Found it pretty quickly and the mozzies found me. Thanks for the great Adventure Lab and bonus Find #234
Completed the adventure lab a few weeks ago, had a lot of fun wandering around, but did not have time to find the bonus. I know the math is not hard, and the walk, well I have walked further, but you know what Auckland's traffic is like, you need to be getting home before you get trapped in a continuous line of cars.So here I am passing by, and decide to come and find the cache. You see I am without a phone, and have no navigation in the car I am using. So this is all old school. Have the etrex 20 out, numbers plugged in, and here I am wandering around. I am wondering how many satellites the GPS are using vs the phone? In the tree cover I go, and it is a bit of a wander here and there, but thankfully I spot something suspicious, a pile of rocks, and there is the cache.Happy to be signing the log, thanks for the hide and the adventure lumin298I see you were briefly a local again, checking on this cache. Sorry did not get to your farewell event, I think work got in the way? hopefully you are loving your new home, and lots of new caches to find and areas to explore
We were up in Auckland today for an appointment and happy to have time to pick up a few caches. Disappointed not to find this one today after an interesting ALC but there were quite a few muggles around....
Finding some AdLabs on my way back to Mangere and stumbled upon this park. Thanks for a nicely worked series followed by this bonus.TFTC
I had the day off and had been meaning to come over and finish this ad lab and bonus cache. I was in the area for an errand and made the detour over here. Being a weekday it wasn't too busy in the park today. Completed the calculations and made my way to GZ. There were a few options here and I tried a few before locating the cache with some resident slugs present.
#968 I had never been here before so I guess you could say it was a GribbleFirst for me Cache in good condition, thanks for the adlab and hide - it was a clever way to point out key features of the park!
Love that the adventure lab had this bonus! A quick grab on our way back to the accommodation. Thank you!
Quickest AL ever. Off to bonus. Probably took me longer than the AL. Nice park to set one up. Tftc
A lovely walk around gribblehirst park. Thought we should of done the adventure lab and mystery cache. Found cache after searching for a bit. Tftc
Now I'm back in Auckland, I was able to check on the waypoints after the maintenance request from @Chikenbums2. The plaque that mysteriously disappeared has now magically reappeared (or maybe the council just replaced it), but the information panels on the compass table are gone! I've adjusted the two Ad Lab stages relating to those places, and checked on the final which is still in place.
Found it! Didn't realise adventure lab was a different app maybe because I'm a newbie . Also 2 of the tasks were missing eg the plaque with the mountain wasn't present and the table with the compass had no writing on it and had to guess these!Might need to do some maintenance.Managed to find it in the end - awesome spot!
Came to the park as in the area doing errands and thought nice day for a walk but also a playground for our youngest. We had the wrong tree at first but quickly found it once we had right tree.TFTC

