Like many others, I've been chasing caches with off-road attributes this month. Yesterday, domsky suggested to me that I should come and get the sailing boat caches with that attribute. So last night I sat down and nutted my way through the necessary puzzles, knowing that Sunday would be a good day to come and look for them. GeoM decided to join me this afternoon and we had a fun afternoon finding caches and exploring the area. When we got out of the car, GeoM was quick to locate the letterbox and he thought he knew what the number would be but he couldn't get the lock to open. I suggested he try a few different possible numbers but none of them worked. Then I had a go, turning the numbers ever so slightly and hoping the lock might open. After fiddling with it for about 20min I realised I was being eaten by sandflies so I sent the CO a message and we moved on to the next cache. When he confirmed that we had the right numbers I came back and tried again for another 10min but it was getting late and I was getting eaten so I decided to leave it for another day. Maybe if the wind changes it will work better for me.

09-Nov-24
Mr Domsky did the honours with this one. We knew what numbers were needed to open the box, but just as well it wasnt a real emergency as it took a little while to persuade the lock to open for us. All good in the end. Thanks chamad Domsky

Nice quick find this morning. Thank you, chamad, for placing this cache..

Out and about with Kolour after the CITO collecting some of the sailboat caches, many of these have an attribute required for another challenge this month. We headed to gz where I quickly spotted the hidden letterbox. I did have a little trouble with the lock, Kolour sorted it quickly - must have been standing on the wrong foot! Log signed, all replaced as found. Thanks chamad for the cache, enjoying collecting more of this series.

Headed out with a couple of my best geo buddies whom live local who graciously have their time to transport me around the sailboat series.Smooth sailing for a SundayThanks CHAMAD for creating, placing and maintaining for our enjoyment.

A trip to Brisbane for work gave me a bit of time for caching as well. Always great to visit Brisbane and to explore the area using caching as a guide. Found this cache on 24 October 2024 at3:49PM Thank you chamad for placing and maintaining this cache for everyone to find. Tftc

2765 - I am glad to see that I am not the only one who has had some problems opening this cache, but with a little perseverance, I got there in the end. I headed out to grab a few of the Sailing Boat Geoart series that I had managed to solve this afternoon, as Sunday is definitely the best day of the week to move around this area. This is the fifth of seven I grabbed this afternoon, with my note being made in the log book at 2:32pm. Thanks for placing this one here and of course for the great geoart series chamad. Favourite point added for being to hide a great letterbox cache in this location.

So needing some caches with particular attributes to complete a challenge this was the target for today.Initially went to the wrong spot, but after fixing that mistake we were soon at GZ. Quickly located the cache and set about opening. Like others, had an issue unlocking the the cache, but after a closer inspection saw what need to be done.Access made and log signed. Enjoyed this one, so a favourite from me.Back in a few days for a couple more.TFTC

The evil genius known as chamad strikes again! What a strange place for a letterbox, but there it was. It reminded me of another of this COs Letterboxes, which has unfortunately needed to be archived.I had trouble getting into the cache even though there was only one or two possible solutions that I thought it could've been. I wiggled and I jiggled, I pushed and I pulled, but I still couldnt get in. Nevertheless, I got in one way or another. I took the four travel bugs and signed the log.Ive been on a mission around the area today. My mission was to find a pile of these little Sailing Boat caches in the time that I had. Of course, Saturday is a much better day to cache around this area. Ive never been around here before, and it was interesting, but not surprising, the amount of history and industry here.Thank you chamad for another fun cache.

15-Sep-24
I'll say it again . . . Sunday afternoon around this part of town is so peaceful and muggle-free. Cache was a quick find, signed the log and hit the road.

03-Sep-24
Who can resist the lure of a large cache? Not us. Crikey, that took us a while to work out how to release the cable. We knew we had the correct code. Easy really. All is good here. Thank you.

