Out for the day with Mycro Man doing some Christmas Shopping. Really liked this cache. Great concept not seen in quite this state before. FP awarded. Thanks for the cache.
A very nicely hidden cache here. A part of Lower Hutt I've never spent much (any) time in - it didn't feel dodgy at the park when I visited (the weather keeping everyone away) although there was a strong smell of weed as I walked past some of the houses. I would have looked for the "F is for..." cache today too but the only car in the entire carpark had parked within 20m of it! TFTC
(9802) An early start for a bit of caching. Headed to the Hutt as I primarily wanted some of the A to Z series. A nice walk in the park then saw the well crafted hide. Thanks ThatDarnBear for taking the time to place this and for bringing me here.
Second of the series today - am definitely getting to the tail end now. The place was deserted; not another soul around. I circled a couple of times, didn't spot anything obvious, and being as lazy as I am decided to check logs for any hints or clues. But first, I'll just check... ah, that's it! Clever!#4061
In the Hutt Valley this afternoon grabbing a few caches prior to an evening event. Nice little hide and another of the alphabet series grabbed.
A nice quick find. Thanks for placing your cache. Ms_KR and I are off on another North Island tour, visiting family, art galleries and caches. So far the weather has been pretty good!Occassionally signed MK+KR on cache logs, and apologies for the generic logs. Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches.
**taybee** is caching again with **taybee nz** for the dayQuick find here today All in good order, sign log book as **taybee (** *joint sign* **TB's** or **taybee / nz )** TFTC Cache was found at **21/02/2024 @ 12:55:00**
NosyNel and I were in the area finding a cache that neither of us had found so we also decided to walk in the loop and find this cache, the 2nd to last in the series for me to find. The cache was on the ground but we have rehidden it as per the cache container. What a great hide so I am giving it a favourite.Kia ora rawa atu for the cache ThatDarnBear.
NZB , Itchyfeet2020, Mr MacGoo and I stayed in Dannevirke at the beginning of the trip. We we're finding the Vikings with Itchyfeet2020 and Mr MacGoo.This was for most of the day. After that NZB and I went to go Greytown. During this time I found 3 joint first to finds with Taybee, TaybeeNZ, TwigNZ and Yeti. I also completed NZB's geoart and lot's of NZBs with a smattering of Skindos. Now we are heading to the Hutt and Wellington...slowly What a nicely crafted hide. I rehid it as it was out on the ground .
Hmmm... With the warning fresh in my mind I headed over to this one. Wasn't originally planning on being here, but a traffic jam followed by a DNF nearby reduced my remaining daylight options.... Headed in, and parked up. Couple Sitting on a bench - not good. So I spent a minute or 2 searching the car for a writing implement, and fortunately they had left before I tracked down a pencil with a bit of a point remaining. Got out the car, and a dog started to bark. Fortunately nobody around, but I made sure to lock the car anyway. GPS pointed to somewhere other than I had initially guessed, good! Made my way over there and looked around. Nothing jumped out at me, but I spotted and picked up a pen on the ground, so I knew I was in the right area. Reassuring. Gotta be here somewhere...hmmmm I wonder.... yes it is! Clever! As usual, the picked up pen wouldn't write (wonder if that's why it was dropped), but managed to scrawl IF on the logsheet, before quickly heading back to the car and out of the chilly wind. Now to brave the traffic jam on the way back to Wellington. TFTC
Took a while to figure it out but glad to find it. Could be easily removed so watch out!
To keep my find number ticking over, I was keen to grab an afterwork cache or two. My first choice wasn't a goer as ground zero was occupied by somebody who was unlikely to move any time soon. A quick check of logs for the other one I had planned revealed it was most likely missing. Not wanting to go home empty handed, I looked on my GPSr and saw this one. There were a few people around the park but not where I needed to go. Even though the cache is well camouflaged, I managed to get my hand on it straight away. All is good with this cache.
#13,606. My last find of the afternoon/evening. I know this area quite well. I probably would visit by day as on a previous visit I encountered some groups that would be best to leave to their nefarious activities. Today there was a dog walker but they were quicker than me so I had the place to myself. Surprised myself by finding the cache in the first spot checked. Signed and replaced the well hidden cache. Thanks LL113/ThatDarnBear for hiding it here.
A quick easy find of a cleverly hidden cache which gets a favourite from us, and some interesting history. TFTC
A neat cache in an urban park. Was able to park close by and made a quick find. Only saw one muggle walking his dog which had decide I was a person of interest. Was glad it was on a leash, lol. Favourite point from me. TFTC LL113
Tonight I was due to meet some friends to do the pub quiz at the Naenae Hotel. But I also wanted to find a cache tonight to help me with a challenge.I'd been wondering about when might be the best time to pay this particular cache a visit, and it seems that after work is pretty good. Virtually no-one around, and the cache was a quick find for me in spite of the nature of the container. Thanks for setting this one up, which crowbars another FP from me
Nice to be out and about with tmann421 again finding caches.
We are a little slower (post hospital stay) but managed to achieve some good finds.
Thanks to the cache owners for the hides.
Log signed and container returned.

