Herr Potter and I are staying nearby tonight and headed out for a short walk. We would have never discovered this sequoia if it were not for geocaching. Thanks for sharing it with us! We are heading to the geocaching Mega-Event in Dunedin this weekend. Hope to meet lots of kiwi cachers there!

Not the place I would have expected to find a sequoia! Thanks for coaxing us up here, and pointing us the way to a trail!Frau Potter and I are visiting New Zealand for the first time. Our first week has been cycling from Queenstown on the Around the Mountains cycle track, with various side trips including kayaking in Milford Sound. We are enchanted by the birds, the landscape and the people! This weekend, we will be in Dunedin for the geocaching mega event. Were looking forward to exploring there, too, and hearing lots of geocaching adventure stories!

What a tree-mendous tree. Was it a navigation aid even? it probable is still an informal one still today. The cache was easily located thanks to strange objects lying about . We are in Queenstown for nearly 2 weeks and so i managed to locate a few 0f the newer caches in the area and a few i had not previously got to earlier visits . thank you for this cache . I took several photos also

A nice easy find on our way out of Queenstown today, but what an epic tree! Reminds me of one of my favourite songs, Cathedrals of the Nelder Grove. Absolutely stunning. Unfortunately the logbook was too damp to sign, so photo sent to CO as proof of find. TFTC!

In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.

We also acknowledge the traditional custodians of New Zealand / Aoteroa, as we geocache throughout their land while on holiday.

Called in here to pick up this new cache just on dusk. Will have to come back to see the sequiora properly one day. It definitely has a massive trunk.
Took awhile to spot the disguise in the dull light but Hal2929 yelled got it. Yah. Time to head homewards.
Thanks for the cache

Heading to Cromwell but had to detour to see the tree. We went to Yosemite a few years ago and saw General Sherman. Big tree indeed. Dwarfed little Pengi. Plus we got a {ftf} at 1:15pm. A handy detour. Thanks.
