I decided to come here after work to find this cache. I love how eco-conscious this place is, and even allows you to bring your dogs inside! With that in mind, this is probably my favourite local shopping centre. I had to revisit GZ a couple of times - like other comments, my numbers were not adding up. Then I re-read the instructions. I quickly made my way to find. What a beautiful area. Makes me wish I had moved nearby. TFTC and the history lesson Doc. A FP from me.

Well this was fun! Information was gathered exactly as directed.except I didnt read the instructions carefully enough! Coordinates I worked out were about 1km away and I knew that was wrong from reading the cache page. Where did I go wrong? Eventually I PAFed , realised I had the right numbers, but in the wrong order! Searching for the cache lead us to a beautiful location hidden away within sight. Loved the container as well! Certainly a favourite point here! Thanks for more fun Mister Doctor!

We've only just touched down in Melbourne and after a couple of hours sleep, have ventured out to explore. We aren't staying far away and had been recommended this CO by wombat wandering from back home. Since we needed supplies, this seemed to kill two birds with one stone. More than just a little excited to discover that you still have Woolworths here (although very different to the ones we used to have before they all closed about 20 years ago - ours were household supplies shops and where every teen would go to look for cheap records in the bargain bin when vinyl was the only option, not a cool retro thing!). After our shop we wandered to GZ. Hmm! Ah! Ooh! What a glorious discovery...a gem of a place and a brilliant container. A FP from the UK!

After a message from Raphbrad stopped by for some repairs. All good again Smile

A simple and clever multi that I really enjoyed. Randomly popped in here after collecting some items from the nearby Anaconda, and needed a bite to eat.

I have never been to this part of the brickworks despite coming here for shopping many times before

Mister Doctors caches are always a treat, and this was no exception.Easy to determine the final coordinates but I made very hard work of the final find until I stepped back and thought more about the hint.Great construction as always. TFTC.

This was super fun. Was walking around and then was like…wait…wait what it it’s!?!? The BEST!!!

24-Aug-23
Out on my own today as it was to good a day to stay home. I have been wanting to check this location for a while as I remember this space as the real brickworks. Easy clues to pick up and looking around GZ could not work it out. Referred to the hint and then the penny dropped. Asked a worker its access and was given wrong info. Asked another and they were very helpful. What a surprise is an understatement to what I found. Amazing what they have here. Easy find and a quick retrieval. I am very impressed with the whole estate. Thanks so much bringing me here Mr Dr. Its gets a fav from me

I remember the brickworks here. I lived nearby when I was a child. A very interesting history. tftc

On my visit yesterday I missed the obvious and registered a DNF .. today after having an aha moment on the way home yesterday I knew where I should look but not what I should look for. Almost missed the perfectly themed cache that snuggled into its environment. Thanks Minster Doctor and Burwood Brickworks for the cache

07-Jun-23
Tried to find this one after collecting my nemesis cache not too far away. I enjoyed the first stage .. a very interesting piece of local history. I found the information required for the final but wasn’t able to find the cache .. but did manage to get sushi for lunch so the visit wasn’t wasted. Thanks Mister Doctor.. #edit .. as I drove home I just worked out where I should have checked .. I really need to be more observant. I will be back

03-Jun-23
Ahhhh I feel like I’m soo close but have been walking in circles for too long. Shall have to return when it is a bit less crowded. The coordinates we easy to figure out but I am too directionally challenged to find them on this occasion. Will be back soon to find!

Find number 12045 at 11:26:27 am on Monday the 22 May 2023
Out most of the day doing chores and stuff and grabbong the odd geocache as well.
Decoded the clues quicker than it took me to find the access route to the final prize. Ah, but what a prize it was Smile
Loved the theme at the GZ as well, should be more of it!
Grumpy has become detached from the base plate but is otherwise in good nick.
**Thanks for placing this cache Mister Doctor**

I needed a multi to fill a day on my multi calendar today and the on and off showers made sure this was the one close to home. Only 5 to go now to fill that calendar.
We come here occasionally to the Mexican restaurant which I am not at all affiliated with, but I can recommend the twinchiladas with prawns. Really nice sauce....
Anyway after the clue gathering I then read the hint and realised where I needed to go. It was totally deserted here today so a nice quick find was made in cold. Although a little tricky in the cold with freezing cold hands and due to horror.fan.jm's strong fingers closing it last time. I toughed it out and made it open ok without having to get any tools to open it.
Now that is a lot of trouble to go to to make a themed cache. A favourite from me.
Thanks Mister Doctor for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

My goal for 2023 is to try and get close to qualifying for [The Non-Traditional Calendar Challenge (GC7RCQ3)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC7RCQ3), and as someone who is almost the exact opposite of a puzzle cacher, I have been having to resort to mostly finding multi-caches to fill in my calendar grid.

