Logs
Located a larger distance from the track than would have expected for tracks subject to the controlled area notice. Will ensure feet are well cleaned on exit.
Found eventually this is another one placed too far off track given the environment and Kauri die back
Again off track, cache was dry and log has space, nice shady spot. We have caught our breaths, enjoying the wee bits of flat forest tracks. TFTC #296
Our plan for today was to walk the track from Karamatura to Mount Donald. There are plenty of muggles here but once we had left the lower track they soon disappeared. Got to GZ looked around and noticed many tripple trees. Started off our search at the wrong one but once we got the right one it was a simple find.
I'm in Auckland to spend the weekend with the my grown up kids and their families who live down here. Friday I cached the Mahurangi area and got a nice haul. Today's plan is to join the Auckland Geocachers in the morning for a walk in the Waitakere Ranges. Sunday's plan is to watch my Grandkid play hockey then hang out and relax at their place.
I had a very sucessful caching weekend so I was very pleased to see that my May souvenir is in the bag once I have completed my logs.
Signed as Team FLAG: flossieteacake, Lostcourse, Lis's crew and Gorby. A great group walk after the event. Yip, Lostcourse was onto this one very quickly. Definitely some interesting shaped trees along this walkway. Thanks _Pax_ and tramyard for all the caches and cache maintenance along this track

As we approached GZ, we were muttering triple tree, three trees, and I saw LC bound off the track to it and found it straight away.
Team Flag (Flossieteacake, Liz's Crew, Myself and Gorby) did the walk and this series of caches from the Mount Donald McLean car park down to the Karamatura Valley. It took us approximately three hours, cache finding and general chatting time included. My recollection matches Gorby's here. A nice easy find. Cheers for the cache placement!
A day to myself walking the Donald McLean and Karamatura tracks.
Lots of threesey-treesies didn't make this find very easy (for me at least)
A process of elimination.
Thanks _Pax_

There were a lot of three tree options here. We had to go a bit deeper to find the right one. We did so we knocked this one off as well
Well this could have been a needle in a haystack. I looked out across the forest & saw a place where i could make a start searching. As luck would have it, it was exactly the right spot. Phew, could well have been difficult otherwise. TFTC
Found hint item with no issue. Still not much sign of people traffic by this stage.
After Supernannnys community event at Huia.
We decided to get this last one.
Found it the first place I looked.

Was very pleased to get this one today!
I had hoped to get it after my event...and merlot was kind enough to drive three of us up to Mount Donald McLean car park....was still a bit of a trek.....and a few stairs... but so happy to complete the series.
Thanks Pax and Tramyard ...love the funny pic you put up!

We had just the one smiley still to get after having already done this trail so I headed up with Supernannny and Net61 after Supernannny’s event at Huia. A quick easy find by Net in the first place she looked. Now to get back to the car before the forecasted rain
A solo excursion for Mr Coblet
I had the day off work and took the opportunity to head out here for a walk and to look for this new series of caches.
There were a few options to choose from by I found the trio on my second attempt.
Now that the track was going downhill and I wasn't too keen on a climb on my return journey but couldn't resist at least one more cache so down I went.

I had the day off work today and it was a nice looking day, so I decided to head out to Huia to hike the Karamatura/Donald McLean Tracks again, with these new Karamadon caches giving me a reason for another visit. As it was a week day, the tracks were very quiet and I only encountered a couple of other people throughout the day. Thanks to Tramyard and Pax for hiding this series! Another one a bit off track, but managed to spot the hint item from the track, so a quick find here.
Any reason this was published after all the others? An error? Frustrating that I’ll have that missing from this trail as I’m not likely to ever be back.
MrsJAG had walked this trail with Supernannny earlier in the week on Labour Day Monday and noticed that there was a gap in the trail - but dismissed this as thought there may have been an old cache that we had both previously found.
We had a busy morning, and after lunch the forecast rain had not arrived so thought we would head to Karamadon for a walk. We got to the car park and it was almost empty (very different to our last visit when there were no car parks available). The trail was relatively empty and we enjoyed our stroll to gz. MrJAG was feeling a bit poorly, so let MrsJAG go ahead and once at gz the hint item was soon spotted and soon after the cache was in hand. Opened it up to find a blank log. Thanks for the excuse to come back to this lovely walk and claim {FTF}

Well... For some reason I forgot to publish this one and if only showed up after they were published as there was clearly a gap in the trail....
As the cache was already hidden I just had a late publish...
And who knows... If the other trails open again one day we might add more here.... Or maybe close by...
