Tftc! Another cave that we hadn't been to! Will definitely be back from Argyle. Mass cave as always a lovely little visit.
I only realised these caches were here when I got my gps out to lead my caving group to mass cave after a great trip down into Grill cave, far deeper than I've ever managed before due to bad air. No one had the everyday for another big trip after a late lunch so we went to the look outs before the walk to this one. Only then did I realise I had some info to gather while there for this cache. I didn't get a chance to visit Argyle cave until after we finished our trip through Canberra Hole and the Steampipe cave and packed up. While wearing my only non muddy clothes for the drive home I was very careful while collecting the final numbers I needed to find gz.Thanks for the cache.
Staying at Bungonia a few days for a Scout training school and tackled the waypoints over a couple of days. Out on a crisp Wednesday morning for the find. TNLNSL, thanks for the cache!Best wishes, Wal
Slid down the guide chain to enjoy the cool tranquillity of the cave, tried not to disturb the bats. Fortunately, algebra came to our assistance, and with the answers from the cave, there was only one possible outcome, so we collected our smiley on our way back home.
A fun day exploring caves and cave entrances with StarsAlign and mountainsbeyond. I'd love to come back and really have a better wonder through the underground. TFTC
A great day out with the fun, adventurous team of SocialClimber & mountainsbeyond to enjoy the 'cool' cool caves and rock faces of Bungonia Gorge. A 'fun' multi that had us walking, walking and more walking - fun!. Quick find on our way home. TFTC Googlehihihi!
A fun day exploring Bungonia with the irrepressible StarsAlign and SocialClimber for company. No problem gathering the data at any of the waypoints here, and we had already planned to visit Mass cave for the new earthcache there so it was nice to have two reasons to be in this particularly pretty spot.No issue resolving the numbers into a likely GZ and cache was found there without issue. Thanks for the fun, Googlehihihi!
#800 (Milestone!!)This weekend I visited Bungonia with 2 semi-muggles mates to attend the Chill at the Grill event. The caving was excellent! We also picked up a handful of caches while we were here.Loved this multi! Both of the caves we visited were excellent (but no match for Grill). Argyle had a tight entrance, a swarm of crickets and cool corridors. Made good use of the measure app on my iphone. Mass cave was much easier to explore, awesome skylights and a really cool selection of stalagmites or stalactites? Should've paid attention to the EC whi forch I just missed out on.Signed the final on the way out. If only this was in a cave too!?Thank you for the memorable experience and milestone... take a fav!
OCW EverestHigh, Brewmaker, 4Rods, Martin Cousins, and Its_Dozzie (BIMME4). TFTC Googlehihihi!
It was late last night that our carload of people decided to come up to Bungonia for the cave event and some caching in the area. And Im so glad we did. Flintstones drove, while Tankengine talked shop and Aquilus1 and I giggled )or cackled depending on whose opinion you ask), grabbing some great caches and attending a very unique event with many many many other caches from the ACT and NSW communities. After the event we joined our large group of friends and cached together through Bungonia. This cache: Found with the group on event day. Tftc!!!
Out and about caching with fitzy_1965 today. The FurfacesLL ladies decided to pick us up and take us out to Bungonia for the caving event today.A well attended event and earthcache before heading over to watch some abseiling. Thanks DSD
With an event in Bungonia National Park. Flintstone's, Tankengine, dty73 and myself set off for a day of caching together. The idea of caving had many people set out for a day of caching and it was quite the social event. Good folk, teamwork, and a lot of adventure made for a great day. The weather was kind, the location tops and the caving... awesome! After the event and caching in the area we had a great group that worked together on a few of the cachers on our way back into Bungonia. It was great to find this cache today! Thanks for the cache!
#7456Another walk for some cave waypoints. The Mass Cave is awesome, we'll be sure to revisit that one. This multi was about the end of our Bungonia day. I'd never been here, but enjoyed myself a lot, and will certainly return...Thanks for the cache!