Well the snuggle muggle and I were in Burwood today and with needing to find a non-traditional cache today I started looking for nearby multi caches when I came across this one.

*Ooo...a [Mister Doctor](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=7d33975e-dd45-4386-8e04-c1988ca4e720&wid=67a3db6e-cfb3-45f7-b942-cff53921a511&ds=2) cache!*

This was a very fun multi. I haven't done a lot of business caches, but I think this was great to highlight a few fun aspects of the Burwood Brickworks. I have to admit, that I was checking in the wrong location and it wasn't until we finally checked the hint did we finally figure out the actual location for GZ.

Once we got to the correct it was then a quick search before finally the cache was in hand.

A very fun little multi and a great container!

Big thanks to [Mister Doctor](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=7d33975e-dd45-4386-8e04-c1988ca4e720&wid=67a3db6e-cfb3-45f7-b942-cff53921a511&ds=2) for the fun tonight and TFTC.

**Cache Maintenance Status**

The required information was easily obtainable at both waypoint. The cache container was in great shape and blended in well. The logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

I visited the two waypoints a while ago and calculated GZ* which turned out to be some distance away so left it for another day. (* - it wasn't GZ I didn't read the coordinate formula correctly and like others before me had the East digits wrong like others before me). After noticing these logs I took a closer look and oops its not far away at all. But alas I arrived on a day it was closed so had to try again. Today I was better prepared and headed straight for GZ - a place I have visited before so knew where to go. GZ was almost muggle-free but there was no problem exploring the area and belated spotted a very well crafted and appropriate cache. It took a little fiddling to get the lid off (it was a bit stuck and hard to get a grip on it) but otherwise everything went very smoothly - I even remembered to bring a pen, indeed one that actually worked!... Very Happy Great to see the establishment supporting our "game" - a favourite point from me MrDr

Out for half a day of caching with pinnacle333, we gathered the numbers required and worked out the correct GZ. The GPS would not settle, so we wandered aimlessly for a while, until the penny dropped and we found access. A very clever hide, and a favourite point. Thanks Mister Doctor.

A perfect way to end a great day of caching with echidna44!! We scratched our heads for a while on this one but then figured it out and were met with the great cache. Such a beautiful garden here and a fitting cache!! TFTC, a fav point from us (✯ᴗ✯)

It was my turn to do the supermarket shopping so I decided to head down here and have a look for this cache while I was out. I quickly collected the required information and figured where I had to go. It was nice and quiet on a Sunday so I was able to have a look around and grab the cache while I was here.
Thanks Mister Doctor for the cache. I'd only visited here quickly before and didn't know this part of it.

30-Jan-23
What can be said about this one other than it is another great Mister Doctor cache. We haven't ventured in here since it was all pulled down. Must say that it was handy knowing someone that had already made this find. Tricky but so simple when you have the right information. I don't want to give anything away but I found GZ to be very interesting in location and concept. Thanks for another great cache.

30-Jan-23
I am not originally from this area but I did see the brickworks before it was demolished. It is great to see how some of the bricks have been incorporated into the new building. This is definitely a sneaky hide although very easy to locate when you know. Interesting area. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.

This multi was a delight to do. I had no idea that this shopping center existed, but it is just beautiful. I sorted out the coordinates, but made the same error that many others make, from reading previous logs. Rather than head off in the wrong direction, I rechecked my work and came up with better coordinates. Close to GZ I quickly sussed out what I needed to do. I made my way to where the cache was and found a truly gorgeous environment and a cache container to match. Love it.

Following the inaugural Meet the CO last weekend I just had to go and track down Mister Doctor’s newish multi here, and I wasn’t disappointed.
Knowing the area helped at GZ, but a touch of geriatric dyslexia nearly set me off on a totally different jaunt.
Thanks for the history and biodiversity lessons on the way to this marvellous (as usual) cache.
Favourite from me

15-Jan-23
We took advantage of the much cooler weather today to do some cache maintenance and find some caches, this being one. We had been here before, for a quick visit to Dogue as they had something we needed a while back, but didnt go inside the actual shopping centre, so it was good to see inside and especially GZ! A quick wander around to gather the info - I love caches which show history like this - and then it was off to GZ where the bold but approriate cache was found!

Out and about with Rebel Acts once again to have some laughs and put some smiles on the map.
After attending a local geo event we did a few of the surrounding caches before the day got too hot.
I know this place very well and have seen many changes occur over the years from the 4th floor of the nearby RSPCA building.

Cheers for the cache

Out and about with My good caching mate Omegaman1971, there are always plenty of laughs while we are turning caches into smiles.

This is one of the caches found today. After attending the Event to me the Co we headed off to do a few new ones in the area, we loved this location and cache. Fav for sure.

Thanks Mister Doctor for the cache.

