After a morning CITO, FFLL ladies and I headed up the highway to do some Goulburn caching as there were alot more unclaimed smilies to collect. Time to knock off a few more of the elementary themed caches. Thanks for the cache placement by my_name_jeff_1 and thanks to the FFLL ladies for another fun day out and about
Found with barnzy, Leg5, Lachlan1.77 after this mornings CITO.After an early morning start for a CITO nearby I offered my ladder and pole to the WAC boys from the west, on condition I could tag along. They had a number of high D/T caches they had planned to get and just needed some TOTTs to reach them.A fun morning of caches with these lads.TFTC my name jeff 1Keep smiling

Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. We rolled into Goulburn at sparrows fart this morning for a CITO. We met with Jolly0, who had the equipment required to complete some fishing and ladder caches. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers my_name_jeff_1! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!
The Cockburn Crew are on tour at the Capital Geobash in Canberra - travelling from Perth to Sydney, Canberra, Sydney and finally back to Perth.Today was day 6. We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. Logs signed as part of team WA/WAC (WA Crew)
Unable to spot this one. There is lots going on in this tree with the mess of shedding bark. Difficult one.
On our way home from the Mega in Canberra and my son wanted to do a spot of fishing on the way home. We pulled into Goulburn for a snack and decided to test our skills while we were there. My son demanded that he do this one, and in not too much time, he had retrieved the cache. With the log signed, he was able to return it to its hiding place as well.TFTC and the afternoon adventure.
Another trip down the highway, this time heading back to Canberra. We decided to detour into Goulburn for some petrol and ice cream and to find just a couple of caches. After a short search around a tree that had lots of dropping bark, we found a well camouflaged Hide and soon had the retrieval organised. Log signed and then back up again. Thanks my_name_jeff_1Domsky
Out and about finding some tree fish caches in Goulburn after visiting the Chill @ Grill event in Bungonia. This was a quick find, and really low. A cool cache could be erected at the ladder nearby?Had fun with an apple tree. TFTC!
Compared to the other D4 nearby, this one was very low. An easy retrieve and return. TFTC!
This was my first chance to use the squid pole that phlphotos gave me as a gift. Not easy to set up, but got to the cache and returned it. Need to practise using it! Have a fave point.
Mr Minion and I are spending a few days in Goulburn finding caches, we are really enjoying the town and the variety of the hides. A nice easy quick one. Thanks for the cache tnln replaced as found sl
In might be a bit light-on and inert, however, it took us a few minutes to find the cache as GPS could not fix on GZ. TFTC
A fun day targeting a handful of elements and gases. Quick find, retrieve and return. TFTC my_name_jeff_1.
Itd been a while since wed been to Goulburn, so a days caching with steeba and Hoojar was mapped out.Armed with our TOTT we picked up a good handful caches in the area. Thanks to the COs for placing the caches.TFTC
Headed down Goulburn way with The Rats and Hoojar to tackle mainly Periodic table series caches- plenty of interesting places and hides, with some TOTTs required. A good day out all around.TFTC!

Today we’re caching around Goulburn. We have grabbed the odd roadside rest-cache here in previous stops, but have never spent any time caching the area.
We’re chasing some DTs we need today, and of course anything that appears at our bow, plus the essential trig points.
This was pretty quick compared to hydrogen!
Thanks for the cache!

Day 3/4 of our Mittagong/Goulburn Trip.
Today we targeted lots of good DT’s around the Goulburn/Brayton area, while also grabbing letterboxes and other cool cache types in between. We found some great caches in some amazing areas.
Quickish find here, very low compared to the nearby one! SL TNLN

