I was in the area exercising the family dog at the Kariong Dog Park when I decided to see if there were any caches in the area as we weren't ready to end our afternoon. This was on the way home, so off we went. Parked safely on the side of the road about 30 metres away and went for the find. Love it. TFTC

Parked 40m just past the hide on the RHS, walking over and quick look around not seeing anything.
Ok, check the hint, oh, that’s where I need to go.
Climbed down and disappeared from view, until, woah, wait, what….this is sooo cool, fooling me too for a second or two. Great work P3sKy_Geomonkey

Nice one. Log signed with the family

After a wet week we were a bit cautious in this one and it was a bit damp and full of leeches today (my daughter got a ripper at the pipe entrance) so we will come back on a slightly drier day when she is over the trauma

(10 of 11 today - including 5 Adventure Labs)

After some caches today to up the calendar count. Decided I could cherry pick some caches closer to Gosford and augment them with some ALs.

Didn't get everything I wanted - one multi left me unsure. But picked up a puzzle I've had in the back pocket for years, and managed to expunge a previous DNF.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SCTION###
Before heading back towards the motorway, I completed *A Gosford Art Trail* Adventure Lab. That means I snaffled:
# Rotary Fountain
# A Mosaic Mural Project 2010
# Rotary War Memorial fountain
# Rumbalara (Painting)
# Composition (Sculpture)
###END OF ADVENTURE LAB SECTION###
Arrived here and... now where do I need to be? The iPhone wanted me in the middle of the road - I hate that. A scout around and I was presented with an interesting possibility.

So, apart from banging my head on the way to GZ, and the real spiders all over the cache, it was an easy find.
Signed and replaced. Then back to the car. Nice little waterfall here today as well.

Time for one more.

My last cache of a very hit and miss day out caching today and it was a cracker, I parked nearby and walked back, surprised how busy this little road is. then I found where I needed to go and set of, I went from one end to the other turned around and then oh my gosh, I walked under that, went back for another look and was glad I was wearing gloves, very cool indeed. fav point for the laugh and location. Thanks for the cache P3sky tnln replaced as found sl

Wildlife very agitated. A big goanna run like crazy and climbed a tree as soon as she spotted me. Nice hiding!
Thanks P3sKy_Geomonkey for placing Arachnidae Theraphosidae and Rubus laciniatus!

We had seen this cache published, again on a weekend when we were very busy with a sailing regatta, and as soon as we read the name and saw the location we knew exactly what we would be looking for. WE were driving past after maintaining a nearby cache of ours so we just had to take the slight detour..
This one definitely gave us feelings of deja vu, this time only Mrs Shifter ventured into the darkness and MR Shifter turned the car around, by the time he was back the cache had been signed and returned and Mrs Shifter was walking up the road to meet him.
Thanks for another great cache Pesky. FP from us.

That was a great cache, and definitely well protected by flora and fauna. Undecided which side to use for the approach, I soon had my mind made up for me and reluctantly moved to GZ, where I found a top container and cache guardian. Thanks Pesky for this cache, as good as I've seen from you.

A rare F2F. Great hide. Scary! I've never, ever been on this road. Tftc.

Making my way down, I ventured into the underworld whereupon I immediately spotted my quarry. With the log signed (congrats to everyone who beat me to it!), I made my way out but beware, if the arachnids don't get you the thorny vines most assuredly will. In hindsight, this was probably not a cache to attempt wearing only board shorts.

Many thanks for the well-constructed cache.

Second to find. And ahhh, and ouch - I have just looked up what Rubus laciniatus is, and indeed I found some and have some nice long red welts on my legs to prove it! I can't complain though, I was warned! I could have been first to sign this log, but when I saw the e-mail notification I thought I'd finish my coffee, play some Heartstone, feed the dogs and generally muck about, and then I drove off to Kadija Cl, near the entrance to Strickland State Forest. ie the completely wrong spot. [B)] And realised I was almost out of petrol. Man, I am such an unorganised cacher.

So driving back down the hill then back up a different one I came to Kowara Rd (some 6Km away Big Grin ) and said hello to mapsalot who had just found the cache. Nice bloke! Then, making sure to brush past every piece of Rubus laciniatus possible I made my way to GZ. I totally dig the immediate area the cache is in, and how the cache is hidden. Cool! Although it took me way longer that it should have to find the cache. Signed log and replace cache as found. TFTC! Smile

Extra weirdness to report. Surprised Driving up to the wrong area I did notice a couple of police cars driving around, an ambulance, and also some police talking to a lady near a car that looked like it had been recently damaged (ie bits hanging off it). Home now in Narara there are multiple helicopters in the air, one is clearly a Police chopper as a megaphone on it is saying so, saying they are looking for someone of caucasion appearance, black jumper, brown shorts....!!!! So maybe play it a bit safe if out bushwalking / caching today!
