Great job so much fun somewhat difficult but I am new so others might find it easier
Wow what a wonderful piece of history, how the Gold Coast has changed over the years! I initially thought I was going to have trouble accessing GZ with all the roadworks going on but one of the traffic management team set me in the right direction. Phew. Then I circled the "Werner" machine a few times looking for something that looked as though it belonged but didn't belong. Aha sneaky. Thanks for the cache
Quite clever. Expected something smaller in this location. Excellent I AM GUR
Clever hide. About to give up because of pedestrians looking at me like I'm wierd. Sat down and it was starting at me.Log very torn up and almost full
This is the closest cache to where my family live now, so we detoured on our walk to find it. Once again my dad found the decent size cache while I was looking around expecting a nano. All is well here and it's a great spot for a cache since it drew my attention to the interesting history at GZ!Thanks for placing it here Kia ora from New Zealand (#2352)
First official geocache on this account, took a minute to find, but we did it!! Tftc!!!
At first we couldnt find it because we were looking in the most creative spots. But it was actually so easy
Found at 16:12Find today while on our way past. I realise the name couldn't have been a pub of the tv show given its starting date but I'm not sure you can say the same of the place next door. Thanks FordandMary for the cache
The well-hidden container here was found after a methodical search of the likely object at GZ, and of course was found by the GeoTeen in a spot I had (obviously inadequately)searched earlier. All good with cache and log.A favourite from us for highlighting a genuinely interesting historical location - thanks!
Nice piece of history. Never knew the place existed. Thanks to Geocaching Im more informed. TFTC
Wow what a cool little spot for a cache...... have to admit though it took longer than it should have to find. Once found, duh of course it would be there!!Thank you FordandMary for placing this cache.Log signed as B&PFind number 5075
We are on a one week holiday road trip from Sydney to Brisbane to Sydney, with pre-booked accommodation at the Big4 NRMA Treasure Island Holiday Resort at Gold Coast and then at Big4 NRMA Darlington Beach Holiday Resort at Arrawarra (Coffs Harbour), with some other as yet undetermined overnight stops along the M1 route there & back. Will be attempting to log a broad selection of cache types whilst in Queensland (at least one each of Trad, Multi, Mystery, Letterbox, Earth, Wherigo, Virtual, & AdLab), including a visit to Queenslands oldest geocache GC8E - Queens land. Photos will be uploaded to logs after our return to home base.Today (day 4) we are commencing our journey homeward, but with plenty of caching planned along the way. Collected numerous Traditional caches and some Adventure Lab stages along our Gold Coast Highway route, and a Virtual Cache at Currumbin, before crossing the border from VK4 (QLD) back into VK2 (NSW) territory. Stopped briefly at New Italy for the five stage Adventure Lab, but the phone reception was so bad that we were unable to even get the AdLab to run, let alone to log any stages, so we gave it up and continued on to our two night booking at the Big4 NRMA Darlington Beach Holiday Resort at Arrawarra (near Coffs Harbour). This was the 11th of 15 finds for the day (day 4), and 38th find of the holiday. We were now heading south along the Gold Coast Highway, and stopped off for this cache along the way. Parked a little further down from the cache, and then ducked back up to GZ for a nice quick find. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. Interesting history here, and it's nice to see that the new development has retained the old machinery and "Miami Ice" naming as a reminder of what was once here. TFTC FordandMary.Find #6673
Yey! First cache in Queensland. We had a family get together in north NSW and had just dropped off our daughter to catch the airport train so thought we would head to the coast for breakfast. Easier than we feared to find this cache. SL. Tftc and greetings from Yorkshire England
Interesting piece of history. Did enjoy my visit to Miami this afternoon. Have been staying up in Boardbeach for the annual bridge conference. Finished now so could find some caches this afternoon. Thanks to fordandMary for placing and maintaining
Down in Burleigh to attempt to find my wedding ring that fell out of my bag on the beach a couple of days ago. How hard could it be? Fortunately from. a photo i was able to backtrack my paces to a possible spot. Metal detector in hand and summoning all my geocaching skills i eventually made the find.. I have looked for caches longer than this!!! Feeling lucky i tried to find one of the nearby caches with no luck. so a quick drive and i parked at this oneEasy find. dont go searching where the soldier is or you might get dirty like i did
Awesome find. Interesting piece of Gold Coast history. Left a little something for the next find.x_Neuro_x
This really had the potential to take an hour if it was smaller First cache of the day driving from surfers paradise to Coffs harbour
Out on a 1:1 meeting with one of my employees and introducing her to this world. Her first cache! TFTC
Log book has been replaced as previous one has gotten wet from the recent bad weather.
This was my first find for the day, and unfortunately, the cache was lying in a small pool of water, but it didn't have too much inside. The Logbook was slightly damp though (perhaps as a consequence). A conceptually good idea for a hide, and a great historical item to point out to the community that I was unfamiliar with previously. Thanks FordandMary for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------Merry Christmas! The family celebrated Christmas staying in Robina on the Gold Coast, which provided an opportunity to visit geocaches in the region. This afternoon, after catching up with friends and watching the thunderstorm roll through (and getting wet!), I had a few hours that I was able to find a few geocaches, and with no definitive plans, I ended up sticking to the coast/beaches, thinking that the wet weather would make the beach esplanades quieter than usual. I targeted my last remaining *Paradise Series* oldie geocaches, before finding a few *Beautiful Burleigh* and Palm Beach Power Trail (PBPT) geocaches between Burleigh Heads, Palm Beach, and Currumbin. The weather was in complete contrast to the morning with sunshine and warmth, which was a welcome change to being outside today.
We are actually on holidays staying just around the corner so this worked out perfectly! Out for a night walk and some construction across the road was the perfect distraction for a quick search and find. TFTC!
**FTF** Having breakfast and checking the emails before going out to a previously organized meeting. Damn, a new cache had been published 8 kms away. No time to go, so thought we would check it out some other time. Finished our business at Nerang by midday and on the drive home checked and this was still unfound so off to Miami we go.Got a nearby park and casually made our way to GZ. Had two options but one drew our attention. Now, where would we hide it? Bingo, nice quick grab and off to a discreet spot to sign the log. Nice work on the cache and well placed. TFTC FordandMary and it's great to see some new Geocachers placing finds in the area.
