Great hide, definitely a bit too easy with the description, made it less obvious to intrigued muggles though!
The cache is well protected from the elements. Cachets beware. There are a couple of wasp nests on the next fence. Tftc
A nice quick park and grab here. The trickiest part was finding a park as the roads were crazy busy with Xmas shoppers. TFTC
**19,280**This is a nice spot to sit, we are happy to say we, came, we saw and we saved (and by saved I mean logged) the chicken - our chickens would be so proud. TFTC
I remember finding the original one that was much harder to remain inconspicuous. Quickly found them cleaned the bit of rusty attached to the magnet prior to replacing. TFTC
I had a half day at work today and the weather was too good to head right home, so decided to grab a cache and some pub grub nearby.Upon arriving at GZ it was pretty quiet and I soon spotted a likely area. One quick check and the cache was in hand and the log signed. All in good condition. Tftc #1620
We met up with Team Welsh this morning to make a few cache finds. Parked and wandered along to GZ. A nice quick find and a brief sit-down to enjoy the view. Thanks.
Managed to find some parking down a side street and met up with Mr KC here to find another cache on this side of the motorway. Another cache that was quickly found and quite a nice spot to sit and watch all the traffic. TFTC
So the plan was to come over the Shore for my cache for the day. I knew I could catch the 133 bus that passes by my street, caught that into downtown, then I sussed out the 97R that could bring me to this cache, that left across the rd on Quay St by the ferry building, and I got off in the Birkenhead shops, almost right outside the bus stop there is a cafe called Cafe47, had myself toasties and a coffee there.
Then it was time to go and find myself a cache so wandered up to this one. Took me a minute to find the hide, once you know what you're looking for, then once signed in, I wandered back across the road to the main shops and caught the 933 bus that heads to Auckland Uni.
Got off downtown and walked up Hobson, and at the start off the route 133, there were a heap of drunk regulars that occupied the bus stop and everyone was avoiding them. I even had to walk away from the bus stop to get the bus, and found out the driver had been intimidated by them before and apologised she couldn't get closer to the stop. Made it home without any more trouble after that.
Very pleasant trip, got my first ever photo shot of downtown from a bus once on the harbour bridge, have driven across the harbour bridge just once that I recall in driver training when I used to be a bus driver, but today also first time I have been a passenger on a bus going over the bridge, so all that was quite fun for me.
Thanks G for the hide today.

We attempted this cache later in the day and with lots of traffic we had given up and decided we would try on another day however as luck would have it on our way back a carpark was available near GZ so we stopped off and collected before heading back to our accommodation. Found with Lis's Crew at the end of a sunny winters day. TFGC
The plan this weekend was to head to Auckland Friday evening with Yvettetb. Saturday we had a lovely day caching around the Northcoate area with great Harbour Bridge views from all over the place. Sunday we went geocaching in the Riverhead/Kumeū area before heading north again.
We came here near the end of our day. Parking was initially a problem but once we turned around and were heading home we spotted one. Just had to save this chicken, well actually, I just wanted another smile on my map. Sorry chicken, but I rather enjoy KFC, so if that was the choice, you'd be a gonna. Thanks for the cache that's now got me dreaming of a delicous feed of chicken

Out and about giving the elder future finder a driving practice while running a couple of errands. I took the opportunity to navigate out this way so that I could get a cache for the day. We parked up nearby and I leaped out and was quickly at ground zero where I made a super quick find. It was many moons ago that i found the previous hide. Cheers for the cache placement!
I found the original chicken some time ago, and today I crossed the road to see where it had gone.
Had a few errands to do on the North Shore today....so obviously I searched up for any nearby unfound Geocaches!
Easy find here thanks!
Parking wasn't too bad.....

8.01AM and a new cache comes out… {FTF} 10.14 talking with AlunB yesterday for a catch up in town (possibly) for today around 11.00ish before he heads to his new home base for a while. So this pings, at the above-mentioned time. Im a few k’s away and some mystery illness has me hampered again– no chance! Bugger well thought about the 97R at 8.05 to head to Highbury but nah KS19 would get it first so left it. On the 9.55 bus to town and get near the GC location on the way still no finds had been logged. Saw the 917 that came from Albany so thought Alun may have been on it-NUP (if he had we would have caught up exactly the same time) and being a dot day for me and a relatively fine day for this time of the year decided to ATHOP off and and make the way to Gc. Made my way gingerly and what a blank log. Manged to put a note on the phone but then the batteries died out. Caught up with AlunB about 11.00 bang on time in town but thought Id be late-so apogised to him, asked if he had seen the publication, he thought Id get it first then we reminisced about it. Then after a beverage (hopefully not the last) we headed to NSA HQ so Alun got nab the cache and me10.12 to celebrate-first cache in about 2-3 months a dot day and an RTF or FTF to boot.
Saw this one published but wasn’t willing to miss Pilates class for the possible FTF so I made do with a 2TF. I’d been telling the Pilates mates about geocaching so I managed to bring 3 of them along for a demo. An easy find with the hint. Thanks G2
Caught up with Andy in the city, and we decided to head back to NSA HQ for a quiet one, obviously I made a point to grab this cache on the way, cheers mate
