So figuring the code easy.Getting to the cache... much more challenging than we thought. We had the elements against us (it was windy +++), magpies swooping (it kept trying the wind didn't do it any favours) and self doubt with where the cache was.If you think you've climbed far enough and can't find it, keep going. It's higher than you think!! Lovely little trek!Tftc!
Staying at Bungonia a few days for a Scout Training School, so solved this one over a couple of days. Checked GZ yesterday without a find, but back again this morning for another go. Went high enough this time for the find. Thanks for the chase!Best wishes, Wal
A great day out with the fun, adventurous team of SocialClimber & mountainsbeyond to enjoy the 'cool' cool caves and rock faces of Bungonia Gorge. SocialClimber did the climb as I could only reach the half way mark - too short! That's my story anyway.A massive wind gust with rain hit as SC was at the top and he hung on for dear life. I was tempted to hide from the wind and rain in the car but it just didn't feel right. He eventually made it down shaken but not stirred (something like that) but a little worse for wear. It was scary from below as we watched him swaying back and forth. Thank goodness he survived and he climbed another tree down the road. Great human TOTT. TFTC Googlehihihi!
Mountainsbeyond, StarsAlign and I had a great day to match the fact that it was 29 February. We leaped down cave holes, leaped over cliffs and for some contrast climbed trees. Thanks for the fun and adventure. TFTC
A fun day exploring Bungonia with the irrepressible StarsAlign and SocialClimber for company. No problems resolving this puzzle, and we arrived at the final on the way home. Up the tree went SC, all good until a very short, very sharp storm blew in after a hot humid day and swung him about on the top of the tree. Fortunately his hold was good and SC made it back down safe and sound. Thanks, Googlehihihi!
OCW EverestHigh, Brewmaker, 4Rods, Martin Cousins, and Its_Dozzie (BIMME4). TFTC Team Googlehihihi!
It was late last night that our carload of people decided to come up to Bungonia for the cave event and some caching in the area. And Im so glad we did. Flintstones drove, while Tankengine talked shop and Aquilus1 and I giggled )or cackled depending on whose opinion you ask), grabbing some great caches and attending a very unique event with many many many other caches from the ACT and NSW communities. After the event we joined our large group of friends and cached together through Bungonia. This cache: Found with the group on event day. Tftc!!!
Out and about caching with fitzy_1965 today. The FurfacesLL ladies decided to pick us up and take us out to Bungonia for the caving event today. We picked up this cache along the way.
With an event in Bungonia National Park. Flintstone's, Tankengine, dty73 and myself set off for a day of caching together. The idea of caving had many people set out for a day of caching and it was quite the social event. Good folk, teamwork, and a lot of adventure made for a great day. The weather was kind, the location tops and the caving... awesome! After the event and caching in the area we had a great group that worked together on a few of the caches on our way back into Bungonia. It was great to find this cache today! Thanks for the cache!
Found on our way to The Grill Cave. A decent climb to make the grab. Signed as B.I.M.M.E.4R. TFTC
#7454 Caving climb.... the kids were talking about it. I figured we'd be climbing in a cave! I should read descriptions more thoroughly....Again the adults watched the kids climb the tree, for once. After this it was onwards to the Chill at the Grill event, our first caving event, our first real cave too.FP for the caving event and this cool climb. Thanks for the cache!
#7454Found while OCW Mighty Minions and GooglehihihiI thought I solved this puzzle ages ago, pretty much upon publication, but obviously not. Arrived at GZ behind loads of other cars who were departing. I got nominated to do the climbing, and I'm not complaining one bit! After navigating some blackberries I found my way to the trunk and followed the ladder of a tree right up to the peak, where after a little while of searching I found the nicely tucked away cache! I signed everyone in, then another person arrived, well I thought one person, but half of canberra turned up! I signed about 15 more names in then tucked the cache away and started the descent.I love tree climbs, I love pine climbs and I love easy puzzles, I think this fits all the criteria for an FP coming your way GHHH!Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache Googlehihihi
Completed the climb with a nice view at the top, got spiked on the blackberry vine at the back. Thanks for the hide GHHH
A great big geocaching day out with Brewmaker, Its_Dozzie, MaxAdventurer, Martin Cousins, EverestHigh and 4Rods, SL for the day as BIMME4. ?? TFTC GoogleHiHiHi
Easiest GHHH puzzle ever? Met Laighside Legends here and we both scaled the tree together, a great pick! Quickly located the cache at the top of the tree and soon had the logbook signed, may need a replacement soon as half of the logbook is already gone! Soon got back to ground level and home we go. TFTC GHHH!
Chooo ooo found with Flintstone's dty73 Aquilus1 and a bunch of others! Thanks Googlehihihihi!
A caching road trip to Bungonia to attend an event and find a bunch of caches with Joolay and albida33. A quick and easy puzzle and find. Thanks for the hide Googlehihihi
13,365 10:15A great day out to Bungonia National Park for the 'Chill @ The Grill event'. Together with 4Rods, Martin Cousins, MaxAdventurer, Everest High and Brewmaker we drove down from Sydney. In total I ticked off 51 caches, wich is not bad for a day out!Caches were logged for our group as BIMME4.MaxAdventurer was climbing up up and up until the cache was spotted and logged as BIMME4TFTC GHHH
Mr Minion and I left home bright and early this morning to attend a nearby event. meeting up with lee737,samuel737 and googlehihihi to find a few caches first. I was very happy to actually be able to solve the puzzle for this cache before leaving home and at GZ it was a quick climb by the youngun's before a group of other cachers arrived as well. Thanks for the cache Googlehihihi tnln replaced as found sl
34,194. Found with minniek and FurfacesLL and probably about 20 other Cachers as we were all on our way to the Chill @ The Grill cave event.FurfacesLL picked us up today - nice not having to drive for a change - and we headed out to Bungonia for what turned out to be a very fun days caching with a nice bonus as well. This was the first find of the day for me. Having pre-solved the puzzle but as it turned out there were about 8 other cars here when we arrived. Got our names added to the log and then we continued along to the main event at the caves. Thanks Googlehihihi !! A fun start to a fun day !