After getting all the AL info, headed off to the final. Struggled a bit in the wrong area but thankfully found it. [TFTC]
Stopped by for a quick look after the wild and crazy wind. The cache is still secure and all is well!
I am targeting getting to 14,000 finds on my anniversary event in a few weeks time, so I'm on a mission today to gain as many smilies as possible - largely with the help of the bountiful supply of ad labs in Auckland. So matagouri and I left Hamilton nice and early. How could I say no to visiting a park with such a cool sounding name. The place was muggle central when we arrived and the biggest challenge was finding a carpark. After a quick dash around collecting the ad lab points, it was off to the final. Thanks for setting this and the ad lab series up.
A day in Auckland with rattll, trying to amass some numbers quickly. Gribblehurst Park busy with sports today, but GZ nice and quiet after completing the adlab. A short hunt, before finding the cache tucked away. All well in the container. Signed the log, and returned as found. Tftc!
We were in the area for an event at the stadium nearby, arriving early to get parking. We were happy to see a nearby ad lab and bonus to follow on some time. After completing the ad lab stages, we did the calculations and got some good-looking coordinates for the bonus. The GPS on our phones struggled to settle, but we searched some likely places within the area. We stopped to regroup, and then wondered if the cache might be where the teen had stopped to wait for us, and what do you know, it was! Thanks for the ad lab and bonus.
**XX** MMMMMMMDCCLIV: Out and about on our first full day in Auckland. Nice adventure around the park. Searched a few spots before locating this one. TFTC
#13,898. I am up in Auckland this week with the family. I am getting an opportunity to do some geocaching in between other family activities. I visited this park for the adlabs on a previous trip to Auckland. So good to get the opportunity today to revisit and complete the bonus final. I initially went way off track into an area that looked suitable but did not hold the cache. Then tried a second spot that again looked suitable. Finally the GPS settled on the correct hiding spot. Was a bit surprised to see it there as it could become a bit exposed if people don't cover it well. Anyway signed the log and replaced everything with camo on top. Thanks lumin298 for hiding it here.
Completed the Adventure Cache and then a short walk to this quick find. #7277
The GPS was bouncing a bit as I got to gz so it took me a few minutes to find. I removed a bag of dog poo that was left right next to the cache I really question why people do that what the point of picking up your dog poo and then toss the plastic bag in nature, really inconsiderate. Anyway, have a merry Christmas and TFTC
Enjoyed the Ad Lab and also enjoyed the bonus (especially since it took me close to where Id parked the car to start the lab). Really enjoyed my visit to this park. TFTC!!
I was already on a maintenance check this morning for [one of my other caches](https://coord.info/GC9EXAD), so why not check this one too. No issues here except it was VERY exposed - I could see it from several metres away. It was probably the wind, but I'll just reiterate that it would be great if you could be very careful when replacing the cache after you've signed in, to make sure it doesn't get muggled again
#2615. This is day 9 of an 11 day trip from Wellington, to Paihia to Auckland to with GB Leader and Dianna58 (our newly GC signed up German wwoofer). Day 9 was the rainiest of the trip so far but there were certain tasks needing completing - the Virtual Monopoly cache photo to claim that cache at the Town Hall, and the Event right here. The first was very wet, the second not so bad. After being escorted by tramyard with his extensive knowledge of the AT bus system (thank you drivers for allowing us Wellingtonians to ride with SGC without buying Hop cards), we made it to Gribblehirst Park in time to get most of this AfLab done before my Event. Then as the rain returned, I raced to get this cache (relatively easy to find once the GPS settled under the trees!) and completed the formalities. Tftc, the AdLab, the help with a certain other cache, and your company at my Event, lumin298. FP for sure!
Great to have an event in a beautiful park. We walked the AL before the event and found the bonus after. Tftc
Down for a day trip to Auckland to try and pick up the necessary cache types for the latest challenge.
This ad lab and bonus was conveniently close to where I dropped off Mrs 0B8 for the day.
Got the final coords sorted and then headed off to search. The GPS actually took me right past the correct GZ to another likely beacon, where I searched for quite a while without success. I did find a blank log paper sheet a few metres away but it was a good 5 minutes before the actual cache container was located. .. TFTC

After an enjoyable walk around the park gathered the information and worked out the final. Fairly quick at GZ. TFTC!
Regular maintenance check. Cache was secure in place; added new waterproof log since the previous one had gone walkabout again!
Found lying out in the open ( muggled) with no log paper. Sadly my handbag has also had a clean out, so no log paper on hand.
Thanks and greetings from Lithuania.

This took wee bit of looking as the GPS pointed into the trees. Found it in the end. It was our first time in this park, and it could be a busy place in the weekends! Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are in Auckland for a few days visiting family. We cruised around a wee bit today in the damp, around the Gribblehurst Adventure Lab.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

Been in this park recently for an event but had not really explored it. This Ad Lab made me do it. There were lots of people parking at the rugby club and then heading down the road for a Blues game. Once completed we headed to GZ where a 2nd pass of the area produce the goods. Thank you for the placement
There was a big rugby game on here this afternoon but no problems completing the WPs. The final is safely away from any muggles and quick find once I checked the correct place, thanks for setting this up
Enjoyed doing the AdLab and made a quick and easy find of the bonus cache, although I was just about to move the last "rock" when I realised it wasn't.....................it was the biggest, fattest slug ever!
The previous log had me worried it might be missing again, so I went down to check... but all is well and it's right where it should be.
Stranded in Auckland due to a flight cancelation. Stayed locally. Pleased to find this AL and bonus mystery nearby. A very nice way to spend time while waiting for rebooted flight. Thanks. A FP.

