Passing by here today, it was a blustery, very cold and rainy day. Wasn't impressed with the weather Dunedin! You should learn to treat visitors better than this...lol.But parked the rental close to GZ and I too, being short had a bit of trouble reaching for the cache. But got there after leaning on my stomach which is now a bit sore. Shame these reverse werigos can't be done thru WhereYouGo, a dilapidated dinosaur of an app. We have to rely on other methods these days.

Found this one with TTO1 and TTO2 today. TTO1 and I are touring New Zealand with TTO2 for a couple of weeks and our travels brought us by this cache. So, we just had to stop and find it. Were really enjoying our visit and have been exploring lots of cool spots. Im sure that we will still have a lot that we didnt get to see on this trip, so I look forward to coming back again some time to see some more of this beautiful country. Very nice area along here. Thanks for the fun!

Armed with jandals and a chilly bin, a couple of Aussies headed across the ditch for a 3-week tiki tour, exploring the beauty of New Zealand.DAY 13: The sun finally decided to come to the party, which made for a beautiful day for exploring the greater Dunedin area.We couldnt decide whether to find this (and a couple of others along here) this afternoon, or first thing tomorrow. In the end we opted for now. A lovely walk, albeit a little cold and windy. Thanks for showing us this special place by placing this cache, Wilbywarrior tn koe~~

Today's task was to find some, if not all, of the Octagon series of letterbox caches plus any other caches near to my planned route that took my fancy. As two of my other targeted cache finals were adjacent to St Kilda Beach I parked up near the road barricade before walking to them. This was the 1st reached. A nice quick find. TFTC

Day 4 in New Zealand A few virtuals, favourited and some along the ways. Have attended the mega site now picking up D/Ts. Made it to this one and made the find with the QLD+1 crew of Paul, Glenda, Allan, Amanda, Mick, Gloria and myself My first overseas trip ever started off eventful with my tree fishing pole joining me in Brisbane after deciding not to travel on my flight. Virgin staff made up for their boo boo, so my adventure could continue stress free but making for a long day Day 1 involved my first FTF in another country, another webcam under my belt, a few virtuals and a couple of favourites. Day 2 involved the drive down to Dunedin, some caches of interest and the nastiest CiTO Ive ever done. Day 3 was D/T series, some planes and others along the way. Thanks Wilbywarrior for placing this Wherigo for me to convert into a smilie

#4112 Today is day 27 of my geocaching vacation in New Zealand. I'm in Dunedin for [Geo Toroa (Dunedin, NZ)](https://coord.info/GCA7ZHD) mega event this weekend. Today is the Mega day!Found it! It was a bit hard to reach, but i got it. Wilbywarrior, thank you for the cache! -crystaloops from Taipei, Taiwan on October 27, 2024 @ 16:10:20[GCA0AWR] Where'd You Go? (Dunedin) was a D2.5/T1.5 Micro Wherigo Cache at the time of finding.

Another wherigo to solve and go find .I came down to dunedin for the mega and i was lucky enough to have a fellow geocacher who had a sister in Dunedin which meant we had a place to stay which was marvellous and over the 6-7 days i visited so many caches that some have become a blur while others i remember well . We were lucky we had only a handful of DNF although i had not taken in to account the terrain of Dunedin and its many hills , gullies , streams and walk ways around these so that meant many of the caches i had planned to visit were not visited while others were. Unfortunately not all the albatross series - although solved - were some of the unvisited caches so they are there for another visit . when ever that maybe ! It was certainly helpful to have a local in our vehicle who knew where to go ! Thank you for this cache .

27-Oct-24
Out with Haydn.seek and Lions V Lambs taking in some of the sights of Dunedin. Alas, this is just a three day trip, if I had followed my normal pattern I would have been here for two weeks. Gotta save my leave for a big trip later. So I am just down for the mega, targeting specific objectives. Today it is the octagon letterboxes, wherigos and the albatross. All good here.---### LET'S HAVE A BLOCK PARTY!!! ###On May 3rd, 2025, we will be celebrating 25 years of geocaching in **Rotorua, New Zealand** with a special **Block Party** event. Join us to celebrate 25 years of this amazing game, and that the very first geocache hidden outside of the United States, 25 years ago, was hidden here in New Zealand. You do not want to miss this event, so check out the [25 Years of Geocaching NZ! We solved this and then headed out on a nice brisk walk, in the amazing weather which was put on just for the benefit of all those Mega cachers. Approaching GZ I spotted the hint item and the cache, but retrieval was slightly tricky for a short person like myself. Maplerosenz had to hold my ankles whilst I dangled over and unscrewed the bison. And if I thought that was tricky, replacing was the most impressive demonstration of screwing it back together one handed whilst upside down with a phone dangling in front of my eyes. Thank goodness there weren't any sea lions to witness that. Or other cachers!

