Open the spot up for the locals, sounds like where the 3 became one may now be a deep hole.
When we found this it was very deep in a hole, at least half an arm deep. Hope this helps.
Had a short hunt around numerous options . Ended up focussed on a more (now) horizontal version but even then no luck so I guess that wasnt the spot either ! Saved for next visit! Thanks
Yay! We have completed the loop. Thanks for setting these up and making it an enjoyable trail. TFTC
Well, that took a bit to find.Good spotting by Mrs Porknpuha. It was in further than we thought.A good find, grab, sign, and flee.TFTC
A Geckoh cache away from home. After looking in the wrong spots we eventually tracked this down.
Was looking elsewhere initially, until something caught our eye matching the hint description. A bit of hunting and cache in hand. Tftc
A beautiful afternoon to knock off the geocaches along this section of the Tongariro River trail. Cache is in good order, Cheers
Squirrel Nutcase spotted this one before me.
we had guessed what we might be looking for with hint given.

Headed down to Taupo for a long weekend to attend the Possum Night Trail run on Saturday. Left Auckland early on Friday, getting stuck in the traffic on the way to Fielddays at Mystery Creek. Soon left the State Highway to travel down to Turangi.
On Friday I decided to complete the Tongariro River Trail. I completed the 14.75km circular route in 4 hours of caching. I parked on SH1 near the bridge into Turangi and headed up the steep route to start the walk.
Initially, I focused my search closer to the trail before spotting a likely candidate slightly further out.

Although it was raining quite steadily I enjoyed my walk along the river trail this afternoon. I started at the Red Hut Bridge and walked north for about 3 Km before retracing my steps. TFTC
I decided to walk the loop track between the two swing bridges on the Tongariro River. Up the Eastern side side and down the Western. There was an AdLab cache, with a bonus, and several Trads. The full loop took me about 4.5 hours and was 11km long. I found 5 AdLab locations and 15 Trads in total. Not a bad haul.
The track certainly needed one here.
Cheers for the cache, Geckoh.

Making my way around the loop today. Love this walk. Done it a couple of times before. No problem finding cache with good hint. Tftc

I just happened to meet up with a family walking the other way as I got here so had to 'linger', checking my phone etc until they'd disappeared around the corner.
It took a little bit of circling around and trying numerous spots that could have fitted the clue, before the right one was had, and the cache spotted. I'm wondering if it was split before the cyclone or not?
Nice to find it anyway.
Thanks for another gap filler

We have been staying in the vicinity for a week, waiting for the right weather for a bike ride to clean up some of the new caches since we were here last. Not too wet on the trail considering all the rain we have had and not too many people out on the trail either. Great day. Cache is all good. TFTC
This cache took a bit longer than most of the others we found today. There was nothing wrong with the coordinates, the hint or how it was hidden. It was more a case of the site being different to how I imagined it would look.
Parked at the NZMCA and headed out for a bike ride to do the loop trail along the river. Nice hide here, all good, cheers
JD found it. He likes to say, " see dear you have to stick with the experienced" ,
We completed a 19km loop bike ride on our ebikes. We went from the Turangi where we had been staying in our campervan to this cache on our ebikes. Then made a loop back .

With (Mr) Davidson Clan and ApacheD… We came to Turangi especially for the Community Celebration Event. With that now behind us, it was time to clear off a few caches from our geomap.
Once more, my companions bolted and left me in the dust. By the time I caught up, the cache was already in hand. Another effortless find for me (lol)… Thanks Geckoh. TFTC.

ApacheD, Squirel Nutcase and I have come away for the day caching. Nice quick find here today cache is in good condition. Thanks for hiding the cache.
What better way to spend boxing day than to getting not just one, but two [FTF] . Thanks for the cache!
A mad dash along the track before dinner, its been a while since we've been along here. TFTC and an FTF on Boxing Day.
Just about to settle down for a nice dinner and some new caches popped up. So out with the bikes and off we went. I'd never ridden along this trail before - what I nice trail to ride. This was a nice easy find here and then we continued onwards to the next one. Didn't stop for others as we wanted to get back for dinner. Will come back another time for the others. Joint [FTF] with jägersmum and punga & paua. TFTC!!!
