Logs
I flew into Christchurch a couple of days ago for a 3-week bucket list road trip around South Island, and made my way across the Alps to the West Coast yesterday, ending up in Punakaiki for the night.A straightforward find here on my way out of town this morning. Thanks go to Gracie7 + Mum for a nice hide.
After we had visited the Pankake Rocks we slowly continued to Greymouth. Here we stopped at beautiful views and places to look for a cache and then sign it. A big thank you to all the owners and greetings from the Moorhelmi from Germany
After a check to how the weather would be, it was off on a 3 day trip to the West Coast, weather tunred out to be great , and a lot of great caches found-, Many thanks to all the caches placers Bitsprayer
Nice quick find on the way back from the Pororai/Punakaiki loop. Found with 2/3/4 Sharpe. TFTC
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on day 3 of our Matariki 2024 West Coast trip. Today we are driving up the coast to Punakaiki then onto Charleston on a beautiful sunny day.We didn't feel the warmth of Buller at GZ because it was still in the shade at this time of the morning and was bloody cold! Luckily the cache was a quick find. TFTC.
Not in any hurry so parked up at the nearby freedom camping spot and walked back to Punakaiki so I could do the ad lab, and a couple more caches along the way. Nice easy find here, cheers
Our journey through New Zealand takes us to beautiful places. Fortunately, we see a lot and the geocaches also invite us to make extra stops. Thanks to the CO for making this available. A warm geocach greeting from the Netherlands
We were already there but somehow also arriving after only a small leave. If the river is the border then our absence from BUller country was between the swing bridge and the bridge for the cars.Thy for hiding.
Well, i was thinking, im glad it's a warm welcome, because not much else is warm today! Nice walk from the nearest parking spot.
A warm welcome indeed, but not as hot as it was going to get further on our journey home. This type of sign is usually a good place for a hide and this one was no exception. Thanks .
Today's road trip planned to go North of Runanga up to the Pororari River leaving Rapahoe for another day.Yes, I was very warm as the GZ was in the sunshine today.Cheers for the cache, Gracie7 + Mum.
First visit back to the SI since early 2020 and doing a road trip loop of the northern parts of the island. Our main stops are Kaikoura, Nelson, Westport and Greymouth with stops along the way to find some caches. Thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining their caches for our enjoyment.
At my destination for the night. Will go to the rocks tomorrow as tide is better then
Quick grab between passing cars on my way home to westport after a weeks volunteering in fiji...
Missed all these new ones on my last trip to greymouth..I used to live just around the corner..

FTF With Holymu. It was just the right kind of day to grace Punakaiki with our presence. The motivators were some caches of course. Two new placements in particular and the scoping out of Bullock Creek Road for a future visit to Cave Creek. When we presented ourselves for a warm welcome it was just that. The drizzle stopped and a watery sun peeked through the clouds. The big surprise was to find a blank logbook while a find had been claimed online. All pages were checked and no finds had been noted. We feel entitled to claim the FTF I have attached a pic from our log on the FTF page. Thank you gracie7 + Mum
FTF with Hazedarus.
We decided it was time to visit Punakaiki again with the added attraction of a couple of new caches.
This cache already had a found log so we certainly didn't expect to be FTF until we opened the log book to find we were looking at a pristine page. (See Hazedarus pic)