21:49After the Mega quiz night was finished, before heading back to the accommodation, I decided to do one last cache stop for the night and grab this wherigo. Turned out that this road is being closed at nighttime which I found curious. However as it was only a 120 or so meters of walking from the closure point to GZ, I went, of course. Easy find, even in the dark.Kia ora! ???? Paldies! ????Thanks for the cache, Wilbywarrior!#11484

This is day two of my Dunedin Mega trip, the first time I've ever been here before (never mind geocaching). Obviously with such a plethora of caches to find there's going to be plenty I'll skip but I hope to find my targets. Unfortunately logging is going to be generic, but thank you to all the cache owners and event organisers for the things you do.Bit of a stretch. Also a bit annoyed that the road is closed when the signs says it would be open. All good here, and thank you to Wilbywarrior for the placement of your Wherigo Cache.Find #7237 at 25 October 2024 1:37pm

On our twentieth day in New Zealand we drive from Dunedin to Christchurch. This beautiful cache was on our way.TFTCHennesAt the end comes the poem of the day.New Zealand By James K. Baxter (for Monte Holcroft)These unshaped islands, on the sawyers bench,Wait for the chisel of the mind,Green canyons to the south, immense and passive,Penetrated rarely, seeded onlyBy the deer-cullers shot, or else in the northTribes of the shark and the octopus,Mangroves, black hair on a boxers hand. The founding fathers with their guns and bibles,Botanist, whaler, added bones and namesTo the land, to us a bridleAs if the id were a horse: the swampy townsLike dreamers that struggle to wake,Longing for the poets truthAnd the lovers pride. Something new and oldExplores its own pain, hearingThe rains choir on curtains of grey mossOr fingers of the Tasman pressingOn breasts of hardening sand, as actorsFind their own solitude in mirrors,As one who has buried his dead,Able at last to give with an open hand.

Danke fr diesen Geocache. Danke fr die Ausarbeitung. Danke frs Zeigen.Lieber Gru aus Duisburg / DeutschlandAndyDieser Logeintrag wird mit Hilfe von Google bersetzt.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________We set off on a long journey with 37 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Together with 36 other geocachers, the KiSt team undertook a very long trip to Australia ???? and New Zealand ???? for three weeks. On both the outward and return journeys, there was a stopover in Doha, the capital of Qatar ????.We experienced a great deal on this trip and gained many very different impressions of the two countries, their nature and their culture. Of course, the main focus was on visiting as many caches of as many different types as possible and also all accessible old cans. However, we also made sure to visit many special places of interest and to gain as comprehensive an impression as possible of nature and its flora and fauna. To save the logbooks, we usually signed in with our team name **Downunder24**. For "special" cans, however, we have not missed the opportunity to leave our nickname as well. This beautiful cache is now also one of our finds.Due to the large number of caches visited, it is unfortunately not possible for us to write an individual log for each can, which is why we would like to apologize to the owners for this collective log.We also met other cachers at some of the events and were able to share our experiences. Many thanks to the event owners!Of course we would like to thank all the owners for showing us the great locations, the sometimes tricky puzzles, exciting multis and wherigos, as well as the interesting virtuals and earth caches - TFTC!!!---In der Besetzung KiSt unternahmen wir zusammen mit 36 weiteren Geocachern fr drei Wochen eine sehr weite Reise nach Australien ???? und Neuseeland ????.

We were mainly out and about in the beautiful botanical garden, but despite strong winds and a few rain showers, there was still time for one or two caches. This one was there too. Thanks to Wilbywarrior for the cache, luring and caring for it - kind regards from Switzerland

On holidays from BrisbAne Australia for 2 weeks on the south island and today we travelled from Invercargill to Dunedin . I left my husband to watch cricket in peace at the irish pub in town while i found some target caches. This one is in such a lovely place and once at GZ i soon spotted the hide. Thanks Wilbywarrior for all the fun

My third week-long getaway this summer has me down in Queenstown for a few days of supporting the New Zealand brewing industry (and support it I have) followed by a few days in Dunedin supporting some of the influx of students into Otago university. Its a tough week, with only minimal time for Geocaching, but this was one I found.Today had me driving from Queenstown to Dunedin, and once here my notes told me to go find some Wherigo's, cos it's Wednesday. Must be a challenge cache somewhere that requires that. So I did.No problems here, the cache is in great condition exactly where it was supposed to be.---Thanks to Wilbywarrior for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.

Kia ora for the cache.

I always like to find unusual cache types, so this cache was on the early morning's agenda. There were a few cars around, even at this time, but all quite at GZ itself. It was quite chilly here, with a cool wind blowing.Charlotte spotted this one first. TFTC.

Eighteenth cache found today. With the first try the cache was very far away. With the second I knew I was going in the right direction. Eventually I was within one thousand meters and I could make use of a tool I have. After dinner I went to the coords that I had calculated. And with success!I would like to post a photo, but that would be too much of a spoiler.

