Thanks to the collective efforts of ttrogg and Pineapple Goldy, I am able to update these.

05-Aug-22
Keep up the good work CZ.

Thanks for filling up the map with these awesome caches.

03-Aug-22
I was ill equipped for my attempt today. Tide was very high and it was very windy.

03-Aug-22
Had a good look around for the 42 minutes before trying a PAF. With no luck there and the tide advancing and the torch fading decided to head for the next on the list.
Hopefully I'll have more luck next time.
Thanks for the hunt Contact Zero

Needed to head over to the other side of town for some shopping so decided I'd better find some of the new traditionals that have appeared lately.
This one was the fourth of six found. I was heading for the next one, by the same CO, when my PAF produced the desired result. After a quick result at that next one just had to come back for another look. This time, thanks to the PAF, the nicely hidden cache was quickly found. Have a feeling the co-ords weren't that good, but I see that the CO has taken care of that, hopefully future searchers will agree.

A winter's day
In a deep and dark December
I am alone
Gazing from my window to the streets below
On a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow
I am a rock I am an island

I've built walls
A fortress deep and mighty
That none may penetrate
I have no need of friendship friendship causes pains
It's laughter and it's loving I disdain
I am a rock I am an island

Don't talk of love
Well I've heard the word before
It's sleeping in my memory
I won't disturb the slumber of feelings that have died
If I never loved I never would have cried
I am a rock I am an island

I have my books
And my poetry to protect me
I am shielded in my armor
Hiding in my room safe within my womb
I touch no one and no one touches me
I am a rock I am an island

And a rock feels no pain
And an island never cries

Thanks to Contact Zero for putting out this cache for us to find.
