Was in the area for the inaugural event on a bus so decided to explore a little first. I actually attended AUT a while ago so it was a strange feeling to be back. I got dusty knees getting to this one but it was worth it. Thanks for the cache.
Geoboy made the quick scramble under for a quick find. Quiet on a Sunday morning here. Tftc
Up in Auckland geocaching today. Ive found that Saturday is a good time for urban caches and today was no exception. I imagine that this cache would be very tricky during the week but there were no muggles around today. TFTC
I tried looking for this earlier in the morning when I was interrupted by a helpful person heading to the same event. Revisited at lunch time as I was only some 50m away, but the prospect of crawling around dressed up for the conference did not quite appeal to me, although typically I am in for such things. Maybe next time?
I wasnt willing to crawl around under the stairs but luke was braver than me and he found it tftc
I'm now back in NZ, having spent the last couple of months in Europe, and today I'm traveling to pick up my car that friends have been looking after in my absence. This means experiencing the wonder that is the Auckland Transit public transport system. But seeing as I have all day to get to them, and it's a beautiful winter's day with blue skies and a reasonable temperature I figured that I'd have a good wander around Auckland CBD, which is a rare thing for me so there are a good number of caches for me to find. This was perhaps my trickiest cache find today. Such a public place with so many people walking around coming from different directions. But patience payed off and I was able to make the find and replace it after signing the log. Thanks for setting this one up.
Totally forgot I had claimed this one a month or so back whilst walking back to the office post a comedy fest gig. Rectifying that now
Travelling from Darwin, Australia for a work conference which is being hosted at AUT's rival - University of Auckland (which is home to this caches sister: GCA62WH - also hidden by the crafty and clever Ribeana ). I've just spent way too long wandering around the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tmaki, where I also picked up "Fossil my Art in Auckland Gallery" (GCAG6YX) EarthCache by tramyard Wanted to nab my 200th cache before lunch! I have a question to the CO: which one of the two University caches is your favourite (and why)? I'll say this much...AUT's cache is the reason why one must always have a packet of wet-wipes handy! I was fortunate that there was no-one around me to see me do the deed due to it being a Sunday morning. Container & log we're all in order. Also timed it well, inbetween showers Will give you a FP for the mental stimulation you've provided this morning
TFTCI was just about to give up, then gave it one more go, then BAM! Gotcha. Thanks for taking me about the city. From Aus.
The coordinates are very wobbly around here so it was hard to fix it to somewhere specific. In the end the hint and previous pictures gave us a good idea of where it was. Quickly nipped in to retrieve it between the muggles. All good here. TFTC
Found with Gummi_Venus. We were curious about the unusual DT combination on an urban cache. Arrived at GZ and we knew just what to do. Found it in no time with GV keeping lookout.