Nice cache found with woolwood9.
Pleasant time spent getting some finds between the Hutt and Petone.
*Soon had the container located here!*
SL Thanks for the reason to visit the area.

Yet another A-Z found before this afternoon's event. Managed to find a park and wandered over, almost regretting the decision because of the muddy ground, but managed to not get stuck or fall over. Spotted something suspicious and soon had the cache in hand. Signed and replaced. All good here, and TFTC.
My Nan’s place was one of the houses backing onto GZ. I spent my school holidays here as a kid. It was a grey winters day today, but I remember hot summer days where Nan and I would leg it over the fence and I walk over to the river to swim. The river stones would get so hot you couldn’t stand on them. Fun times.
I spotted the cache fairly quickly. What a clever hide and I would think this cache container has a better shot at survival here than a plastic container.

Strange lil park with interesting vibes, I defs felt the note in the description. Simple quick hide tftc!!
Flowerydaze and I travelled down from kapiti to attend bruzie's August Happening in Petone on a particularly cold, windy and rainy day. Not wanting to only attend one event we decided to add in some caches from the A-Z of Lower Hutt. What a foolish decision I thought as we tramped across a wet (flooded) and muddy paddock in a very cold wind. Soon had the reward though after following the hint. TFTC LL113
We took our gumboots with us today on our caching mission, and we certainly needed them for this one, the field we crossed was muddy and wet. Talla64 found the nicely camoed cache - good one LL113.
We had targeted 10 of this series today, and found 9 of them. I was pleased, because the weather was awful, blowing a gale and freezing cold, but we had a plan and we stuck to it. We visited some spots today that we did not know existed, and were rewarded at the end by bruzie's August happening event in Petone. Thanks for the cache LL113.

Easily found due to good coordinates and good hiding despite a shifty character at the nearby seat.
Also discovered a pair of monarchs in the grass near my bike.

A quick lunchtime diversion on the way between suburbs. There were very places one might hide a cache and exactly one within a reasonable radius of the coords. So it kind of had to be there. Yet on first glance there was nowhere to hide a cache. Look a bit more carefully and there it is. Another nicely done cache - there's a been a few of those in this series. TFTC.
Not far away at a reasonable signing place was an oddly discarded red pen. There was a red sig in the log so quite likely belonging to an early finder.

Like agcnz I caught the train out. I keep being one ahead of them or one behind them but never meet at the GZs!
I needed a cache to keep the streak going and preferably one where weather wouldn't be too much of an issue on a drizzly morning. (I am up to 8, not sure I will make it every day for the next 20 but will keep going for now.)
Scratched my head for a little while then spotted something interesting and was relieved to find that it was indeed the cache. Apart from the safety issue this would be a bit hard to spot in the dark.
Getting a bit wet underfoot, no problem just now but might be a need to wear suitable footwear after more rain.
Of course the drizzle eased just as I was leaving!

With only one cache to find, I decided to take the train out to here from Wellington. A quick and pleasant and very smooth trip and a short walk from the Taita station, and I found the nicely constructed cache in the first place I put my hand. I can see why the CO recommends not coming here at night - it's one of those areas where all the shops have roller garage doors to cover the windows and entrances out of hours. Could be a bit of a dodgy environment at times! Signed log, thanks for the cache and with only 20 minutes available from stepping off the train before getting the returning one, I managed it in plenty of time.
It's day seven of this months Wheel of Challenges challenge, the streak. Once again I found myself hanging abut the Hutt Valley. This time to catch up with a Geocaching friend to discuss future plans. After we were done, I headed out here to find this latest and penultimate cache in the A-Z series.
Even though it was late, I was familiar enough with the area that I did not feel unsafe. On arrival to the cache location there was no one about so I followed the GPS down to zero and then circled the site a number of times before finally spotting the very well camouflaged cache, just sitting there waiting for me.
---
Thanks to LL113 for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.

I was told a new cache appeared and so got on my bike and headed to Point Howard, to the tank farm, for a bit of FTFing. While waiting for a team mate to arrive (who unbeknowst to me had actually arrived five minutes earlier, signed the log and already left), I set about finding my lost glove, saw that FTF notification come through and so left, leaving that cache for another day. On the way back home I stopped to watch a steam train come through. Then another new cache notification popped up so I headed up to here. Again waiting for the team mate... this time I had arrived first He said he wasn't coming! Really? Odd. Okaayy...
Signed thge log, and on putting it back... oh, dear, this is going to disappear forever! Nature provided (as is usual) and I crafted up a thingy so that the cache won't do the disappear forever thing.
I like the hide. Gets a fave for it and the series. Thanks for the {FTF}. Encountered the steam train again at Taita Station. Managed to get on the platform for a good photo, attached.
Right. Now, second attempt to cycle home.
