14-Sep-24
Down in the mighty wellington for the hutt 10km run on the Sunday, not better way to come down early and find caches while down this way thankfully weather held out and didn't get rain until doing the lab cache in the evening so made for a wet walk, thanks for the placement and as always enjoyed caching down this way.

16-Aug-24
After a DNF nearby, I headed to this one hoping for a successful find (although in reality thats how one approaches any unfound cache anyway!). Fortunately it didnt take long. The log on 30/06/24 was certainly helpful. Its just a matter of feeling in every little nook and cranny, so to speak. #7700. TFTC.

11-Aug-24
So tiny! TFTC

30-Jun-24
Had a day to myself to do some clean out geocaching in Waikanae. Fantastic day with zero DNF's (Thanks all hiders). Searched for far too long and then PAF.. Whilst on the phone they said something and within seconds I spotted the sneaky nano. Took a few seconds to extract from hiding spot. For future cachers it's not in, on or near the roof. Thanks for the cache.

Thanks so much Trinity! This was a super fun experience and we found it the second time around! Great spot!

01-Apr-24
Out for some caches in Waikanae beach. First stop of the day and as expected on an early Easter Monday it's quiet and no muggles about. We fumbled and looked and fumbled some more. A well loved bus stop today alas no cache (and that's not an April fools joke). Will be back another day as the kids love the playground around the corner now. Thanks for placing and making us explore here

30-Mar-24
Gone?

19-Mar-24
Needing 3 caches for the March Equinox souvenir, a trip to my orchard gave me a good excuse to detour off the expressway and head into TrinityNZ country to complete this task. But the bus stop at the corner of Reeves and Adrian was not the first. Searched everywhere! Has it been muggled again?

03-Mar-24
Teeny tiny! Took a wee while!

16-Sep-23
Spent a shockingly long time looking for this one! Lots of potential nooks and crannies. On my final poke about I found it! Log is very full. TFTC

19-Jul-23
I called around here early this morning, and after reading some logs I imagined that I might be in for a long search.
Happily though I started my systematic search in exactly the right place and made an instant find.
I put my initials in the last empty space on the logsheet.
Thanks very much for the cache.

19-Jun-23
Found, but took a minute. It was ity bity teeny tiny

06-Jun-23
This one took me quite a while to spot (or touch), so it was with some relief I was able to sign the log. I didn't want two dnfs in a row!
Thanks for setting this up

31-May-23
Another trip down to Kapiti Coast to find 15 caches for my personal challenge. Second time here. Thanks TrinityNZ for the cache.

28-May-23
IF persuaded me along to help avenge her DNF, but she found it after a few minutes anyway. Thanks TrinityNZ ??

28-May-23
We were down in the area at the yellow Submarine event in Rutherford Drive which was very close to this cache although this had had a DNF by an accomplished cacher - We looked and climbed and looked etc for some time until i suddenly change my viewing area and there it was . so it was good to get this one under our belts and put on my yellow attire and move onto the event . thank you for this cacche we took nothing and left nothing .

28-May-23
28 May 2023 16:23. Because there's always time for 'one more cache', I persuaded BFG to swing by here so I could give this one another go. Still took a fair bit of searching to track down even with two of us involved! TFTC TrinityNZ for placing this cache, number 12656 for me.

28-May-23
I had a few targeted geocaches today in coordination with the CO's *Yellow Submarine* event.
This one because it was close by.
But I couldn't find it on the way to the event. Swapped a hint with a caching buddy at today's event which proved effective with an easy find on the second attempt. TFTC

28-May-23
HS had organized a raft of caches to find before and after attending Trinity's Yellow submarine event. A very enjoyable afternoon out and about various walkways around Waikanae. Tftc.

28-May-23
Glad there were four of us searching. Even then took some poking around. This sort can be challenging. Thanks TrinityNZ.

27-May-23
The perfect day for searching. Weekend. Raining. No muggles. Must have searched in over hundred of these types of places before. Should mean a quick find. Nope same results as many. Nothing felt or seen. Clearly there are other places you can hide a cache in this type of spot. Another time it seems.

05-May-23
A surprisingly quick find here for me which was a relief TFTC

29-Apr-23
Resident with his dogs appeared, so I abandoned attempt

26-Apr-23
Very pleased to find this one after reading previous comments. It did just kind of find me. Phew! Thanks for all your caches today Trinity NZ

25-Apr-23
DNFed this on a previous visit.
As I was in the area mainly to cache up on new ones in the area and my travels took me past here it was a good opportunity to have another go

I was on the point of giving up again when I happened to look from what turned out to be the appropriate angle. I can identify with the comment in the previous log about "it found me!"

TFTC .