Thoroughly enjoyed my experience in this NP, will obviously return here again with the family one day soon
This morning, I was 50-50 about going to the event today. But knowing there were some friends going, and knowing that there were some other tasty caches nearby (like this one), I decided to join the fun. Thanks to TNZ for lending me his torch. In my rush to leave home on time, I totally forgot to bring some vital equipment. Thanks for a well-constructed multi that took me back to some places I haven't visited since 1995.
Found after the Grill Cave Event. Visited the WPs, then off to GZ after grabbing some others in between. It was almost another event at GZ, as many cars and cachers rolled up at the same time. TFTC
#7458I thoroughly enjoyed all the caches throughout Bungonia and this was no exception. After the event, we headed to WP1 and 2 with Mighty Minions, Laighside Legends and the CO himself GHHH. At WP1, LL went into the crevasse first, well tried to. It took about as long for him to clear the stinging nettle, getting stung a fair few times, with a couple of swear words in the mix, but we eventually got into the actual cave, very grateful for the removal of the nettle, otherwise, it would've been a painful squeeze. I didn't expect it to be so big once we got in there, but after a few minutes we spotted the rock formation and took some measurements, it was pretty straightforward, especially with the CO (our own personal checker!) with us in the cave.WP2 was as good, but without nettle! After a little walk to the entrance, we spotted the cave and went for a wander in, counted the bolts, and some chain links before getting some photos and exploring for a little while longer. We wandered back to the surface and then had a peer through the top and counted some more things there! On the way out GS of LEGOS met up with Loci, to make LGS! GZ was straightforward, especially with the amount of people around, and made it very simple! TNLN SL FP for sure, I'm sure we'll be back sometime soon for one reason or another ??Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache Googlehihihi
# 9097 We've wanted to visit Bungonia for quite some time so the "Chill @ the Grill" event was all the motivation required. We woke early for Saturday and headed to Goulburn for parkrun, running into Search4 there. We had breaky at the cafe next door before changing into more appropriate clothing for an event underground !A nice tour around these caves. Thanks Googlehihihi for the Multi-cache
I hear there may be a new event here soon? Would love to see that happen. Met half of CBR here, then half of Sydney (I think), a lot of finds on that logbook! Favourite point here. TFTC GHHH!
A great big geocaching day out with Brewmaker, Its_Dozzie, MaxAdventurer, Martin Cousins, EverestHigh and 4Rods, SL for the day as BIMME4. ?? TFTC GoogleHiHiHi
A caching road trip to Bungonia to attend an event and find a bunch of caches with Joolay and albida33. Another fun multi solved and picked up today. I do love caching in groups where we help and support each other. Thanks for the hide Googlehihihi
#13373 14:25A large group of people moved from Brave The Caves I to Brave The Cabes II. It felt we were at a Mega Event. The cache was of course quickly found.TFTC GHHH.
Traveled from Canberra to join an event in one of the caves, hosted by the CO. After that, a large group collected the info at the waypoints. Following some more antics, TikvaNZ, ZQX, Search4 and I headed to gz for a quick find. TFTC Ghhh
34,200. Found with a huge group of Cachers today while attending the Chill @ The Grill Event.FurfacesLL picked us up today - nice not having to drive for a change - and we headed out to Bungonia for what turned out to be a very fun days caching with a nice bonus as well. The event was really good. I've done caves before but not this one. It was a pretty easy but slippery way down to the bottom. After a while checking things out there was a surge of people heading back to the surface, which was interesting as there were still people coming down. Grabbed the photo and info for the Earthcache as well. We also gathered all the required info for this Multi while in the general area, which was a quick find once we reached GZ en mass. Log signed and we headed off to the next cache on the list. Thanks Googlehihihi !! A fun Multi.
An Event being hosted in the Bungonia NP was a brilliant excuse to finally visit. It was also a fantastic opportunity to catch up with Bonfire7. We found about a dozen caches, with several finds being made as part of a large caching group. Thanks to all cache owners for their hides! An interesting Multicache showcasing some of the caves/rock formations around. Found on the way out of Bungonia NP. Thanks!
#21601 @1350Following the event down the Grill, we collected the information for this cache. On our exit from the park ZQX, Fox in Jox, Search4 and I easily found the cache. TFTC.
