Quick and easy find.
Found the easy way in.
The local hopping residents were watching to make sure I got in and back out to the car safely.

A day trip to this area so I made the most of my time finding a few caches. A quick find here
but returning to my car I was greeted by a lass in uniform. Apparently some local break ins have
the neighbours spooked by any unfamiliar parked cars. Quick spot check of my details and all
was good. TFTC

Damp log but writeable on. Felt a bit eerie as I remember clearly the sad events 30 years ago. Thanks foxbat.
It was quite full of water, we emptied as much as we could. The log was pretty damp. TFTC
Mogni was in town for work...again. So I picked her up and we headed off for some caching in the hills. We called in and collected Aussie Mary who became official driver!
There is an airstrip marked on my GPSr here. But why would someone want to land here and with all the bushes and slopes, why would you try? I settled for finding the cache. Thanks foxbat

Touring Australia having left Perth in late February we are leisurely touring South Australia.
We were supposed to move along today but after a full on day yesterday in the Barossa we had not managed to pack camp! So today was a designated packing day! [xx(]
But of course no day can pass without finding a cache to continue our geostreak. After a chat last night we decided to study South Australia's A-Z, 0-9 geocaching challenge and see what we needed to still find to qualify!
Well we needed 'X' only and as luck would have it there was one only 22km away! We awoke to drizzle which got heavier as the day carried on. Mr Felix was game so after lunch off we set on our drive. What amazing views as you head out of Gawler, thankfully we got to see them as we ascended as after finding the cache on our return we were in the clouds and could barely see the road.
Whilst Mr Felix walked off to 'X' Mrs Felix drove closer to this cache and walked the 50m each way in the rain to claim our smilie for this cache too!
But of course pouring rain or not, who can stop at just 1 cache! So we managed to pick off a few others in this very scenic territory before returning to pack up the van to move on tomorrow.

It was kinda dark & a little bit stormy when we went for a drive in the hills this afternoon.
A short search amongst the bones & the cache was found.
Didn't realise it was 'that spot' until I was home at my computer.
I Read a book that one of the detectives wrote about the investigation.
That's one hell of scary story.
BOO! the haunted TB visited.

Geohubby and I had arrived at this lovely spot trying for a nearby FTF.....managed 2nd to find
This cache was very close to where the car was parked so we couldn't walk back without giving it a go. The co-ords were spot on and there was a very obvious geotrail so the cache was found in a couple of seconds. A fascinating history to this location. We both remember very clearly when Richard Kelvin originally went missing. Always felt very sorry for his father Rob Kelvin having to deal with all the tragedy while so prominent as a newsreader on SA television.
Many thanks for bringing us here foxbat and for the history lesson [^]

Unfortunately this looks like it had been thrown into the bushes & it was rather hard to dig out - not good given that the location is known for snakes...
Kind of a creepy location - felt rather uncomfortable & disrespectful visiting here.

After receiving a phone call from The Sewer Rats asking if i wanted to go caching i was quick to get ready and head out, we picked up earthlight on the way and we spent the day with Deb taking her to some caches we have done and she was able to help us out with a couple that had eluded us, it was a fantastic day with a nice drive through the hills and i even managed to place a couple of caches, one star terrain rating ? do they make a 4wd bush bashing wheelchair lol, we were told the story about the area and its secret, i remember this when it happened and now i visit the site, a bit of a weird feeling. TFTC
Previously found this cache so only took trackables to9 visit whilst caching with 3LG and SA Sewer Rats.
Great views today.

Parked car and nutted about in the bush. A small track will lead to this if you scout enough.
Took awhile to find this, but worth it. Had to "reach" down to get it.
SL, TNLN. Sad story about the guy found here.
Great views though.

Tried to find at night to enhance the spookiness but the compass pointed behind a locked gate
Found some scattered bones nearby which is a bit ominous after reading the clue! Despite this a beautiful location, love the blackboys!

Such a nice day for a drive and to get out of the city. Didn't know about the background story for this cache until we got home, very sad indeed. TNLNSL TFTC
Spent the day with my son in Gawler. He wanted to have an early day so dropped him home and thought I'd look around for an oldish caches. 2001 ones weren't convenient so pulled up hides from 2002 and saw this one is kind of on the way home. Nice drive out here on an overcast but warm day.
Parked on side of road and compass on iPhone was pointing all over the place so moved off in general direction I thought it would be. Ended up coming in a more difficult way than was necessary - as is usual for me.
Once I got to GZ the find was pretty easy.
I knew someone who was a witness at the trial of the guy who was convicted of said murder.