Muggle buddies: Mr.Hubby & in-LawsMy Muggle buddies and I are visiting Auckland for the Easter break.Whizzing around town on an eScooter, this cache resulted in dusty knees and a happy cacher! Thank you Ribeana, for creating, placing and maintaining this cache. I have enjoyed finding it and visiting this spot.Follow my story on Instagram @AlphaDeltaIndigo
Spent the day in town, and took advantage of the quiet Easter weekend to nab some high-traffic caches that would be near impossible to get during the weekday or other weekends. The cache seemed to be in a logical spot, but did require getting on all fours, so I was glad I was wearing shorts, as my lower legs got very dusty! Ngaa mihi, TFTC
During our two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia, we travel today from Waitomo to Auckland. Before we leave we visited a glowworm cave in Waitomo. When we arrived in Auckland we made a cache tour through the city. This cache was found during the tour.**Ribeana**, thanks for the cache.
We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Signapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. Yesterday we drove from Rotorua to Waitomo. This morning we naturally visited a beautiful glow worm cave. Thereafter we started our drive to Auckland were we will spent the comming night. Not a long drive so we have plenty of time for some sightseeing in Auckland. On our way back to the hotel this cache was visited as last cache of this day. We dove under the stairs and the cache was found rapidly. Thank you very much for this cache.
T rating may be correct. Can't do it with my knee and lots of security nearby. Shame. Looking around lots of better hiding spots are around which could still be as challenging. Oh well, sometimes you have to do a did not attempt
Nice hide. We also acknowledge the traditional custodians of New Zealand / Aoteroa, as we geocache throughout their land while on holiday. Thanks for showing us this place, & for placing and maintaining this cache. The is our playground
Found with Blue Jay on a walk around the lovely city.We eventually found the right corner after rereading the hint.TFTC. Toffee Man.
Visiting from Nova Scotia Canada, cruising on HAL Volendam around New Zealand. Am so enjoying the scenery, TFTC
I found it... but now I'm stuck hiding at Ground Zero as I have a security guard about 5 feet away and I'm not sure I can be bothered explaining the life to muggles
Its maintenance day, which means walking around town and its surrounds checking on all my caches! Im barefoot, with a hat over my headphones so my head doesnt get burnt #alopecia! (See photo!) I am armed with many different sized containers, logs and baggies to keep my caches in prime shape! Cache was still there, and not buried which made it an easy find! Ive added some paper, and put it back in its spot, under the top layer of rocks! Happy Caching!
This took some time, I think the terrain rating should be increased for crawling and digging. Thanks!
It has been brought to my attention this cache has been buried and no longer just under a light cover of rocks as per original hide. This will need to be checked by CO and reset.
No one around at the time of day I was there. Tried to be as stealthy as possible. Took me a while to find it. First, geocache in New Zealand!
Mostly my self-consciousness and patience stopping me from finding the cache. It's summer break so no students but still get the odd staff member passing by every minute while I'm crouched under the stairs clawing at pebbles.I reckon the way to find this if you feel weird is as a group. No one questions odd group behaviour on campus, plus if you're a student it's the perfect time to embrace this sort of thing haha!
The other one of us has back issues so it was obvious I had to go for digging it. Tftc!
I was heading back to the hotel and looking for a final cache before muggle and me went of to Waiheke. This one was difficult for me. Problem was that I would never would have chosen such a hiding place and delayed searching this particular area. As always best practice is not think too much and follow the hint. I would have been successful much faster. And the container was exactly at the position decribed by the hint.Thx for hiding.
Waited super long for the muggles to leave but they stuck around so we went for the kill. TFTC!
it took me a little bit because my phone was really off, thanks for the hint.last one in auckland, tomorrow the roadtrip will beginn.nzl is my dreamcountry and i'll spend 34 days here. happy!
Dieser Cache konnte heute erfolgreich geloggt werden.Danke an den owner fr's legen und pflegen TFTC Schmerzbefreit
We made an attempt to look for this one a few months ago but there were some council workers hanging around so we gave up.Today we were in the area so decided to give it another try and were pleased to find the area mostly deserted with just the occasional muggle wandering past. Mr Coblet headed to GZ which in retrospect was probably not the best choice as he is the taller of the two of us but once he started he was committed and continued into the hobbits lair.Fortunately it was a quick find and he managed to sign the log, re-hide the cache and return to the footpath without bumping his head.We imagine this one would be very tricky at a busy time of day as searching would look quite dodgy, so our timing was perfect. Thanks Ribeana, it's great to turn this one into a smiley.
I'm up in Auckland overnight for a client function so of course I had to get some caching done. This morning it was targeting the new caches east of Queen Street, starting with the ATC at AUT and then moving down to the waterfront.I had started looking in the wrong garden before reading the logs and realising I was in the wrong place. At least it was pebbles and not gravel (no pointy bits). Cache quickly found. All good here and TFTC.Find #6155
We found this cache in Auckland at Port #1 of our New Zealand Cruise Tour. Triple challenge of getting way down there, getting under and not getting wet. Surprisingly managed to achieve all three whilst getting this cache. Thanks from D & HA B-A
Easily found thanks to the hint. More suitable for hobbits than tall people or anyone with creaky bones! Tftc
Its definitely not the most discreet place to look for a cache. Thats my second visit, last time there were a couple of girls sitting in the nearby bench. Today was ok with a lot less people around but it still took me a good 5 minutes to find an opportunity to go and look at gz. Signed and rehid the cache after another 5 minutes. TFTC
Not my finest moment of stealthas two people walked across out of nowhere as I emerged from the graband asked me if I was ok after bonking my headoh well, I guess I got itTFTC
Visiting from Arizona having a fun time exploring the area and stopped for this along the way. Thanks for adding to our day. S/L M&D
Well to begin with this was a mission to even get close to with roads closed due to roadworks and one way streets. We got to gz.Glad for a weekend day as would not have wanted to be searching with people around. Very hard to be discreet when having to crawl around on the ground under a set of stairs. We have found some of the Sydney cache series! In Auckland for the long weekend from Hawkes bay.Thank you Ribeana for placing this cache.Log signed as B&PFind number 4843
Found while out and about on a sunny Saturday. Luckily not too many muggles about. TFTC!
Unfortunately we couldn't find it although we found some good spots to hide something. But the architecture is interesting anyway!
Second find today. I tried every corner and initially failed to find the cache. I did feel a tad awkward here. I read some logs and had a more targeted cache, but where I suspected it was meant to be. This time I found it, and I didn't find it before, as it wasn't in the corner. It is now though. Cache and log are okay. TFTC Ribeana.
My first successful cache! Had to get a little dirty and looked a bit sus but worth it
Hands and knees is not an option when.....I'm currently only able to use my right handIm in a good dress There is a giant...probably muggle....turd!! in that corner Lots of student muggles around Too many variables today lolCool spot though will definitely go back another time
#40161, 2023-10-05 at 21:59, Thanks for the cache Auckland Tourist Caches! - AUT and the owner Ribeana.Found during our 2 weeks in New Zealand trip.
My first find in New Zealand (after about 3 DNFs). Someone complained he could not find it and it might be illegally placed... I can only say and fitting to the place: "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her (him)." I was able to find it in all humility.

GPS all over the place, tried to follow the hint but not sure I got it right. Lots of passing muggles and there are probably security cameras.
Put off by the last part of the hint, I hope it isn't literally as described as no cache should be "ohevrq."

After attending a geocaching event in Aotea square, we rode our bikes towards AUT to find this cache. We initially overshot the mark, and had to head back down the hill to gz where we saw a couple of familiar faces looking at their phones and heading towards gz. While parking our bikes, Flossieteacake crawled under the staircase and had the cache in hand in no time. MrsJAG joined her and was glad to be wearing her cycle helmet - after signing the log, we replaced the cache as found. TFTC
After the group find in the library we headed this way to find one more cache before heading back to the car. As we approached a voice called out "over here!", so along with Jag50 we had a look for the staircase. I spotted something interesting so ducked under, found the cache and then called Jag50 in to join me.
Log signed and cache replaced. Glad it was Saturday morning and nobody was about because we really would have caught somebody's attention here.

When this one says under the stairs, it means under the stairs!! After a quick search around I knew where I needed to be and soon had CIH. TFTC!
