Tftc! The find was a little noisy and the insiders came to check what was going on see what was going on. Nothing special, just normal geocaching practices. That was considered sufficient, so all clear. But the place is indeed worth a good visit!
Matagouri is spending a couple of days in Auckland doing work 'stuff', so I've tagged along for a bit of a caching adventure. Day two and a bit of a drizzly wet one, but I managed to grab a couple of caches before deciding some shopping might be a good option as well. This is a wonderful area to explore. After collecting this one without any issue's, I explored a bit more picking up the 'multi' points as I went. Thanks for setting this up
I was doing some shopping in nearby shops when I noticed this cache in a place I had never been to. What a great surprise. Quickly found the cache and showed some of the staff who weren't aware of it except for one that new about it. Tftc
Fourth find. Let someone borrow my pen (for geocaching) and I think I forgot to retrieve it. Luckily it was an easy location to go buy one, but I didn't realize before I got most of the way up the path.Thank you.
Spending the afternoon in the area while Bapgirl gets her wisdom teeth taken out. I've never been to Highwic before, despite living in Auckland for a good few years. This was a nice easy find, a lovely little cache hidden in plain sight. Thanks for bringing me here, and TFTC!
went on a tour in the house only cost 10 dollars , very interesting and worth while if you are intereedted in the history of tamaki makaurau
Mrs beconaze headed out with Mr Gernita to pass time while Mr beconaze was in surgery nearby. Nice easy find and great way to take the mind off things. Also great to fill in a dot day. Thanks
Half of Gernita was out today with half of Beconaze to use up some time. Spent wandering up Mt Eden and around Newmarket, and of course finding a cache or two.And easy find this one, but a great location, love the history. TFTC!
In Auckland overnight for a work thing and these two caches are literally across the road from my accommodation so of course I had to come over after checking in this evening.Having gathered most of the clues for the multi I set my sights on this one and after getting waylaid (easy to do in the dark) I finally spotted the right hint item and son had the cache in hand, signed and replaced. All good here, and thank you to Pagenz for the placement of your Traditional Cache.
We were in the area popping into Mr Pazzas place of work and this area piqued my interest. We made a quick find here while we enjoyed checking out this magnificent building, garden and the waypoints for the multi. I will come back for another visit and hopefully find the multi. and maybe check out the interior of this house.
Out to find a cache on Leap year 29 Feb. I come past here regularly, and this is my first visit. Lovely quiet place right in the heart of Newmarkt. Thanks for bringing me here Pagenz.
A quick find here this afternoon. The staff were interested to see what the mystery object was - not all of them knew what it was for although they all knew it was there. Signed log, TFTC
Very easy, said high to the staff inside, they were happy to see it being signed. All good here.TFTC
Our last stop in Auckland before we go. Quick find. TFTC. Greetings from Berlin, Germany.
I decided to head out today after work to grab a cache or two. The weather was nice and it was still light.
I headed to GZ and quickly spotted something likely. Nice area for a cache and it is in good condition. I decided to grab the multi afterwards and while checking for a waypoint it, a helpful member of staff pointed this one out to me again! I apparently looked very geocachy today. Thanks the cache, bringing me to this interesting place and the excuse to get some exercise. #1609

Picked this up while here for the multi, lovely old home to visit, but I will bring my parents back for a look see inside, I only visited the outside today. Thanks for hide today.
Got lucky today as the gates were open well before opening time so wandered on in & made a nice quick find at GZ. Sat on the nearby seat in the sun to write on the log. TFTC

Oooh goodies.
Was here a month ago for a wedding and must have walked past the spot numerous times without even clocking there may be one there!

Did a walk through the house and it’s well worth a visit. Such beautiful furniture and so well maintained. THTC!
What a fascinating place, an oasis in the heart of very busy city. Well worth the visit.
Be careful where you park. You can drive through a narrow wooden gate on Latimer Pass right up to the house for free, but if you miss it as we did the expensive multi storey next to it is the only option!
The surrounding area is VERY busy with traffic!

After work today I caught a bus into Newmarket to visit a specialty (hiking) retailer. As I was near Highwic I thought I would take the opportunity to get these two newly placed hides first. I wandered into the grounds an enjoyed the walk through the gardens up to the house. Once near GZ the cache was a quick find thanks to a ery clear hint. Well done on getting permission to place a cache here. I remember visiting Highwic in form one as a school outing. Cheers for the cache placement!
M24: extended our caching streak to 15 days because of this cache, which was a nice and easy find, also a nice place to put a cache too. I was kinda curious if any muggles would come from any direction from retrieving and replacing it, but nope.