An Event being hosted in the Bungonia NP was a brilliant excuse to finally visit. It was also a fantastic opportunity to catch up with Bonfire7. We found about a dozen caches, with several finds being made as part of a large caching group. Thanks to all cache owners for their hides!Solved from home. Arrived at GZ to a small group already gathered at the base of the tree. TFTC
After picking up minniek and fitzy_1965 today we headed to Bungonia to attend Chill @ The Grill cave event but as we were early we collected a couple of others on our way in. When we arrived at this one there was already a group gathered and two up the tree. So our name was added to the log. Thanks for the puzzle and hide Googlehihihi
A geocaching day out with Brewmaker, Its_Dozzie, MaxAdventurer, Martin Cousins and EverestHigh. Found it on our way to the Grill. Log signed with the abbreviated signature BIMME4. TFTC.
I entered Geocache into the checker but was told no, that would of been funnyI then thought about BBQ's and a Red burger chain, and the pin dropped. YumI pulled up to the tree and the cache owner was literally at the top of it, holding the cache! That's a little bit odd considering it's location and where he lives...Maybe he is so fond of this hide that he has decided to move permanently into the treeAt least it made finding the cache easy after such a brain bending puzzle!TFTC GHHH
Dead Thief did the deed today. He made it look easy ??Off to Bungonia today for the Chill the Grill event and picking a few up on the area. Thanks for getting me out and about Googlehihihi
Found It!No problems solving this one but finding the little thing was a bit difficult. After a fail here last time, I came back today and EthisEthat found it for me. At least you picked an easy tree to climb!TFTC
After a recent visit to Goulburn, I saw quite a few caches that needed a visit between Marulan and Tallong, so I scheduled a trip to the area. As time passed before the trip, I was alerted to an event a Bungonia to visit a cave so felt it was worth extending my trip and I was also happy to get some passengers to keep me company for the day. Today I was joined by Joolay and Kitty Katch for a relaxed start to the day. We had time for some of the caches just to the north of Marulan around the highway before heading to Bungonia National park to meet up for the event. There were lots of people and the cave was a very cramped place to be. We also managed the nearby multis and Earth caches before grabbing a bite to eat for lunch. The day finished with a visit to Tallong to visit the newish Element caches there before heading homes. A great day out. I was happy to be able to find out what this one was before heading out to the event today. We were running a little late so did it as we headed back into town. Nice climb !Thanks for the cache Googlehihihi45484.15 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2015 Compass Rose Kola Peninsula A#330**Albida**
#4643 A nice easy solve considering the event we were attending. Then off to GZ where DeadThief made the climb and added our names. Thanks GHHH for organising the event and for the extra caches in the area.
Today I visited Bungonia with 2 semi-muggles mates to attend the Chill at the Grill event. The caving was excellent! We also picked up a handful of caches while we were here. I had solved this cache when I first saw the event. Today it was a matter of parking and making the climb. Me and one other ascended the tree. It was a really awesome climb. However as my friend signed the log, he dropped it and we had to backtrack and reattempt. Thanks for this one! FP!
A straightforward solve and a fairly fast find while caching in the area with a group. TFTH
Solved this a few weeks ago, stopped in at GZ today to find a heap of other cachers here and a CO in the tree lol,the beginning of what was a top day out! Thanks for the cache
Cache 10832 on 1 Jan 2024. Out for a mini mission with FATZ (Fox, Angel, Tikva and ZQX) to Marulan to get the jump on 2024 caching! A small but interesting haul of caches for the afternoon. Spotted this one on the map last night and quickly got it sorted. At GZ, ZQX did the legals. Thanks Googlehihihi for the cache and the fun!
#21451 @1405Out caching with ZQX, AngelG27 and Fox in Jox. We dropped by GZ and ZQX headed up the tree to locate the cache and sign the log. TFTC.
On a Marulan area mission with FATZ (Fox in Jox, Angelg27, TikvaNZ and ZQX).AngelG27 did the solve, TikvaNZ did the nav, ZQX did the climb and I watched . A good team effort TFTC Ghhh
Found on a quick detour from the sleepy town of Bungonia. I enjoyed climbing the tree, although I probably shouldn't have climbed it considering that I still have stitches in my upper leg. But it was my turn to climb and I couldn't let the team down.TFTC!
[FTF]We had seen this one published a few weeks ago, however we were just not able to get that far away from Canberra and make a visit. Today, we are driving from Canberra to Wollongong, and we decided to take a detour and have a look at the Hide. From the ground, we did not stand a chance of seeing the little container, so the logical thing was to head up, and we suspected it would be quite high. It was. That said, it was a really good fun tree climb with plenty of branches to help along the way. Opening up the bison, we discovered a blank log and our name was added before heading back down. As the feet touched the ground again, the rain started once more, and it was good to head back to the car. Thanks GooglehihihiAdding a favourite hereDomsky