Yep, it's missing. Thank you for letting me know, and sorry about that! I will go and replace it tomorrow morning.
I've attached the last photos of the original - thanks to all the names on it!

Completed AdLab quickly but no bonus to be found. Extended search area a lot but no luck for us

This was loads of fun to do, even if it was around 9.30pm by the time we hunted down the Bonus hide!
It was a bit too dark to have a go on the slide or flying fox tho!
Our 94th cache (Not Ad lab stages included) and final find for the day!
TNLN TFTC!!

Searched the wrong spot at first but changed to another likely item and found quickly. No pen so left a brown dirt smudge. Tftc
Decided to come and make the most of the lovely weather this evening and do the adventure lab.No problems collecting the information required and managed to make a nice quick find at the final co-ordinates. Now for a quick go on the flying fox before heading home.
We had done the Ad Labs in Gribblehirst Park some time ago, but saved this Bonus cache for one of the many days in December when we needed a puzzle find. Today this was my first stop, and I expected a quick find. But it was not to be. After walking around in circles checking every spot that the hint could refer to, somehow I missed the easiest place of all. Eventually I just checked everywhere, and was very glad to finally spot what I was looking for - an obvious cache hide. TFTC
I decided to brave the persistent, if not too heavy, rain this afternoon, with an afternoon walk around Kingsland then this park, collecting the waypoints of two adventure labs. It was a walk of a good length, if wet. At least the rain kept most potential muggles away and I was able to go about my business undisturbed. Only one potential issue with the ad lab; a plaque seemed to missing (though I may be blind to it). I was able to produce a likely set of coordinates for this bonus hide, and made my way over to GZ. The container was soon found after a brief search. Thanks for the ad lab and the bonus cache placement!
Somewhere I'd never ever been before and I really enjoyed exploring. Loved the Ad Lab, quickly worked out the coordinates of the bonus - - and found yet another dimension to the park. Many thanks .
After a full weekend we were keen to do something nice and relaxing and this park provided the perfect setting.
We were last here in September when we found the awesome Cabbage Tree Swamp trackable hotel but on that occasion didn't have a lot of time to explore so doing the Adventure Lab today gave us a chance to have a proper look around the park.
It is very odd that the plaque is missing at the entrance, it seems a strange thing to steal so maybe it has been taken by the council for maintenance. But fortunately its absence didn't cause us any issues.
The other waypoints provided no issues and we sat down at a table to work out the coordinates to the bonus cache.
After investigating what looked like a hedgehog but turned out to be the end of a bottlebrush we walked to GZ, discovering another nice area of the park in the process.
The cache was quickly spotted as it was a bit exposed so after signing the log we made sure it was concealed slightly better to stop muggle interference.
We had a look around a bit more of the park before leaving and can see why the CO likes it here, there is a lot to see and do and it provides something for everyone.
Thanks lumin298 for the great Adlab and Bonus and for bringing us back here.

The plaque at the park entrance has mysteriously disappeared! I'll see if I can figure out what happened to it, but for now that stage is still able to be completed. Just have a think about what mountain is closest... or guess until you pick the right answer
Did the Ad Lab between showers today & had a go on the Flying fox, then signed in at this bonus, I think this area is used as a toilet, smelt awful. Thanks for bringing us to this park.
Maintenance run - checked the log, checked the container, and added a ziploc bag for extra protection. Beautiful day here today!
I had lots of fun doing the AL. It was Sunday, so there were people working at the bike station. I told them they were famous for being in the AL and let them answer the question. They got it right on the first try.
At GZ, I followed my GPSr so carefully that I had blinders on to everything that was not where the arrow was pointing. Too bad. Had I looked just a bit to the left I would have seen the correct place.
As I headed back to my GeoVan, I got invited to have a sausage that two guys who were grilling on the BBQ. I had long chat with them, too. TFTC.