TFTC. Actually never been here but work in the area so a nice lunchtime break. Great spot. Easy find. Cheers
Out with Supernannny we had some time to fill in before attending a lunchtime geocaching event, so headed out to check a couple of historic houses. This was the first one of the two we visited today.
At gz, we were about to grab the cache when the door opened and a young lady asked us if we wanted to go inside to check out the shop. Lots of lovely nicknacks in the shop, and we both bought something for the grandchildren.
A cute container, and good to know the shop people are aware of this cache placement.
Thanks for bringing us to this historic house with beautiful spring flowers in the garden today.

Thanks for showing us this interesting place right in between a modern mall and an old lava cave. Auckland is such a fascinating city. It never ceases to amaze me.
Today we (all three greenkiwikids and I) were in the area, did some shopping and naturally checked for Geocaches nearby.
It was pure coincidence that we found this cache and decided to give it a go.
We also visited the heritage home. We liked it very much and can highly recommend a visit.
We also did some more close caches. So all in all it was a very nice day strolling around Auckland and being out and about.
Thanks for bringing us here, nice and easy find as well.

Great caeche and in such a lovely container. Enjoy visiting these old historic properties TFTC
A bit limited for time today between 5 hours of classes plus a tramping club event to go to in the evening. But it was a lovely sunny morning and I had enough time for a walk over to Highwic, a very quick find of the cache, and a walk back to uni in time for my second lecture of the day. I will be back again to explore the grounds and do the multi
Enjoying this series so far! Thank you for another! (#1600)

I think this is my first visit to Highwic House. Our gps had trouble settling initially but once it had we made a nice quick find. Nice container.
Out with Team Welsh doing some Ad Labs and anything else along the way. After visiting Ewelme Cottage it seemed appropriate to vist Highwic. No problems locating the cache. The nice container will stay snug and dry there. TFTC, now for the Highwic multi....
We weren't sure if the grounds would be open here today as the house is closed on Mondays but after a successful visit to the Alberton grounds to get the cache there we decided to give it a try.
We parked nearby and walked to the gates which we found open so we went in and made a nice quick find of the cache. We then walked around and gathered the information for the new multi.
We used to work in Newmarket in a nearby building and really enjoyed coming here at lunchtime to get away from the busy streets. It hasn't changed much since then and is still very peaceful but the new mall has encroached on the view a bit and can now be seen from the grounds whereas the old one couldn't. But it's still really lovely here and we enjoyed reminiscing about the old days.
When it came time to leave we found the gates had been locked, so we assume they may have been opened briefly by a staff member and our arrival was just good timing.
We had no way of opening the gates so had to climb the wall which fortunately had a section that was reasonably low.
We considered heading on to Ewelme but saw that the opening hours for that were only Sundays so we decided not to risk it. Although it would be a shame if the cache there was only accessible once a week so hopefully that's not the case.
In any case we are so pleased that these new caches have been placed in these historic locations and will definitely be back to look inside Alberton and Highwic sometime soon and will also plan a visit to Ewelme.
Thanks Pagenz for the trip back in time.

I was in Newmarket to go Bowling and thought it would be rude not to grab this new cache as well. Didn't have time for the Multi. Nice quick find exactly where it was supposed to be. TFTC
Out and about with Mr and Mrs KC today for some caching in the sun. No one around today and the find was nice and straight forward. Love the cache container. Thanks
After the FTF on the multi, I popped into the shop to collect the traditional and have a nosey through the gift shop. Had a very pleasant chat with the two workers there who knew about the geocache. Couldn’t resist buying some of the handmade apricot jam and locally made honey (do you “make” honey?!? Anyway…) and then had a nice complimentary guided tour of the fernery and flower gardens from one of the team! All in all a very enjoyable and productive trip out! Thanks for the tinpot cache!
Was at the writers festival in town when I saw this cache published. Didn’t think I could get here first but it’s a beautiful day so thought it would be nice to step out. I caught the bus from town so surprised to see the blank log. Only my second ftf so I am happy about that. Thoroughly recommend the writers festival and a wander through Highwic. Tftc