25-Aug-24
Over visiting from NZ and using the time to do as much caching as other commitments allow. Today I had teamed up with GEM_54 to try and knock off as many of the sailboat series as possible.I'm certainly glad we chose a Sunday to do these ones, as the area was almost deserted and so parking near GZ's was never a problem, but I can imagine how busy it would be on a week day, with lots of workers and heavy traffic. On a roll now. Getting used to the CO's hides and managing nice quick finds and no dnf's yet. A little bit of a problem for the Aussies getting into the cache here, so it was a Kiwi to the rescue ... . Looks like it should be a secure spot to drop some TB's and gets a FP from me. TFTC

25-Aug-24
We soon found what we were after . We quickly worked the code out,but it took three of us to work out how to get the cable to let go. Peter to the rescue. Signed log and returned things to normal. AFP from us.

04-Aug-24
We arrived in Brisbane from down south today and are looking forward to doing some caches in warmer weather. For this trip we are predominately looking for Adventure Labs, Earth caches and Virtual's as we have no muggle problems with them and a few other selected caches. We enjoyed the read on the cache page on this one, ebenthough we aren't that keen of swimmers. We still decided to head out to gz and have a look at what was on offer,We pulled up near gz and didn't need a gps to locate the container but it took us a little while to add our name to the log even though we knew what we had to do we think that the salt air may have had something to do with our problems but happily we can say our name has been added to the log book and everything returned as found. Thanks again for the cache for another great cache in this series, a favourite point from us.

21-Jul-24
Having dropped a family member off at the airport, I figured I may as well do some caching while in the area. Plus being a Sunday guaranteed that the area would be deserted. Well hidden in plain sight. Not much muggle activity in the area on a Sunday, so easy to access without fear of being observed. TFTletterboxC. TNLN. SL. 7/7/2024 Find #7077Pprime had suggested a few weeks ago the idea of us working on the sailboat puzzle caches out this way. So, as it was holiday time, I figured I could put a little of the grey matter to work and see what I could come up with. And between us we did pretty darned well, I will say. So it was decided that today he and T4mmmy would collect me and we would take a trip over here to claim everything we could, getting me out and about for the last day of my break, before the rude return to work tomorrow. This was a cute find, tho did take a moment or two to get it open (possibly user error or the elements taking their toll on the mechanism a little) here today. Thanks for the cache chamad.

12-May-24
Accio 15:24:04A quick run out this arvo with T4mmmy and Suki-hound - moreso for a leg stretch, but also seeking decent sized caches to leave some well traveled trackables in. Not having ventured into the puzzles of this series yet - but this one was doable on the fly. Found the container with ease, and no worries getting in. A great construction to visit. Thanks chamad for entertaining me at this location.Cool *{Overall find #12519}* Cool

Out and about for our second day of caching on the northside and today's area was over near the airport. Quite a variety to keep us busy and we were able to keep out of the showers most of the time later in the day. Thanks to all the COs.

Crew 153, Mrs Crew and NobbysNuts hit the road to find a few caches on Leap Day. We had targeted some of the caches in this series.Boy, the traffic along this road is heavy. The cache was quickly found but we had to wait for a while to get a gap in the traffic to pull out.TFTC chamad

Spent a few hours out here collecting caches this morning. Had some trouble with a few due to the recent rain, but Ardom brought his kayak boots and happily sloshed through the puddles A nice variety of caches collected so far. Im looking forward to coming back to collect the rest! TFTPuzzles and caches!

A new year and I am still going out caching just before 2am in a big truck. Smile Luckily there is plenty of parking available around here. SmileA quick find for me this morning. CoolAnd now my name is on the log sheet. Big GrinThanks for the cache.

I had an afternoon free today so headed over to find a few more of Chamad's Sailboat Art. After the downpours almost all day yesterday, today was a lovely fine day and remarkably quiet for such an industrial area. A favorite point here because this one made me laugh, after I shrieked Thanks for find #5294TNLN

20-Dec-23
Thought this was going to be a DNF. Lock is not easy to open. The ants have been busy too, but they do not seem to like one of the containers, so the log is ant free. Cool Took some of the TBs that were here. I do like letterboxes that are actually letterboxes. Another favourite point for this one. [^]