After a recent visit to Goulburn, I saw quite a few caches that needed a visit between Marulan and Tallong, so I scheduled a trip to the area. As time passed before the trip, I was alerted to an event a Bungonia to visit a cave so felt it was worth extending my trip and I was also happy to get some passengers to keep me company for the day. Today I was joined by Joolay and Kitty Katch for a relaxed start to the day. We had time for some of the caches just to the north of Marulan around the highway before heading to Bungonia National park to meet up for the event. There were lots of people and the cave was a very cramped place to be. We also managed the nearby multis and Earth caches before grabbing a bite to eat for lunch. The day finished with a visit to Tallong to visit the newish Element caches there before heading homes. A great day out. After the Cave Event, a groups of people went for the various short walks to visit the caves for these two multis. We then stopped by the GZ's as we headed back into town. Thanks for the cache Googlehihihi45483.14 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2015 Compass Rose Novaya Zemlya A#333**Albida**
Found after nearby event at the Grill. That and this cache felt like a mini-mega. It was good to be caching as a group. Made gathering the information easy. . Log signed with the abbreviated signature BIMME4R. TFTC.
An excellent multi, loved it! Thanks GHHH for picking up where we left off after running out of time previously, and hiding this sequel!Argyle Cave was pretty cool and different to all the others we had explored so far! Quite a small entrance, but opens up a bit once inside. Relatively flat though, feels like a little underground cavern! We found the rock in question here, and used Apple's smart technology to get an accurate measurement.Later in the day, I then visited Mass Cave! This one was even more impressive and unique! Loved the steep descent holding onto the chain, and the chambers with natural light coming through the roof. I found what looks like a manmade wall at the bottom of this cave to be pretty interesting, apparently church services were actually held here! The final cache was a quick find, funnily enough even though event attendees split up in Bungonia, most of us ended up finding this final at the same time! I reckon there was close to 20 cars parked here!Favourite Point from me, however I am currently in FP debt, so have added this to a list called "Give a Favourite" and will do so as soon as possible, hopefully by mid-march at latest! Thanks GHHH!
Found as part of the group. Its such a lovely area except for the stinging nettle hiding in places.Off to Bungonia today for the Chill the Grill event and picking a few up on the area. Thanks for getting me out and about Googlehihihi
When we saw there was a unique event being held inside a cave, the temptation was too much. We picked up fitzy_1965 and Minnie along the way, and had a great day of caching around Bungonia area. We grabbed this one as part of a group after a fun filled morning of caving and watching someone else abseil. Thanks Googlehihihi for the placement.
Found It!We had the guided tour of this cache by the CO. Mass Cave is very impressive! Once we had found all the numbers, we went to the final location. A few others arrived there at the same time and with a group of about 20 people, we soon found the cache!TFTC
#4642 An enjoyable multi that was overcome by a group effort collecting all the information today.GZ found another gathering of cachers and eventually all names were on the log sheet. Thanks for the day out GHHH.
After a great day out at the Grill Cave event and visiting many other caves and locations we stopped in at GZ on way out of the NP,wasn't to difficult to find the cache here with about 10 cars parked up and geocachers all in a line lolTop multiThanks for the cache
After the event lee737.samuel737,googlehihihi, laughsidelegends and I went looking for a few caches in the area. The cave for this cache is really impressive and even though I was pushed for time I was very glad I went and did it. The final GZ had a convoy of cachers all turn up at the same time to make the find. Thanks for the cache Googlehihihi easy fav point for the incredible cave tnln replaced as found sl
Chooo ooo [FTF] before the rains came! I loved this adventure! I really liked that you could go into some of the caves! I have been in the Mass cave 21 years ago, so it was about time I came back! I messed up a bit after the Mass cave, but all fixed! Took a bunch of photos inside, and swatted a lot of flies outside! (Seems they don't go inside). Mind you, I think the terrain should only be a 3 - it was an easy little hike! Favourite point from me for excellent adventure and not a single tree climb in sight! Thanks Googlehihihi!