Out and about on day 7 of my South Island Tour and day 1 of "Wellingtonions Gone South: Dunedin Edition" with NZ_B, TwigNZ, Mr-Mcgoo, Itchyfeet2020 and matagouri. The target of this day was mainly Sutton Lake and some other oldies. All logs signed as MINT. TFTC

A visit to Dunedin by Wellington geocachers NZ_B, Itchyfeet2020, TwigNZ, Mr-Mcgoo, Taybee NZ, and myself. Signing as Team MINT, targeting old caches, Wherigos, and whatever else we can find.A classic reverse wherigo that we were soon able to zero in on GZ. A gorgeous morning, with great views. Some stealth required (tricky with a group!) as walkers went past, then a quick find. All good in the container. Tftc!

A group of friends have traveled together to Dunedin to collectively target a whole bunch of caches, primarily because of their value in terms of Jasmer Grid filling, or for certain Challenge Caches that we have elected to try to achieve.M.M.I.N.T.T are Mr-Mcgoo, matagouri, Itchyfeet2020, NZ_B, taybee nz and TwigNZ. Some logs (such as this one) were signed this way, some were signed as M.I.N.T for expediency, and some were signed with individual names.Today the big target was getting up to visit Sutton Salt Lake, which is something we have all wanted to do for a long time. But being a Wednesday, and with a certain new Challenge in mind, we also wanted to get a few Wherigo caches and hence why we found this cache today. No issues encountered here, and the find was made quickly at the final co-ordinates. Thank you for putting this one out for all to find.

A beautiful day and a great start to our trip. Great view too. Day 1 of The Wellingtonians are in Dunedin tour with TwigNZ, Mr-Mcgoo, Itchyfeet2020 and matagouri., as well as TaybeeNZ who decided to have a few days of his South Island tour with us. We are targeting specific caches -oldies, wherigos (thanks to the Seagnoids new caches on the Wainuiomata Hill road in Lower Hutt), a certain jet and Al hopefully a certain bird. Of course, there will be days of laughter, no doubt at my expense During our time here, all found caches were signed as MINT, regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 5 of us hadnt found it previously, or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find.Kia ora rawa atu for the cache Wilbywarrior.

(# 8258) The Wellington crew are on another mission. Included are Itchyfeet2020, NZ_B, TwigNZ, Matagouri and TaybeeNZ. As usual quite a bit of hilarity. Day 1 was more of a travel around where we went to Sutton Lake then up to Seacliff. The first cache of the trip. Log signed as MINT.Thanks Wilbywarrior for bringing me here.

Day 1 of our Dunedin Adventure and of course its Wherigo Wednesday! Six welly cachers have arrived with lots of plans and caches to find. Watch out Dunedin! All logs signed as MINT. Thank you Wilbywarrior.

One watcher. I don't often have the time to look at WIGO's but handily enough Wednesday would be a good day to run over and track this blighter down in the app. The tourist provided a spoiler but one arm wasn't long enough to reach cache and jumped over to grab the cache. Low enough in the thick grasses to hide a small cacher as the rubbish guy came past to empty the bins. Not so much to pick up all the loose rubbish on the curbs. No.1 stood around checking phone as nothing unusual would phase passersby. Once coast was clear, a long leg over the fence and wander back to the town car tucking WIGO away for the challenge along the harbour. We look down of this stretch of road from Mt Grand, the carousel of red and blue lights are a common sight at night; they should move the gates of wrath further back to the club house where northern light was. ***5th** Wheel challenge Sept **Teamwork 9th** WIGO 25pt **275pt***. TFTC

I had come to try this once before, but there was a security officer waiting to close the gate so opted to leave it for another day. Anyway, came back and there was no issues! Thanks for the placement, always good to get a rarer cache type like a WhereIGo.

TFTC Wilbywarrior, the cache was found in good order Very Happy Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 4 find(s) of 5 today, making this find #4158

Solved online when first published. Today had biked to see an open home and needed a bit more distance before heading home, so, why not go past here. A group of walkers in fancy dress on way up, so collected on way back. Tidy hide, all dry and shipshape.

A bit of old fashioned triangulation with map and dividers and I managed to pinpoint this cache. TFTC, logged it on another pleasant Dunedin autumnal morning.

Never have I ever …. found a WIGO in March - a fact that I hadn’t realised until I was idly trawling trough Challenge caches in Queensland.
Today was the day, info gathered and cache quickly found. A lot of people promenading as the weather improved and it turned into a sunny & (almost) warm day.
Thanks for this WIGO, Wilbywarrior.

Well this was fun! Im traveling from the Netherlands and wanted to do a whereIgo type to collect various types. Rented a scooter to get around. The view on the final location was a nice surprise. TFTC!

Got lucky with the second site being within 1km, so one more location required and off to the final. Fun activity, thanks.

Found on a lovely sunny day with Beth_Wish. Proud to say that we got it in five - bit of mathematics got us within cooee after three, then two more measurements based partly on geosenses and partly on luck. Sadly I didn't take a screencap of my stats page to prove it Sad I enjoyed this one entirely and look forward to completing the one that starts in Logan Park. Cheers!

Truing to get all possible cache types in NZ and this was selected as the wherigo. No issues finding the cache. Greetings from Finland.

Plugged my readings into a handy tool and soon had some likely coordinates. Soon spotted a location that matched the hint and swooped in to sign the log between passing muggles. TFTC