Mrs Woodyrothwell is a prep teacher and one of the presents she got at the end of the year was a drink bottle set. That doesnt sound all that amazing until you realise that this is a branded drink bottle. Someone has worked out how to brand a drink bottle and charge everyone ten times the amount as a regular one. I want to call it Dunes and Greene (which I know is a Prosecco) but Im sure Green is in the title. The funny thing is that this water bottle also comes with its own set of instructions. I thought water bottles only had two instructions: fill and drink. Even then we couldnt work out how to make it drink. Why that is relevant is because this hide also needs its own set of instructions. After finding it, nothing I could do would make it open. I went back to the brains trust and told her it was finally time to get out of the car. In other words I had to admit (again) my own ineptitude. At least this time even she couldnt make it open. She started reading some old logs and told me I would have to jiggle it, like some boys jiggle their leg when having a pee. I said whoa, who needs to jiggle their leg with penis in hand?. She said that apparently a lot of prep boys have to jiggle in the toilet. I was then worried why she was watching young men evacuating their bladder at school. After a lot of jiggling the lock finally came free. Suddenly I felt the urge to pee.I always write logs after a few beers but for some reason this one is appearing in a bold font. In case it comes out this way, Im not shouting, I just really need a visit to the urinal and shake a leg shake. tftc

A delightful cache to find. Sadly the ants have moved into two of the containers here but the one with the logbook was safe and sound. TFTC

Back from our cruise and stopped off for this one. Lucky no emergencies while we were cruising. Thanks chamad and fav point

26-Nov-23
Out today to make another dent on the little sail boat geoart. I collected 11 smileys on a very quiet Sunday. A weekend is most definitely the best time to be here. After several attempts at releasing the lock a PAF provided a tip that helped. With the log signed and two TBs dropped it was onwards to the next one. Fav point awarded. TFTC

Chasing numbers and attributes so this area fit the bill nicely, just had to hope the rain held off. Pulled right up next to the cache and after a bit of fiddling with the lock we had the cache opened. Nice addition to the geoart.Tftc chamadFind #4841

This morning sees me heading back to the airport for the 3rd time in under a day to collect some colleagues travelling in for a conference. Of course I decided to depart early, knowing I had plenty of caches to keep me occupied until they arrived.Having knocked off my 3 target caches for the morning I found myself with more time to spare so checked the map to see what was nearby, appealing and achievable. A large, letterbox definitely ticks those boxes do I set off here hoping for a quick find. Again, the rain was working against me as I contended with puddles and falling rain while trying to jiggle the lock. Eventually got it sorted and was in the log, all returned as found. TFTC.

GCA9ZTN #24 Sink or SwimThis series was solved a while ago. Que Sera suggested that we (KerriMG, Que Sera and me) head out to collect the attributes required for the November challenge this Sunday morning. Alarm was set for stupid oclock but thanks to shift work I woke up bright up nice and early anyway. It wasnt hard to locate the cache. The lock took a bit of wiggling to unlock and then I handed it over to Que Sera to do the signing duties. A giggle was had on the opening. TFTC chamad

19-Nov-23
Today KerriMG, Nikid1 and i had hatched a plan to find some off road caches for the November challenge by georode. We arrived at GZ and spotted the cache. I thought we might have needed to ring ghost busters to open the cache but nikid1 was on to it and what a fun surprise when we opened it. Loved this cache and giving it a FP for all the fun.

19-Nov-23
I had solved many of this series, some easy and some hard, a couple of months ago. Wanting to find a certain attribute this month for a challenge, I drove out here early hoping to avoid too many people. As it turned out, it was a very busy day as there is a cruise ship at the terminal and lots of fishermen at various locations. At at a few of the caches I bumped into nikid1, KerriMG and Que Sera who had the same idea.I was able to park in the shade right at the letterbox - closest I've ever parked to a cache! Cute cache and guardian. Tftc

My oldies had decided they wanted to play Russian Roulette on a floating Petri dish. Who was I to deny them the chance of a case of covid or a bout of weebum? So I did the honours and dropped them off to their inevitable doom at the port. So long suckers Bon voyage! With that out of the way I had a short amount of time to grab a couple of the nearby caches on the way home. Pulling up at GZ it took no time to discover this mailbox and seeing as it wasnt the Ghostbusters I was allowed to call I decided on the logical number. Woop, there it is, I was in.Some scribble left on the log and I continued on. Thanks for the cache chamad Big Grin

