Looking around for a hike to do on the long weekend came up with this as a good candidate that we've somehow never done, and a high terrain virtual as a bonus. Tftc

For many years, I looked up at this location from the train station wondering what was up here. Then around 2014, Seaeagles and I came across some intel, and bashed our way across from near Staples lookout without knowledge of a trail. Since that time, I've lost count of the number of times and people I've come up here with, but today we combined all of the route options, setting up a car shuffle and a new 'fast' way of getting to the trailhead. We spied a sneaky track from koolewong that cut up through a NP easement, feeding us almost directly to the Spion Kop trail head. At the top of the steep accent, there were a few nice caves to enjoy before crossing over the top of the ridge and down to Waterfall creek. We were greeted to a very healthy flow that had settled nicely after the previous weeks of heavy rain, stopping to take measurements for WP1. A short hike up the hill and we were walking along the tops with occasional views of the surrounding peaks and valleys before getting a look at the bay from WP2. After arriving at GZ, the weather began to change back to cold and overcast, so we donned jackets and snapped some very 'safe' photos away from the edge (even our partners would have approved of our safety today ). Seaeagles had even gone to the further extent of wearing high vis shorts, I'd say they would have been able to see him from Woy Woy train station! Continuing our walk, we descended down the other side of Spion Kop to meet the 'snakes and ladders' side approach, following the trail all the way down to the creek. Unfortunately for us, we had chosen to wear shoes (sorry BFJ) and after staying dry on almost the entirety of the crossing, I fell in at the last moment lol . Headed up the trail and back to the cars to complete the car shuffle. Thanks Jeff for getting a cache up here, much appreciated! TFTC!!!!!

Spoin Kop!!! I was today years old when I learned that it was in fact spelled spIOn kop not spOIn kop. I have been misreading/pronouncing it wrong all of these years. But after rolling the correct method off the tongue a few times, I think I'll continue my wrong ways - it feels better. Like Elevation (todays bushwalking/caching buddy) I've been out here multiple times over the years and have loved every visit. The second I heard that BFJ was given a Virtual Reward and that he had aspirations of placing it up here I knew that I'd have to set aside a FP for when I could visit. Each time I've come out here I've entered from a different spot and today was no exception. Elevation spotted a steep red line on OSM heading up from Koolewong that had some potential. It was a tough grind early, but once at the top of the hill we weren't far off the trail head marker heading for the creek. It was a bit chilly today so we weren't tempted into having a dip. Luckily we found a well calibrated wooden measuring device, to assist with the questions to answer. After a few pics, we headed further towards our destination. The track through here is a highway compared to our first visit over 10 years ago - where we bushbashed the whole way. The viewpoint is still comfortably in the top 3 on the Central Coast. With all the CC landmark 'bingo card' being satisfied. Having set up a car shuffle at the beginning, our route back involved traversing the old reo ladder, and unfortunately, muddy high tides of Woy Woy Bay, resulting in wet shoes/socks a but before the old stone jetty. As always, a great day out! Love seeing a cache out here

Apologies to the CO for not logging on the correct day.Chose this one straight after work and after studying the map for parking, I chose S 33 27.703 E 151 18.738 for the van. From there, I noticed an insane amount of mozzie influx. Has to be stagnant water for breeding them from a nearby neighbour. My back was a pin cushion from here to the top.Long pants are a must along the trails as even my arms were cut from spikes from random shrubs along the trails. So privileged to have a CO who marks places of interest upon the trails with easy to follow instructions. My shirt drenched, not by the waterhole experience but the humidity. An hour plus 20minutes from the car parking I sighted the dragons head which is better than the snakes mouth I spied upon the trail. Magnificent views out here, Im staying put, until hearing an interested in me, March fly. Back and from van to cache and back, 2hrs and 25mins, but well worth the trek out there.Used one of mother natures TOTT at question 1. Have passed through here previously en route upon another BFJ challenge. Oh, they are all have some sort of challenge to them.

I was driving with daughter on Ls and got a message from Crash about this new virtual. Plans made for an early assault with B@W for today. Parked at the pyramid parking spot and headed down the trail. Loads of mozzies about. Crash had his eye on the map and picked the narrow single track. B@W lead the way @ [FTF] pace from there. First stop in the creek bed and we measured up the hole. Would make a nice bath. Went through the gap from here and past the cave then along the winding trail to the next stop. Quickly noted the structure then continued on to the glorious view at GZ. A pair of walkers already there but they were non caching folk do the [FTF] prize was ours. Crash sent the answers to CO and took some photos. Wasn't too windy so went a few extra feet on the nerve testing Rock formation. Pretty quick walk back. Plunge in the bath was tempting. Great company, great walk, great views, great cache! Fav point!

#7489 joint FTF with asbestiform and b@wWhen I saw this get published, I knew it would be a great adventure so checked with some locals if they had plans to track down this new virtual. Agreed on an early morning trip north to avoid the heat of the day and hopefully get back in time for one of us to get to his cricket match. With a number of possible access options, decided to stick with the COs recommended parking spot - a place that had previously been the start of other caching adventures. We had brought a number of TOTTs for the first WP and decided on the more accurate of the two just in case there was any doubt Smile. The trail from here took us past several interesting spots and scenic lookouts before we arrived at the second WP to glimpse a structure that I'm sure I have seen from much closer perspective. As we got closer to GZ, we heard a cooee followed by some chatter and were briefly concerned that we had been beaten to our goal. Indeed we had, but were relieved that they were not fellow cachers, so our position in the virtual logbook was still looking good. After enjoying the views, taking plenty of photos and sending our answers to the CO, we soon received a response that our answers were correct and our position on the podium was confirmed.Another amazing location that I'm pretty sure I would never have visited were it not for geocaching! Easily gets a FP.TFTV BFJ
