Another CITO hosted by wespro. For a park that looked quite clean a lot of rubbish was collected. The benefits of geocachers hitting an area that hadn't had that experience before. Thanks wespro for organising another successful CITO.

I was looking forward to completing my days of the month calendar by helping out here. but my sinuses had other ideas.

Well done on a successful cleanup.

Cachemas in July is in full swing and I headed north today to join the festivities with like-minded elves in Gisborne.
After coffee nearby it was onto Jacksons Creek for the cleanup. A mild sunny morning in these beautiful parklands did not feel like 'work'. The area looked relatively clean but we accumulated a significant amount of rubbish and filled many bags in the hour. A lot of plastic like chip packets, distributed by the wind and creek flooding.
It was great to be able to make a considerable difference here, for the better!
Thanks for organizing this CITO, WesPro.

After the nearby event - we all arrived and looked at a lovely council cleaned park. But geocachers know how to look for rubbish. I walked along the river and while I was trying to get rubbish out of the river with a long branch- deanside came along and with the two of us using branches we were able to get a green crate out of the river - great team work. Thank you wespro for taking the crate back to the pile of rubbish collected. On the way back from the playground area - I got to catch up with a person I used to work with and hadn't seen for a long time.
Thank you wespro for organising this CITO.

Merry Cachemas!!!

After making a few early morning cache stops, and refueling at the cafe stop, it was on to the CITO.

Lots of rubbish around when you got into it. A great haul and always good to make a difference!

Thanks wespro for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

I had a number of plans for today's geocaching run. They included :-
20 caches in Macedon Ranges LGA.
12+ caches in Moorabool LGA.
12+ caches in Melton LGA.
CITO, Event and Tree Attribute in new LGA.
2002 old geocache.
And most importantly - Geodetic Survey Way Point.

Not sure about Melton & Moorabool LGA numbers, will have to recheck LGA borders but had a great day with 41 finds in total, in lots of different environments. Highlight would have to be Mt Macedon.

Wow a lot of rubbish picked up in an hour. The high river mark was my go to spot, so much rubbish must have got flooded downstream to this location last flood.

Even had a chat with a local who asked what we were going and she said they used to do geocaching. They are going to restart and look out for more events like this.

Thanks for the cache Wespro

Amazing the amount of rubbish e we still managed to pick up even though the Council apparently did a clean up a couple of days earlier. Great turn up and what a great job we do as a group Thanks wespro for placing Gisbornes’ first CITO , your commitment to cleaning up the environment is commendable . Happy trails, Deanside ??

Of course Mary & David were there. Being well inland, this CITO was not your typical one from our host wespro. Once again, a good roll up and, right on time, we all spread out around the John Aitkin Reserve, the Creek banks, and the adjoining Cricket Ground. The area looked fairly clean at first glance but, when we all regathered at GZ, a surprising volume of rubbish had been collected. Another great result. Our thanks to wespro.

A surprising amount of rubbish collected in an area that initially looked ‘clean’. Thanks for giving us the opportunity of a CITO in an LGA that had never had the fortune of geocachers hitting town.
Thanks for the CITO wespro.

Can't remember being to Gisborne before, so this CITO was a great reason to head down from Ballarat. Feathertop was along for the drive and after the earlier event it was over to the start the clean-up. An amazing amount of rubbish collected in just one hour...which when we arrived didn't seem possible as the area looked rather cleaned. Just shows what we can do...

Thanks wespro...a pleasant area...and looking a little better now.