We thought we would take advantage of the cooler weather and do some caches today Interesting history and got a bit spooked to see the bones at gz TFTC
Well it wasn't a dark and stormy night, but how does a overcast rainy arvo sound?
There are even bones at GZ creepy or what?
Thanks for the cache foxbat

We found the cache easily enough. The story that goes with it was not a nice one. This is one terrible tragedy that should be remembered with the utmost respect. Richard Kelvin was a victim of a true monster. I hope he is resting in peace. Unfortunately his family and friends are probably not.
Came here to find the cache. Geomum is old enough to remember the terrible story of this area. Disturbing. Rest in Peace Richard Kelvin. TFTC
Dodging showers, I managed to get the geomonkeys out for a quick run to the cache.
Big geokid, after dodging "kangaroo poo", couldn't get over the "Dinosaur bones" at GZ.
I literally fell @$$ backwards over the cache!
I was trying to pry back the bushes for big geokid to do the retrieve, whilst holding a terrified little geokid, and fell back into the bush, on my butt!
It was actually quite a comfy spot to sit and sign the log
Tiny geokid loved the magpies "birdeess" but did NOT want to be put down in the immediate GZ area.
After brief discussions with the geohubby tonight, who thought Kelvin's body was recovered near the Torrens river, he proceeded to google the info.
Ignorance is bliss.
So many emotions.
SO many emotions.
Feeling quite sick to be part of the "human" race right about now.
Ironic that this horrible #%^*+'s hometown was Paradise, SA

But some things are better left unsaid.
Hmmmmm......
Life huh :0/
Enjoy it while you can <3
KK
P.S. What ARE the bones at GZ from? Just out of curiosity
REST IN PEACE RICHARD X

Realising the sad history of this area made the cache location seem particularly eerie...a quick find and glad to move quickly out of the area! Collected TB, left smiley; TFTC
Easily found, even without realising the significance of the bones until after the find! The property owner across the road took an interest in the cars parked in the area near the access gate. Took nothing, left a skeleton, thought it was appropriate TFTC foxbat!
It's a lovely part of the world around here, although the spooky history of this place does give me the shivers. Especially with those bones pointing the way!! Great cache. Thanks foxbat
One to pick-up on the way home from a mates place. A nice country drive-by, if you can forget the history.

The bones show the way, Years ago before all the fences and gates you could drive the tracks in the scrub, Some very steep rough tracks around here but now one has to walk. TNLNSL
Decoded the hint after finding this one. I'm kinda glad I didn't know at the time what ghoulish history this spot had - would have been extra cautious. TFTC Foxbat.
This cache now has a new container and goodies. Mind the bones, they are still there.
I will need to check on this one, I will reinstate it if it has gone as it seems a popular one.
Had a good look around with 2 other caching teams with no success, with no finders in 9 months have to wonder if it is still there??
Found where it should of been seen the bones found a bush with bones but no cache? Maybe it is no longer there as there has been a previous did not find?
Cache number 6 on our epic geo-caching day out.
Searching around GZ for close on our hour with no results.
Very frustrating - perhaps cache has been tampered with - or maybe we just didn't have are eyes peeled enough.
Will try again another day.

As we where coming from Pretty as a picture the hills where a little daunting in our under powered Corolla! Spooky spot and my wife knows the history of this crime well. It was a little disturbing for her as she approached the GZ and saw the bones so I was tasked with cache retrieval, quick find, TNLNSL - TFTC.
This was the last find on the way to the Night Caching event with Team Waldron. A nice walk in the forest and we disturbed more than one kangaroo having a nap. After a little looking around Team Waldron came up with the goods. TFTC

Apparently a Sad History for the Spot, Very Pretty countryside, glad I was with CPWanderer.
Found on a wet day, resulting in a low muggle presence. Took TB, left Brasil key ring. TFTC.
PS: I see some people are a bit upset that this cache is close to where a body was found, and suggest that the cache should not be here. If that is the case, then most caches will have to be moved, as I am sure nearly every road in the country has had a death on it, violent or otherwise. That's all I have to say about that.

I'm glad that I didn't do this one at night after reading the history. There seemed to be something a little bit unsettling about the area with those thoughts in my mind.
Easy find with team scoobster.
Although Geowife found this very disturbing (mostly because she worked on this case).. I came to the conclusion that it was a Good cache to place... it makes us NEVER FORGET the evils out there!..Maybe doing this cache reminds us to be a little more wary!

mmmmm This is one of those "learn your lesson' caches... Rather than just looking up on the map and seeing 'there's a cache here". and then go to it.. It really teaches you to READ what the cache is about.!
Only when I got here did I fully realize where i was, and what had happened nearby... Made even more gruesome by the placement of the bones
After a wonderful day of caching, this was our last... and it brought back some really unpleasant memories!
Sorry but there is something really wrong about this cache being here.

Hmmm...if we'd known this cache was placed where a body had been dumped, we probably wouldn't have found it. Incidentally, that took a while to happen. Coords were spot on, though. But it's kinda wrong. TFTC anyway.
