I had parked in Te Taruna Drive for this one. With the CO's love of fishing I spotted a culvert with a fence around it and thought the cache might be in the top of one of them. No luck. I then looked closer at the GPS which pointed to a tree on the other side of the water. Decided at my age it would be better not to jump the ditch and walked around. Made a quick find there. Just as I'd left the cache to return to the car my email beeped with a new cache notification. I worked out where it was and how long it would take me to get there -13 mins. Hoping I'd be close enough, I set off for the ftf attempt. Glad I succeeded. Thanks for another hide in the new subdivision Smile

Well I thought it was on the road!

**20,747**Having been passed by a large group of early morning cyclists, in their fluro gears and flashing lights it was a short stroll to GZ. One would hope that the cache would be well above the floodline or the nice new nearby houses are going to be in serious trouble. A quick find and then back in the van to continue our tour of Milldale Speed Hump Land. TFTC

Was out on a caching trip today...Just parking the car, and the other two dashed out, and down a slight incline and already had the cache in hand just as I got there.Easy with hints.

I came up to Silverdale area on the bus, to get 2 possible FTF's, and I ended up bumping into Team Welsh at the first of them, so after a joint find there, we are finding a few more caches to round out the morning, and TW will drop me back to Silverdale station. The funny thing is, me and TW were discussing the Feb floods of 2022, I guess we were prompted by this cache title, we shared a few stories. I for one wouldn't like to live here, that man made creek doesn't look anywhere near deep enough for my liking, Opanuku stream out west Auckland back then, rose over 7m higher than it's normal calm state. That was staggering! The cache was in the only possible 'safe' spot, and as you say TWS, will it be high enough? Time will tell.

Walked here from the bridge one and ended up on the wrong side of the water gully so carried on to cross another bridge and looped around to get to gz. No problems in finding the cache and I would imagine there will be a fair amount of run off coming through here in wet weather.

The geohound was loving his rampage through this new area. I left Daddypig in charge whilst I followed the slide marks through the mulch down to the cache, and when I got back he'd let the the geohound crunch on mulch again. At least he didn't chew up a cache this time.

Avoyager picked me up to grab a couple of FTFs in the area so we stopped to get a some others that were close by as well. As I was recovering from major back surgery she did the honours of heading down to above the floodline while I supervised. Yeah, it will be interesting to see what happens here in heavy rain!

The new building in the area is incredible. Roads are almost a narrow slalom course with tricky roundabouts to negotiate. Arrived at gz & made a nice quick find. [TFTC]

I was out this was for an appointment and after grabbing a few caches in Orewa, thought it might try the recently published ones here, as I'd not been this way here before. While driving from Orewa, the skies darkened and by the time I got where I needed to be it was pouring down. I sat in the car while it bucketed and figured out my game plan. The car is always full of towels because my kids seem to find water and mud wherever we go. I could see GZ from the car so left phone behind, grabbed a pen and wrapped myself in a rather fetching Shrek towel. Made a quick dash, spotted cache, signed and back to car. Phew! I was surprised to be first to find as lately they've been being swooped on before the sun comes up (although I think it might be the CO doing the swooping, so that might explain it!). My first {FTF} and it wasn't even on purpose! Thanks, now off to find the nearby one.
