Passed a what? 600m? road works on the way here. That's 600m of cars not being able to pass. I held them up a little, but on the way back the southerly meant I was flying down the road, the cars going considerably slower. I can't imaging I was doing much faster than the 30km posted limit, so maybe they were much slower. Or a bunch of them pulled off???Anyhoo, I got to GZ, and noted a lot of penguin condos. Hoped the cache is not in one of those. It isn't. Nice hide. Back on the bike I continued on the little path but after 20m the path was blocked off. More sea wall works! Had to cycle back to the driveway entrance then wait ages before a break in the traffic let me back onto the road.Just one more to go!---Yay for summer! And that means longer bike rides after work! So even though there is a slight southerly blowing, I decided to head south to Easbourne, prompted by some maintenance I did on another of this series this morning. Lots of big road works - sea wall works - along the way. Much of the route along the coast was single lane. I came down to target three of these Lower Hutt "... is for..." caches. Found them all and that means... um... only "M" to go! I wonder if I can get that this week?

Nice quick find with little blue hen. Had a chat to some older muggles who were fascinated by our crazy hobby. Clever hide. Inserted a new waterproof log sheet but signed old one. LBH will add a favourite from us both. Tftcsl

As we arrived we initially thought an older trio of Maori muggles were sitting at our destination. Not so as the GPS said otherwise. Stopped and chatted at this delightful group and when they asked what we were doing we explained. They were fascinated by the container and wanted to know how they could find out more. After recruitment bkj97 signed for us and inserted a new waterproof log. T4tcsl and favourite added from us.

#2720. L is for Lovely (the day and the hide). Today was a lovely sunny Sunday afternoon, so GB Leader & I had a pleasant drive around the sparkling harbour to Eastbourne. I took the chance to add to my numbers of the A-Z of Lower Hutt finds, which I am (very slowly) knocking off. This was the second of todays 2 finds, bringing my total to 7 of the series. Lovely spot here with the canoes and people fishing. Nice easy find.Tftc ThatDarnBear.

A perfect day for this cache. Driving past it was a no brainer to pull in here today. Sun shining off the water and two caches to be found. Great hide LL113 loved it. Bit of activity down by the water but no problems here as I sat to contemplate the view. I really must start finding the rest of the missing alphabet. TFTC.

Great location and an awesome hide here too, FP incoming.Following a recent few weeks apart whilst I headed overseas with work, we'd agreed, and booked a few days in Wellington to see out the last of an indian summer/long hot Autumn! We had a couple of nights at a work apartment on/near Cuba St and was able to complete, and/or further on some Ad Lab series, as well as some further physical caches. We met up with daughter on Sunday and enjoyed some nice settled weather and temperatures whilst visiting. Thanks to all COs for their hides and maintenance.

I was catching up with a friend (JUS3) this evening, and she suggested we have another crack at looking for a previous DNF on Port Road. Flushed with success at avenging that DNF, Having just found another cache a little further along towards Eastbourne, we decided to 'just get 1 more' and came along to this one.An instant find of the nicely worked cache hide. I signed us both in and then replaced it all as found.Thank you for setting this one up. Gets a FP.

What a clever hide! Thanks for the mahi behind this one. First in this series for me as was in the area for a lunch break.

#13,534. I remember doing another cache here in the past. Not in the exact same place however and this one was done so much better, In fact it will get a favourite from me. Wandered up and had a quick look at the lower levels and soon had the cache in hand. Nice one. Much faster than the 15 mins spent on my DNF down the road. Thanks for hiding it here LL113.

Decided to make some time for caching before the event organised by the Seagnoid and this was one of them. Teamed up with Flowerydaze to do some more of the A-Z of Lower Hutt in an area that brought back lots of memories of fishing with our boys. Neat hide deserves a FP

Talla64 and I are slowly working our way through the A-Z of Lower Hutt and have very few left to find, an enjoyable series. This area has some good memories for Talla and me. When we live in Wainuiomata many many years ago we used to have a boat which we launched at this boat ramp, and would take our 2 sons fishing in the harbour, and over to Ward Island for a picnic. Thanks very much for a nicely crafted hide in another nice spot LL113. FP awarded.

A nice (if not a bit breezy) morning with a few people fishing and a few more sitting in their cars filling in time. Didn't take too long to track this down. Unfortunately there's a bit of water in the outer container - perhaps a hole drilled in the bottom may help it drain? TFTC

A bit annoyed to have missed the other cache down at the other end of the park - I was too focused on my 'series not completed' list to notice it at the time. Another visit may be in order.

All quiet here in a drizzly morning. Enjoying finding your well crafted caches LL113, a favourite added.

With nineteen of the twenty six A-Z of Lower Hutt series already out there, I decided tonight was the night to catch up with the ones I had not yet found so that I was ready for the final seven when they arrive. I short drive around the bays to Rona Bay, then up to Naenae and across to Kelson. Done and home in time for dinner.

All quiet in the area tonight, although someone is using the area to park there long boats. The cache was found safe and dry in the obvious place. I like the work that has gone into making this one.

Thanks to LL113 for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.

L cache in Lower Hutt by LL113. So many L's!

After my encounter with a yeti at the V cache I headed over toward the bays of Eastbourne to have look for this where the likelihood of a "muggling" should be much lower (one might even say "much lowery" if one was inclined to force a pun that doesn't quite work). It was yet another calm and warm evening (what's going on with this unusual winter?!) and there were fabulous night views of Wellington from here. I knew where I would be heading and with such a low chance of being observed here I was much less impeded in my searching than usual which meant spying the cache quite quickly. But what have we here? This looks unusual. I examined how it was made and as someone who likes to make caches somewhat similar in nature I was impressed with the novel way this one worked. This one gets an FP from me for the great location, total lack of stealth requirement and the well-made cache. That's basically the holy trinity as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for putting in the effort for caches like this - it makes the finds so much more rewarding.

Only Q remains for me at this point and, for reasons which can inferred from the above, that situation is likely to remain unchanged.

This can be a busy place during summer, we quite often come here to have a cuppa and enjoy the views. It was pretty quiet today though. Located the cache after a bit of groping around. Another nicely concealed hide. TFTC

FTF@1104!

Saw the notifications and thought "why not?", especially as I'll still need to find a few caches this week for the Solistice Souvenir. So jumped in the car and headed on out. Got to GZ where I spotted a couple of cars, but they were on the jetty. Headed on over to where I thought the cache was hiding and had a bit of a feel around without success, before actually checking the GPS and seeing I was still about 20m away - ah, that one, then.

Got to the proper place and after a bit of hunting I spotted something suspicious - clever wee hide (although it might be a good idea to put in a couple of drainage holes in the outer to prevent "drowning". I'm not sure why the manufacturers have started using this shape as it's a bit thinner than the regular and so it's a bit trickier to get the log out - heightening the suspence of whether it turns out to be an FTF. But I was glad to see that it was in this case - my 20th for the month!

Signed and replaced, and headed back out, expecting to see a certain vehicle on the way in. An absolute gorgeous day, with the water almost as flat as a mill pond. All good here, and TFTC+FP
