This was a fascinating location to visit. The Dexter Horizontal Windmill is certainly unusual. Thankfully there was sufficient wing today for the windmill to be in action. Accurate coordinates and a familiar style of hide led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Thewins5 for the cache and for bringing us here.

WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 2 - Lockhart to Moulamein via Jrana, Jerilderie, Deniliquin and Wakool. It seemed like a freezing cold night last night, but I am sure it is going to get colder as I go further south. I did a bit of caching around Jrana before moving on to Jerilderie & Deniliquin where there were only Labs left to do, before heading to Moulamein for the night. I managed to get a spot behind the pub, despite all the bikes here for what seems to be a big band night . I could be an interesting night. With a normal windmill over the road and this one here, it was quite an amazing sight. I was joined by two young lads who were also looking for this cache, but I found the prize and we all signed it and put it back. Thanks for the cache Thewins546367.2 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2007 March Signal A#89**Albida**

It was time for the traditional post Christmas road trip. The stockings were emptied of presents, feasts were devoured and great times were had with family and friends. Now to get away!Day 1: Melbourne to Griffith via some rain, storms and a few caches.OzHockeyChick wasnt a fan of the arachnid across the road so we stopped here to check out this interesting windmill. Thanks Thewins5 for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. We have seen, fixed/repaired and provided parts for plenty of windmills over the years, but we have never come across this particular type before! Fascinating! and wonderful that a cache has been placed nearby to highlight it. SL at 2pm and we left one of our windmill pathtags to celebrate finding it. On our way to Boree Creek for some adventures. #10,413 TFTC Thewins5

#696 ~ Driving by on our way to Tassie we stopped for a short break & thought wed quickly find this cache before heading back on the road. Wrong!!! This elusive cache had us searching for a good 40min. It really shouldnt have been as hard as we made it if only we looked at the right angle. I did not want a DNF on this one cause its unlikely well be back this way. One last check & Krossbo nabbed it. Thank goodness we found it and put a smile here on the map. Thanks for making us stop at this interesting piece of history & TFTC!! Our TB travelers TB40Z1C Bunny Bug, TBGC9X Chiboogie Pup & TB421W3 Travel Racer Andrew thought it a nice photo opportunity

Having noticed a cluster of 3 new caches in NSW recently, I was surprised to see 2 of them claimed by Laighside Legends Surprised[?]Big GrinCool But why not the 3rd one[?]Surprised[?]Surprised Turned out it was 'a bit of a detour' and so he kept going Big GrinRazzWinkBig Grin
Keeping my eye on that possible FTF[^] I counted the days until I had a day free of appointmentsSmileCoolSmile
I'd have loved[:X] to have spent the weekend caching in NSW[^]Cool however I had a support worker teed up to try and get 3 pesky caches on Saturday morning[^], so it had to be a day tripSadBig GrinCoolBig Grin[^]
All up 480km round trip[|)]CoolSmile, 7 Smilecaches foundSmile, 1 new adv lab completedCoolSmile and we got back to Shepparton in time to grab a yiros and a bottle of sparkling red wine for teaCool[:X][^]CoolRazzWink 2 of the 7 Smilecaches were FTFsSurprisedCoolBig GrinCool and we were 1st to complete the new adv lab tooSmileCoolSmile
Despite the crazy 40* heatTwistedTwisted, we had a good daySmile in the trusty little Corolla[:X]Cool[:X] who handled the varying potholesTwistedSad, flood wash outsTwistedSad, fallen branchesTwistedSad and crazy dirt tracksTwistedSad with aplomb! [:X]Cool[^]Cool[:X][:X]
I had slip on sandals on so I could kick them off when drivingWink[^] which meant that there was 3 times when I pulled on my rubber boots[^][^][^] to get to caches not because of water but due to long grass, shade under trees and possible snakes[^][^][^]

This was a very interesting history lesson for me![^]CoolSurprised[^]Cool
I didn't realise that there were windmills like this!Surprised[?]SurprisedCool
Cache was an easy findSmile while I used the car to hide me from the masses of boating people across the road[^]SmileWink
Afterwards, I took Rex over and gave him several swims in the water at the boat ramp, which he loved[:X][^]Cool[:X]