5/6/23 - When I heard that there was a CITO on in Goulburn, I knew I could go but would my car make it? I am having car problems. However, waking up this morning, I decided before the rain coming later this week, I would go out and find some caches and attend the CITO, today. This is one of the caches I DNF or found and added to today's Geocaching adventure. I had a bad start with six caches becoming a DNF or a NA due to muggles. Once on the next second half of the day I started to actually find caches. I ended up with 23 finds for the day. Also, before you ask, yes my car did get me home. TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO's of the caches I found today and for allowing them to bring the Geocaching community enjoyment. TFTE & TFTC's Thankfully, I had a past finder with me who knew approximately where it was and had the right TOTT to find it. A quickish find at GZ and unlike the last one, it was a quick retrieval, sign and replace. Thanks for another fishing pole cache, my_name_jeff_1 and to Fitzy_1965 for the use of the TOTT.
To early to go home so spend some more time caching in and around Goulburn this morning before driving home after lunch

This cache: Took some getting to when we went the wrong way. But all good in the end. Tftc!!!

This periodic table series is the closest to science that I get, so picked up some more today with goingplaces2. No problem here and reached the cache successfully with the TOTT. Signed and replaced the log. TFTC.
Chooo ooo [Found] with dty73 and Joolay and Kittykatch ! - Nice find here! Thanks my_name_jeff_1!
Found on today's venture to Goulburn for the next round of GGGT events. I need to come back for the Hydrogen cache at the start of this pathway as it appears I didn't look hard enough (ie. others cachers found it today). Nonetheless, a lovely walk in the park and a very quick retrieval at GZ. TFTC!
Another trip to Goulburn to attend a CITO and event. This time I travelled with Joolay, Tankengine and dty73 which was lots of fun. We headed to a couple of these higher d/t caches as we had the tools to get the cache. TE and Joolay dropped down the bank to make the find whie dty and I kept our dodgy knees safe and yelled encouragement. We sould have come up the path - it would have been easier to access gz. Another cool, chemical find. Thanks for hiding this cache my_name_jeff_1
Nice to be back in the area. Bit cooler today but no rain. Decided to collect a few before the CITO and event and managed to find this quite easily.

Being back in Goulburn together with ilook4geo meant we were able to pick up a few more of the caches from the periodic table. This was one of our targets. There was no problem in spotting and retrieving this one and signing both names either in full form or in initials. It was then replaced as required. Thanks to my_name_jeff_i for placing this cache.
Logging a late find on this one, must have missed the logging on the day. I came in via the old train track, it would have been easier if I had used the walking track, thanks.

Joined the **MCO** expedition with **Purplepeopleater**, **bella at waggy**, **Baktrak**, **Team Merlin**, **TARDIS 0061** and **Asbestiform**. After a hearty breakfast in Mittagong, we headed off under threatening skies and cleared out our targets in that area.
Then off to Goulburn to cherry pick our way through the periodic table.
By the end of the day, the tally was around 50 finds after venturing further down the Hume to Goulburn and surrounds.

What goes up must come down, for the MCO crew. Being Helium, it went back up. Thanks my_name_jeff_1.
Joined the grumpy expedition into the southern lands for the day. Inspired by the new movie "A Man Called Otto" our group including teamMerlin, Baktrak, Purplepeopleater, bella at waggy, crash2079, TARDIS 0061 and asbestiform with all physical caches signed under the name MCO. With the cache in hand, we signed the log then replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for the cache my_name_jeff_1.
The following TBs came through for the mileage : Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Mary Hyde's Treasure, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust), Vanlith The Youngling, Hidden Creatures Geocoin TB, teamMerlin's Football, Merlin's Steed

What started out as a twinkle in my and bella at waggy's eye for a southern highlands incursion earlier in the week for some periodic table cheery picking, turned into a full scale grumpy expedition. Inspired by the newly released "A Man Called Otto" (which is an American interpretation of the fabulous "A Man called Ove") and the "apparent" similarities to several of our group's demeanor and appearance, the expedition was officially deemed the "Man Called Otto" expedition (OMC) and comprised: myself, Baktrak, Crash2079, Tardis0061, teamMerlin, Asbestiform and bella at waggy.
A welcome easy find after our epic at Hydrogen.

