This is almost the twin of the other one at the other end of town. Nice hide here and replaced as found after signing in.A trip down the line to Wellington for a series of meetings tomorrow meant a mini road trip after a weekend spent with my family, which was nice. All too soon it was time for my daughters to head back to their respective homes, and I was ready to head south by mid afternoon. Just over a half dozen finds then a new Ad Lab in Silverstream to finish the day off. Thanks to all COs.

On our way to Wellington, hubby added the scooters and grabbed some on our way down, thankfully with stunning weather. Thanks for the placement and the mix-up of hide types.

A quick find while in the area. Thanks for placing the cache

After finding a similar cache in the town a little earlier, this was a very quick find in the first place checked. Thanks very much for the cache.

#9 very cute. Another unique container

I walked to this one and a cluster or nearby one before driving down to Te Horo for a proper assault on the trail by bike. Having been to the northern sister of this the first thing I tried was looking in the same place as that cache. Nope. But how about this similar location? Yep. I wasn't quite sure how it was staying there but it did indeed stay there on return. Hard to tell if that's working as intended or whether something is broken. Anyway, cache signed and back where it was. TFTC.

(# 8471) Such a fine day and a bit of a conundrum. Do chores around the house or grab some caches. Decided to walk the cycle/walkway between Peka Peka and Otaki. A quick find ensued. A lovely little spot to sit and watch the traffic go by. I loved the variety in cache hides. Thanks tmann421 for bringing me here.

Another drive down to Otaki area for more caches. Very windy in Palmerston when I left, but no wind down here. Favorite point from me. Thanks tmann421 for the cache.

16-Oct-23
Seeing that the wind had dropped a tad today and after I had the toilet fixed up on my snail shell I decided to go for a wee bike ride to sign off a few caches. The PP2O cycleway/walkway trail was selected. I was going to start at Peka Peka Rd but there's not an offramp northbound - DANG! Ah well, I just have to start at the Otaki end and head south.I started with with this by parking the cachemobile on the side of the road and dashed across to the GZ. I thought this one was precariously placed. Hope it stays in place.Cheers for the cache, tmann421.

What a neat sculpture! Wish it wasn't raining so I could have gotten a better read of the sign. All good here. Tftc!

25-Sep-23
I stayed in the car as the road was a bit narrow and the kerbing too high to drive up while IF2020 did the hunting. Actually I neednt have worried as there were no cars on the road. I do like the art work -stands out.Out and about the area with Itchyfeet2020 -as usual lots of laughter going on!Kia ora rawa atu for the cache tmann421.

24-Sep-23
Nice one - initially missed this and came back to it on our return leg. Thanks tmann421 for placing all these cool caches along the new walkway/ cycle-trail. We enjoyed our ride from Otaki to Peka peka (and back), and had lots of fun along the way.Sadly I don't have enough favourite points to allocate one to each cache, but this trail deserves more! Time for another caching adventure with NZ_B. A event in Levin to celebrate daylight savings seems like a reason to head out for the day. It was now time to head home via a few of these new caches on the expressway. A great hide - I tried a couple of other spots first before cottoning on to the hide. Nicely done - thank you tmann421.

16-Sep-23
Seeing double here as I had done the northern equivalent a few hours earlier.

A quick easy find.

I went south to do some other caches and on my way back two ladies on bikes were at GZ, I'm waiting for any upcoming online logs to see whether they were cachers!

TFTC.

This is a similar sculpture to the one on the north end of Otaki and we visited this one first . A trip down this way was planned several weeks ago and then the event came out the day after our planned event so it was decided that we would skip the event and just do our day out caching instead and then . . . . . . the plan all had to change due to sickness so i decided i would still go down to the event and do some of the other caches as i past . I contacted a different cacher and we set of fairly early this morning to locate some caches and then go on to the event at pekaPeka . . .
It is interesting to see this new road running some of the way along the eastern side of the new expressway where these and other caches are now hidden .
Thank you for this newer cache .

I travelled south today with haydn.seek primarily to attend the Kapiti Geocachers Return of the tmann421 Event, but naturally we fitted in as much other caching as possible - mostly ones along the Expressway Cycling/Walking trail.
We had a very successful day - it was lovely Spring weather and we achieved all the finds we wanted.
Having previously visited the southern gateway at Otaki it was good to meet its twin to the north. The sculptures are impressive and it's good to read the information about them as well. The hides were twins too. Smile TFTC tmann421 Smile

#2572. Heading home to Welly before the rain, I detoured slightly to pick this cache up. Easy find. Interesting sculpture.

Figured where I would put it but a bouncy GPS led the hunt astray. After a few more minutes, gut feeling triumphed. TFTC.

Happy to stop and admire our local sculpture finally in the flesh and it did not disappoint - A couple of people around so did an eye scan in the meantime could find anything however I thought to look in a place that was obvious to me and sure enough -Success! Neat little cache (my favourite kind! )

I have noticed this sculpture while driving the Expressway so it was good to stop here and view it while biking the PP2O expressway path. All was quiet here and the neatly hidden (and well themed!) tiny container was quickly located. A favourite added, thanks tmann421.