Over the last week IolantheK and me have looking out towards the bay at a little sailing boat with no smilies We decided to try and light it up (well mostly, a few challenges have remained dark )Some were easy, whilst others weren't so much harder but took a while to decode, whilst others required one to get into the mind of the CO In the end I think we managed to solve all but three without assistance (Me thinks some puzzling may require a psychiatry degree, as IolantheK says "purple because aliens" )So with that done we headed out over the last weekend and found and signed a great variety of caches!!Loved the camo but found the lock a bit stiff *Well done chamad TFTCs* A fav point for this one

T-Tech and I spent some time over the last couple of days to get this My Little Sailing Boat Geoart series sorted, and today we had a few hours to make some of them smileys GZ was quickly located but we had a little trouble getting access. T-Tech worked it out eventually. All neat and tidy inside. TFTC, chamad.

Working at the Bridge to Brisbane this morning but arrived for work a little early so decided to fill my time with some caching in the area before work. I have been solving these over the last few weeks and am proud to say I only needed a couple of nudges here and there. Had some trouble with the lock but it came open with some jiggling. I'm sure I have seen this container before at another location. TFTC

chamad I found your cache #24 Sink or Swim on 12/10/2023, 12:20 pm. This is my find 6090 and find # 4 today. Finding the cache was easy but getting the lock open was another thing. After fiddling with it, managed to open it and access the logbook. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN

30-Sep-23
A team up with Gunnie69 today to tackle this geoart. He had them solved, and some of the challenges we both were able to qualify for. So today we made a team effov rt to make the finds here. We started up top and worked our way down. Some were tricky, like working out on site puzzles, and some were easy straightforward finds - but hey that is all part of the fun of making a find. So I put in the code, but it would not open. Could it be another code? Out came Gunnie and showed me the error of my ways, never encountered this type before where you need to slide it a little! TFTC

30-Sep-23
No trouble locating the container here, but NurseyJulie had not encountered this type of lock before so there was a little trouble in accessing the log book at first. Wink Once that was overcome, business was sorted and replaced everything as found. With all the puzzles solved at home where I could and the challenges checked for qualification, I teamed up with NurseyJulie this morning to pick up what we could. Heading to the furthest point to start, then working our way back toward the big smoke, we managed to get almost every cache on the list, despite spending a chunk of time sorting the multi and unknown caches out at the boat ramp. Red Face I was sad to see the multi over there once we had the final cords. SadThanks for the variety and some interesting hides Chamad, we had a great morning hunting icons. Smile

Out finding a few caches with Dora the Explorer! The sailboat geoart was our target for the day. All caches, except one, were quickly located and the logs signed. We enjoyed this series with its variety of puzzles, D/Ts, containers and hides. Thanks, chamad, for the effort involved in this geoart for the enjoyment of all cachers.....and TFTC.

Down in SEQ for a few days to celebrate the life of a caching ambassador and a great friend Karicka. It’s more than likely he’d found this one.

Back in BrisVegas to grab some rare DT targets today with BenM70 and greencordial.

This was fun one. Nicely done. Have a FP. Thanks chamad for adding to my day.

16-Sep-23
Tossing a person overboard resulted either in them sinking or swimming.

I tried not to do that for BenM70 or burgo78 today but they are currently sleeping soundly in my guest rooms so they are save.

Cheers Chamad Smile

16-Sep-23
The , burgo, greencordial and myself went to pick out a few caches that took our fancy for one reason or another.
Couldn’t pass by a large letterbox now, could we. Very nicely done
Thanks chamad for placing this to be my find # 4467

This geocache was a fantastic find on a busy road near the magnificent tree! It was a bit challenging to access due to the traffic, but the adventure was worth it. The container was well-hidden and in great condition.

I'm catching up on my logging, and I always enjoy finding a good letterbox cache and a large one at that!
Nice hiding spot here and a favourite point coming your way

Thank you, chamad, for placing this cache for our benefit, I'm slowly building a sailboat in the process ️

Back from Bali a week ago. This cache and letterbox was waiting a find from me. I think I would rather swim than sink. Signed the log and returned to where I found it. Thanks chamad. All good with this cache and letterbox.