16-Apr-23
Have tried unsuccessfully to find the cache a few days ago. Today I got it straightaway. Nice hide. Thanks for placing the cache

13-Apr-23
Quick and easy

04-Apr-23
A tricky little blighter to spot. The hint does rule out a few places where it cant be. Not sure if I found it, or it found me. TFTC

04-Apr-23
Having come all the way up here for a couple of caches (obsessed? me?) I thought I'd better make it a bit more worthwhile by grabbing a couple of easy-to-get-to caches before heading home. And while this was easy to get to, it was certainly not easy to find. I spent quite a bit of time looking up and under and around (I should have read the T rating to cut down on a lot of options). Finally felt something tucked away there - really sneaky! Signed and replaced and I was on my way again. All good here, and TFTC

27-Mar-23
Had an unsuccessful attempt at this cache a few days ago, so went away to have a think. Read through the logs carefully and put a few facts together; OK, now I think I know what I'm looking for -and sure enough, this time the cache was quickly to hand, signed and returned. Thankyou again TrinityNZ!

24-Mar-23
Nice afternoon bike ride with tmann421 to find a few local caches.
Lost count of the times I circled the shelter.
Finally spotted by tmann421 in a place I had checked numerous times
Log signed and container returned
Thanks TrinityNZ for the placement

24-Mar-23
Small geocaching adventure with woolwood9.

Really appreciate the cache owners effort putting this container out.
We took a while to locate the hide.
SL

*Always the last possible place that you thought you checked at least twice already!!*

19-Mar-23
It's our first time trying geocaching and we couldn't find it, we weren't really sure what to look for.

26-Feb-23
Quick find with eager eyes when there is a few of us

22-Feb-23
Sneaky little hide that almost defeated me! But I kept on hunting and finally succeeded. All good at GZ and TFTC.

19-Feb-23
Over the years, I have seen a few caches published with the same intention as this one. I think less than half have worked as planned - not always the fault of the person who spoils it,

This is the type of location that I don't seem to do well when it comes to finding caches so it was no surprise for me to have to record a DNF here even though I thought I gave it a good go. It is also not unknown for me to immediately find caches when I visit locations for a second look so I hope that turns out to be the case here.

16-Feb-23
A nice quick find. Spotted as I was about to sit down. Funny thing, the school bus stopped while I was sitting there! Thanks for placing your cache.

Ms_KR and I are off for a wee break "up north" and today we cruised around the Kapiti Coast. Cyclone Gabrielle has had little effect here that I can see, though there has been a bit of wind and rain most off the day. Oh and the 6.3 earthquake last night added to the excitement.

Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

13-Feb-23
I was out and about with a few fellow cachers this evening chasing a FTF (which we got) and then we were due to stop and another friend's place for a cup of coffee, so one of them said "can we make a stop on the way?". A stop to look for a cache? Does the pope wear a funny hat?

Two of the four of us had found this cache previously, and were quite happy to watch the other two of us search fruitlessly. Eventually they helped to put us out of our misery with a bit of guidance, which was great as this sure was a tricksy hide.

I figured that the cache title was song-based, but apparently I had the wrong song. I thought it was based on a lyric from "Your Song" by Elton John, but then again, no. At least it wasn't from Val Doonican lol!

Thanks for placing this cache.

13-Feb-23
I was just leaving work Monday night when a new cache appeared up on the Kapiti Coast. So, rather than go home I stopped at my favourite stopping place on the way home and had a look. I got a few ideas, and then dismissed them. I had just got onto what would ultimately be the correct idea when I got a message from the Seagnoid and TwigNZ to say that they had got to the solution and were about to head up to the final location for a find, and were asking me to join them. Which I did.

We also met up with matagouri near the final location and between the four of us, and one single solitary likely place for the cache to be, we soon had it in hand. After that was dealt with, I realised that this recent DNF was close by, so we headed over here for another look.

After my DNF here on Sunday I had spoken to the CO, who I believe was able to stop by some time today and confirmed that the cache was in fact still there. I did feel like a bit of a dummy. So being able to come back so quickly was a good thing. Also, two of the four of us had previously found the cache, so TwigNZ had some backup in case we were not successful, which we were well on out way to being (although we had not and would not have given up). The other two took pity on us and guided us to the correct location. No so much a sneaky hide, but just a difficult one to spot due to the nature of the cache and the environment.

I can confirm it is definitely a Terrain 1.0 as per the detail in robnzh's log below.

Thanks to TrinityNZ for placing and maintaining this cache.

I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.

I was supposed to go to Auckland this weekend, to see a band called Arch Enemy play on Sunday night. Then I was gonna get the 6am flight back home on Monday morning so I could make it to work on time. Then Cyclone Gabrielle decided to come for a visit, and Air New Zealand said no to flying their planes through a cyclone and so I couldn't go, and I was sad.

But then, there was a Geocaching event on that same day complete with five new geocaches being released into the Queen Elizabeth park region, and I was happy.

