Very very thankful for a simple park and grab on this very wet labour day. Having originally planned to do a further excursion today thwarted by the weather, being able to get this close to home in a park I didn't know about has been a delight. Now back inside to the warm and dry.
The old geocache disappeared so I have replaced it and hidden it in the same location as previously.
Cache location has been mulched recently and after a short search in the rain the cache seems to be missing. I will go back when I can when the weather is better in a week or so and try again to find it. If unable to find it I will replace it within the next two weeks.
Didn't find today but had been freshly mulched so may be gone or hidden beneath it all
i am down in Newlands to help my daughter after her major surgery and so i i had a few minutes to pop out and locate one or two caches and this was reasonably close by. i did not know this park existed up here and i was impressed with it . I had a constant stream of dogs and their owners coming and going so it is a popular place for dog owners . Locating the cache was straight forward esp as the cache was visible and so it was soon signed and replaced with a bit of natural camouflage this time - if the wind does not move it . Thank you for the cache . i took nothing and left nothing
A nice quick find. I hadn't been to Waihinahina Park before, great views. Enjoyed my walk around, including meeting a friendly dalmatian puppy (seems to be a popular place for dog walking). TFTC
**taybee** is caching again with **taybee nz** for the dayQuick find here today All in good order, sign log book as **taybee (** *joint sign* **TB's** or **taybee / nz )** TFTC Cache was found at **13/02/2024 @ 13:59:00**
We had to wait for the Dog's Day Out van to be emptied of its crew of excited dogs before swooping in for the find. Log full. TFTC
Drove on over here this morning to finally get around to picking this one up. A couple of dog-walking muggles were over by the start of the track, but not visible at GZ. Spotted a small thing next to a big thing and soon had the cache in hand. Signed the log and enjoyed the nearby [T with its morning call](https://youtu.be/livR1eNpJq0). All good here, and TFTC.
Found this a while ago but I guess I forgot to log it was thinking about another old cache here and thought I’d check if there were anymore and realised I forgot to mark this one!
Quick find.
Nice views of Matiu.
A few of muggles and canines are around but not near GZ.
Cheers.
Sleepy was here!

Bit muddy for a creep around to the hiding place, but I managed to retrieve and sign in between dog walkers parking. And then took the easy way back. Tftc!
Very wet underfoot in the park today - in fact it was all just one big puddle. However GZ was above water so all was good. Nice quick find - TFTC
I parked in the corner and kept an eye out for muggles. Quick find, thanks AngeSpange, another day towards the July souvenir.
Was able to park in the corner close to the gz which helped hide my activities from the many dog walkers. A quick find, signed in car then back in its place when all clear. Went for a stroll to admire the great views - was the only person who wasn't accompanied by a dog, lol. TFTC AngeSpange
Nice easy find at the end of a morning's play with geohound, and then on we squelched. Tftc
Having had a bit of an overload of real life lately I haven't been able to get out for any geocaches for a couple of weeks. However I was aware that I needed to log at least one at the beginning of May for a souvenir, and this is one I had been saving up for just this type of situation. I knew that the area could get quite busy after work and before it got fully dark, so I waited until it was fully dark and came up hear to find it all clear and the cache was quickly found where I knew it would be.
Thanks to AngeSpange for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.
[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.

The latest of quite a number of caches I have found in this area. I remember coming here many times in the 1980s when it was a tip site, and on a motorcycle it was quite a pleasant ride right through to Horokiwi Road. No problems today, I had my GPSr with me but didn’t turn it on - instead I used my phone for a very quick find in the first place checked. Signed log, TFTC.
Mum is helping me log all my caches that I haven't logged yet.Found with Mum (LL113) and Dad (GNARwhal).
Out and about today with GeoHubby (GNARwhal) and Miss 10 (UnicornLex).
It’s a seriously cold windy day but the location of this cache is quite sheltered. A quick find, but I’m not sure if this type of cache container will last long with this placement option.
I didn’t know there was a doggo exercise area here, might come back with our GeoDog one day soon. Thanks for bringing us up here.

Having a long weekend off work, taking the opportunity to do some Extra Caching Missions (on a particularly windy day) with LL113 and UnicornLex
I have been to this park a few times previously; to give our dog a chance to run around, or to search for geocaches, or to give our dog a chance to run around AND search for geocaches. Today it was a geocaching only visit and I was surprised how many others were here in the dismal weather. My GPSr was in total agreement with the provided coordinates and I was soon putting my name on the logsheet.
Found after a short search. Beautiful day here today. Sorry no time to count anything today. TFTC
9 March 2023 18:06. Last dot day remaining for a traditional cache for me, so have a FP for helping me reach my goal!
Loads of dog walkers here, so felt a touch out of place without a canine companion, but a quick find helped allay that.
TFTC AngeSpange for placing this cache, number 12408 for me.

The Seagnoid is right that about another cache here, in fact to my knowledge there have been at least three in this park at various times though all on the other side of the park.
You will certainly remember if you did the one with the Eclipse tins!
A quick find here, certainly a good idea for the cover provided by a previous finder.
TFTC.

Although I've found several caches around this park I don't recall finding one in this specific zone. Even the ones slightly further afield have been archived which suggests the caches don't have a great lifetime around here. We'll see how this one fares but because this is a dog exercise park odds are a dog will find it eventually. I even saw one sniffing around this one while I was here waiting for the opportunity to find it. Early evening is not a great time apparently going by how busy it was. The cache didn't take too long to find but it did take a while to get the opportunity to put it back. Always good to visit this park so thanks for the new cache.
#12,588. I needed a cache find today and decided to visit this reserve which I have been to previously for geocaching. Parked nearby and made an instant find which is nice for a change. This is a great amenity reserve close to the city yet it feels more remote. Second to visit today. Signed the logsheet and replaced the cache as found. Thanks AngeSpange for hiding your cache here.
Found while doing some weed control in the reserve, have to placed a rock just infront of it to hide it a bit more
Joint {FTF} with Mr-Mcgoo and the Seagnoid at about 8:15pm, and a First Day Find.Funnily enough I had already been in Petone this evening, and had not long been back home when my flatmate calls out "going to get it?". Damn, another cache released and I hadn't seen the notification. Righto, on with the shoes and back out the door again!Soon enough we are heading south on SH2 doing 100, and before too long we are pulling into a carpark I've never been to before. Mr-Mcgoo's car is already there, and we were able to have a few laughs and a catch up with him whilst signing the logsheet. I'll have to come back here again during daylight to fully appreciate this park. I used to have dogs myself, so I know what it's like to remember their favourite places. Thanks for bringing me here tonight.
The phone goes ping and TwigNZ and I are out the door in three minutes. Okay, maybe five. I called out to our local group on the way but they were mostly busy and unable to join in. A bit of a surprise when our resident FTF hound said he would not be joining in. Mr McGoo did join in and got to GZ just before Twig and me. Didn't take long to find the cache - it was where Mr McGoo hadn't yet checked (well, duh!) and had one of those nice pristine empty log sheet thingies. Sweet! [FTF]! Bit of a chat and then a trip back home. Why do I have the feeling I have cycled here before? Was there a cache here once before?
Joint {FTF} 8.14pm. Was at home relaxing when suddenly my geo phone went ping. Ah a new cache I see and not to far away. Less than a km, so off I go. I know the area well so no problem. In the fading light I am scrambling around when a familiar vehicle comes screaming down the hill and parks up next to my car. Out hops TwigNZ and The Seagnoid. Was greeted with a nice blank log so all was cheerful. Chatted for a few minutes then off we parted.
Thanks for placing the cache.
