Logs
Seems like this one might be harder than I expected. Nice spot for a cache nevertheless.
A day split between a market and some it support work allowed an hour off for some caching. It was great to avenge two previous dnfs and find another couple of caches that got favourite points. Finally I managed to complete a multi that I had done all the research on a previous trip and this was just a find to finish the jobTftc. This was revenge for a previous visit where I didnt log a dnf as it was raining and I couldnt be bothered searching.
Got the counter tip of people saying not to look for rock cracks but to look for ground level rocks looked under and next to every rock we saw, couldnt find the cache
with many rock cracks this hint didnt help at all. went for a big climb dispite the terrain rating. no luck
Today we further explored our back yard and finding caches along the way, and this was one of them.We concentrated on finding the caches that has been published since our last visit. We found a variety of hides with varying degrees of difficulty. Many thanks to the CO for your cache placement.
Heading along Granville street from the southern end we came to a place where the road was permanently blocked. So Mr Beetle waited with the motorhome while I walked to GZ. Only to find that if we had approached from the other end we could have driven right to GZ.A quick find there although a muggle did run past while I was dealing with the cache. Don't think he even noticed me though. Thanks CrazyJakey.
After much scrambling on my two attempts to find this one, I find it, no climbing or slithering or slipping or causing erosion was necessary. Found at the bottom level. Could not understand why the hint would mention a rock crack. Rock yes, but not crack.
I was away for work this week and while up in Launy had a chance to meet up with TazScout as I hadn't seen them in ages, it was nice to catch up and find a few caches together, 7 years ago along with gooseandegg we all walked Dooley's trail together.Found on 18/01/2024 at 18:42:00 thanks to CrazyJakey for placing this cache for me to find. The best caches I have found so far are:-Sentimental [Moorgreen P3:1, Penny Pincher](http://coord.info/GC32Z5B) By [Sven&Cup](http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?A=6596795)Traditional [Hanging Around in Toorak](http://coord.info/GC62KAP) By [bobthebuilder_123](http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?A=586681)Multi [Gawler Fort Knox](https://coord.info/GC5T0W1) By [**JEM**](http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?A=11449141)Unknown [Men In Black Holes](http://coord.info/GC1DVB0) By [SG-3](http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?A=918045) Letterbox [Rolf's Letterbox](http://coord.info/GC5NCYM) By [membsec](http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?A=5318842)Earthcache [Totem Pole](https://coord.info/GC862H8) By [The Hancock Clan](http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?A=263428)Visit the [Geocaching Tasmania Facebook group](https://www.facebook.com/groups/318455407771/)
SS Rat was in town for a few days and we caught up for some before dinner caching around Launceston.Almost a driveby, after a few false starts and a bit of climbing about we found this one double checking. TFTC

A quick find here today, cache is all goodToday nettieknows and I headed out and about Launceston to find a large chunk of the new caches that have been published around the city, a lovely afternoon with just over 20 findsThanks for the cache
I did a lot of work here today, guiding Angus 88 up the cliff to a couple of different levels and then send her one way and send her another way with instructions as per previous logs, but all to no avail. Eventually sent her up further and picked her up on Granville Street.
With the help of Geo Maggie, I spent a lot of time on this cliff face today. No luck. It might be in the interest of safety for the cache owner to check cache location and coordinates.
Out for a mid afternoon walkies, parked up near the bowls club and headed the hill. Took a bit to locate, is it up or down? There it be.. thanks for another..!!
After another commitment in Launceston early in the afternoon and since the actual weather was much better than the forecast had predicted, we decided to look for caches that have been published since our previous visit. We parked on the lower section of Grasnville street and walked up the narrow section until we were close to the published coordinates. Our GPS wanted us to scale the rock face but we decided to check the lower rocks first. After trying one part of the rock face without success we moved around to the next section where we spotted the container. It was very visible. When we reached it we could see that some of the clay material below it had fallen away when it became wet. This may have taken any cover with it leaving the container in the open. After signing the log we replaced it as best we could given the unstable nature of the hide. We placed a rock in front of it but this may slip off if more of the loose clay moves due to the weight of the container and its cover. The CO might like to check the hide. Our GPS indicated we were 13m from the published coordinates. Thanks for this cache CrazyJakey. We enjoyed the view over the city from this spot that we had not explored previously.Congratulations to Colbysmumma for your FTF.