Enjoyed the stroll around the park before heading to the bonus. GPS took us off piste at first but headed back to a more obvious place and the cache was soon in hand. Thanks Lumin
I had a day off work today, nothing quite worked to plan so I came up with an idea for making a puzzle cache then decided I needed to get out of the house and do some needed caching. Where would I go? I have had this AL and bonus in mind for a few days now, so it was time to come and do it on a very warm day.
Parked up close by the stairs leading to the Hotel cache and got out my e-bike. Too lazy to walk anywhere and rode around quite leisurely picking up the needed info. Did I have any problems, no I didn't, thank you for asking. The 2 word answer below south I got on my 2nd attempt, didn't see the not so obvious!
Then off to the final. Lay the bike on the ground and found the cache pretty quickly. Logged in and re-hid the cache and then back to the van and off to another ad lab.... Chinatown.
Thanks lumin for the hide and ad lab, great fun!

Found with Cephy while visiting the trackable hotel. GPS drift had me standing in the middle of a clearing for a good while, scratching my head. I can blame the GPS, right??
Thanks for a fun Lab, and a great bonus to finish it off!

Found with Net61. I enjoyed my walk through Gribblehurst Park though Im not sure the homeless guy sleeping by the compass table appreciated us disturbing him as he glared at us before walking off.
Meet up with Merlot for a nice walk around this park on Labour day Monday. Unfortunately we did disturb the harmless homeless man having a sleep in the sun.
Quick walk to GZ thanks.
Quick walk to GZ thanks.
M24: me and M13 walked from Western Springs, after watching our little sisters rugby game, to Gribblehirst Park, where, of course, the Geoevent took place.
The Adventure Lab itself was cool, although as we said in our Ad Lab log, a party was going on at the compass table, but we were lucky to get the answer. After that, the bonus cache was a nice and easy find.
Log all good and signed. TFTC.

Woke up to the email saying this cache had been published, which admittedly I had heard some whispers of bits existence.
Not feeling too rushed as the ‘commute’ to it wasn’t far, I wandered out and started the WPs, after point 4, I noticed McA had already logged a find, at 8:10??? 9 minutes after publication…how it is possible??
I carried on on the WPs and went for the final, I found it easily and saw McA was already there! How is it possible!?!?!? ??
As I was walking home, I ran into him, he said he had seen the AL publish earlier than the final and come over. Ah…that’s how it’s possible!! ??
Had a nice chat with him and headed back home.
Thanks Lumin for putting out a Gribblehirst Park cache and Adventure Lab, I had long considered it!
Good start to out last day here!
Thanks again!

I was lazing around this morning. I had hoped no one had gone for the new Ambury cache at night, but they had (note to self: new FTF competitors to consider) so when I got a notification of a new AdLab I perked right up! When I saw there was a bonus to be FTF’d too, which could be solved without its publication, I was out the door within minutes. All quiet at the AdLab WPs and after trying a few spots at the bonus final (seemingly avoiding the obvious one right there in the middle!) I spotted that the bonus had been published and I could access the hint. That narrowed things down and I soon had the blank log in hand. If Mr CC had still been in the country I’d have had much less chance of claiming this… but then there he was, after I found his letterbox! My AdLab notification had beaten his bonus notification which gave me the upper hand. Good to chat to him and wish him well as I had missed his event. All in all, a great start to the weekend! Thanks for the Great Gribble cache!

What a lovely gentle start to a caching morning!
Had planned to go out for a few newish caches today with Mrs Jag... so we changed our plan slightly and decided to meet up here.
Was a very quick walk around to complete this.
Good to have another cache in this wonderful park!
My granddaughters really enjoyed CC's caches here...and the playground.... on earlier occasions.
Must bring my bike here for a check up !
Thankyou lumin298.

Nice and pleasant find at GZ but I did focus on less obvious object and the hide was actually at the most obvious place.
It was also nice to bump into CO and [@CyclicalCaching](http://coord.info/PRN6KCY) in the Gribblehirst Park before I've started doing this Lab.
Thanks for a bonus hide for your AL!

Had planned to head out for some caching with Supernannny, so when this new cache and ad lab was published we decided to meet here.
We had a lovely stroll around the various waypoints, although there was a homeless man snoozing in the sun on the bench at one of the waypoints - but he did not stir as we gathered the answer we needed and then headed off to the next waypoint.
A short stroll to the final, and it wasn't long before the well camouflaged cache was located.
Thanks for the ad lab and bonus Lumin