Some plans were hatched with a local and some Sydney Siders for a 3 day quick caching trip which involved getting the boat out, yaks, mud, poles, ladders, trees etc. Plenty of solving was done and routes plotted. The boat, the MV Grumpy lived up to its name with some cantankerous displays and the need for running repairs on serval occasions so our timetable had to be amended on more than one occasion.Day 3 was planned to be a land day well with a few trees as well. This was the last leg, how much of the art work can be collected before the flight in a few hours? The answer is most of it.A number of us have thought we have previously been the victims of caching identity theft by that mysterious mob called the GOMs. As a result and given it felt like a bit of a mega the logs were signed MegaGOM. #7345

Day 3 of MegaGOM boating and tree fishing expedition with **bella at waggy**, **Baktrak**, **Purplepeopleater** and an anonymous local.

After 2 days on the water, it was time to remain on terra firma. But we still caught some fish, and for some, it was a big slog up a steep hill. Towards the end of the day, it was a mad dash mopping up around the airport and still managing to get through security on time.

Enjoyed all the caches and the company was reasonable as well.

Returning from the regular oldest child's catch up at Manly, and we thought we would detour under the Gateway, to try and find another cache in the recent boat art series.
A little drive later and we were at GZ. Pretty quiet here on a Sunday afternoon. The cache was spotted quickly, and we really liked the hide. That letterbox looks familiar. Our names were entered into the log book. Found this cache today with greatjustgreat. Thanks very much for the series chamad. Top fun. Cheers.

On a quick trip North with a few Sydney mates and a colourful local for a few days on the water, in the mud and up the hills, running around grabbing some beaut caches. Much joint puzzle-solving and planning paid off. On day 3, we left the water and mud behind in favour of tall trees, steep hills and a final race around the streets near the airport.
We signed with the space-saving catch-all, “megagom”, in memory of previous exploits.
Thanks chamad.

Together with Crash2079, Baktrak, bella at waggy and a notorious QLDer this was day 3 of the MegaGOM's special edition Brisbane adventure.
Sans the boat today, there were far less mishaps other than losing a certain member of the party for some time.

Caches all found and in good condition.

Geodaughter had her speech exam today & on the way home we stopped by for me to avenge a DNF I had here previously when I found the letterbox but couldn't open the lock despite trying every number I could think of. Fast forward to today & with a bit of lock intel & using the first code I tried last time I managed to get into the well stocked letterbox. Thanks for the fun letterbox chamad

This was quite a surprise! I imagine non-cachers would be even more surprised if they happened to wander past.
I had heaps of trouble getting the lock open, even though I had the right numbers.
Eventually I had access and enjoyed all the contents.
Very well done! TFTC

On a short break from work today I jumped in the geowagon and headed out to pick up a few recently placed caches in this new piece of geoart close to home.

On arrival a safe place to park the car was found and after a short walk, I soon laid my hands on the cache and made my mark on the log before safely returning the cache back in its hides hole.

Quick walk back to the car and I was quickly off to grab another in the series.

A big thanks to the cache owner for making this series available for fellow cachers to find.

Cheers

Apologies for the late log here (08.01.24) but I've had a busy time since getting back to the UK.A painless Letterbox - always appreciated. I had settled down over dinner, hoping to watch the cricket, when I noticed my inbox had been smashed with notifications for this series. I was feeling lazy and opted not to head out chasing them, but instead stayed up late, watching the cricket and solving puzzles.

After a lazy breakfast, I headed out with the intention of snaffling up as many of the first to finds that were still available. With all the available FTF's now claimed, I set about collecting the remainder of the series on my way home.

I love bold cache placements and this placement is excellent. Hope it lasts! The lock was a little bit fiddly but I managed. Many thanks, chamad

Out with Imbunda, hatzofff and RoddyC chasing sailing ships.

Found it easy enough but getting in took a few tries. All good here as lively as a rat off a sinking ship.

Leaving it a favourite point to keep it company.

Nice to see a letterbox in our travels. Not as many of these around as there should be - especially actual letterboxes like this one!!

Log signed and cache replaced as found on 29th July 2023. TFTC, chamad.