First cache for 2023 and really enjoyable. Walked past waypoint 1 not paying attention and was quickly redirected back with accurate coordinates. I had never noticed the brickwork inserted into the wall even though I had walked past it so many times. ABC in place and onward to waypoint 2, was hard to believe the solar output generated here, it is amazing and, I hope, the building of the future. DEF gained Waypoint 3 worked out and I wandered around a shopping centre in - out around the floor, back out, around the build in - out, At lot more than 300m, but at least in was cool on the in bits. Eventually worked out the error of my ways and soon had the magnificent handiwork of Mister Doctor in hand. Log signed and all returned.

*Found on the 31 Dec 2022 @ 3:43 pm.*
*Cache find # 13908.*

While on my way home from a CCEvent, I stopped in at this one.
I have been to this shopping centre a couple of times before the cache was here, but they were very quick, in and out trips.
I had no idea that there was more to this place until I went searching for this cache, after arriving at my GZ coordinates, it took a moment but I then realised that it wasn't quite where I needing to be, I then had to work out how to get to where the correct spot was, eventually I got there and the last log for the year was signed.
From memory, 2021 also ended with the signing a Mister Doctor cache.

**Thanks to Mister Doctor for placing this cache.**

We found this cache today on our Mainly Multis and Labs Encircling Ashburton Afternoon. We found the first two waypoints easily except that "H" had said that the second waypoint clue was 2DEF and not 2EFD. Unfortunately, those co-ords led to a small park about 1km away and the spot fitted the hit exactly. Yes, we had also not read that it was a 300m walk in total on the cache page but also the checksum still works when you mix up the digits. After burning 30 minutes trying to find the cache, we re-checked and found the error. Back we went and the very nice cache was soon in hand Thanks from D & H B-A

This cache was so much more than we expected. We came here expecting a shopping centre and found it was so much more.
We probably should have had a better idea about this place as we know someone who lives here, but we’ve never visited.
We gathered the information quickly and then used some common sense to determine where we would find GZ. We completed the cache in well under 20 mins, but spent a great deal of time afterwards exploring properly.
Thanks Mister Doctor. A really great cache.

Met OzHockeyChick at the brickworks after work as she needed a multi today. We soon had the coords for GZ. Now I was confident that I would find it pretty quick as this is my local shops.
Well we looked and looked, our GOS”s where sending us in different directions and all over the place. We looked high and low but just couldn’t find it. The I had the moment and we soon had the cache in hand.
Loved the container and placement.
Thanks for another top quality cache.

Enjoyed Multi and my mind was puzzled about where is so SMS to silence49 came oh tricky one fav from me and I had a great time finding your cache Mister Doctor, thank you so much for placing it.

So today is the last day this year I need a multi to fill my calendar. Still a handful to find in 2023, but at least December is now done.
I mentioned to hergab69 that I was intending to grab this cache today, so she quickly changed her plans to join me. We met after work at the posted coords, and quickly gathered the info, then onto wp2 and found what we needed. Made the calcs, checksum checked, and headed to gz where we were totally stumped. Inside, outside, the opening hours didn’t make sense. A quick msg to the CO and a rather helpful hint back, we both had that facepalm moment. A few minutes later we were at gz and signing the log. On our way back to our cars, we bumped into crank1 and silence49 who were heading towards gz. Stopped for a quick (sign) chat, and went our separate ways.
Clever cache! Another fav point here.

Thanks for bringing me here by placing this cache, Mister Doctor

This find at GZ is on top of the 'burbs' memorable cache list for me...what a magic spot to meet up! Its also memorable because it took me 3 visits to 'get' it! One to collect info, two to have a crack but still fail after triple checking numbers, and then three to work out what the hint meant as I don't quite break the 5' 2" ceiling. Apart from that I like the concept and effort in taking community education to the next level. TFTC and the super enjoyable fun. If I could award multiple faves I would!.

29-Nov-22
This proved to be an interesting challenge. After collecting the information required we arrived at GZ and … hmm no sign of a cache. Th hint didn’t help. Have we got the coordinates right? So back to recheck all our answers - but same result! Are the GPS satellite gods causing problems? So we wandered around a little and then discovered what the hint might mean. Shortly after we arrived at the proper GZ and quickly found the cache. I had no idea that this development existed and was surprised at the final location. Well worth a favourite point. Thanks to Mister Doctor & Burwood Brickworks for the hunt and the cache.

Looking forward to visiting here.

Back in early 2000, this was a place of urban legend. The place was completely rundown and housed some of the best graffiti art in Melbourne. People could come and spend time painting all day. There were things to climb and rooms to explore. The place was huge. It wasn't just graffiti either, all kids of abstract art inside. Not everyone knew of this place, it was just known as 'The brickworks' amongst heads. You'd get the tram down, duck under some bushes and sneak in through a side window. Great memories, and the end of an era.