The event kicked off what ended up being a fairly decent day of Geocaching, with seventeen finds, two DNF's, and one avenged non-attempt.

Sadly, this was one of my DNF's. I did have a decent search of the structure, but failed to find the cache.

It's so important to read the cache page as any experienced cacher should know: some pages may contain important safety instructions or other things one needs to be aware of e.g correct and incorrect access points, times of availability and non-availability etc. and ignoring these may cause issues where for example property owners may be involved. Fortunately ignoring the information in this case doesn't cause such major issues.

I guess the cache is still there as it was found a few days ago but I couldn't spot it: in view of the T1 and wheelchair accessible attribute it should be at about waist height or at least reachable without bending down or reaching very high for the average seated person, I tried that unsuccessfully so widened the search but still to no avail.

05-Feb-23
Well I know this one's not for me since this is quite the fishbowl and not the kind of place I like to cache as a rule. I walked to GZ from a short distance away, had a circumnavigation before having a quick look in typical location for a micro before deciding I'm probably actually look for a nano. Sat down for the briefest of deliberations before putting my hand straight on the cache. That was unexpected. TFTC. It didn't quite feel right when I put it back (aluminium shelter after all) so I hope it's where it should be.

I've only had a handful of FTFs in my time and they've all been accidental and memorable as a result. Consequently, chasing them has no attraction for me whatsoever. I have my opinions about obsessive FTF chasers and, well, let's just say what happened on this cache only serves to validate them.

Caching around Waikanae this afternoon - found this cache after a short search. Signed log, TFTC

25-Jan-23
Notification for this came through and it was on!
Who has time to read the cache page when there is a first to find up for grabs?
For some unknown reason I did this time..... great idea..... then went back to what I was doing.
Yesterday was the day so I drove up and sadly found a whole bunch of muggles sitting waiting for a bus. Really? I didn't even bother stopping.
Parked right beside GZ this evening and spotted the container before I even got out of the car!
I did, honest!
Before I signed the log I purposely spent five or ten minutes searching everywhere just in case there was some other cool thing stashed somewhere. Wink

I have mixed feelings about the use of these containers but in this case I agree with previous comments. I just kinda works
TFTC TrinityNZ

22-Jan-23
Size updated to 'micro' following feedback. I have also updated the hint slightly to make it a bit easier for newer geocachers.

22-Jan-23
(# 7499) A the coast to visit relatives and decided to grab a few caches while here. there were only a few hiding places but it took a second look to actually grab the container. Thanks for bringing me here.

21-Jan-23
Out and about with NZ_B, the seagnoid and TrinityNZ.
Tricksie but simple - loved it. Had CO watching over us as we searched and searched. I'm sure we provided some amusement, lol. Thoroughness won the day. No hints given! TFTC TrinityNZ

21-Jan-23
Great little find.

21-Jan-23
With the CO watching from some distance away we hunted high and low, poking fingers in here and there, feeling surfaces in case the cache was camouflaged when one of use said, ‘Found.’

Out with seagnoid, TrinityNZ and JustLookingOO finding caches today for the DGSc challenge in the West Coast. Kia ora rawa atu for the cache TrinityNZ.

21-Jan-23
I like the sentiment of this cache, and if I lived nearby I would not have been out and about FTFing it. So was a little sad to see it got found by someone with a ton of FTFs under their belt. Hopefully he found this because he hadn't read the cache page. Then again, EXACTLY the same thing happened in Palmerston North a few years back.
But with the FTF gone it is now fair game, so JustLooking00, NZ_B and I turned up with the CO. Trinity stood back and watched from a distance - thank you, TrinityNZ - I have had finds spoiled by COs who were present at the time. Took a while to find. Ah it is one of these - check the difficulty rating - so many hiders get these wrong. Not this time, the CO is spot on. Well done.

20-Jan-23
Took us a while to locate this one. Took our three grandchildren to think outside the square! Well done and thanks for the hide.

19-Jan-23
I came looking for this cache a day or two ago, couldn't spot it (I'm notoriously cache blind). Tonight, after a caching expedition, I returned in the company of flowereydaze and talla64, with the idea that three pairs of eyes are better than one. This turned out to be the case, and the cache container was quickly spotted and extracted. Just had to keep a weather eye for the bus... TFTC!

19-Jan-23
After a caching expedition to the Levitation caches, Talla64, matagouri and I decided to end the day by finding this one. It was certainly a tricky little cache, but we were successful and the log was signed and returned. Fortunately, we were not caught in the act by a bus. Thanks for the cache TrinityNZ.

19-Jan-23
As the FTF has been claimed we thought the other cachers could try their hand at finding. So after success with the Levitation series matagouri, Flowerydaze and I called to collect this. Not an easy find and it was matagouri who spotted it while I felt around the area. TFTC TrinityNZ nice hide.

Found. Full log later.