02-Jul-23
Came looking along the cycle trail as a strategy for shaking off the effects of the night before. A clear breezy morning. A couple of cyclists at the sculpture, so lurked further along the track until they'd gone, then came back. Quick find in the first place I looked. Tftc!

I enjoyed a pleasant hour caching in the sunshine here this morning. No worries here. TFTC

21-Jun-23
The weather was perfect, so I came for a bike ride along here to score the new bunch of caches recently published. The coordinates were a few metres out here, but a bit of intuition enabled me to find the cache in only a minute or so. An elegant sculpture and interesting history, thanks for showing me this. Signed log, TFTC.

Eldest son rostered home today so his turn to come out for a few caches with me. Have driven past this sculpture lots of times but not actually been to it before (although we had visited the other one further north). I like the way it looks when lit up at night. Wonder when the time capsule will be opened? Nobody else around when we visited and a nice quick find. TFTC

A great spot to stop, have a quick snack and drink, admire the sculpture and the completed pathway; and a nice quick find. Thanks tmann for placing this cache here.

18-Jun-23
After the event, "Kapiti Geocachers June Event" Flowerydaze and I decided to spend the day looking for these 18 caches. So much variety and variation in the different caches made this an enjoyable and adventurous exercise, no two were the same. This one was just hanging on and is in danger of falling from its perch.
Thanks for the caches tmann421 and for putting on the event.

18-Jun-23
After finishing my walk this morning, I had a coffee and a bit of lunch before getting the bike out to grab a few more of the new caches that came out after the event yesterday.
There were muggle cyclists here when I went past the first time, but the coast was clear on my return journey.
The cute little cache was quickly found.
Thanks for putting this here

I'm so pleased there's a cache placed near this sculpture. I've passed it so many times and meant to stop and investigate. Lovely sculpture, and the plantings are doing well. Thanks for bringing us here tmann421.

Having been up in Wanganui for the weekend (as I often am) I had missed out on the mad rush of the many first to finders after the local event here on Saturday. However, as my Sunday got off to an early start, and the weather was acceptable, I spent my afternoon driving and walking my way down the pathways here to collect all these newly published geocaches. Lots of good hides, and a fun afternoon finding them all.

---
Thanks to tmann421 for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.

#14,034. Joint {FTF} and first day find. After attending the great Kapiti Geocachers June Event ???? in Waikanae, we car pooled with the Seagnoid to have a go at finding a number of the 18 newly published geocaches in the afternoon. After a bite to eat in Otaki, we parked on Old Hautere Road in Hautere for a walk and grab. Fortunately GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Quick find. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log (as HS for huhugrub and (the) Seagnoid). Thanks for the geocache placement, and for bringing us to this site, and .T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e..M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.

TFTC tmann421 for placing this cache, number 12691 for me. Starting to head back now and the light is fading, but a joint FTF was very welcome

Joint FTF with the others who attended the Kapiti Geocachers June Event today, but actually first to sign the log as Five Go Fishing (shortened to 5GF), comprising myself, barefootguru (with the Wattmobile), Infoferret, GSEL, and CrystalFairy on an FTF mission, determined to pick up all the new caches today.

Starting to get a bit dark now. A bit of looking and eventually got my hands on the cache. All good here, and TFTC.

Joint FTF. After the event today 18 new caches were released allowing joint first to finds for those attending if they found them today. Our group consisted of BFG, Crystal Fairy, Infoferret, GSEL and Bruzie. Managed to get all 18 caches in just over 2.5 hours. We logged our finds under the name 5GF today (Five Go Fishing). Caching started in good weather and light, but by the end was in the dark by torch light. Thank tmann421 and woolwood9 for placing all these caches.

Quick find #12 today. Driven past here many times but never stopped to look or take photos. GOt the opportunity today whilst grabbing a FTF

#12,996. Joint {FTF}. The event hosted by woolwood9 released 18 new caches and offered joint first to finds for those attending if they found them today. Our carload of BFG, CrystalFairy, Infoferret and Bruzie headed up here in BFG's electric car. We parked nearby and wandered over to the interesting sculpture. The sun was setting at the time and the violet lighting made the sculpture look like something that had dropped in from outer space. Quick find of the cache by Bruzie. Using our team name of 5GF today in a nod to Enid Blyton "Five Go Fishing". Replaced the cache as found. Thanks tmann421 for hiding caches in this area. Favourite for a memorable feature along the expressway.

About two weeks ago we came out this way for a new cache, missed out by just 20 minutes. But once found we thought there might be worth exploring other areas, and came here to look for a cache - maybe to find one before it had been published...

Alas, not to be. But here we are now, and this cache *is* in one of the places we looked last time! Found with some of the team from an event ealier today. To save space I and Huhugrub signed our names as HS.

I had been waiting eagerly for one to pop up here, but alas I watched the FTF go while I was stuck at work in Palmerston North this afternoon! A quick stop on the way home... took only moments to find and sign without any interruptions. It appears I missed the previous cacher by only 5 minutes!
Thanks for the cache tmann. We will be off on a bike ride south of here in the morning to collect the others that popped up today