Wonderful expedition to the Southern Highlands and flat bits between Mittagong, , Marulan and Goulburn with the "Men called Otto": Baktrak, bella at waggy, Crash2079, Purplepeopleater, Tardis0061, teamMerlin and me. Logs signed MCO. Various cache selections typically with uncommon DT ratings, squid fishing and climbing along with a few longer walks. Weather held off. Thanks to all COs for your efforts.
PPE and myself had been talking about some select targets on a southern day run. We decided to not be too antisocial and moved the day around to suit a few others which came in handy at one of the other caches. The group consisted of PPE, Crash, Baktrak, teamMerlin, Tardis 0061, Asbestiform and yours truly. Targets included puzzles, poles, ladders and some not so common DTs and high D or Ts plus a few others en route.
Logs were signed as MCO as what became known as a Man Called Otto expenditure after the recent movie release and some grumpy kidding around. We completed the signing duties and re hid.

Found this as a group of 7 out on a day of caching. Signed as MCO. Thanks to all the cache owners who we discover their caches to day. A most enjoyable day thanks guys. Cheers
We were looking too high at first. This one’s a treat to retrieve after the last one.
Thank you.
Thank you.
What a great day mostly with thanks to GLISS! and Nibletricecakes for organising three events and a CITO that guided us around a fantastic loop of caching activities.
I was travelling with Albida33 and Sol de Lune so thank you also to them and all the other geocachers who attended, some of whom came from as far away as Sydney.
We were incredibly lucky with the weather and all caches we went for were found in good condition. They were signed and replaced.
Big thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining the caches that add to our enjoyment of our game.

Out with Albida33, Smittengranny and a whole list of other caches to attend the 4 events around the area today. After Crookwell, it was time to head towards Goulburn, collecting caches as we went.
This one took a bit of time to spy and then another few minutes to get to the log. However, patience is a virtue (apparently) and in the end all was good and our names were in the log.
Many thanks for the cache and the series my name is jeff.....

After a long day yesterday, I turned around and joined up with Sol de Lune and Smitten Granny for the loop out to Ginning, Crookwell & Goulburn for the four events on offer. In between we tacked some of the caches in the region and a few new ones in Goulburn. It was a great day seeing many different people along the way and a great team with on going discussions about plans in the car all day.
This series of periodic table caches has been a great way to discover the region and make some great cache finds. The Gas elements add an extra challenge to these caches. I was happy to have help spotting it today.

Quick and easy one here after the tougher one nearby! Was pretty disappointed the cache wasn't hidden at the top of the abandoned railway structure though, a very cool and sturdy ladder. I climbed up it anyway just for fun!
Thanks

I spent ages here looking for the cache, but not spotting it. Eventually I found it in the shade and lower than expected. Glad I got there in the end.

An evening visit to Goulburn for tonight's events with AngelG27. Already dark by the time we arrived for the CITO so I was glad I brought my torch. 6 attendees wandered along the new path and back collecting rubbish and a couple of trads along the way. FurfacessLL made short work of the retrieval and replacement of this cache. Now back to the cars and onto the next event. TFTC

Last minute decision to head down to Goulburn this evening for the two events as one of the team members was feeling a little under the weather. But tested and not anything too sinister was found so off we went.
While at the CITO we headed out with TikvaNZ and AngelG27 to collect some caches along our CITO wander. Both having T'sOTT in the car we were prepared to search and fish.
Cache was a little easier at this one so FFLL#2 did the honours and AngelG27 did the chicken scratchings.
Thanks for the fun team and for the hide my_name_jeff_1

Headed to Goulburn with TikvaNZ after work to attend a couple of events. We managed to grab a couple of other caches while we were there, happily!
This was one of them. By good planning, both TikvaNZ and FurfacesLL both had some TOTTs with them to make the retrieval of this cache possible. It was an easy reach compared to the last one. Tricky to spot in the fast falling dusk!
